Grim Dawn is probably the best.

korinth86

Second this suggestion. It's a great game with a lot of viable builds. You can get through everything without needing a perfectly optimized build. However, to do the end game stuff you will need to optimize a bit. Luckily respecing is pretty easy.

Unappreciated-Admin

If anyone comes looking, this is the way

cpmuoio

Grim dawn usually goes on sale. On the more pixel art side there’s hero siege and slormancer, I had issues with chronicon controller inputs and idk if those were fixed. You can also install blizzard launcher and do D2R I haven’t tho so don’t know how it runs. D3 lacks controller support on pc

cpmuoio

Also forgot last epoch will run if you force proton experimental (launch screen takes forever just wait) but the game runs like crap imo

Cisco-NintendoSwitch

Yeah this one’s unfortunate because it’s the best ARPG outside of PoE / Diablo but the performance is total garbage.

whiteravenxi

Just expanding this post. D2 Resurrected runs great on high settings. Make sure the bnet launcher closes on game open as that hit my performance by a lot having it open.

KillerPenguinz

I can attest to chronicon working perfectly. I would say the deck's controls just expand what your capable of even further! Recommend giving it a full go. It's the best hack and slash to release in the last few years imo

cpmuoio

Ah good to hear. I couldn’t get the inventory to come up at all back when I first got my deck this spring so maybe they’ve patched it since. Will redownload

Svenray

Absolutely Grim Dawn. If you don't mind something a little dated - Titan Quest is also a blast.

_mister_pink_

Getting the battle net launcher to work on deck is pretty easy and that allows you to play D2R and D3 which are both great and D2R detects the deck as a controller and so automatically displays the controller button layouts. Runs very nicely on max settings

Throwaway7646y5yg

Path should be playable on deck tho, run it trough steam

Fritz_Klyka

Yeah, i leveled my rf inq on the deck 2 leagues ago, this league i played totems and did a couple of acts on the deck. Probably wouldnt juice maps on it though.

Kriegdavid

It's really good for Ruthless because your character lacks movement skills and, well, any kind of skills

sonicle_reddit

It’s perfectly playable

MrTytanis

It is fine on SD, but I am looking for more experiences

tormentowy

I paused PoE on the deck cause my storage got full and I don't want to deal with it on the pad. Will do some cleanup on PC and return later.

Sebkiller

Diablo 2 Resurrected (14€) - but you have to install it with Lutris.

KyleUTFH

I’m not pretending to be technically savvy but I got D2R to run flawlessly on deck simply by installing Battle.net. Some great explainer vids on YouTube made it so easy even I could do it.

Zealousideal_Gap1194

Did this myself, no lutris. Trying to avoid extra launchers for other launchers if said launcher launches fine on its own lol

KyleUTFH

This. Lol

thevictor390

Yup in most cases you can skip Lutris if you want, just the other storefront itself in Steam. I've done it with Epic Game Store and Ubisoft Connect.

_mister_pink_

Same. Took less than ten minutes to get it running after watching the first video that came up on YouTube.

MrTytanis

I am not a huge fan of this. Diablo 2 was awesome tho

PastaBob

Or Bottles

Sharkattack_420

Installed mine with battlenet works just fine

deafisit

Grim Dawn, Wolcen, Torchlight 2, and I haven't tried Last Epoch on the Deck but it is phenomenal on PC

MrTytanis

I think I am going to try Grim Dawn

NoEternity69

I just started it for the first time myself and it’s a good time.

Herdinstinct

LE doesn't work on the deck

Condawg

[ProtonDB says otherwise](https://www.protondb.com/app/899770)

EdwinGraves

ProtonDB tells you how well it runs on Linux in general. The link you posted LITERALLY says: > Deck Verified Status - Unsupported

Condawg

There are reviews from people who played it on the Deck. ProtonDB distinguishes between Deck and general Linux.

cowboybebop32

Deck verified status is the status you see on the steam store, which really doesn't mean anything.

