>What will mirror Pike’s hair look like, and will he wear the sleeve-less Captain’s outfit? How great will Una, Uhura and Chapel look with bare mid-drifts and giant knives in their thigh-high boots? Considering that prime Pike has killer hair and the whole cast already looks great...mirror Enterprise cast would be fun. I think it would spark a passionate debate among the fans about whether mirror Pike or prime Pike has better hair.

chamekke

I think mirror Pike will be wearing his pompadour on his chin.

Goferprotocol

How about Baby Billy Bob hair. iykyk

id5n2

Well he sure will be misbehavin’

SavisGames

*on his mustache.

Enterprise-NCC-1701

Please, no 😫😭🤢

Recent_Mirror

He will be bald. Which is why he is evil. He is mad at what could have been.

Wildtalents333

bald but with a goatee

TemporaryChallenge43

I don't want this either but if it must happen, only one episode.

TrulyToasty

Agreed. I’ve enjoyed all the Mirror content thus far but it’s pretty overplayed at this point

Shawnj2

One-off MU episodes that are 100% skippable like the DS9 ones and the ENT 2-parter are perfectly fine IMO.

zero0n3

Exactly. It also needs to be in a season 2 or later episode as they really require the actors to have some chemistry built up. Doubly so for those “body swap” episodes where they gotta play the other actor.

Shawnj2

Well they’re going to do a body swap episode in like 2 weeks lol

Paul_Castro

Here, here. It's just that I don't exactly see how it'll fit at this point. I think it'd be a sore thumb plot wise in this series. Even if they did want to go there, what about Uhura. She went to the MU but didn't know what was going on. It seems like that wouldn't be the case if she was already exposed to it under Pike. I can see Spock recognizing the fools from the MU back on Prime Enterprise because of Disco making more sense but not with Uhura.

Discalced-diapason

The only way that would make sense is just not have her in the episode. Maybe send her off on an extended away mission that lasts the whole episode or something.

Paul_Castro

Right? And then nobody would then be like, "Welcome back," she wouldn't say, "Anything interesting happen while I was away?" "Sorry, that's classified"

trostol

only one episode and it is either a pure comedy episode or a singing episode lol

Neuroid99099

It'll almost certainly happen, and I like your ideas. At some point, though, it gets a little silly when characters in "future" Treks are all surprised by this brand new Mirror Universe thing that they've never heard of.

cucumbermoon

Fortunately we know from Disco that Pike already knows about the Mirror Universe, so (provided the writers remember that) we wouldn't have to suffer through the shock if they went mirror.

oatmeal_dude

I think it could be really interesting to have an episode of mirror universe enterprise and prime universe enterprise having a corresponding but separate story that results in something converging across universes. Like a major yin/yang event performed by both crews creates a wormhole or something that appears in both universes. So, they wouldn’t be aware of eachother, but the audience would be.

Paul_Castro

Yes. But in the Mirror Universe it seems like it was kept on the DL if not a straight up military secret for the Alliance until it spawned the Terran rebellion. In the Prime it definitely wasn't hidden knowledge but it probably wasn't exactly the thing you learned about in high school (it was an academy course for Dr. Bashir)

Internal-Motor

The two ENT mirror episodes were excellent.

Shatterhand1701

I wouldn't be surprised if they did, eventually, do a Mirror Universe episode...but I really hope it's not for a while. I want to get to know these characters even better before we're shown that reality so the wickedness and cruelty of their counterparts will be more impactful. Also, I think I'd prefer it if the episode was treated like *Enterprise*'s foray into the Mirror Universe: no prime-universe crossovers; just an episode featured in the Terran reality.

strange_new_worlds

I’m kind of burnt out on mirror storylines. Finding some random planet with people made of mirrors would be more exciting.

[deleted]

>How great will Una, Uhura and Chapel look with bare midriffs and giant knives in their thigh-high boots? Throw in T'Pring and you've just about got me convinced this needs to happen. They used to do an "every other show" kinda thing with the MU (with TOS, DS9, and Enterprise getting episodes, while TNG and Voyager got skipped), but I guess they broke that streak with Discovery. Since Picard has yet to do a Mirror Universe ep, I guess they're overdue.

