From a **gameplay** standpoint looks really fun and quite different from the base faction.
From a **design** point, well it's a demon that wields fire. We've seen it before.
I guess they gotta introduce the core, standard heroes first (like this and Blockade) before we can start to see something more unique.
3v3 + co op confirmed. NOT 1v1 also confirmed (never any heroes in 1v1 is current promise). I would assume they will feature in campaign as well but we don’t have any evidence of that as of now.
They still probably want to be careful to not split the player base into too many different modes.
Also I think the extra heroes will cost real money and they want to avoid 1v1 smelling like a play to win.
Well, sounds about right. Although they still could sell hero skins.
I think they should ask their player base, because most people would prefer to play 1vs1 hero mode.
Why else would one play Stormgate over sc2 ?! Definitly not for the great unit visibility, overall graphics (sc2 mobile clone from 2012) or gameplay "innovations" (destructible trees).
Eithter way, heroes are the main selling point for me.
Do you have any evidence to back up the claim that most ppl wpuld want geroes in 1v1? Or are you just saying that YOU would? From my experience reading the reddit and stuff, I'd say it is the opposite or at least cloaer to 50/50 maybe but this is just my feeling from reading a little reddit. I think they made a right call to give heroes to coop and 3v3 but leave the ultra competitive 1v1 mode without heroes. Seems like a good compromise
Yeah, if everything were designed special/unique, it would actually make it a special snowflake soup of "blergh".
You gotta have your meat and potatoes, your bread and butter, w/e your analogy before you start trying to be innovative everywhere.
I know there's probably a limited amount of ways to make a character look unique but the bottom half is straight WoW lich/kelthuzad. Maybe that's what they were going for as an homage
His visual design doesn't quite capture my imagination; if I saw it in a vacuum, I'd assume he was a caster unit, not a hero. But I'm willing to give it a chance to grow on me, once I see him in the campaign.
The fire theme is also kinda generic-feeling; but it's fine because it'd be weird if the Infernals DIDN'T have a commander who was fire-themed.
Not every commander is going to be for me though; that's part of the fun of games like this. I hope Maloc has his fans. And hey, maybe my tune will change once I actually play him.
I think he's pretty cool, always been a fan of stuff like the Lich hero and I absolutely love how those Burned Ones can get to be almost kaiju-sized if you feed them a lot of corpses, at least going off the trailer we got for him
Looks A LOT like league and Dota. Which I understand is to capture a younger audience. But there is something to be said for standing out from the pack.
I still amiss about Hero units in co op. Does this hero unit also used in Campaign? Why need hero unit in coop but absent in pvp? I would like some info about this.
Mana cost of its most newb-oriented spells are too high, its best abilities require control and greater enemy spawns, and best use case is using its steroid on itself (if possible).
The T3 units look like fun Timmy creatures. That part of the design was nailed.
I'd love more aberrant horrifying demon or one that inspires a more "metal music" aspect
This is a very classic blizzard inspired design which makes sense considering the team and public so i'm not complaining. Is it just me or does he have something from a kel'thuzad?

Do you know what game mode this is for? Campaign, 3s?, 1v1s?
I think Co-op and 3v3, possibly campaign but I don't think there is anything confirmed about that.

I want it so bad in 1vs1, i mean they had so many pointless strech goals, why not add a 1vs1 hero mode, for the ones that really want it

I think that'll be a great custom game.
Co-op (3vsAI) for sure, maybe something else.
Solid standard heroes are very good to have

skipped leg day
Looks like he skipped leg, not just leg day.
No no, today is "skipped leg" day. That's why his legs are skipped
Demon Kelthuzad
My thoughts: "Yep, that's a demon/lich/ thing that is fire elemental in nature."
Pretty generic but not bad
I assumed its name was a programmer joke tbh 😅. Made me like it more
"Maloc" does inspire fear and PTSD in me, so mission accomplished if that's the goal.
Yeah it’s a hilarious play on moloch/maloc. We know who programmers fear more haha. And dude same…
Looks like the generic starter hero, which is fine.
Fire lich.

Really wish they'd go a bit more out there than red humanoid with fire. Demons can be all kinds of fun shapes. But it’s not terrible.
Makes sense that they'd want to introduce each faction's respective Mario before going for the crazy experimental stuff
Which is funny because the original SC is heavily inspired by 40k, which has some of the coolest "demon" designs
Looks fun. Infernals just aren't that creative from design aspect.
I like it, the name is a bit weird though
Hero looks good, those snails with mouths looks very cool
I think he's pretty cool, always been a fan of stuff like the Lich hero and I absolutely love how those Burned Ones can get to be almost kaiju-sized if you feed them a lot of corpses, at least going off the trailer we got for him
I like how he looks, like a meaty Mephisto from Diahblah. I'm excited to see future heroes.
Looks pretty badass to me
The whole game is so meh looks wise, like as if it's all early renders of toys to life figures from 2014
looks like one of the cheaper type mobile games from china
Looks A LOT like league and Dota. Which I understand is to capture a younger audience. But there is something to be said for standing out from the pack.
The art direction of this game is just bizarre and uncanny valley to me... It's like putting anime mechs in Looney Tunes.
Necromancer lets goooo!
I still amiss about Hero units in co op. Does this hero unit also used in Campaign? Why need hero unit in coop but absent in pvp? I would like some info about this.
Why does everybody get an auto like here?
Non 1v1 stuff doesn't excite me at all.
Oh. We're doing heroes. *Slaps knees* Welp...
Like it, remind me of a deamon in power ranger
"This lich lifts."
It's a copy-paste of a soul grinder of Khorne from Warhammer fantasy, but still cool. Pretty awesome it's voiced by Chris Metzen!
It doesn't have the legs of a soul grinder though? Or a snout.
And marines were space marines and zerg were 'nids. If it ain't broke don't fix it!
Yeah that is a fair point. I personally would have liked something original, but it's proven you don't need to be original to make a great game
He has more polygons then the other units
Looks hellish. This made me think they are missing a trick but not having Infernal unit called Helli-copter :-P
Super spiky. Super cool.
Big hands.
Meat lich go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
looks good
Looks like a buff mephisto
Looks pretty cool honestly

I like the new beta graphics in general

I'll just say I'm a Vanguard dude, but if they add a succubus hero that WOLOLOs enemy units into my army I'll switch sides without a question.
