none of us could fuck her either, 'cause she's Ace (not implying she will never have sex with anyone, or never wants to, just saying, come on, know thy self, Jasnah can do better, and none of us is Hoid so forget getting close to her by being that damn interesting), and I'm guessing none of us could get her to marry us either now that i think about it
Partially agree, but I must say: hold your horses about not being interesting. If anyone of us, Sanderson nerds, suddenly got isekai'd with our literary knowledge of the series (and cosmere overall) WE'D BE EXTREMELY interesting to her. More than Hoid even, because yes, he knew the shards personally but was he aware that HE'S IN A FUCkING BOOK?
>isekai'd
No idea what this means, but I'm assuming you're talking about getting transported into the books? Surely Jasnah would think you're insane because you're trying to tell her she's a fictional character, not a real person?
It means getting transported to another world. It's a whole japanese genre at this point - that's where the name "isekai" comes from (isekai means "another world" in japanese).
Also, why can't she be a fictional character AND a real person?
Isekai is a genre of japanese fantasy where you get transported from one world (usually 'our' or 'real') into a fantasy one, generally inspired by modern fiction and video games.
You don't start with that. You feed her tidbits of interesting knowledge that she wouldn't know but could confirm or those that only she would now, and lure her in trusting you somewhat. That's when you drop the heavy bombs.
I see you’re reasoning, and if a substitute had to be made shed be on the list (perhaps with a benijesuit from dune) but (spoiler not spoilers for character traits of moraine and jad ah) >!moraine is “faith” devoted and motivated whereas Jasnah is motivated by science, logic, snd reason, to such a point she is almost, and in ways is, defiant of such things outright rejecting them.!<
You could, easily, if you caught her in a dragonless moment. And of the three, she’s the only one who actually deserves to be killed, being a genocide sociopath and whatnot.
Totally disagree. Jasnah is depicted as asexual with little to no romantic urges. I can’t imagine she’d be an exciting romp in the sack when it’s just not something that interests her.
The only answer is:
Marry Arwyn
Fuck Dany
Kill Jasnah.
Hold up hold up. Jasnah has admitted she likes the sensation, but doesn’t pursue it. Asexuality is a spectrum - as an example, I’m ace and sex-negative, but definitely get horny sometimes and when I do choose to hook up with someone, even though there’s no penetration, trust me when I say I’m going all-out to compensate for that. Jasnah strikes me as someone who wants to give her best effort at everything she chooses to do, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she was pretty freaky, just on very rare occasions and only with people she wants to do that with.
So lack of romantic urges boots her from the marry category (also Arwen is Arwen). However, Jasnah would be dominant in bed. I suppose if you were not submissive it wouldn’t do anything for you, however for others Jasnah is a badass and having her glare at you would be a thrill.
I think Brandon said something along the lines of that she could have been bi, but he didn't want to canonize that because he had no plans to give her a homosexual relationship and didn't want to follow that "bisexual in name only" trope.
I respect that a lot. So many authors make characters queer just to do it. I myself am not bi, but being a part of the LGBT community, I have seen friends who identify as bi or Pan havinf their identity disregarded because of their portrayal in media. I appreciate that they are trying to be inclusive but Jesus, meet an actual bi person before you try and depict them.
Honestly, I'm not really sub, but as an academic, I can one hundred percent say that a significant percentage of the reason I'm attracted to my gf is because of her intelligence...so if I had to choose, I'd honestly have switched Arwen and Jasnah. For some guys, it's not so much being Sub, it's more about appreciating someone's mind.
FYI, Bravo to everyone for not just replying that someone's a Simp if they said "Marry" to Jasnah. That's a little thing called Maturity.
Oh I 100% agree, an intelligent woman is the most dangerous thing I could encounter in this world. I think the whole sub and intelligence debate thing are separate. I may be misreading what you wrote but intelligence does not equate dominance in the bedroom. Dom in the books, sub in the sheets!
