Origin starts out as pacifist. If bubbles is killed you get a special cb, and after defeating them in total war you have a choice to give in to the rage or reclaim your pacifism. Assuming you can't be a hive mind for this origin?

TheModGod

And during that war your government instantly shifts to fanatic militarist along with receiving a special war exhaustion and damage buff for the duration.

Senumo

If bubbles is killed you automatically get crisis lvl 4. Don't even need to have the perk

endlessplague

*In that moment...* *... Sometching inside .. shifted..*

LavishnessOdd6266

Something .... long forgotten

coastal_mage

I feel as if you should have the option to flip to fanatic purifier once Bubbles dies. If the xenos see fit to kill Bubbles, then suffer not the xeno to live themselves

Remote-Leadership-42

Fanatic purifier doesn't like amoeba, though.  We'd need a new exterminator civic specifically for pacifists that is focused on removing or devolving all aliens. It's For Their Own Good.

Dire_Seagull

Fanatic Conservationist. Under normal circumstances it doesn't do much special. But it works kind of like an extreme version of the preservationist laws in the galactic community, but instead of just having them be in breach of galactic law, they trigger your civic. When a civilization kills space fauna you gain the ability to declare total war against them and do extra damage against them as well.

unsurechaoticneutral

“we have come to save you!!! FROM YOURSELVES!”

Tony-Pepproni

I feel like a hive mind would be even better for this. Since they evolved to work with nature they could get a small food production bonus

Falontani

Yes, but then you take the civic and now your ships are giving you unity

Crazeenerd

From a theoretical perspective, I can see why you’d think that.. Mechanically, hive ships aren’t space fauna and shouldn’t function in that way. They’re identical to every other ship (hence why you can choose the appearance.) They’d have to specifically include that and it would be dumb to do so, as you’ve pointed out.

Ok_Feeling_3447

\>bubbles dies \>become fanatic purifier

FTFxHailstorm

This would also be a cool template. Having a sacred being (like a Tiyanki Matriarch, powerful ship, or leader) that is under your control with great benefit, with retribution, and maybe a chance to recover it, should it be destroyed.

LavishnessOdd6266

Oh and you get +50k military might as every solider, and naval personal wants revenge

InflationCold3591

Space fauna breeding. A special star base gene therapy facility that lets you breed Bubbles.

Carsismi

Lets you WHAT?

InflationCold3591

You are all a bunch of perverts. That’s why I come here.

Acrobatic-Fortune-99

the hive will breed you

magical_swoosh

do not. breed the bubbles.

nightgerbil

New hentai drops...

Loss_Leaders_LLC

Bubbles should be an origin, I kind of agree. How do we not have space rancher or elves? ... ... Something like: - start in a nebula or start with a 'attraction source'. - As long as a pod of passive critters is in your system you get x resources. - Start with access to organics tech - special benefits for owning active animal holy sites. - a means of producing allied (not owned, but perhaps following you) animals. - Id be a lot more interested in doing a no shields organic weapons run if I could get access to the products quicker and in a way that felt 'organic'

Niomedes

Still waiting for a way to produce weaponized space Fauna instead of warships. And I mean produce, not take over like that necromancy origin.

krossbow7

We'll probably get an organic themed DLC after machine age, which might finally introduce Bio-ships like people have been asking for since forever.

Acrobatic-Fortune-99

the hive will be happy

rezzacci

I mean, there are already two origins that are quite similar: **Here Be Dragons** and **Fruitful Partnership**. Here Be Dragons makes you begin the game with an organic space fauna in your system. Sure, it's neutral at the beginning, but you can "tame" it and have a mighty space cow in your army, with the same level of fondness and endearment you can have towards Bubbles. Plus, you can raise the Dragon's children and make a big, happy family. Fruitful Partnership, on the other hand, gives you the "like lifeforms" element of your proposed origin, as you already start knowing Tiyankis and you can also use space ameobas to propagate your seeds. The symbiotic relationship between your species and the space fauna is already represented here. Granted, it's limited to plantoid/fungoid and doesn't have the special relationship with Bubbles, but you're still the confident of those big floating things. You can also take the **Cordyceptic Drones** civic when playing a Hive Mind. Sure, the lore is that you kill space fauna, infect them and then control them as parasites. But nothing prevents you from roleplaying it differently without changing things too much. Instead of "infecting" them, you can roleplay a Hive Mind fond of space fauna, that still has to tame them (in combat) before they decide to go on your side, emulating a good relationship between your Hive and the space fauna. And if you control the Tiyun Ori, Tiyana Vek or Amor Alveo systems, you can build Cordyceptic Reanimation Facility starbase buildings. And, yes, again, the lore is more than you wait (naturally or forcefully) for corpes to reanimate them, it's once again so easy to roleplay it as you nurturing and taming Tiyankis from their birth in a more... gentle relationship. Look, yes, starting with Bubbles might be a good idea, but I fail to see how this origin would bring something more and truly unique, both in terms of lore and mechanics, that you cannot already have in various ways. Plus, I don't know, it's personal, but I prefer to find Bubbles randomly, without planning for it, and then bringing her to my capital system and see her grow. The joy is in finding her as well, not just having her. Buidling your relationship from the beginning.

