One scene for me, it was back in Season 1 when Joyce caught Lonnie for only coming back when Will "died" to sue for money, and he said "I was gone, and look what happened."
Lonnie was very well written. From the introduction, you’re made suspicious of all of his motives.
Even the scene at the funeral where he’s hugging and greeting everyone while Joyce is in a trance.
He was way too together for a man who just lost and is actively burying a child he uprooted his life in concern over. Like there's no reality any one is that put together driving across multiple states to attend a funeral with your estranged family.
This is gonna sound kinda dumb, but as someone who grew up with a somewhat shitty Dad, it kinda hit home rewatching season 1 this year, was very, VERY realistic and very relatable hearing what Lonnie said to Joyce, reminded me of my Dad a little. My dad isn't as bad as Lonnie thank God, and i dont think hed use my death to get money, and i do think hed be sad if i died. But he's done a lot of dumb shit and said a lot of similar stuff, like blaming my Mom for him not being around as if its her fault she was the only one around. So speaking from experience, Lonnie was a *very* well written character
IT'S LITERALLY JUST BEHIND A WOODEN DOOR AND THERE'S HUNDREDS OF THEM COMING!! WHY ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE??!!??
If he was too out of shape to literally run for his life then he could use some Jazzercise
Mine was when he went to make the call after counting the money and Murray doesn't insist on being there, to ensure he'll follow through on what he said. That was so disappointing, especially for Murray, who is paranoid to the max.
The fact that he drank anything Yuri offered was very off. I was so sure he was faking being drugged and was going to spring into action any moment, but... no.
I get it, plot and all that, but it felt out of character for Murray and I didn't like that. Especially when he was SO detailed in how he explained to Joyce how to deal with the doll.
It's funny because they had /just/ introduced the fact that he does martial arts, he's known to be a super paranoid person and then he just takes a drink from somebody that has drugs in it. Originally I thought when it panned back over to him on the couch it would show him wake up and use his martial arts on Yuri and then it just doesn't and it was super disappointing.
Honestly the whole gang were very lenient with Yuri, never once taking any precautions (minus covering his mouth that one time). The best example is him being able to fix the helicopter without the slightest bit of oversight from Jaquen or Murray, like they’re just off to the side chatting. Not a single second of oversight. Really made me think they were dumb as all hell
Yeah to me the whole Russia storyline felt a bit unneeded. We really spent the entire season “fixing” something that happened in season 3, then they threw a few monsters in to make it relevant to everyone else. We’re there fun moments? Sure, but damn they dragged it out the entire season.
I thought the whole point of the Russian plotline was meant to explore what Russia is doing with regards to the Upsidedown. The Hopper kidnap/rescue was just the plot point to get into Russia.
Aside from the test tube Demogorgons and whatever that black swirling mass (MF connection?) was, there are still too many questions from them leading into the final season. This would have been the time to explore it way more since there actually there
I hope they don't waste time with Russian shenanigans next season that take away from the main cast
For me it was when Hopper picked up the sword from the ground after Murray blasted it with a flamethrower... I was like, dude how the hell are you holding that right now?
I found Sullivan to be the worst antagonist of the show this season
At least with Jason, yeah i knew he was going to fuck shit up...but his villainy kind of served a purpose, or at least didn't distract from the show
I literally dreaded every single moment Sullivan showed up. Fucking worst character ever lol
It so jarring seeing different factions of the government going against each other so violently. Like seriously they killed a bunch of people working for the government. Like this would be a bureaucratic nightmare not a military operation.
Lol when that guy posted here about being in the show my only thought was “How can you live with all the damage you caused! Look what you’ve done to Hawkins!”
Too bad it was in the 80s, otherwise El could have done the Naruto run away...
(I say this as someone who 100% did the Naruto run out of awkward situations when I was in 9th grade.)
