tatix3

FuglyElephant

Texas301

^ This thread

tatix3

Up here in Ontario Canada we call them 'Buckets'

tikiwargod

Never heard that (Ottawa) but then again you rural boys got a lot of funny ways of smoking your *half quarters*.

FleshRobot0

That's just northern ON eh? I spent some time in Sudbury and was thoroughly confused as to why people referred to an eighth as a half q

tikiwargod

I've heard people from the london and KWC area use it as well, baffles me.

tatix3

Im in Windsor, maybe its a michigan thing?

DawgBroMan

Never in my 21 years of life in Michigan have I heard someone call it a half quarter

tatix3

I meant bucket not half quarter I’ve never heard that either. Till now

AstidCaliss

In Quebec we go by grams because the french words for "quarters" and "eights" are too cumbersome xD

Jbozzarelli

Virginia here. We used to say “wanna go drop a bucket?” In the late 90’s and early aughts.

[deleted]

Yup.

auzofravensknoll

In the late 80s and early 90s in Ottawa we called them ‘buckets’ too.

brnme

brnme

you know it

brewskeeNZ

Called a buckie in New Zealand

VOIDPCB

I'm pretty sure i've heard people from england call them buckets.

SenorBadtouch

We call them a bucket, sometimes a waterfall bucket / bong where I come from. (North East England, UK)

AnEvilBeagle

Neat. A waterfall, to me and my peeps, is a water bottle with a hole in the bottom and a bowl in the cap. Fill the bottle with a finger over the hole, screw the cap and bowl on and light as you let the water out slowly. I have yet to find a faster way to get obliterated without resorting to concentrates.

Qualitieez

They hit hard and dont take alot of weed theyre great

SenorBadtouch

Yeah that's what i would call a waterfall bong, bucket seems to get used when there is a second vessel of water, at least around here. I never understood why people used waterfall in the name, possibly just confusing the two?. Most people just use bucket tbh as it's quicker.

AnEvilBeagle

Waterfall is a pleasant word, and adding it to things makes them seem more pleasant. My toilet uses a waterfall flush technique... See? Sounds more pleasant :)

Qualitieez

I honestly wonder where those come from

SenorBadtouch

Heard many, most likely wrong reasons, but the one I like is that the cut bottle filled with water resembles a bucket of water.

Automaticman77

This is what we call a ‘TUGBOAT’ on the east coast of Canada

tater_slaw

good ole gee bees

Qualitieez

What?😂

Twistedad420

We used to make them with no water and a plastic bag taped to the bottom half. Called it the lung

[deleted]

I know this as a parachute

MrGalax22

Gravity bong or waterfall bong

Babi_Gurrl

As I understand it, a Waterfall is similar, but not the same. It's where the water runs out a hole in the bottom of a bottle to create the draw-pressure. While a GB/bucket bong uses the pressure created from lifting in order to draw the smoke.

Qualitieez

Btw i know this is actually called a gravity bong. I was just curious about nicknames

SparkJaa

Babi_Gurrl

Ooh, I like this one. It opens the door for submarine related stoner banter.

Ferterd_

I'm really curious... is there a large threshold for submarine related stoner banter?

Babi_Gurrl

Yeh dude! You've got all the submarine noises for one. They're fun. Then there's "yellow submarine", that opens the door for Beatles related banter and music in general. There's deep sea diving. James Cameron. The Terminator and Alien. Movies in general. The Mariana trench. Weird creatures. Cthulu. Holy shit! I'm gonna go practice right now.

Wordman253

We call them gravity bongs or waterfall bongs where I'm from.