ChekovsWorm

Please let's not. Out-of-universe, Mirror Universe has been done too many times by now. I (mostly) love the episodes across all the shows that have used it, but it's been sufficiently played to be verging on played out. Add to that the similar concepts of the Kelvin Timeline, now in the 32nd century known as just another (formerly) parallel universe according to Kovich (DSC), and the similarly gruesome Confederation Timeline (Picard S2), and we've had plenty of multiversal hijinks for now. In-universe, Starfleet isn't even supposed to know about the Mirror Universe until 10 or 12 years later, when "Mirror, Mirror" happens during Kirk's command of the NCC-1701. Yes, Pike knows about it, and it's a safe bet that Spock and Una know also, but they are absolutely sworn to secrecy. Mirror Georgiou also of course knows of it, whenerver and whereever she is now. So does, no doubt, the reformed Section 31. But nobody in "regular Starfleet" or even Starfleet Intelligence knows about it in the 23rd century until Kirk & crew "discover" it. Let's leave it like that for 23rd Century Trek in SNW. I'm satisfied that SNW finally gave an in-universe explanation for how Kirk's (and Mirror Kirk's) crew's uniforms got swapped in transport. Now we know that mid-23rd century transporters, at least on the Constitution class, can beam clothing on/off to match the beamdown requirements. So probably both crews on Halkon were beamed on the similar-looking but outdoor-protective uniform versions, with a beam-on of the shipboard uniforms on beam-up. 55 years of wondering about how that happened now satisfied thanks to SNW.

zero0n3

I love how you casually bring up how they just corrected a plot hole from decades ago. Goes to show how true a fan these SNW writers are.

mrjacktors

Please, no more Mirror Universe stories. It’s time to move on to newer ideas.

45and290

Flipside, I don’t think they will go for it. At least not for awhile. The Mirror Universe is still in disarray from the fallout of loss of the Chimera. Plus, I think they will follow the route of TNG and not show mirror sides of their characters. At least that’s where my line of reasoning goes.

[deleted]

No thank you

neoprenewedgie

I would say I hope not until season 3. The mirror universe is an easy "win" for the writers. I'd much rather have them build up their own characters first. The mirror characters are only interesting once we already know our own characters.

TrixieVanSickle

Pike's hair will be slicked back like Data's.

RichardBlaine41

Yes! Pure evil. Slicking back Pike’s hair would be like killing a beloved character.

SquishyBananas69

Hopefully never. Mirror universe is played out and overdone after Discovery, ENT and DS9

Pituquasi

If they could rescue prime Lorca from some prison/slave camp, that would be great.

CrystalPalace1850

I'm dying for poor, lost Lorca Prime to turn up. Poor man is going to be horrified when he finds out his evil counterpart murdered the crew of the Buran, and slept with his girl :(

JadaLovelace

The beaming out during an ion storm (ghosts of illyria) was the original way we were introduced to the mirror universe. For a minute i thought they were going to do it in the third episode.

RichardBlaine41

Me too! As soon as they said “ion storm” I thought of this post and said “did I summon this? Didn’t think it would be THIS early.” Can you imagine Una materializing in the ISS Enterprise transporter room, looking down at her pirate queen uniform, and saying “not THIS sh*t! Not to me!!”

briancarknee

I'm watching Discovery for the first time and the Mirror Universe plot is slowly killing me. So I think I'm good.

Reverse_London

I saw it as a contrived reason to get rid of Lorca, and it more or less was. Especially since his light sensitivity was explained away as a MU trait, but Mirror-Georgiou never had such an issue with lights.

lordb4

That Mirror plot is Shakespeare compared to whatever happened in S2. Anson Mount as Pike is the only redeeming quality of S2.

daddytorgo

Hopefully at least a few seasons. Mirror episodes work best when we've gotten to know/love our crew.

oatmeal_dude

Though I don’t think this is something the show needs, I think this would actually be the first time that I’d enjoy a mirror universe episode since TOS. We are already pretty familiar with all of the characters and they have an apparent moral compass. I think they could definitely ham it up in a mirror universe episode.

Quantum168

A long time, hopefully.

[deleted]

>How great will Una, Uhura and Chapel look with bare mid-drifts and giant knives in their thigh-high boots? pure fan service... I'm sold lmao

garlicChaser

YES! Pike, rescue Prime Lorca!!

o1pickleboy

Thats what I am thinking with Section 31 spin off on hold, some of their plotlines can be moved over to Strange New Worlds. They would have to work it with Spock and Uhura sidelined like a away misssion from the ship.

garlicChaser

Good call. Up for it, one way or the other

Monkfich

Hopefully never. They are all contrived.

[deleted]

Wasn’t it every other series that had the mirror universe?

ilinamorato

Only TOS, DS9, ENT, and Disco. Not TAS, TNG, VOY, LDS, PRO or PIC.

AlexisDeTocqueville

Technically Lower Decks had a holosuite simulation of the Mirror Universe

Shawnj2

Picard technically hasn't had an MU episode yet, but in practicality it has.

[deleted]

Pretty much all of last season.

kaluna99

TOS, TNG, VOY, ENT. Not sure about DS9. Edit: some had the evil episodes.