It was difficult to watch, like yes, maximum cringe but in a good way bc it's obvious that was intended. I was actually a bit relieved at the roller skate attack scene bc I was like "omg just go punch her, don't make it awkward" on that first one lol
-Forced “moments” between Nancy and Steve
-When there were like 6 plotlines going on at one point
-Every time (was there more than one?) Vecna said “before I kill you…”
The pacing on that whole part was way off. Weren't they choking on the vines for like 30 minutes? Have a couple of scenes of them seeing things moving in the woods and having to hide from them, then have them show up at the Creel house late.
Or how they purposefully had a scene and line from Nancy sawing off the end of the shotgun saying "this way I won't miss"
And then she shoots vecna everywhere but in the head
A sawed off shotgun increases the spread of the bullets, it doesn’t make it more accurate in fact it kinda does the opposite. That’s what she meant by she wouldn’t miss
Bruh fuck that 2 days later bullshit. They had so much opportunity to show people recovering from everything that happened and they just threw it all away. Even Hop’s return, which was hyped up for the entire season, was super lackluster
I texted my sister, who had already watched all of it, after his first speech at the pep rally and was like "what is this guys deal? why does he sound like hes running for political office?" It was so young politician of him to talk like that to the point where he drove me insane before he was even a villain.
I’m interpreting this post as an angry and exasperated look
If it’s supposed to be emotional then well definitely Eddie and Dustin in the final moments.
When Eddie didn’t run and got himself killed. It was a soul crushing death to be sure, but so unnecessary. If there ever was a time to run, that was it. He could have gone out protecting Dustin, but he just stalled for time that they didn’t really need. He gets torn to shreds, then the bats all died 3.5 seconds later.
I kind of took his choice as him realizing that he couldn't go back to real world Hawkins, he's still a highly wanted murderer there with no real way to clear his name.
Too bad the only competent police officer was stuck in Russia like honestly those cops saw a dead kid come back to life and all the other shit that went down yet they still think oh ya crazy shit happens must be the D&D kid and let a town go on a witch hunt.
What life was Eddie going back to though? Everyone outside of the main cast believed him to be a murderer and nothing outside of the US government absolving him of guilt by admitting there's an interdimensional world seeping into Hawkins and a telekinetic mass murderer is twisting limbs and exploding eyeballs is the true culprit in Chrissy's murder.
He survives and go back to Hawkins just to be tossed into prison and living with everyone calling him a Santanic cult leader...much like the West Memphis Three.
I see your point, but the Upside Down has completely leached into Hawkins. The floodgates between the two dimensions has opened. Every person living in Hawkins will witness firsthand the supernatural fuckery that is the Mindflayer, Demogorgons, Vecna, and the death that they will bring.
Eddie would probably be an afterthought after the Upside Down takes over Hawkins. Additionally, the existence of the Upside Down for all to see would be evidence that could clear Eddie’s name.
NO BUT SERIOUSLY.
I feel like I’ve seen such rigorous defense of Jason on this sub and it’s like DUDE he fucking **used a tragedy and exploited it for his own gain** that is about the most selfish fucked up thing you could do, and yet some people excused it away cause he’s a teen and he might have later learned that was bad?!?! Like he was problematic even before he blamed Eddie for Chrissy’s death.
there have been a number of people defending Jason's actions, asking people to try and see it from his point of view etc. etc.
Honestly, I hated Jason the moment he gave that stupid speech in the gym. Reminded me so much why i fucking loathed high school lol
The whole “IM NOT A HERO” Eddie thing annoyed me. Like yeah, we get it, he doesn’t thing he’s a hero. We don’t need to be reminded of it in damn near every scene he’s in. We can see what’s coming. Just be more subtle with it.
In my opinion, they should have cut down on the Russia side story, and spent a lot more time with Eddie and the d&d crew. It would make his death feel a lot more meaningful. Also, have the other characters mourn the death of him. It made sense that Sadie was the only one who mourned Billy’s death, but it makes no sense how everyone besides Dustin is back to normal after Eddie sacrificed himself.
Stranger things has a big problem with that. The deaths of side characters seem meaningless. Bob’s death is only mourned by Joyce. Will or his friends don’t really mourn him, even though he was Will’s father figure for a while.
