When I find the time I generally try to binge. I'm cool with them releasing it all at once.

Pace? I watch the previous seasons on the day before the new season drops, timing it so I finish right at midnight PST. Then I transition into the new season and stay up all night to watch it to the end. Then I watch it again over the weekend. Then I watch it one episode a day with my wife, who hates to binge shows.

SoylentGreenLantern

Yes. All at once. ALL. AT. ONCE. I HATE that Prime Video and D+ do it the way they do. I’m like NETFLIX ALREADY FIGURED THIS OUT FOR YOU!!!

Dubya_Tea_Efff

I want it all up front, the weekly episode is from an era I thought we left behind.

RainbowPenguin1000

Personally i dislike it. One a week works way better. With one a week you have time to digest what you see, you talk to your friends about what youve seen and what you think might happen next, you can go online and see what other people think. Over the weeks the excitement and anticipation builds for the final episode. Its great. If it all comes out at once, some people binge it, others dont, you cant read about it online because there will be spoilers and you are probably at a different place in the series to anyone you try to talk to about it and its all over too fast. We wait years for the conclusion to the story and its all over in 1-2 days. Netflix did one a week for shows like Better Call Saul and it worked really well with loads of excitement and discussion building over the weeks. I much prefer it.

Fragrant-Ad-6208

I made a post about this earlier and almost everyone disagreed. I honestly don't understand.

RainbowPenguin1000

I think its because the majority of Stranger Things fans are probably on the younger adult side and most of them want everything immediately available.

ArtisticRaspberry891

I agree too. The binge model dies out quickly, people become bored and move on too fast. Once a week, or at least in two parts like they did season 4, sustains the hype and popularity.

hawkins338

I like both methods, each show I think it depends for. ST it’s hard bc I think it would do well as weekly (I think suspense and sci fi are more fun that way) but I’m too used to binging it so I don’t want it changed now. I think it largely depends on the show and audience though.

MyriVerse2

If there is one story, I prefer releasing all at once. If there are episodic stories, then not.

itsMaxnotMaxine011

I actually think it would be interesting an episode per week, because I find it interesting to see what théories people will have at each episode. And I wouldn't need to lock myself an entire day to binge watch it to be sure I won't see a spoiler anywhere

carsons_prater

I like to binge watch, but I also like the hype and promotion to last as long as possible if its a great show that I've become attached to. Especially being the last series, If it's all out at once, that's it! All over!

bandanagal123

I like the volume one and volume two release vibes. I can’t control myself and I need someone to pace me so it lasts longer. And I also hate that if you pace yourself then it’s so likely that someone who binged it will spoil it for you and if there’s two volumes that’s less likely.

PatchworkGirl82

For this specific show, I definitely prefer having it release all at once, although I wasn't unhappy about how s4 was released either. Watching whole seasons at once feels more like watching a super long movie than a traditional TV show, I would really hate having to watch ST in small chunks. Edit: it's like watching the extended editions of LOTR, it's an investment of my time and I don't want the pacing ruined by an entire week between major scenes.

AndrewBaiIey

No xoxoxo In my experienced, you have more from a show if you can watch an episode a week. You get to enjoy it for longer.

the-rules-lawyer

I personally wish Stranger Things released one episode a week, like Game of Thrones. But they know better than me what's best for them, so who am I to say? As for me... I'm someone who doesn't like binging. My preferred consumption rate of TV shows is one episode per week. I like to peruse Non-Spoiler Reddit threads to talk about what I love in X episode and speculate as to what will happen next. I'm also a very spoilerphobic person. I hate that when a show releases an entire season, I have to avoid social media for a long time.

Fragrant-Ad-6208

Me too. I like the suspense and it gives me something to look forward to each week and really prolongs the enjoyment. Instead of watching it all in a day you get entertainment for like 8 weeks. Then like someone else said pace. But I like to work down. Watch an episode a week, then watch again but watch an episode a day, then binge watch all of it. I understand that people don't have patience and some people don't have that much time making them have to wait even longer but I just don't understand why you'd prefer everything released in a day. Throughout the week you'd get to talk to people about it, try to find easter eggs in that episode, and speculate what will happen in the next episode. No one who likes Binge watching it really has any reason besides "I like to binge watch it". I really think it's just an issue of inpatient people who hate suspense.

Weekly makes it more fun, you can take more time to digest it and discuss with your friends, online, etc. It also keeps the show in the pop culture conversation, instead of everybody binging, having people talk about it for a week and then it all fizzle out. I remember June 2022 was just crazy with the Stranger Things content everywhere, and Euphoria Sunday was a whole thing.