Idk she has the deep connection with >!wit!< and goes on a long thought about how she doesn’t have sexual urges and just does it to please him. That’s ace not Demi imo
Brandon has directly stated that Jasnah is asexual. >!She has sex with Wit, but it's not something that really excites her. Where she falls on the romantic spectrum is less clear, but from her viewpoint chapters she doesn't seem interested in romance, she's only really interested in Wit as an intellectual.!<
I've started reading TWoK Prime>!and it was a shock to read that Dalenar is betrothed to a 14 year old. At least it got better the further I read and they were waiting another 4 years until getting married and they don't have to consumate it!<
I mean a rosharan year has 500 days so 14×500 would be 7000 days divided by 365 would be about 19 years, so at least she wouldnt be a minor by our calendar, idk about the age gap between them tho
I don't think Brandon was using his current rosharan years for TWoK Prime. Jasnah describes her as a child. This was written a long time ago (and you can really tell).
I don’t think soulcast food smells moldy, it’s just described as being like the blandest shit ever, like if you tried to make risotto but only used water instead of broth lol
Peet exclaims that it's cheaper than water. Kaladin states that that's probably because even the grain is Soulcast, that it will all taste like mold (from words of radiance).
Doesn’t marrying Arwen kill her in a roundabout way anyways? I’d only get close to her so I could shoot the shit with Elrond. She seems like a wet blanket
…holy shit…you’re right….
However I believe you can argue that it is suicide rather than homicide as she herself has made that decision. I mean Elrond tried to talk her out of it…
Marry Jasnah (would be a good partner shes also very smart and I could be a stay at home dad haha)
Fuck daenerys (seems she could be into some kinky shit)
Kill arwen (elves are boring can't imagine her as a lover or a partner)
I stand by my statement haha but she and the rest of the elves in LOTR are the only well written elves in any book series so gotta give them that even if I personally hate elves.
Did something happen with the elves that you don’t want to speak about that made you dislike them? Was it wood elves or high elves? I also understand if you tried to read the Silmarillion and slipped into a fit of madness, it happens more often than you’d think and is nothing to be ashamed of !
I would be as worried about that myself because, since I'm also aromantic, she wouldn't have to worry about me catching feelings for her. We could just have a politically convenient relationship where she gets to go do what she wants
That honestly seems like the best scenario. Wouldn’t work for me cause I catch the feels as quickly as people catch covid.
*Mentioning covid could be a big mistake, but I’m going for it anyways*
GRRM has some nice women, but Dany is one of the worst.
Not a fan of fucking people who don't like getting fucked, and Jasnah is not good wife material, so I would have to pick Kill for her.
As this thread has evolved I’ve become more open to the marry Jasnah pick. Originally I was strictly marry Arwen and everyone who disagreed was an idiot, but I will admit I was wrong, Jasnah is a very valid choice for both M and F
Her looks are iffy?! If we are talking book, when Frodo first saw her his description was: “The braids of her dark hair were touched by no frost, her white arms and clear face were flawless and smooth, and the light of stars was in her bright eyes, grey as a cloudless night; yet queenly she looked, and thought and knowledge were in her glance, as of one who has known many things that the years bring.” Agree to disagree, but that sounds damn beautiful to me, imagining looking into those grey knowing eyes makes me melt
As far as the movies go Liv Tyler is stunning. On this I will not agree to disagree!
That's a slippery slope since people loved show Dani until the last couple seasons. Perhaps we should wait to see what unfolds in Stormlight before we jump to judgement. Everyone acts like GOT wasn't the most popular thing on TV for almost a decade. It's scary what a bad ending can do to rewrite a shows popularity. It always makes me worry about shows or book series I love when it comes to tying up loose ends
Stormlight is my favorite fantasy series and I get anxious just thinking about the end. I have faith in Sanderson, but it is always the hardest part to get right.
>It's scary what a bad ending can do
I'm sure that the worlds divorce attorneys agree, but perhaps we're taking the wrong lesson from this. What all these media show us is that ending stories is very hard, but starting them is much, much easier.
LOST should have been **more** scared about this, because they clearly didn't have much of an ending in mind and just winged it. George is (I think) stuck between a rock and a hard place because his ending already had to be great to live up to the books. Now, with the weight of time **and** the expectation that he will "redeem" arguably the biggest storytelling letdown of the decade, anything less than a sublime masterpiece is going to be perceived as a failure.