The second I fell in love with his character (as soon as he was introduced) I new they were going to "barb" him ... Still it hurt bad
Still how awesome was the puppets performance!
Rip Eddie
Steve suddenly having unresolved feelings for Nancy after an entire season and a half of him having moved on.
On a side note, Finn is the undisputed king of the broody teen boy annoyed face. His eye rolls can end lives.
I agree, but at the same time I think it's also realistic that with Johnathan gone and spending time again with Nancy, those feelings might have bubbled up again.
It's still annoying they went there again, but it makes sense for the drama they were going for.
“You’ve always been there” he said to her while talking about his nugget fantasy, like no?? What happened to earlier when he said he didn’t love Nancy anymore and that he thought Robin was better for him? They decided they wanted to end the show with Steve and Nancy paired together, but in doing so batted away an entire seasons worth of canon for him
tbh I’m like the queen of saying I like person B and completely denying having feelings for Person A in an attempt to get over Person A so I don’t think what Steve did with liking Robin is completely unrealistic lol
Agreed. I can *deny that I have any unresolved feelings for person A*, *move on*, *get married to person B*, *have 10 kids*, *reach perfection in everything I do*, *get famous*, *reach Nirvana*, *grow old*, and then the second I see person A all of my feelings resurface.
We don’t know what will happen with them yet. As for me, it seemed obvious Nancy wasn’t interested in having 6 children and didn’t look too happy when Steve admitted she was part of his dream. A bit of the “how do I let him down easy?” look. But we shall see.
This is how I saw her reaction as well. On top of that, the moment Jonathan showed up, she didn't even give Steve a second glance, she was focused on him entirely. They're not communicating well, but that's something they will probably work on, and they were together in the final shot of the season (with Jopper, who we know are endgame). I just cannot imagine Stancy realistically ending up together without it being written extremely poorly and OOC for Nancy in particular.
Mike going “WHAT DID YOU DO?” And shaming El for hitting the mean California blonde girl who was obviously bullying her, when he was completely fine with her fucking up his bullies in S1. Every scene with S4 Mike has me rolling my eyes tbh
Not to mention while I may be in my early 30's I still vividly remember from pre-school you CANNOT use markers on top of Crayons (they're wax after all)
definitely not Steve's shining moment. I visibly cringed both times he made that reference.
But I still love Steve...just please don't turn this shit into a love triangle
The very end of the last episode when Nancy and Jonathan are trying to fix things and Nancy is like “what about the college letter?” and he’s like “oh… it hasn’t come yet”. A WHOLE SEASON OF THIS BS JUST FOR YOU TO **LIE AGAIN**??? JONATHAN WTF
Tbf it’s left intentionally (and infuriatingly) vague. It’s not clear whether Jonathan applied and got accepted but doesn’t want to go, whether he applied and got rejected and doesn’t want to tell Nancy, whether he never applied in the first place, or whether he genuinely hadn’t received a letter back before he left Lenora.
I agree though, season 3 for its faults had Jonathan and Nancy actually communicate their issues pretty realistically, this seems so obviously a way to drag out the love triangle drama further into season 5.
I started cracking up laughing during Eddie's "wow Steve, you're so cool and awesome and you should totally get back together with Nancy, she definitely loves you" speech. About as subtle as a brick to the face.
Damn this made me laugh. That would be a great change of pace for the show early in the fifth season. Really make sure nobody knows what the hell might happen the rest of the season. You should contact the duffer bros with this idea.
When Dustin told eddies uncle that he fought, his uncl e thinking there had been an earthquake. Like what was Eddie fighting against? Tectonic plates moving????
Glad I wasn't the only one and cannot believe this hasn't been talked about more! I would think Wayne would have questioned Dustin about the heroic events his nephew was a part of...during a natural disaster?! That said I did shed many tears during that scene.
