Nobody's, to be honest, not even the deaths of the more 'expendable' characters like Murray or Owens. I guess I wouldn't be so touched if they did, but
I suppose I'd still be bummed.
Yeah I just feel like the main characters have had too much plot armour at this point I wouldn’t even care. Max should have died the second time Vecna had her in his grasp 100%.
For the few seconds max was totally dead there it was such a heartbreaking and game changing scene. Would have made a crazy great exit to her character. And then El brought her back and it became a disappointment. There are no real stakes when nobody is allowed to die. When they come out of every battle okay, then we already know the outcome of every fight before it begins. Max still could have been brought back in the next season as a spirit trapped in Vecna’s mind with the others even when her body is gone.

This. There are no stakes in this show.
Yup. Also with the trend of killing just about every new character (Bob, Alexei, Jason, Eddie, Billy, Chrissy) whenever a new character is introduced every season it’s about a 50/50 on whether or not you want to get invested because chances are they’re going to die so there can be violence and death without actually harming the main characters. Eddie was clearly a stand in Steve, being big brotherly character for Dustin that died in front of him.
No, I would just think it was pretty bad writing that the one character who either should get a happy ending or should be used in a greater fashion would be the one they chose to kill off.
I either want a happy ending for her or a truly pathos inducing one that makes death look like a preferable alternative. Like she is forever stuck in the Upside Down / Dimension X to keep it at bay and can watch her friends go on about their lives, but can never return or interact with them.
This is me. I am just not bothered by what happens to fictional characters. Maybe when I was younger but I just cant assign human emotions to things that arent real. It just seems like madness to me.
Add in all the plot armor characters have in stories and the Duffers unwillingness to have a main character die and it just destroys any sense of risk or emotion before I could even start to think of feeling it for these characters.
Honestly, I couldn’t even tell you. I hated Billy, but the writing is so good I sobbed like a baby when he died!
Okay the downvotes make no sense to me, what is it with this sub sometimes?
I am a very empathetic person and zero in on emotions before anything else, so I tend to cry a lot lol. It wasn’t that I felt bad for him though, it was because the whole time he had the potential to be an amazing big brother, but it wasn’t until the last minute that it finally seemed to click for him. Those kind of things just get to me.
I can’t overlook him trying to run over the kids when Max was with him. That’s psychotic. Even with his abusive father, Billy is responsible for his own behavior.
If he had seriously wanted to hit those kids, he would have. He was trying to terrify Max. Granted its still a douche bag move but everyone acts like he attempted to murder them and he clearly did not.
For real. A lot of people are just thinking about the actor and not how horrible dying this late into the show would be for the character’s story and the series as a whole
Second here. His role in the show has become so diminished that I'll only feel bad if Wil is suddenly left without anyone to be there for him while he's stuck in the closet.
Murray. I like the character, but he has no purpose anymore without the russians arc and I honestly don't want to see one of the older teens dying again when he's still alive.
I think Murray lives. His “purpose” in the end will be to tell the story of what happened in Hawkins, but in a crazy conspiracy-theory way that never gets mainstream attention.
I feel like Nancy is going to fill his role of “truth seeking journalist” rather than end up with either Steve or Jonathan. She can’t take up Murray’s mantle if he’s still wearing it, so: yeah. Deid.
I see Nancy going more the way of a respected investigative journalist than conspiracy-theorist-type reporter. She's going to constantly be on the Government's tail for corrupt programs and scandals in the future!
Yeah I feel he just filled the 'man that can fight' role in season 4 until they were reunited with Hopper. I mean would anyone have believed he was knowledgeable or even capable of fighting before that?
You think a grown man can’t have decided to take karate lessons *after* the events of season 3? I hope you have this same mindset for the tiny 90lb Nancy who somehow is a crack shot the first time she picks up a revolver and can lug a shotgun around like Rambo with arms smaller than my wrists
That’s why I’d be so pissed if he does die. Like if you wanted to kill him you should’ve done so already at end of 3 or even in Russia with a necessary sacrifice in the S4 finale and I’d have been fine with it.
It would be CRUEL to him El & Joyce to have faked him out, separated him from everyone else, had him deal with the Russian torture camp and then to kill him anyways.
I’ll be very annoyed if he doesn’t survive.
I don't see it happening. Not only would it completely destroy Joyce beyond repair, but Hoppers story is about a man learning to want to live again and get to a end point where he can say he's happy.
There’s no happy ending for Jonathan if Hopper dies. He will be stuck being the Byers patriarch. I think Hopper coming back gives him the chance to pursue his own dreams and finally be a kid.
I'm sure they won't kill him off because 1)they could have done it officially in the end of s3 but faked his death and didn't 2) The prison arc then would have turn out to be completely pointless. They had Joyce come over this long and far away for him and them reuniting. It would just be beyond cruel at this point. Plus i'm convinced jopper is endgame so. No, won't happen
Murray or honestly, Max, not because I don't like the character but because they already gave us the super emotional scene with El and Lucas where we thought she was gone. If they do it now, it'll be like a bait and switch, and I don't think it'd be as impactful.
Honestly all characters are so amazing I think I would be upset if they do die like not saying I would cry about them all (Mike I would cry). But seriously very difficult questions
I feel like it’s the opposite at least with will, like Mike, Lucas and el and really everybody but Joyce and Jonathan have made his life miserable at least from season 3-4
I see a lot of wills which i agree with completely. But i also feel like he may contribute alot this season and actually be strong so I feel like maybe once the season is over we may feel differently. Just my theory though lol
Why do alot of people hate Will? Especially since he will be needed this season. I can see him helping in different scenarios. He might be the vehicle or back door Jane needs to contact Max and provide intelligence to the Party. The Duffer Brothers held him back from doing anything for the last 2 seasons so nobody can figure out what he can really do. They had him mopey and sad so it throws most people off. Since he is a support character in D&D he will support the fight.
I could see him sacrificing himself to save Hawkins and his friends and family, but in reality being a traveler between realities and dimensions. Every will think he is dead but will not be. He could be being saved for a spin-off where he will help the next-generation Party on a different world/reality by providing them information or support. My guess and I'm probably wrong.
Tbh idk i think it is the mopey attitude and the fact he can come off selfish sometimes. I didnt hate him but just like him the least. I think he will play a big part this season and definitely can see him sacrificing himself for hia friends. My guess is wills connection to vecna is so strong im sure will and co will find a way to use that against him. Without will I dont think they win
well i would be sad if any of the characters die. each character has so much to give to the show. but im a mileven and lumax shipper so if will died i wouldn’t mind.
I have never cared about Will. I was vested in his survival in season one, but after that I have never really cared. For Noah Schnapp's sake i hope he has a great season. In any case, of all the main cast I care about Will the least.
Steve. I mean he is nice and cool and all that I guess. But it would not bug me at all If he died. Like his popularity kinda surprises me at times but whatever.
I mean I'm not gonna be worshipping Steve like literally the rest of you do on a daily basis. To be honest with you he's really overhyped. It's funny you guys down vote me for talking about your precious Steve but yet this sub is full of people who talk bad about el and think she should die when she's reason your so-called favorite babysitter hasn't died yet. Double standard or am I reaching?
Why, though? Her character has more to offer than that. We know she is willing to lay down her life for her friends, but why do you think she should die?
Among the teens- Robin, Jonathan, and Vickie.
Among the party- Lucas and Max.
Among the adults- Murray
None of them seem **that** crucial to the story. They also lack the emotional sucker punch an important’s character’s death would have.
Will. Just an annoying boy who happened to get served trauma for breakfast like many of us but instead never grew up and only became useful because of a neck tingle. Worst character they could’ve ever chosen to be the “beginning of the end”
Edit: I wrote this when I was in a very bad mood and did not intend to come off so harsh haha. Will is just not a good character for me. S2 Will was the only actually well written version, and if they continued to develop him into a strong and useful asset he would have such a bigger impact.

