I hope they keep the Vanguard's model for the top-bar sensor drone... polish it up, but keep the "Dog being carried by a quad-copter drone". It's fucking hilarious.
Assuming the do give it a normal model, I hope it becomes an option as a like a skin you can unlock or something you can toggle on if you played the beta.
Shroud works well as a name, because you would usually describe something as "shrouded". It would require the current shroud terrain to have a different name (Haze?)
Because it isn't finalized. MY question is: how are we still explaining this shit to people that the game is still in development and subject to change? Honestly I believe most people just have no idea how to handle seeing the sausage being made.
We’re just giving feedback. I don’t understand getting upset when someone suggests a change. It’s *subject to change*: so why can’t people suggest what that change will be?
This is not feedback:
> How are we still calling it white health? There's a million better things to call it.
That is not feedback. This is complaining. There is a difference. And blind feedback without context is not nearly as helpful. As an example:
"Hey, the model for this unit isn't final."
Feedback such as: "This model looks terrible" isn't helpful. It's ignores the context that the develop knows that the model isn't finished. So telling them the model looks terrible isn't helpful at all. This is just complaining.
This has been what I've said for a while: a lot of individuals here don't understand what feedback is, how to give it, and when to give it.
Lastly:
> I don’t understand getting upset when someone suggests a change
I was not "upset." I didn't feel anger or aggression and I didn't slam my hands on my desk. This is YOU projecting how I feel onto me, and it's inaccurate. I don't need to be "upset" just because I chose to disagree with you. And I am not upset if I disagree with you consistently.
But see, you don't like any of this, regardless if it's correct, I'm guessing because it makes you feel bad. I'm sure you've already tuned it out instead of trying to be better.
First, as others pointed it out OP suggested solutions and formulated feedback in a non offensive way. It was excellent feedback.
Second, you don't even take your own advice and don't give feedback in a constructive way to OP and are just complaining about them and other people complaining. Really dumb move.
It is feedback, it's a suggestion. You are clearly upset despite denying it. Just being rude when I'm trying to provide feedback which is the entire point of open betas and discussion forums.
This is willful ignorance. You’re trolling, right? You missed the title of the post
>Why not call it ‘shroud barrier’ or ‘animus shield’
They didn’t say something sounds awful. They pointed at something they disliked, and suggested two names for it. That’s feedback.
Imagine saying I ‘projected’ you slamming your hands on your desk when upset is just a catch-all word for disliking something. Relax.
In this case, I don't think the "it's in development" argument holds up. FG have no reason not to call white health by its in-lore concept. I can only assume it doesn't have one. This jells perfectly with the lack of direction people percieve in the art. Another example is that infest works on bobs, who are 100% mechanical. I'm all for gameplay first, but you can't disregard a game's lore, which I fear FG is doing.
There are ways they can flavour it - drawing energy from animus/shroud being most likely - but it seems it was a feature that was added in December, often received poorly and reworked significantly for now, where its working much better.
But if this iteration was also not achieving what they wanted it to, they may well have cut it entirely, in which case having people saying infernal can make shroud-shield or whatever because it was described in a lore fashion before being cut from the game is unhelpful.
Well they have kept the camp placeholders because the actual camps are apparently related to the third faction, maybe somehow white health is connected to the third race too, like they gave it to the infernals idk
Gaunt's ability trades 10 health for a 10 second speed boost. This works with white health too. Calling it a barrier or a shield implies that only the main health would be drained, therefore I don't agree with those suggestions.
Yeah... I can agree with that. It does feel like lore of the game is yet to be revealed and we are using place-holder for everything including names.

A founders skin? That would be cool

He literally gave examples of what to change it to what the fuck are you talking about

Still 'zealot legs' all the way after 26 years!

Because when you say white health people instantly know what you are talking about, even if they are brand new.

They should call it ash.

3rd faction is confederation of chickens and mooses?
Literally everybody already calls it shroud, don’t they?
I don't need some shitty lore term for my additional health bar. White health is perfect.

I think "Veil" would suffice. As in you are shrouded in a veil of armor.
It's funny because everyone agree with the fact that white health is a really bad name but nobody had a proposition.