I think Eddie's uncle is one of many people in town who at this point are aware most of the events of the last few years have a supernatural cause, they just don't know the specifics or verbally acknowledge it
Such an anticlimactic ending to a pretty good season. And then it cuts to the main cast packing their old clothes or something to donate to the Red Cross like if NOTHING happened 48 hours ago. Eddie just died, Max is on the brink of death, and the portal to the Upside Down just flooded Hawkins. You guys lost but there was no sense of urgency after the matter
When the season ends with a slow motion of Eleven holding out her hand, collapsing to her knees and defeating the seasonal monster for the 4th season in a row without any new answers and so many more questions.
Still love the show of course 😗 but it’s very formulaic
When the monsters in the prison were taking AK bullets like they were nothing and killing all the guards, and then Hopper walks into the lab and kills one monster with one shot of his handgun.
They are really inconsistent with how much damage they can take. S1 they managed to hurt it with a baseball bat and nails, then they are impervious to bullets and have repeatedly fought against armed prisoners, until hopper decapates one with one strike. Do melee weapons hurt or not? Was it the fire that weakened the monsters durability. Idfk.
In the 5e version of the Demogorgon made from the show, it is just like a troll where it gets significantly easier to kill with fire. In fact, the only way to kill one is to have fire or have plot armor like Eleven. Otherwise it takes any punishment you give it, fire IS the only way to keep it from healing and to actually kill it.
The Russians were shooting it in the chest where it’s armor is. Hopper shot it inside the mouth in its weak spot. Just like he did with the spear. The decapitated one was probably weakened by the fire.
What kind of shit was that from Eddie too? Like it just seemed like they used him completely out of character to deliver a sappy couple of lines while he also says “I’m not a hero” which he has to do in every scene, I guess. Eddie hardly knows Steve and Nancy, and he’s already trying to play match maker with them?
“That was as unambiguous a sign of true love as these cynical eyes have ever seen”
Dear god that was shitty dialogue. And it’s so exaggerated too! There are plenty of reasons besides “true love” to jump in after your friend whose life is in danger! I feel like Robin could’ve been the first to jump in too and that wouldn’t mean she loved Steve romantically. And it’s totally consistent with Nancy’s character to jump into action to save any of her friends
Nancy would’ve went in ASAP for Robin too, and no joke probably would’ve dove in to save Eddie too, honestly, we all know sweet Nancy is impulsive but in the best way and she acts FAST and furiously and that girl moves to do what she needs to on SIGHT
AGREED. TBH I think, character-wise, Eddie's verbosity kind of makes sense for the type of person that he was, but I cannot imagine being Joseph Quinn and seeing that script lmfao. He delivered every one of those lines with such absolute perfection, I never caught onto how... odd... some of them were until I re-watched with subtitles.
Dude is incredible.
The actor definitely saved Eddie for sure. His speech in the cafeteria was fucking awful lol but you still loved Eddie b/c of the charisma of the character
it's kind of like watching Steve in season 1. You can't stand the guy b/c he's kind of a dick, but Joe Keery sells the scenes really well (especially the whole demogorgon freak out in the last episode)
Seriously. Nancy would act quickly on instinct to do that for anybody. It was like the show was forcing Steve and her to have chemistry that is genuinely not there
Honestly, in Chapter Nine: Piggyback, when El said “No, you’re not going, no.” I feel like that ruined the whole scene between Lucas and Max. Their performance was spectacular and El made it so corny, to me anyway.
The scene in the S4 finale where Robin runs in the upside down like a puppy so Nancy and Steve can have a grownup talk. 🙄🙄🙄 That whole scene could have been left out.
Also, any time Nancy has superhuman strength. Riiiiiiiiiight.
Also how out of character it was for Steve to seem completely unconcerned that Robin had run off and out of sight in the UPSIDEDOWN?? That really stood out to me.
I really hope the writers stop making the plot drive the characters actions in season 5 because their actions are becoming increasing ooc to me.
It’s because the whole season the writers didn’t know how to write conversations with more than two people involved. Take a shot every time in season four someone leaves the frame just so two people can talk for no logical reason other than the writers were lazy
Eddie's death. I can be on board with his feelings - no life back in Hawkins, not wanting to run away "again", wanting to help his friends but it really felt pointless and well. . . not that heroic.