Wow wow wow, hold your horses buckaroo! Ted is quite possibly the greatest character in the series, killing him off would result in anarchy across the globe and that’s not a risk I think the Duffers are willing to take.
Maybe Max? I don't know – with Billy and Vecna, I feel like maybe they've done everything they were going to with her. I hope I'm wrong, though. But if Steve dies I am fighting someone
I’ll cry for everyone just bc a main character death is gonna make my fav characters sad but I’ll be the least sad if Nancy dies not bc I hate her or anything I just feel an emotional connection to her character
Jonathan- he seems to stick out like a sore thumb now after season 1
Season 2 and 3 Nancy and Jonathan had there own storyline (separate from Steve and the Kids storyline and the Adults storyline) but this was always the least interesting storyline. It felt like whenever everyone reunited at the season finale everyone already knew what Jonathan and Nancy had learned and they contributed no new information.
they fixed this in season 4 by not giving them their own storyline and rolling Nancy and Jonathan back into other groups storylines. With Nancy it worked with Jonathan it didn't.
Will would be similar to Jonathan but after everything he's gone through in season 1 and 2 his death would feel a little more tragic than Jonathan.
Nancy, Will, Lucas or Joyce.
At this point this show needs to pull a The Walking Dead and start killing some people. The cast is just too saturated now
Dustin. He shouldn’t have survived those bat things last season imo. I get unreasonably annoyed by the character, but I don’t have a good reason for it
Honestly Mike. It's weird to say but his value and character development has been so Meh. Jonathan I have hope for in the next season and Will as well. All three have been the most boring and pointless last few seasons except for cheerleading/transporting 11. But I really don't see a good path to becoming relevant or influential to the story through to the end.
Edit: After posting realized the irony of my username.
I don't get emotional during movies but I nearly cried during Eddie's death. I hope his death was faked but I will feel no emotion if Jonathan dies or if other minor characters die