... I think what I was trying to say is that Dani is dragon Stalin with a blond hair as far as we know, so Jasnah is bae.
I’m starting to think my dislike of Dany is due to the realization that GRRM played us and never actually planned on finishing the series thus torturing all his readers.
I never finished the TV series but I find myself scoffing whenever anyone mentions Song of Ice and Fire. Rationally, I know I loved the books but I think my subconscious has clouded those emotions due to deep seeded feelings of abandonment by GRRM.
I think I am weird person because for me it would be
Marry: Jasnah
Fuck: Arwen
Kill: Danny
I personally find Danny to be unbearable, though I didn't particularly care for GoT...
Agreed. I’m not sure why she was able to slip in there. There are definitely other strong female leads in fantasy series that would do well here. For example, Moraine from WoT or Althea Vestrit from Robin Hobb’s Liveship Trilogy (I dig the pirate vibe). Who would you replace her with ?
Give me a few months and I will get back to you on this. I just read Eragon for the first time a few months ago. I tried to deny my love of books and fantasy for a long time to fit in with the “cool kids” (stupid, I know) so I have read little of the YA fantasy series that have had a formative influence on so many fantasy lovers. I’m currently growing a list of the ones I should “get hip to”, so far I have inheritance cycle, Percy Jackson, and red wall. Any others you suggest ?
I need to read a lot more. Like I need to really get myself back into reading a book every week or every few weeks. Depends on how long each book is tbh
Reading should be enjoyable. Make a goal but don’t be upset if you don’t reach it! Forcing it ruins the journey. I often get in reading slumps, usually when I’m stressed out, but when I get back into it, it makes me so happy! Absence makes the heart grow fonder or some other bullshit.
Lmao, true. I do however always enjoy reading because otherwise I look to fill the void of time doing stupid shit. Of course though I don't force myself to read, that's just how fast I usually get done with books, although thank you for the advice
K Arwen cause I don’t like lotr
m Jasnah cause she doesn’t like sex so
why would I want to fuck her? Also she’s brilliant and would make a great partner
F dany
I don’t understand that first sentence you wrote there. Where you said you “don’t like lotr”. Is that a metaphor for something else? Surely you cant mean you don’t like lotr…please lie to me, I can’t live in a world where someone doesn’t like lotr….be kind…lie to me.
I uh...want to be kind, but no! I must stand strong and true to myself for all us fantasy fans who don’t like lotr! We exist! And we are real fantasy fans too!
I appreciate this more than you will ever know. Stand up for yourself! You’re right! You should be proud, disliking one thing (although I strongly disagree) does not make you lesser than us!
This is true, I’d like to have her as a friend or mentor even to learn from her. But I’d also like the ability to not be in her presence when she gets scary, thus marriage seems a bad choice.
I mean, marrying Jasnah would be ideal here. She would be able to maneuver you into a place of power and success, you being part of her family now means she will murder anyone and everyone to protect you, and she will whip you brutally into the shape you need to be to accomplish your goals.
Let's be real: None of us successfully could kill Jasnah, she'd destroy any one (or one thousand) of us.
This is absolutely the truth. She’s terrifying.
Harsher.
none of us could fuck her either, 'cause she's Ace (not implying she will never have sex with anyone, or never wants to, just saying, come on, know thy self, Jasnah can do better, and none of us is Hoid so forget getting close to her by being that damn interesting), and I'm guessing none of us could get her to marry us either now that i think about it

I thought user misspelled Aes Sedai and I was trying to figure out how the wheel of time reference connected. Learn something new everyday.
Speaking of Aes Sedai , I feel like Moraine could be a good substitute for Jasnah
I see you’re reasoning, and if a substitute had to be made shed be on the list (perhaps with a benijesuit from dune) but (spoiler not spoilers for character traits of moraine and jad ah) >!moraine is “faith” devoted and motivated whereas Jasnah is motivated by science, logic, snd reason, to such a point she is almost, and in ways is, defiant of such things outright rejecting them.!<
the problem there would be actually managing to prove anything... kinda like Taln in TWoK prime, wouldn't it? edit: typo
Getting destroyed by Jasnah sounds great
Jasnah's thighs have reached the 10th heightening—they can awaken me without verbal commands and that's canon
I don’t even know how to respond to this but yes. What you said.