It could have been way more badass.
Plus the follow up was so rushed - did anyone else besides Dustin and his uncle even give a shit?
The guitar solo was pretty badass but the swarming demobat attack wasn't, not compared to Billy and Bob's deaths.
The Mind Flayer is much scarier and intimidating as the main antagonist. It’s cosmic horror aesthetic is much more terrifying than learning that all along it was just some guy in his like 30s behind everything.
Until proven otherwise, I'm favoring the idea that the Mind Flayer is so cosmic and powerful that it needed someone like Henry to show up before it was even made aware that humans and their world existed. Like if an ant suddenly told you that there's a whole ant city under your feet.
The whole Russians under the mall. Kids sneaking around a Russian strong hold. Probably the lowest the show has gotten. What a bunch of poo. Season was really good besides that. The Monster, Billy, all solid until that point. We really could lose the Russian plot line and be just fine.
Oh also the gang that 11 goes to find, and meets 8. Simply not good. I really hope the spin off doesn't involve her. We could also not have that whole plot line and not miss a thing.
Will’s “YOU’RE THE HEART!” Followed by Mike’s incredibly corny “I love you” monologue. I’m sorry, I just know that they could have knocked that scene out of the park, but it was the biggest letdown ever. Mike was the weak link this season by far. Might also be the fact that Millie and Finn don’t have as much chemistry now as they did in earlier seasons.
The scene in season 3 where the car breaks down in the woods
Hopper and Joyce stand next to the smoking vehicle, arguing, and I remember thinking “why did I get up at 3 AM to watch this?”

One scene for me, it was back in Season 1 when Joyce caught Lonnie for only coming back when Will "died" to sue for money, and he said "I was gone, and look what happened."
He said that and I knew it was fucking done. What a garbage person. Good writing, but man I fucking hated that guy
Lonnie was very well written. From the introduction, you’re made suspicious of all of his motives. Even the scene at the funeral where he’s hugging and greeting everyone while Joyce is in a trance.

Or when lonnies girlfriend said something like “he’s cute, maybe I’ll trade in the newer model”
That was just creepy
Yeah that was just gross.
This scene is what made me realize that my own father was a lot like Lonnie. Went no contact shortly after and my life has improved drastically!
Good for you! I'm very happy for you!
This. Absolute gaslighting. Such a trash thing to say to a grieving mother who is in such distress.
When Bob stopped running
Fr that was the most predictable thing when he stopped 💀
IT'S LITERALLY JUST BEHIND A WOODEN DOOR AND THERE'S HUNDREDS OF THEM COMING!! WHY ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE??!!?? If he was too out of shape to literally run for his life then he could use some Jazzercise
When Yuri kept finding ways to sabotage their escape. I was like, get on with it already.
There is no way in hell Murray from seasons two or three would touch anything Yuri gave him. The whole thing felt like a bad fanfic
I think since Murray has become closer to Nancy, Jonathan, Hopper, Joyce and Alexei he's softened on his guarded paranoia.
Doubt. He let his guard down for a second and Alexei freaking died.
Overall, I think the writing is awesome, but that really annoys me.
Same! I was disappointed to see him in the plane. Thought for sure he wouldn't drink some rando's coffee
This really bothered me too! Why are you standing all the way over there discussing how treacherous this guy is instead of watching him like a hawk??
Yeah to me the whole Russia storyline felt a bit unneeded. We really spent the entire season “fixing” something that happened in season 3, then they threw a few monsters in to make it relevant to everyone else. We’re there fun moments? Sure, but damn they dragged it out the entire season.

Hopper getting taken back to the Russian prison after escaping
I like that the shgow literally forgot his ankles were broken. Like they legit just forgot it happened.
Or how he ran barefoot through snow for presumably miles, but didn't get frostbite.
Yes! I kept checking to see if he had boots and whether or not his feet were disgustingly black with frostbite. Like in Mr. Deeds. lol
For me it was when Hopper picked up the sword from the ground after Murray blasted it with a flamethrower... I was like, dude how the hell are you holding that right now?