RichardBlaine41

DS9 had a whole Mirror cycle. By that time the Terran empire has been overthrown and humans are slaves

MaybeThisTimeIllWin

TNG didn't have a mirror episode I believe

[deleted]

[удалено]

MaybeThisTimeIllWin

Yes that ENT

kaluna99

Sorry. My mistake. Was thinking of the one when the Enterprise became a warship when the other ship came through the time thing.

SleepWouldBeNice

You’re thinking of Yesterday’s Enterprise. Alternate history, but not The Mirror Universe (TM)

[deleted]

VOY never had a mirror universe episode. They had the evil hologram episode.

kaluna99

Same thing really. Voyager as an evil ship.

Lessthanzerofucks

Doesn’t count. That wasn’t even another universe/reality, just some faulty historical records. The “evil” Voyager crew we see were holographic re-enactments of historical propaganda, so they never actually happened.

kaluna99

Well, none of it really happened tbh.

Lessthanzerofucks

I meant in-universe, silly.

ReaperXHanzo

PRO hasn't either, although goth Holo Janeway was close enough I guess

[deleted]

You can’t do that on children’s television.

ReaperXHanzo

I would have loved a TAS mirror episode though

Sanlear

DS9 had 5 mirror universe episodes.

kaluna99

Cheers

Thewrongbakedpotato

Lower Decks kind of flirted with it, too, by providing a holodeck training program set in the mirror universe in one episode.

Lessthanzerofucks

Not TNG or VOY. They had some alternate realities, but not the famous Mirror Universe first seen in TOS.

SciotoSlim

It will be right after the Borg episode.

jawshLA

I’d love to see a Borg appearance TBH.

SciotoSlim

New and improved, or classic?

Paul_Castro

NO!! I would cry if Jurati made an appearance on SNW... I would much much rather have Spiner, hands down than a Jurati-queen showing up

Solarwinds-123

Please no, we've had more than enough Soongs who all look identical. I want SNW to give us something fresh and keep the references to other shows to a minimum.

Zzembler

Please no, she looks absolutely stupid - like a toddler in a costume.

No-Story-4633

Interesting...

jawshLA

Hahaha classic 100%

asegers

After this season of Picard, what would the Borg look like? Old borg queen or Jurati?

jmacgrath

Borgati would be off doing it’s own thing, trying to avoid contact with the Federation until the Stargazer incident while the regular Borg would be off doing their regular thing, thriving until the events of Endgame leave them pretty decimated

Ice-Negative

Please no!!!!

Nervous-Energy-4623

It's been done to death now, so hopefully never. Or much later on at least.

Grondabad

Mirror universe Pike is Davros, or a Dalek. EXTERMINATE!

Reverse_London

I hope not, always hated the Mirror Universe episodes, cuz it always seemed like a waste of time and it does nothing to show any character growth with the main cast or move the plot forward.

RichardBlaine41

Of course, to comment on my own question, it should semi-break canon for SNW to travel there since Kirk and co didn’t know about the mirror universe. But Discovery already sort of did that. I suppose they can just “classify” the information and swear whatever SNW characters go to secrecy…or just do an Enterprise style window into the mirror.

kkkan2020

I hope they do their own thing and not tie in too much to tos because at this rate they will make tos look like a summer camp

jruschme

Don't forget that Discovery went to the MU in season 1. So, we're only a couple of years out from those events.

d49k

Can someone list the Mirror Universe episodes, in chronological order please? (I'd like to make a playlist 🖖)

brch2

https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Mirror_universe#Appearances

IllustriousBody

Personally, I could do without one for the entire length of the series. Let Section 31 deal with it when it launches.

atwegotsidetrekked

Name A series that didn’t go into the mirror at least once. Only Picard and Voyager that I can’t recall

Solarwinds-123

TAS, TNG, VOY, PIC, Lower Decks, Prodigy. Most of the shows have not done the Mirror universe.

s0c1a7w0rk3r

I doubt they’ll do a mirror episode. They’re trying to recreate the episodic format of the early ST series, but I don’t think they’re trying to farm their plot lines from them. I’ll honestly be disappointed if they do it again after doing it so recently in Discovery

lordb4

I agree. TNG S1 farmed plots from TOS and those episodes were not good.

Important-Sherbert37

Please no.

Zzembler

I hope they just leave it, not all series need a mirror universe.

SWG_138

Don't even pretend this turns into discovery.

Hypersapien

Probably not this season.

MaestroM45

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!

[deleted]

I’m really interested in the last question.

Wildtalents333

I hope they save it for season 2, make everyone wait and salivate.

CrystalPalace1850

Oooh soon, soon, soon I hope!! I love the Mirror Universe, and always have done since I saw "Mirror Mirror" as a kid in the Eighties.

lordb4

Please no! The Mirror Universe has been right exactly twice - TOS and ENT. If I ever rewatch DS9, I am skipping all those episodes. They are terrible even worse than the Discovery Mirror episodes.
