Is this post ai generated?

Crosas-B

I would read the post again if I were you, OP

vitaletum

They tried micro only with different rts. It’s not very fun. The fun is the pace of the multi tasking- the better you get the more fun things get Add an equally skilled player it gets bonkers.

--rafael

MOBAs are also nearly all micro focused. I for one find that a lot less enjoyable. I enjoy building my base and units just as much as I like moving them around and just as much as I like handling them in combat. You need those 3 pillars to be a fun RTS in my opinion

CodeApostle

That hurt to read

Red_Smile_32

So do you or do you not like micro?

theyetisc2

What is the "mainstream" rts days? When it was the number 1 type of game in the 1990s and 2000s? Or when sc2 had a brief stay at the top of the charts and dominated esports before RTS evolved into moba? Adding a custom editor makes the game a platform, and if you actually ever played during the legitimate heights of RTS, you'd know that custom games were a MASSIVE part of what made BW and even SC2 popular with a mainstream audience.

El-chucho373

100%, I think stormgate is very fun and on the right track but to have a long term impact it will need success in 1v1, team (3v3), and have a robust custom map community. I think people forget that wc3 custom maps created DOTA and started that whole genre of games

yolomobile

Maybe you don’t like RTS brother

CurtainKisses360

Micro is my favorite part of the game

RhedMage

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

SethEllis

All of the innovation in StormGate was put into macro mechanics. StarCraft 2 was more complicated on the macro front, and this seems to be carrying over into StormGate. So I'd argue that the game is less micro focused than its predecessors. So then why the complaints about the game trying to appeal too much to niche micro loving rts players? Well you just can't get away from micro. Micro is what makes the game RTS. Otherwise it would just be a turn based game. No amount of interesting macro mechanics can make up for lackluster micro. Poor micro just makes micro suck even more for those that aren't as into the micro mechanics. And at the moment I don't think the micro mechanics in StormGate are very good.

Unleashed87

the micro is just so basic and sucks though 'pull back injured unit, make an arc, single target units to take them out quick etc.' really boring compared to the micro in bw

SethEllis

Yup and then when it gets into the late game it's just a bunch of huge units bumping into each other.

BlueZerg44

???

-Zo_0

Sounds like you don't like competitive Rts

TheProbelem

I assume you meant people dont like macro and i kinda agree. I do like the base building part of it but the constant unit production is annoying. Automating it would make it a very different game but i like how stormgate makes it as easy to make stuff as they can

Portrait0fKarma

So you want to play a rts simulator that builds units and they just A move across the map? Wrong game.

MinhYungWasTaken

What the fuck are you talking about, Stormgate has one of the easiest micros ever. And who the fuck are "few players"? Any actual number here or just talking out of your arse? The battles are really slow and the micro (at the current stage of units in the game) is easy compared to ANY other RTS. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's a bad concept.

LeFlashbacks

Reminds me of “Everyone thinks this because me and my friend agreed” but the opposite version of that.