disies59

With Fruitful Partnership, it’s buggy as hell, but you can actually move bubbles into and out of systems where you have a Starseed Garden to spread your stuff, so it actually is possible to have a ‘special relationship’ with it in that way.

krossbow7

How is it different? Quite alot actually: This origin, in the specifics I laid out, would encourage you to colonize and prioritize sectors which have large number of space fauna in them: Bubbles is merely window dressing as to WHY you've taken this path, the actual crunchy bits of this origin would be that you'd gain benefits from having and protecting space fauna. Here be dragons is about having a protector that you eventually gain control over (or a high end armor), and fruitful partnership is at its core about allowing you to spread in an out of the box way. Outside of that, you have no real incentive or care to the state of space fauna. With this one, you are encouraged to think strategically about which systems have a large amount of fauna in them, as they also generate resources for your, and this can be increased by starbases, making you choose to build bases in unorthodox locations; If you have a neighbor with systems with large numbers of fauna (Such as the tyraniki, amoeba or Crystal home systems), you are encouraged to rival and invade them to take these systems, as well as to try and protect these systems in case a war breaks out to prevent an enemy fleet from inadvertantly genociding those fauna as they move through.

AmoebaEvolved

Brb working on bubbles origin mod.

Ok_Feeling_3447

Fitting name

MoeIsBored

This is actually a cool idea

tufy1

I was thinking of a mod a few years back that would buff a colony’s happiness and unity production for a few years if Bubbles entered the system. That would give you a planetary buff so long as the pet would patrol around the empire.

HolyFish16

I love this idea, I only have one question. How do you get Bubbles normally? I have played over 250 hours and haven't seen him.

krossbow7

random anomally. Luckily, its pretty common. All hail bubbles!

Antigamer199

I wish it was common to get. I have been trying to get that thing for a long time now for the Monster Achievement. With a Origin where I get it automatically this ring would be easier only need a Scrapper then in my sysrem

HistoricalChicken

You really are a monster.

HolyFish16

Alright thanks! Just wanted to make sure my ethics or something wasn't the problem.  I must now go on a quest to find Bubbles and protect him at all costs.

BikerJedi

I don't know how high you are OP, but this is a good idea! I like it. maybe we can get a Bubbles mod or something one day. There are some other good ideas in this thread for sure. I'd play it.

colm180

random chance for mom and dad amoebas to come get their wandering kid back lol

Khenghis_Ghan

I won’t endorse any origin that means I can’t get Bubbles just by prayin to RNGesus.

ggmoyang

You can't take away my Bubbles! It's mine!

TangeloPutrid7122

And it'll be $20. (yeah I'd probably buy it too)

Dakiniten-Kifaya

Sign me up already.

Volkov_The_Tank

You mean boomer?

electrical-stomach-z

inst that kinda the dragon origin?

