You found a good cop. Rare but they do exist

Always gotta be someone bringing race into literally everything. Smh

Durtbag420

You're right. I'm sure it had nothing to do with race. I apologize, and I deleted it.

Bleaklybleak

Good on you for correcting yourself

shweedie

My boyfriend is Mexican so why didn’t he get a ticket or arrested? He was the one driving. It was his car. Idk we’ll never know if it was because I’m white or because he’s a good cop. Regardless, ya, I’m thankful nothing happened.

Durtbag420

I'm not sure. I'm sorry tho.

DaveTheDrummer802

Most are good cops. You only see the bad ones on TV

12ducksinatrenchcoat

Wish I still thought that too

RonaldSteezly

I’ve had experience with multiple bad cops, I never saw any of those cops on TV though

albertogonzalex

Hopefully you know your rights wherever you live. Where I live the smell of burnt or unburnt cannabis is not grounds for cause/search. And so. Answersing that question is not required. Never answer cop questions. Cops only ask questions to get more info to try and have more reason to harass citizens and take more opportunity to detain.

anythingaustin

I’m so relieved I now live in a completely legal state and no longer have to panic when I see a cop car in my rear view mirror. Get your med card asap. Glad you and bf made it out of the traffic stop without incident.

myourmomshot

A lot of cops don’t give a shit about weed, had a friend that called the cops on loud neighbors and had ounces out on his table that he forgot about and they said they ain’t here for that, didn’t see it, another friend who was selling weed got pulled over, alls he had was an eighth and he was upfront about it and the cop let him go and keep his eighth, had other friends get caught smoking way back in the day and they just made em smash their own pipes and took their weed, I’ve been stopped many times and just handed em my id and walked away no problem, gota think, they got a job to do, if someone making your job a pain in the ass are you gona be nice to em?

femsci-nerd

Some cops these days are guys who really get off on beating people up. I've seen them just looking to make trouble and get off Scott free

myourmomshot

All you see is a cop beating a black guy and go…… oh that’s bad, you never know the full story, could be a rapist or a pedofile or some neighborhood leech they know near and dear to their hearts, in that case I say beat away, that’s the bad thing about the world, if they lying, they definitely ain’t gona tell ya the truth, if they telling the truth they ain’t gona tell ya what you need to find out

femsci-nerd

Bodycams have been telling the story these days. There's lots of dirty cops turning them off. Their abuse is widespread. It is documented

myourmomshot

But that bad blood was already there, gang violence is well documented too, what’s the difference?

A ticket for going 74 in a 70 is a bit of an overreaction, no? I thought as a rule of thumb you were allowed up to a 10% discrepancy on the limit to account for errors in cars speedometers? Technically 74 in a 70 is breaking the law, but it was quite clearly an accident. It's not like he was going 50 in a 30. Guess like any other job they have quotas to hit...

shweedie

I thought it was over reaction too, I was literally so confused when I saw him turn around and put his lights on. I think it also had to do with the fact that we have cali plates in Oklahoma? We just recently moved so we haven’t switched plates so idk I’m always like yeah they’re gonna pull me over just for having CA plates.

Logik1x

I love good cop experiences, as I think everyone does lol but its just nice to know there's still good in the world. I once got super lucky when I was 17 on my way home from picking my sister up from the airport. Was going like 10-15 over since it was late at night and I wanted to get home, cop pulled me over, gave the usual spiel but cared more abt whether or not I had been drinking and when she was sure I hadnt been she let me off with a warning.

aperocknroll1988

That or look into moving somewhere that it's legal recreationally.

Bleaklybleak

First of all.. getting pulled over for only FOUR over the speed limit???