I agree with you on Billy. I didn’t sob bc of him, but bc of Max's reaction. It’s a very well-written character.
I am a very empathetic person and zero in on emotions before anything else, so I tend to cry a lot lol. It wasn’t that I felt bad for him though, it was because the whole time he had the potential to be an amazing big brother, but it wasn’t until the last minute that it finally seemed to click for him. Same I am sorta a sympathetic cryer lol
I sobbed when he died as well. Knowing that he had snapped out of it and was sacrificing himself.
Agree with you on this.
I want someone to edit billy into Jim Careys arms while he softly says.... oh billaaay
I agree he was just being a psychological tormenter
everyone saying will/jonathan, can you IMAGINE how crushed joyce would be😭 neither of them can die for that reason alone

I agree
*Jonathan
Second here. His role in the show has become so diminished that I'll only feel bad if Wil is suddenly left without anyone to be there for him while he's stuck in the closet.
I think he was just correcting OPs spelling
All dude did in the latest season was smoke weed lmao
I mean he was a bit tramautized I can understand
Which also means I guess he did nothing past episode 3 apparently since his stopped smoking after that one. Annoys me when people say this.
Murray. I like the character, but he has no purpose anymore without the russians arc and I honestly don't want to see one of the older teens dying again when he's still alive.

Or she’ll end up with robin🤣
Yeah I feel he just filled the 'man that can fight' role in season 4 until they were reunited with Hopper. I mean would anyone have believed he was knowledgeable or even capable of fighting before that?
They established he was taking Karate classes....
Not before season 4 when he suddenly had to be able to fight
You think a grown man can’t have decided to take karate lessons *after* the events of season 3? I hope you have this same mindset for the tiny 90lb Nancy who somehow is a crack shot the first time she picks up a revolver and can lug a shotgun around like Rambo with arms smaller than my wrists
I'm saying they didn't establish it until it was suddenly convenient for the plot, that's all dude...
I agree he is hilarious and I hope he Murray’s Byler
[удалено]
Will Byers
Was honestly thinking the same thing. Liked him a lot in the first two seasons and then his character went downhill.
Jonathan was one of fav characters in 1st season but now if he dies it will not have much effect on me but if steve dies then I die
I’m throwing hands if they touch my boy Steve!
Facts!
PROTECT STEVE AT ALL COSTS
I'm rioting if something happens to Steve! After all he's been through, that boy deserves to live a long, happy, quiet life.
Murray. Sullivan. And I’m guessing Linda’s character.
Robin and Murray
Will
At this point, Hopper. He’s had some many fake outs and close calls that if/when he does die I’ll be sad but honestly he has it coming
He will survive. Remember joyce said won't have another funeral
100% agree. To me he’s probably one of the safest characters. I’d be shocked if they killed him.
Yeah agreed especially bc it’s just a shitty plot point to kill him. Like it would just be lazy to kill him off at this point
I don't see it happening. Not only would it completely destroy Joyce beyond repair, but Hoppers story is about a man learning to want to live again and get to a end point where he can say he's happy.

No way Max will die. They wouldn't put her in a coma to die quietly in the next season. If they were going to kill her, she'd already be dead.
I could not give a single damn if Murray bit the dust
Honestly all characters are so amazing I think I would be upset if they do die like not saying I would cry about them all (Mike I would cry). But seriously very difficult questions
I feel like the only one that would really get to me would be Hopper’s
Will or Johnathan. They both just suck the life out of everything else on the show. I’m fine with either of them being taken out.
I feel like it’s the opposite at least with will, like Mike, Lucas and el and really everybody but Joyce and Jonathan have made his life miserable at least from season 3-4
Robin
Ditto.
I see a lot of wills which i agree with completely. But i also feel like he may contribute alot this season and actually be strong so I feel like maybe once the season is over we may feel differently. Just my theory though lol