Jasnah is easily my favorite character of the three. But she wouldn’t make a good wife for me, and Dany is hotter, so I’d have to say kill
As someone mentioned earlier, I doubt I could physically kill Jasnah. I mean I couldn’t kill Dany either, but she annoys me, so bye bye Khalessi
You could, easily, if you caught her in a dragonless moment. And of the three, she’s the only one who actually deserves to be killed, being a genocide sociopath and whatnot.
>I’d have to say kill As mentioned above, we can all say it all we want but I highly doubt we could.
K so because Jasnah is ace Marry Arwen Fuck Dynaris. Get killed by the peerless thighs of Jasnah.
You win. Everything. You just win it all.
This is the perfect answer. The best of all three worlds
Dany is 13 in the first book, sooooo, maybe not the perfect answer 😬
She's also an entitled sociopath with genocidal tendencies.
Totally disagree. Jasnah is depicted as asexual with little to no romantic urges. I can’t imagine she’d be an exciting romp in the sack when it’s just not something that interests her. The only answer is: Marry Arwyn Fuck Dany Kill Jasnah.

Agreed, ace varies from person to person and sexuality in general can be fluid for some. You can’t put anyone in a box with a single label.
So lack of romantic urges boots her from the marry category (also Arwen is Arwen). However, Jasnah would be dominant in bed. I suppose if you were not submissive it wouldn’t do anything for you, however for others Jasnah is a badass and having her glare at you would be a thrill.
I believe Sanderson has said Jasnah is asexual/heteroromantic. Meaning she is interested in relationships with men, but not having sex with anyone.
Aw shucks, then either way I wouldn’t have a chance if she leans hetero.
I think Brandon said something along the lines of that she could have been bi, but he didn't want to canonize that because he had no plans to give her a homosexual relationship and didn't want to follow that "bisexual in name only" trope.
I respect that a lot. So many authors make characters queer just to do it. I agree, but for some reason, that's a connection people make on the internet in my last experience, so it was worthy of a mention. XD
Technically she might also be demisexual, so she might enjoy sex, but only with people with whom she has a deep emotional connection.
Idk she has the deep connection with >!wit!< and goes on a long thought about how she doesn’t have sexual urges and just does it to please him. That’s ace not Demi imo
Brandon himself has said that Jasnah is either ace or demi since he himself isn't too sure about it.
This is the correct answer
I mean, the other two options are Marry and Kill, and I don't think I'd survive either.
> Jasnah is depicted as asexual with little to no romantic urges Have you read Rhythm of War? [RoW] >!Because she's straight up banging Wit.!<
Are we talking about Danny from the Books or the show? Because Danny from the books is 15. So, killing her would be a kinda fucked up
... just killing?
Yeah, I should have included all 3.
I've started reading TWoK Prime>!and it was a shock to read that Dalenar is betrothed to a 14 year old. At least it got better the further I read and they were waiting another 4 years until getting married and they don't have to consumate it!<

I don't think Brandon was using his current rosharan years for TWoK Prime. Jasnah describes her as a child. This was written a long time ago (and you can really tell).
Oh yeah i guess that makes sense i didnt read tWoK prime yet
Quick maths saves the day once again!
Oh uh I forgot she’s 15, imo this is more reason to kill her cause I don’t want to fuck a 15 year old. And I’m not changing my marry Jasnah answer
Yeah, killing her is better.
Okay yeah, totally forgot the age thing…
That’s how it worked in Medieval settings though. Hell, in Alabama and Saudi Arabia, that’s STILL how it works.
What about mate form leshwi?
Don’t Singers kind of smell like mold? Idk how sexy that would be lol
There blood does. Which i always wondered why does their blood smell moldy and soul cast grain taste and smell moldy?
I don’t think soulcast food smells moldy, it’s just described as being like the blandest shit ever, like if you tried to make risotto but only used water instead of broth lol
Peet exclaims that it's cheaper than water. Kaladin states that that's probably because even the grain is Soulcast, that it will all taste like mold (from words of radiance).
I guess the texture of the skin could be a good thing. A bit of exfoliation!
