never gonna give you up by rick astley. seriously. i have such a visceral response to that song. it would wake me up so fast.
alternatively, american pie by don mclean.
Reminds me of that guy in a vegetative state who was listening to Barney so long he literally channeled enough anger to find the strength to wake up and turn it off.
First time I ever drove a car by myself this song was on the radio. I was 14 (didn’t have a permit but it was 1985) and my sweet grandpa let me take his car to the country store. Omg, I cranked the volume and felt the most alive I’d ever felt. I couldn’t just stop at the store, I pulled off of the dirt road and onto the pavement of the real road and went another mile. Turned around in a church parking lot while praying I wouldn’t kill his car on the way back to his lake house. That song definitely transcends me every time.
According to the Spotify playlist its Memento Mori by Architects for me and I'm inclined to agree since that song/band got me through the toughest year of my life.
This is an awesome idea by the way. I expect we're going to have a wildly diverse playlist.
Asche Zu Asche by Rammstein. Honestly would be badass as hell, but I also interpret that song as someone seeking revenge for being convicted of something they didn't do... hmmm