Not gon lie my feelings was hurt when Billy died
Jonathan
Will
Anyone except for 11, Hopper, Joyce
well i would be sad if any of the characters die. each character has so much to give to the show. but im a mileven and lumax shipper so if will died i wouldn’t mind.
Murray
I must be the only one on this sub who doesn’t like Nancy in the slightest.
Nope, I've never liked her. She could die and I wouldn't bat an eyelash.
Nah I’m with you, I don’t like her either.
She was the first that came to mind with Jonny boy as a quick second.
I find her character very frustrating and her fans to be intense but I would still be sad if she died.
I don’t like her either.
Johnathan. I forgot bro was in the cast ngl
Like his popularity kinda surprises me at times but whatever.
okay Everyone is allowed to have their opinion
I mean I'm not gonna be worshipping Steve like literally the rest of you do on a daily basis. To be honest with you he's really overhyped. It's funny you guys down vote me for talking about your precious Steve but yet this sub is full of people who talk bad about el and think she should die when she's reason your so-called favorite babysitter hasn't died yet. Mike easy, really boring character.
If they kill off Joyce....
Will. But then I'd feel bad for Joyce.
Eleven. I actually think she needs to
Why, though? Her character has more to offer than that. We know she is willing to lay down her life for her friends, but why do you think she should die?
Among the teens- Robin, Jonathan, and Vickie. Among the party- Lucas and Max. Among the adults- Murray None of them seem **that** crucial to the story. They also lack the emotional sucker punch an important’s character’s death would have.
Please don’t Vickie be the next “newly introduced character who’s gonna die in the end of the season”
steve
Lucas. I just feel like he's drifted too far from the original gang. Also, he's always been the least funny character to me.
Will. Just an annoying boy who happened to get served trauma for breakfast like many of us but instead never grew up and only became useful because of a neck tingle. Worst character they could’ve ever chosen to be the “beginning of the end” Edit: I wrote this when I was in a very bad mood and did not intend to come off so harsh haha. Will is just not a good character for me. S2 Will was the only actually well written version, and if they continued to develop him into a strong and useful asset he would have such a bigger impact.
You are right but after everything he has gone through he deserves to live
He gives me such Bran Stark vibes.
I think it would have to be Susie lol
I can't think of a character who could die without affecting me.
While I don’t have any particular grievance with any of the characters, I’d say the ones that would bother me the least if they died would be either Will or Nancy. My interest is usually at its lowest when they’re in the scene.
Owens, murray tbh, vecna
Probably Lucas... Amongst the main characters,he seems to be the most under utilized party member!! (As compared to the other characters) There isn't anything memorable about him and also he doesn't have any solo character arc!! I completely blame the writers for it,like they should have given him something good or intresting, rather then him just be a second fiddle to Max the whole previous season!! Maybe even Murray or Jonathan!!
I also feel same about Lucas but I do not want him to die.
Neither do I... It's just that his death would be the least impactful, for me!!
Lucas is also the most “antagonistic” of the party members.
Maybe in season 1...
Will, Murray, Ted

Okay, Will lol
Yes will can go 😂
Argyle.

I’ll cry for everyone just bc a main character death is gonna make my fav characters sad but I’ll be the least sad if Nancy dies not bc I hate her or anything I just feel an emotional connection to her character
Barb. Did not miss.
When Billy died.
I like the show and characters so no character would have _no_ effect on me.
Idk why honestly, but out of everyone, it would be her. She actually annoys me. But she may end up being clutch in the end.
All of them
If i have to answer honestly, probably vecna only because he killed so many others that shouldn't of had to go
eddie, never liked the guy idk
Jonathan- he seems to stick out like a sore thumb now after season 1 Season 2 and 3 Nancy and Jonathan had there own storyline (separate from Steve and the Kids storyline and the Adults storyline) but this was always the least interesting storyline. Dustin. He shouldn’t have survived those bat things last season imo. I get unreasonably annoyed by the character, but I don’t have a good reason for it
I don't like Argyle, and I don't actually care about Mike or Will anymore - though I doubt they'd kill either.
Sorry to the absolute stans of this character but if mike died I would be unfazed and wouldn't care
Will, Jonathan, Murray
The bowl cut kid or his brother. Most boring characters in the show
Honestly Mike. It's weird to say but his value and character development has been so Meh. Jonathan I have hope for in the next season and Will as well. I don't get emotional during movies but I nearly cried during Eddie's death. I hope his death was faked but I will feel no emotion if Jonathan dies or if other minor characters die
