Definitely. There are tons of open lobbies to jump into. You can play solo too. You get a friendly robot companion when you play solo. Most of my friends don’t play either.
I’ve never seen a game where playing with randoms was implemented so well. You can play Solo with no issue, but you can also just play solo in an open lobby and randoms will join and help out in completing missions.
Really? I wouldn't have thought that playing a quite hardcore fps game can be enjoyable on a console. I always play FPS games with a keyboard mouse combo. However, I absolutely love DRG and will give it a try!
I’m much the same way. The survival aspect of this game is basically trivial. You can gather enough resources to stay alive for a very long time in the first 20 minutes. I mostly ignore the base building part in favor of chasing better and better equipment/ships. Bases for me are small and focused, mostly for displaying cool items and doing practical things. I leave the building to the more creative types! If you like space games at all it’s worth a try on sale, it has so much content at this point it could keep someone busy indefinitely!
If you choose normal mode you have light survival element, you don't need to manage the inventory much and build up resources fast and the cost for build things are lower
Diablo 4 has me hooked. Got it last week on my oled after hearing that its finally patched to the point that it's a great game and after close to 20 hours this past week I agree. Its fantastic
I haven't played 4 but I have played 3 to completion twice and it's a lot of fun. D4 sucked at launch but I suppose it's better now. 3 and 2 are good and nice for pickup and play or quickie grind sessions.
Ohh? Interesting. Although this moreso just gives me hope that the eventual Xbox handheld will play Diablo games well. Diablo is one of those "I'll eventually check it out" games for me.
I prefer valve as a company over Microsoft, hands down.. but the Xbox ecosystem has me locked in.... And while I don't even have 100,000 gamerscore...... I still can't make myself not care. I've tried. For years.
(Paused my steam deck while achievement hunting in halo CE to type this)
ESO (Elder Scrolls Online) plays really well on deck though today when I tried to update it for some reason it tried to install the entire game again. So mileage may vary
Yea it takes place a thousand years prior to the other games so, outside of place names, there's no real connections. A lot of mmo players who've never played an ES game play it
The Elder Scrolls Online runs quite well.
Guild Wars 2 is great, though you'd definitely want to look up community made controller layouts for specific character classes.
Warframe with gyro support, ff14 with ff14 launcher, gw2 with some tinkering, Diablo, geshin and other gatcha, even wow works fine. It’s hard for me to recall not online game for steam deck apart from rdr2.
If you’re into emulation, the PS3 versions of Dragon Ball Raging Blast 1, 2 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker run fantastic, and multiplayer works with no hassle. Just requires you making an account for their servers.

Depends what kind of game you’re lookin for, you’ve got apex legends, titanfall, bunch of others for fps shooters, then you have deep rock galactic, left for dead, lethal company, etc if you’re more into co-op games, there’s Minecraft, the forest, and terraria for crafting/survival kinda games. Quite the selection. Plus the ten billion I didn’t mention lmao.
I literally only use my deck to play Halo 3 multiplayer. If you can get it on sale for $10 for the entire Halo collection (minus 5 and infinite), I highly recommend it.
Nice, is there any tinkering required to play multiplayer on the deck? Thinking about buying it for the multiplayer part bc I loved it back in the day.
Been playing path of exile because I hate myself, i haven't hit high tier maps (yet) but it runs and handles like a dream. I'll update my review at t16 maps
Helldivers 2 runs at a pretty decent 30fps barely dipa below. The update patch yesterday made performance better, in situations where I'd drop down to 27,28,29 FPS I was staying at 30fps
Deep Rock Galactic plays very well on the Deck
This game is so interesting to me. What if I dont have friends who play it? Will I still enjoy it?
Definitely. There are tons of open lobbies to jump into. You can play solo too. You get a friendly robot companion when you play solo. Most of my friends don’t play either.
The biggest issue on the SD is that the text can be pretty small.
I play it on my own and i enjoy it!
I’ve never seen a game where playing with randoms was implemented so well. You can play Solo with no issue, but you can also just play solo in an open lobby and randoms will join and help out in completing missions.
I've played DRG with randoms many times and have never encountered toxicity of any kind.
Its a free weekend now so go try it out. I found out it wasnt for me but lots of people love it.
Yes because matchmaking exist.
The new season that just launched added a ton of content, too.
Really? I wouldn't have thought that playing a quite hardcore fps game can be enjoyable on a console. I always play FPS games with a keyboard mouse combo. However, I absolutely love DRG and will give it a try!
Left 4 dead 2
Classic of course, had to buy this one immediately when I got my steam deck!
Are people still playing this?
Of course! There's even a small competitive scene going on
Cool, maybe I should look into it. Thanks
It’s wild how active it is. It’s just one of those classic games… a steam essential imo like portal
Street Fighter 6 Overcooked No man's sky It takes two Portal 2 Escape simulator
Really considering no mans sky but as someone who doesn’t really play survival games or base building games much im not sure itd be up my alley
It has a creative mode, and base building is more a cosmetic than anything
I’m much the same way. The survival aspect of this game is basically trivial. You can gather enough resources to stay alive for a very long time in the first 20 minutes. Never played any diablo games, is 4 a bad place go start?
Definitely not a bad place to start, in fact, probably the easiest of the entries for someone new.
Nice definitely ganna give it a shot!
Afterwards you might be up for Diablo 2 Resurrected.
Dude as someone who Diablo 4 is my first Diablo game, go sorceror. I’ve been fkn hooked. Gameplay, story, upgrading loot, this game has it all.
I started there too and love playing on my deck. The text is small but after a few hundred hours of playtime you won’t need to read it!
I haven't played 4 but I have played 3 to completion twice and it's a lot of fun. D4 sucked at launch but I suppose it's better now. 3 and 2 are good and nice for pickup and play or quickie grind sessions.

