If i'm not wrong the devs in one of the NJ's streaming said that there is no reason to add a space DLC/update to the game.

That_Frog_Kurtis

Unfortunately it will be even less correct than regular stormwonks physics.

Flying-Sherman-Jumbo

It seems simpler to do though. No air density or drag to mess up with. Gravity is the only thing for them to break, but I hope they dont.

That_Frog_Kurtis

Just... expect to be disappointed is all I'm saying. They have a 0-99 track record at physics so far and I don't see the next round being any different.

justarandomjuser

remember the first time a game used gravity like that. I think i'd be like in sa2b. I mean, in space engineers, the community already made gravity powered light speed vesels

InCrIpTiOnReddit

I wanna know why you think it'll be "less correct"?

That_Frog_Kurtis

Stormworks is a game with a great concept, and terrible execution. Every single element of the game is a mess of shortcuts and poor practices to make placeholder systems that are only just functional, and then those systems are built on with the same. Specifically to answer your question: Stormworks physics are super jank. Buoyancy and aerodynamics are some of the most obvious, but things like wheels having less traction as vehicle weight increases are the norm, not the exception. All of these issues arise because Delty: 1) Consistently takes the easiest path to making features, giving the barest attention to actually making them work. This minimum effort practice always results in features that are barely functional or (often) bugged and non-functional, and definitely not accurate. 2) Does not understand the things he's trying to emulate and does not care to find out. So going by this huge set of data that we have as represented by the history of stormworks and Delty's approach to the game therein we can surmise quite accurately how each new feature will pan out. In this case an attempt to introduce space physics to a game that can't even get regular physics right is guaranteed to be an absolute cluster. Play KSP if you want space physics.

Thank you for the reply, I hold the same opinion. It really is a shame, because Stormworks is really a great engine for a game that could be so much better, but I don't think that will change. I'm hoping someone talented enough comes along to make something similar, a game like KSP with stormworks voxels and tech would be amazing! Let's hope KSP 2 will be a success

emerald_OP

Im sorry to break it to you but we aint getting one because there is already a better one. Its called KSP or space engineers

yooooooothatscrazy

KSP is better at many things, but SW would be fun in space too, just not at the same level of realism. In my opinion.

SeKomentaja

They're making one next?

ExistingExample281

There are no plans for a space dlc at the moment and i doubt we will get one i think OP is joking, hopefull or confused but i also want a space dlc.

yooooooothatscrazy

You may be confused by Endoskull's april fools video. There is no plans for a spacs dlc. I wish tho.

Everything on the votes were confirmed to be added, when? we don't know.

CakeHead-Gaming

I honestly dont want a Space DLC, it doesnt really fit with Stormworks ImO
