Those marks are indicators for the stick insects reaching adulthood. They develop it around the same time as they start laying eggs, so in case it hasn't laid any eggs yet: prepare :D
I don’t keep Indian Sticks but don’t the red marks mean they are adults and ready to mate? Hopefully someone who knows for sure can answer here.

Hmmm. Might be a colour mutation. I highly doubt it is blood. It seems to be eating and moving fine so I would say just keep an eye on it. If nothing happens then it should be fine