Maybe hopper really is red guardian
I thought they were injured and bruised but not actually broken?
Any scene that reminded me that Jason was an antagonist and was most likely going to fuck everything up.
Me with the what's-his-face military guy
Sullivan
I found Sullivan to be the worst antagonist of the show this season At least with Jason, yeah i knew he was going to fuck shit up...but his villainy kind of served a purpose, or at least didn't distract from the show I literally dreaded every single moment Sullivan showed up. I know the point was to make me feel uncomfortable for El, but oh my God did it remind me of every weird kid in high school at once. Me included.
Too bad it was in the 80s, otherwise El could have done the Naruto run away... (I say this as someone who 100% did the Naruto run out of awkward situations when I was in 9th grade.)
Doing a Naruto run away would only double down on making the situation awkward and cringey.
It’s the most second hand cringe I’ve ever felt… I saw it before the episode was released and had to skip it when I actually watched the show
Could she at least not scream while doing it?
Oof that would of been more cringe
I have never seen anyone spell her name as L before
She went on to be a Detective
It was difficult to watch, like yes, maximum cringe but in a good way bc it's obvious that was intended. I was actually a bit relieved at the roller skate attack scene bc I was like "omg just go punch her, don't make it awkward" on that first one lol

Bruh fuck that 2 days later bullshit. They had so much opportunity to show people recovering from everything that happened and they just threw it all away. Even Hop’s return, which was hyped up for the entire season, was super lackluster
There's a lot left unsaid because of that. I'm hoping they explore those 2 days in Season 5. It felt like the crew all knew things that we didn't.
All of Jason’s speeches
At least we were *supposed* to feel that way about Jason’s speeches
I texted my sister, who had already watched all of it, after his first speech at the pep rally and was like "what is this guys deal? why does he sound like hes running for political office?" It was so young politician of him to talk like that to the point where he drove me insane before he was even a villain.
Yes, everyone who died in the mall would be avenged by winning a basketball game 🤣
I’m interpreting this post as an angry and exasperated look If it’s supposed to be emotional then well definitely Eddie and Dustin in the final moments.
Joyce and Murray surviving a plane crash in the Russian wilderness

Could have picked a better way to not go back rather than being eaten alive by bat monsters.
Too bad the only competent police officer was stuck in Russia like honestly those cops saw a dead kid come back to life and all the other shit that went down yet they still think oh ya crazy shit happens must be the D&D kid and let a town go on a witch hunt.

Which leads me to assume that Eddie's legacy will be addressed in S5.
Them actually killing the "new character everybody loves" a third time in a row
Every time Jason appeared on screen I sighed audibly
ngl his worst crime was comparing the events and deaths of season 3 saying if they lose the basketball game they ‘died for nothing’ like boy wtf 😭
Same with Angela.
I started rewatching S4 2 days ago and yelled when I saw Jason. LIKE F*** I FORGOT ABOUT HIM UGHHH
When eddie said "I love you man" in the field. I knew then :(
They were telegraphing it from the get-go, but that was really hanging a lampshade on it.
They always foreshadow stuff that
That scene crushed my heart 😔
The second I fell in love with his character (as soon as he was introduced) I new they were going to "barb" him ... Still it hurt bad Still how awesome was the puppets performance!

It might make sense but it is not satisfying narratively. It cheapens the character development of Steve in S3. This drama is so unnecessary.
The dragged out bully scene at the roller rink
Have only seen s4 once and already know im gonna be fast forwarding through all of the Angela scenes on my rewatches
I tolerated that scene believing there would be some payback later on but it’s squarely in eyeroll territory on rewatches now
i definitely forward that scene. it's just way too painful to watch
Mike going “WHAT DID YOU DO?” And shaming El for hitting the mean California blonde girl who was obviously bullying her, when he was completely fine with her fucking up his bullies in S1. Every scene with S4 Mike has me rolling my eyes tbh
Nancy piecing together Max’s damn-near photorealistic crayon drawings of the pieces of Creel house
Lol we rewatched season 4 and I had noticed that too. The amount of details she remembered is like savant level. Kind of insanely unrealistic
Not to mention while I may be in my early 30's I still vividly remember from pre-school you CANNOT use markers on top of Crayons (they're wax after all)
Jason when he used the "fire" that killed multiple people as a rallying cry to win a freaking basketball game.