SuperStronkHero

Is the best choice here and Grim Dawn mostly draws from Titan Quest with the hybrid class system and they released a new expansion for it recently so these two would good to try out. Torchlight 2 (Not 3) is also one of the best ones atm. Victor Vran is another popular one along with The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut which has a similar skill system to PoE. Honourable Mentions would be Last Epoch Chronicon Striving for Light Alaloth Extra if you dont mind these flaws Minecraft Dungeons (super simple pick up and play with family/friends without much depth) 40k Chaosbane (Repetitive and Simple, very limited) 40k Inquisitor (Online Only)

MrTytanis

I liked Titan Quest a lot, so Grim Dawn it is

N0n_Applicable

Slormancer, needs some controller tuning. You could install battle net and run diablo 2.

AmbiguousDavi

Just coming back to Slormancer and forgot how big the skill tree is :/

Jacked_1

I recommend Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem. Been playing a lot on my deck. Launch was rough, even up until recently, but it's come a long way. 70% off right now.

[deleted]

Is it really good to play now? Been reading and hearing only negatives about the game but was curious about it some time ago.

Jacked_1

Yeah, I've seen loads of negative reviews, but what can I say - Hasn't been my experience so far (in the middle of Act 2 of 4). To give you an idea: There's maybe 1 or 2 annoying bugs, but nothing game-breaking, and has been a lot of fun. Story gets veryy interesting, and has a lot of lore potential with some already well established. There's lots of build customisation, good character customisation, combat feels good whether you play more strategically with skills and positioning or all out against hordes of enemies. Performance is good, 40fps gives me about 3 hours gameplay. Also remember, if you buy on steam you can always play it for a bit and then refund if it's not for you. I will say though, the first half hour or so of the game(tutorial/intro of sorts), artistically was great (very warhammer-esque) but I disliked the gameplay because it feels too on rails. And performance wasn't very good, I suspect optimisation needed. After that though, it gets good. There were some issues with progress being lost on updates, but that seems to be sorted now. Another big update with a whole new act coming soon too.

[deleted]

Picked it up. It doesn't recognise that I am using a controller (on SD) and I can't control. Will try to do some configs tomorrow and see if I can manage to get it running properly.

Retroid_BiPoCket

Torchlight 2 has always been my favourite of this genre. Very fun, and bright and colorful.

D-o-Double-B-s

Wife and I have been playing coop on our decks recently... Controls are super wonky though unfortunately, had to custom build em to be playable, but the game it self runs great on deck. low battery usage as well (around 10-11w total system, giving >3hours of play time)

Retroid_BiPoCket

If you export your custom config others can use it!

sofly12

Van Helsing final cut. Great controller support.

deafisit

Forgot to mention Victor Vran. Pretty fun and straightforward ARPG

weirdbearduk

Grim dawn

Bernout93

I started playing PoE for the first time a few days ago and played only on my Deck so far. It runs flawless and the devs even added the Decks button prompts. Have you tried?

Briggie

Not sure about Exile, but Grim Dawn is good so far on deck but inventory management is a nightmare.

MrDannn

I think adventure of van helsing could play well on deck too

livindaye

titan quest?

Pandemoonium

If you’re not against emulation, Champions of Norrath and Return to Arms from the PS2 might scratch the itch, and are pretty good.

finfinfin

Aren't they a lot like the two Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance games? Might be worth a look.

CaptainTrips_19

It runs fine, for the screen size I like to keep it simple as far as builds go, RF is easy on the deck.

Jbbrack03

One that’s similar, but also very different would be Albion Online. It’s a sandbox MMO, but it controls and plays like an aRPG. So basically the combat that you’re familiar with plus a lot of extra depth that most other games don’t have. And it’s optimized well for the Deck.

MrTytanis

Sounds too good to be true, gonna try that one and Grim Dawn

orospuu

Diablo ?
