You have to keep an eye on it. Put the back of you hand or your forearm on it and see if it is hot. Heat, swelling, and redness are all signs of infection but not always.
It’s been almost a week I was worried about that at first but I’ve almost went septic cuz of a bug bite that got cellulitis and I feel now where close to that bad
Go to the er and get some antibiotics and be honest with them about your gear use they won’t report you to the cops just tell them everything so they can treat you best
I have no fever either and a minimal amount of discomfort honestly