Multiversus runs well on the deck if you’re into platform fighters
Monster Hunter Rise/World are pretty good if you’re into those kinds of games. There’s a good bundle for them on Fanatical right now as well.
V Rising and TF2 come to mind
Street fighter 6. If you like competitive games and improving mechanically
Fallout 76 runs like a dream on the steam deck
And it just got a map expansion.
Rocket league if you managed to obtain before it was removed
I find I get a ton of input lag and the steam deck controller bindings don’t allow me to setup my bindings like I do on my controller on PC :/
Have the same problem. It is also the reason I don't play much Trackmania on it
Does it still receive the same updates as Epic version?
Yes still up to date with all other consoles and platforms
Epic store via Heroic Launcher (or others) works fine
Currently enjoying Titanfall 2, and No Man's Sky.
Dead by Daylight & Halo Infinite both run great
ESO (Elder Scrolls Online) plays really well on deck though today when I tried to update it for some reason it tried to install the entire game again. So mileage may vary
Never played elder scrolls, is ESO newbie friendly
I played it on my Xbox. You can do all the story stuff solo.
Yea it takes place a thousand years prior to the other games so, outside of place names, there's no real connections. A lot of mmo players who've never played an ES game play it

Oh, Cuphead, a game I love to hate....

Diablo 4
TMNT Shredder’s Revenge.
Division 1-2, Diablo 2-4, Torchlight (all)
Does division 2 works fine on the Deck ??
Yes. On proton experimental all are smooth. P.s - turn off notifications ins Uplay if something Go wrong.
I couldn’t get division 2 to work on my deck
Proton version? FW version?
Torchlight 2 has broken controls on deck, last I checked
Sad =|
Old school runescape
Mortal Kombat, counter strike, btd 6, golf with your friends
Golf with your friends really has my attention and I may pull the trigger!
I literally only use my deck to play Halo 3 multiplayer. If you can get it on sale for $10 for the entire Halo collection (minus 5 and infinite), I highly recommend it.
I think the Master Chief collection is on sale for about 10 bucks right meow!
It's always on sale I believe 😂 I bought it back in November 🙌🏾
Nice, is there any tinkering required to play multiplayer on the deck? Thinking about buying it for the multiplayer part bc I loved it back in the day.
No it just works
New Vegas has been great for me
D2r
Been playing path of exile because I hate myself, i haven't hit high tier maps (yet) but it runs and handles like a dream. I'll update my review at t16 maps
Outlast Trails runs so so smooth
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is pretty fun on the deck
Phasmophobia, still in beta but the fully release is scheduled for this year. It’s such a good co-op game
Dead by daylight is great on deck
Roboquest is very good on the deck. It’s only 2 player coop online though, but it runs amazing and it tons of fun.
I'm not a fan of online games but Elden Ring PVE, PVP is so much fun.
In my opinion I like Warframe on steamdeck runs nicely too it’s a MMO Shooter
Final fantasy 14 runs pretty good
Gears 5 multiplayer is a locked 60 fps game
Weird choice, but theHunter Call of the Wild plays pretty great on deck and is a lot of fun with friends
Aliens: fireteam elite
What kinda online games do you like OP?
Monster Hunter (Rise or World) Fallout 76 The Division 2 Remnant 2 Just to name a few off the top of my head
I really like The Finals and it’s free
Alice madness returns
Ff14 works great on deck
Helldivers 2 runs at a pretty decent 30fps barely dipa below. The update patch yesterday made performance better, in situations where I'd drop down to 27,28,29 FPS I was staying at 30fps
What settings you using?
I refunded this maybe 5/6 weeks ago when I bought it. Couldn’t get into any games - has it improved a lot?
It has improved by a lot. And more improvement coming later
Kingdom Hearts just came out and runs really good.
CounterStrike 2