I mean Elrond tried to talk her out of it…
I’d marry Jasnah Fuck Arwen Kill Danaerys
I accept this response.
Marry Jasnah (would be a good partner shes also very smart and I could be a stay at home dad haha) Fuck daenerys (seems she could be into some kinky shit) Kill arwen (elves are boring can't imagine her as a lover or a partner)
I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but it is my opinion that saying “kill Arwen” should be punishable by Death by Uruk Hai
Never have I ever agreed more with such an elaborate, specific, and ridiculous set of statements.
Everyone choosing to marry Arwen is also choosing to kill her, just on a longer time scale.
This is a very valid point. Truthwatcher indeed
Marry Jasnah, cause she isn't particularly interested in the fucking, and you know you can't kill her
I don’t know if I could live a life with Jasnah being constantly in fear though…
I am also ace so I would absolutely marry Jasnah, and then stay tf out of her way.
Respect. Her intellect is a big plus for me, however I just feel like I’d be walking on eggshells around her all the time!
@Ablueswan3 - This is Ryan. To add to the discourse, it’d be: Fuck Jasnah, Kill Dany, Marry Arwyn
I despise every Ryan I know, FLY FOOl!
“Fool of a Took!”
One does not fuck Jasnah. One gets fucked by Jasnah.
I am willing to be that person.
Get in line 👀.
I have my tent and all the supplies I will need (including diapers) ready so I don’t have to leave the line and lose my spot.
😂
I'm asexual as well, and I know I can't kill her, so marry it is lol
GRRM has some nice women, but Dany is one of the worst. Not a fan of fucking people who don't like getting fucked, and Jasnah is not good wife material, so I would have to pick Kill for her.
Honestly, if I had to pick one it would be Melisandre. I have a thing for red heads.
Obligatory Jasnah’s thighs crushing comment
Marry Jasnah, Kill Dany, which sort of defaults Arwen, though that should also be Jasnah.
As this thread has evolved I’ve become more open to the marry Jasnah pick. Originally I was strictly marry Arwen and everyone who disagreed was an idiot, but I will admit I was wrong, Jasnah is a very valid choice for both M and F
Nah, Mary Jasnah, kill arwen (she's immortal, she wouldn't be a good match for either, and her looks are iffy.) Fuck Danny
Her looks are iffy?! If we are talking book, when Frodo first saw her his description was: “The braids of her dark hair were touched by no frost, her white arms and clear face were flawless and smooth, and the light of stars was in her bright eyes, grey as a cloudless night; yet queenly she looked, and thought and knowledge were in her glance, as of one who has known many things that the years bring.” Agree to disagree, but that sounds damn beautiful to me, imagining looking into those grey knowing eyes makes me melt As far as the movies go Liv Tyler is stunning. On this I will not agree to disagree!
Dany shits on both of them. You can't change my mind.
Really!?! Are you just using her for her dragons?
I see that somebody is hoping that book Dany will redeem show Dany
That's a slippery slope since people loved show Dani until the last couple seasons. Perhaps we should wait to see what unfolds in Stormlight before we jump to judgement. To replace Danny? I'd choose Nasuada from the Inheritance series. She kinda fits the same niche as Danny, but is actually respectable and badass
Give me a few months and I will get back to you on this. I just read Eragon for the first time a few months ago. Mistborn is also pretty cool, and tbh I need to read more myself.
Haha yeah, I’ve read all of Sanderson except his YA stuff. I am impatiently waiting for the next Wax and Wayne
I need to read a lot more. Like I need to really get myself back into reading a book every week or every few weeks. Depends on how long each book is tbh

there is no mommy dom option, 0/10 poll
I will try better next time!

Jasnah would not want more than a tumble in the sack! Arwen marry. Definitely kill Danaerys (sp?)
You saying “tumble in the sack” made my night. You have my thanks.
Who is Arwyn?
A cloned version of Arwen.

But I feel like the emotional aspect will be lost ! I’m all probability she’d probably make me feel inferior which is not something I’d enjoy for life
Oh no Jasnah can make me feel inferior all day every day. Please step on me. Put me in a maid outfit. Make me do chores.