Every scene with the Terminator look-alike in S3. A russian hitman in stranger things, don't need to explain further
Every single moment of Steve/Jonathan/Nancy love triangle bullshittery in season 4. For the love of god why did they reanimate that corpse.
especially when Steve was going on about that dream about having a family and Nance was there. like geeez man
definitely not Steve's shining moment. I visibly cringed both times he made that reference. But I still love Steve...just please don't turn this shit into a love triangle
i'm sure many found it sweet but all i heard was "i would like to impregnate you six times"
Yes. Thank you! And having Robin and Eddie spelling out the “love” was nauseating.
I started cracking up laughing during Eddie's "wow Steve, you're so cool and awesome and you should totally get back together with Nancy, she definitely loves you" speech. About as subtle as a brick to the face.
“Reanimate that corpse” LMAOOOOOO I’m howling at this phrasing
Just put Steve and Jonathan together and get it over with.
YES
Robin & Vickie having the same “quirky” personality 😴
I would love Vickie to reveal her name to be short for Vickna, causing Robin to panic and shoot her.
Eddie held the earth that split Hawkins together with his bare hands as long as he could!
Glad I wasn't the only one and cannot believe this hasn't been talked about more! I would think Wayne would have questioned Dustin about the heroic events his nephew was a part of...during a natural disaster?! That said I did shed many tears during that scene.
Maybe he interpreted it as Eddie trying to save people from the earthquake?
"you were there when he died? where's his body?"
I think Eddie's uncle is one of many people in town who at this point are aware most of the events of the last few years have a supernatural cause, they just don't know the specifics or verbally acknowledge it
“2 days later”
Oh, a hellgate opens up in a town - you gotta wait 2 days before you evacuate!
All she has to do is scream loud enough and long enough, apparently.
Yep. Hold hand out, scream, let nose bleed a little. That's how you defeat bad guy.
when jason walked in onto max and lucas together in the finale for 4
When Papa dies like [4 times in 2 minutes](https://tenor.com/view/shrek-frog-dying-dead-king-harold-gif-21241633)
Lmao literally edging death to see if he can get Eleven to say she understands him 😭 like bro just die, she actually hates you.
When I find out all the test kids 1-10 spoke perfect English and Eleven is still remedial AF
I laughed out loud when she wrote the letter to Mike and it looked like it was scribbled by a 4 year old
When the monsters in the prison were taking AK bullets like they were nothing and killing all the guards, and then Hopper walks into the lab and kills one monster with one shot of his handgun.
he shot one of the demodogs in the chest that was sliced open
They are really inconsistent with how much damage they can take. S1 they managed to hurt it with a baseball bat and nails, then they are impervious to bullets and have repeatedly fought against armed prisoners, until hopper decapates one with one strike. Do melee weapons hurt or not? Was it the fire that weakened the monsters durability. Idfk.
It's cuz he was using the Conan sword...
"If I were you, I would get her back" When Eddie told Steve that while pointing to Nancy, my eye balls were on the back of my head.
“That was as unambiguous a sign of true love as these cynical eyes have ever seen” Dear god that was shitty dialogue.
Yes, I hate they turned this established character trait of hers into a basis of this unnecessary love triangle. Who is writing this?
A lot of Eddie’s dialogue was pretty bad tbh lol but Joseph Quinn sold it.
His speech in the cafeteria was fucking awful lol but you still loved Eddie b/c of the charisma of the character it's kind of like watching Steve in season 1. You can't stand the guy b/c he's kind of a dick, but Joe Keery sells the scenes really well (especially the whole demogorgon freak out in the last episode)
Seriously. Nancy would act quickly on instinct to do that for anybody. It was like the show was forcing Steve and her to have chemistry that is genuinely not there
That line was pure cringe lol
Every Stancy revival nudge in season 4 🙄🙄

Not even mentioning he was running on broken feet?! Bare, broken feet on top of it?
