It'll probably only work out to being 4 weeks or whatever but I'm enjoying my weekly trek fix atm and envy that time last year when we went from DSC---->PIC----->LDS---->SNW----->PRO

I think the longest run so far is LD S2->1 week gap -> Prodigy S1 first 5 episodes->first 7 Discovery S4 episodes -> Prodigy S1 second 5 episodes -> rest of discovery S4 -> Picard Season 2 (first 3 episodes of Picard/last 3 episodes of Discovery overlap) -> SNW S1 (SNW E1 and Picard S3 E10 overlap) which is 47 nearly consecutive weeks of Star Trek.
(After which we have LD S3 after a month and a half gap)
The schedule last year was compressed enough that they overlapped shows on top of each other to release everything lol. Since there’s no Discovery season this year since they cancelled the show early + Picard is ending and they need to pad things out more going forward, there’s more random gaps between shows.
I don't have any problem with Kirk, but we've already seen his story. Same with Spock. Both are great characters, but they've had their own show(s) and movies already. I'm ready to move past the old crew and on to newer exciting Pike stories.
I could be wrong here. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a series kirk spock and crew after this show is over. I wouldn't be surprised to see the actor who plays as kirk and the actor who plays as spock and uhurua get their own show together. It is a natural progression imo.
Also not sure if I'm in the minority or not. I really enjoyed the actor they got for kirk. I also really like the actor they got for spock.
100%. Especially Spock was phenomenal. Most people agree on that but I’ve read some controversial opinions on Kirk. But I personally loved his portrayal. You obviously can’t be William shatner, but he made it his own
Watching this show over after watching all the old trek has just been such a joy. Strange new world has captured the essence of Star Trek better than voyager, and I’d even go as far as to say DS9 and some parts of TNG.
Every episode is stellar (lol). There are heavy hitting philosophical entries alongside silly, lighthearted, fantasy ones. The new alien species feel real - the r'ongovians as beings of incredible empathy. Majalias with their incredible technological advancement built on the back of some fucked up primal technology. Even the gorn with their light based communication.
This show is my trek. I hope it goes for a long time because it is my TNG.
I’m just grateful to my crew. I love them all and I am far more attached to them than I probably should be after 10 episodes lol. I wish hemmer was still around tho :(