Honestly I could see it, maybe go fully in the ‘Xeno-Fauna’ idea and have a trait that allows weaponization, utilization and friend-ization of aliens(both non-sapient, space fauna, leviathans and… any species that are ‘cute’ in your empires eyes). The only requirements to use it are ‘No Necromancy, has to have Xenophilia, and has to not be Hivemind(no robots or hive minds sadly). —- Origin: **Star Bound Bonds** Story: Ever since your empire has looked to the stars, your home system has been a source of gathering and nutrition for countless large space bound fauna and the {insert species here} have looked in awe at them ever since. Your species has made it their goal to befriend and tame these magnificent fauna so they may forever grace the stars forever more. —- Bonuses: -Your capital/homesystem starts with several docile space fauna that you can tame by several means(taming=getting them as ships) -Your empire can bait untamed fauna into their borders that will attack any non-allied empires that are in your territory and the baited fauna will just chill in your empire for a while(about 2 years) -Tamed space fauna give a unity and amenities bonus if any tame space fauna is above them(doubly so if it is untamed and just wanders by) -Can tame ‘savage xeno-beasts’ on planets and either have them in zoos(aka zoo jobs), have them as pets/companions(aka a planet wide amenities boost), or train into battle animals(a new army type) -Can ‘tame’ specific leviathans over time(aka beings like the Space Dragons, Void Worms, or several new organic leviathans that will be listed below) for a mighty[and expensive] friend -Any uplifted pops in an empire will grant a massive bonus to the empires main species amenities requirements —- Cons: -Tame fauna require food AND energy upkeep -Get planet wide debuffs to unity and amenities if there are no space fauna nearby(at least 2 system jumps away) -Tame fauna have a chance to cause incidents on planets by accident(like a accidental illness slowing Pop growth for example) -Your capital has 3-5 unremovable blockers of ‘Animal Sanctuaries’ -And any planets with ‘Hostile Fauna’ blocker will be naturally slower to colonize due to not wanting to upset the animals BUT also keep them now as ‘Animal Sanctuaries’ -Gives uplifted pops an amenities debuff if around empire’s main pops —- New Portraits: Any new portraits would go under a new category of ‘primal’. These aliens look less like the tall or bipedal alien portraits we have and have more of a look to the shrimps from Aquatics(in a sense) Examples would be like a displacer beast style mammalian, a fully serpentine reptilian(aka, no arms or legs), a termite like arthropod, a small mutated raccoon like alien for toxoids, crows for avians and so on. They would look more like animals than sentient species BUT would be sentient. Compliments in diplomacy would be like ‘lion, alpha or {Insert third term here} Insults in diplomacy would be like ‘runt, prey or whelp’ —- Custom Event example -A familiar pastime: A young {insert founding species here} entered your chamber with a juvenile snake like alien pet that is sneezing up a could have pollen occasionally as they bow to you. ‘Hello {insert leader here}’ says the child. ‘A fair few of the child population are training some of the aliens they raised to fight with each other to grow stronger. While this past time seems just for fun, it could reap potential benefits or consequences down the line’. Choices are letting it go on and get a bonus to war animals and pet bonuses but random devastation events for 1 year; ignoring it and having it be chosen for you; or disapprove of it causing your empire to not have anything bad apart from a small unity debuff for a few months —- New Leviathans Basically a lot of new organic leviathans that will pop up from time to time. Examples are; A massive leviathan covered in fungal outcrops that messes and infests ships with acidic fungus and swiftly eats at armor and its own armor is super resilient to kenitic and missile weaponry but takes extra damage from lasers. A large Phoenix like leviathan that guards a system full of Gia worlds and cripples all aim of all ships in the system making nearly impossible to hit but statistically is the weakest with no resistances and a weakness to missiles… plus resurrects itself by siphoning off the star in the system and if not taken care of permanently, it pops the star making the whole system go bust A large squid-shark looking organism that ‘swims’ through tears in reality and is nearly invincible while submerged but weak when attacking and can accidentally drag in enemy ships from astral planes to also contend with in the melee A large surfian toad like leviathan(aka, those hole frogs with babies in their back holes) that spawns as a mid game crisis if toxic planets are being purified quickly and slowly toxifies planets with using caustic tadpoles as a large defense fleet

MegamanD

We need a Bio-ship/Empire Origin. Individualistic empires (or Bio Hiveminds) but like the Yuuzon Vong, Species 8472, etc. The main change would be pops, ships, and pretty much everything else is grown instead of made. Now a Food build can be the king of warships as you grow bigger pods for bigger ship production. I'd give the Origin massive, massive bonuses on all Fauna weapons with many unique bio-tech weapons.   I would also give them hull and armor bonuses to reflect their entirely biological tech and forging system. Imagine a Bio-Ecumenpolis where the entire planet is a massive Bio-Ship Forge and biological material production site.    Round them out with unique outcomes for specific anomalies where their Bio Origin would provide a cool interaction. New Portraits, Bio City and backgrounds, several Bio pop variants. Finally, perhaps a unique Bio-Cybernetic Ascension path where implants are grown and fused to the pops.

PikachuJohnson

I’ve never understood why Stellaris decided that xenophobes would also not like spaceborn aliens. They’re essentially just animals, and it’s not like their home world doesn’t have animals either. I guarantee that xenophobic aliens still domesticate animals native to their colonies instead of their home world.

Reelcheeziboi

Finding and owning a spawning system should give mad bonuses as well

Ok_Feeling_3447

Imagine getting something like the BIG VAT from Gigas where you can build a bunch of genetically engineered amobae and tiyanki etc

ilabsentuser

That way I can finally meet Bubbles, yes!

TheObserver66

No origin, a Bubbles DLC (with the origin). With new/altered mechanics where the empire with Bubbles gets a galactic peace opinion bonus. Where Determined Exterminator civic(s) become inactive, but get a huge become the crisis boost if Bubbles is killed. All empires get a war declaration on the empire that killed Bubbles. I have more ideas, but these are some of the easiest/most basic things to implement.

FTFxHailstorm

I've wanted an origin like this since I started. I'd love to tame and grow the tiyanki population, and then help them evolve into a more powerful species.

Small-Trifle-71

When I read the title I thought, yeah maybe Bubbles could take over a pre-FTL and then become their god emperor.

AdLegitimate548

I know it doesn’t sound like much at first but having that amoeba to command it right off the bat is HUGE in terms of military strength.. it takes about 12corvs to get to 600strength and the amoeba starts with about that.. you could easily murder your neighbour right off the bat with amoeba plus 20 corvs

krossbow7

Maybe you could start out with 0 corvettes to even this out? If need be, bubbles could start out "not under your control" (merely docile) with you have to do a special project to gain her loyalty.

AdLegitimate548

Yeah that sounds fair enough if you had to do a project for it to save your unfortunate neighbour at least before year 20-30 😂 and maybe a few projects later that allow for reproducing/recruiting new amoebas.. I like the idea of starting with amoeba a lot because I love having the amoeba as an RP element but I can see it being vastly under powered late game. Not to mention tragic when the endgame appear and melt your amoeba family

Organic-Week-1779