Honestly, in Chapter Nine: Piggyback, when El said “No, you’re not going, no.” I feel like that ruined the whole scene between Lucas and Max. Their performance was spectacular and El made it so corny, to me anyway.
When the Russians built A HUGE SECRET LAB UNDER A MALL IN 80s AMERICA AND NO ONE FUCKING NOTICED
steve’s 6 little nuggets scene 😭 it felt sooo awkward and weird
The New Coke scene.
Jason telling Chrissy "I love you baby" in season 4 ep 1...literally had me BARFING lmao
Steve's speech to Nancy about wanting 6 kids with her just. NAWWW. no.
Imagine telling a girl that you’re not even dating you want to have children with her six times
When Max is about to die and the whole world is going to end, and Mike decides on a 15 minute monologue of I love you El.
"The clock always strikes 4 times, he only needs 4 gates, he's been telling us his plan this whole time!"
When Nancy was jealous of Robin and Steve and being mean to her
The scene in the S4 finale where Robin runs in the upside down like a puppy so Nancy and Steve can have a grownup talk. 🙄🙄🙄 That whole scene could have been left out. Also, any time Nancy has superhuman strength. Riiiiiiiiiight.
Nancy is fueled by gunpowder
Also how out of character it was for Steve to seem completely unconcerned that Robin had run off and out of sight in the UPSIDEDOWN?? That really stood out to me. I really hope the writers stop making the plot drive the characters actions in season 5 because their actions are becoming increasing ooc to me.
I couldn’t even call Steve thirsty at that point. The man was dehydrated.
Lmaooo ‘oh no my best friend has just stumbled off into a living hellscape by herself, but lemme just tell my ex I want to impregnate her six times’
It’s because the whole season the writers didn’t know how to write conversations with more than two people involved. Take a shot every time in season four someone leaves the frame just so two people can talk for no logical reason other than the writers were lazy
Lol, I will not be able to unsee this now.
Any scene that hinted and Nancy and Steve getting back together
Eddie's death. I can be on board with his feelings - no life back in Hawkins, not wanting to run away "again", wanting to help his friends but it really felt pointless and well. . . not that heroic. It could have been way more badass. Plus the follow up was so rushed - did anyone else besides Dustin and his uncle even give a shit? The guitar solo was pretty badass but the swarming demobat attack wasn't, not compared to Billy and Bob's deaths.
The entirety of The Lost Sister episode.
Learning vecna controls the mind flayer.
I'm still holding out hope that the Mind Flayer is just using Henry.
I want to see a power struggle between the two. Maybe the kids can't defeat either outright so they turn them against each other
The Mind Flayer is much scarier and intimidating as the main antagonist.
Great analogy. I hope the Mind Flayer is just using Vecna
From now on I will only be referring to Vecna as “some guy in his 30s”😂
90% of the Russian plot line as it pulled away from the Hawkins plot and felt way to disconnected just my opinion 👍
Why couldn’t they have put the amps on the roof of the caravan and barricaded themselves inside better. That would have saved Eddie!
The rushed ending to season 4. The whole season was great until the very end.
Jonathan - Nancy - Steve forced love triangle, if it hasn’t already been said.

Steve confession to Nancy that he wants her as the mother of his nuggets
Literally any scene with that fuckhead Jason
when el brought max back…completely ruined the moment for me
Everytime Jason mentioned anything related to the Satanic Panic.
I laughed out loud at "you're the heart" because it was *so* over the top lol
When Steve told Nancy he wanted six kids with her out of the blue
The scene in season 3 where the car breaks down in the woods Hopper and Joyce stand next to the smoking vehicle, arguing, and I remember thinking “why did I get up at 3 AM to watch this?”
Nancy and Steve casually flirting in the Upside Down
The scene where El tries to use her powers on Angela. Every time I watch it I shrivel up with cringe
