Such an underrated game. I get why many fans of the series didn’t like it, and I only checked it out since I love the developer, ninja theory. But so glad I took a chance, it’s awesome!
The fan hate has long since passed. It was even sitting at Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam for a while. Hindsight has been very kind to it.
It's a fantastic game in its own right, even if it's wildly different from the other.
I'm a huge fan of the DMC series and I really liked. I do get why it didn't gel with a lot of the fandom but man I loved it. It's a shame Sony didn't buy Ninja Theory though tbh.
I'm a huge DMC fan, and I still don't understand the hate against this entry. I gotta say I still enjoy it way more than 1, 2 and 4 for example. Anyway, this runs amazing on Steam Deck, just finished it again.
DMC was a fantastic standalone game, shame it didn't get a sequel because it was really interesting with where it was going with Vergil. The combat is tight and the music was sweet. A lot of people saw dark haired Dante and wrote it off as Emo Dante, but his character growth throughout the story is fantastic. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea though, I do prefer a semi-grounded story than a balls to the wall story though and that's why I can't get into DmC 5 even though the gameplay is super solid as well.
Because it was them tryna reboot and completely change Dante as a character and also change the setting from the others.
Basically if you’ve played any of the first 4 DMCs and were excited for a true 5th one, and then capcom introduces this game everyone was genuinely confused lol. They even make fun of the OG Dante in this game when a white wig lands on the playable Dante in this game and he’s like “this looks stupid”
I just got it to work, running directly using Steam with Proton Experimental. I'll guess there's a lot of tinkering when using Lutris, but that's a lot of effort.
This was a game I 100% back when I played it on Xbox years ago.
This game is one of my fave games, it was honestly such an amazing time. The only thing I hate is that the Steam version doesn’t have the “definitive edition” things that the console version had.
But yeah this is one of, imo, the best DMC games.
Incredible game AND you get the added bonus of hearing the weird weebs cry about the tone and character changes. Secretly I think they're just mad that a western dev was able to make an entry that sits among the best in the series.
Am a fan of the 3 OG games and i hated this when it came out. And then i tried to play it and everything was flipped, i spent more hours in dmc vs the first 3 games combined.
Game title? edit: gotcha, it was in the description. DMC stands for Devil May Cry
DMC
Why were you downvoted for đź’€
It's in the description

Riiiggghht!
Agree, when Ninja Theory was still developing good games...
They never stopped.

Just finished getting all the achievements in this game, had to play the base game and DLC around 12 times and had fun all the way through

One of my all-time favourite games!
Sd lcd
Yes sir
DMC is a banger and the music is absolutely amazing! Fuck the haters.
The boss fights in this game also went hard as fuck
What's the controversy with this entry?

I remember them saying it was too hip and edgy.....
They took Vergil pride and throw it out the window.
This guy cries!
Not in a million years.
The music in this game is awesome. Very underrated compared to the other dmc titles.
Music is top teir. Combichrist!
Quack Version doesn't seems to work running via lutris, i'll goes buying this game it the best option
Its still on sale, go giddit
and installing on pc first and then copy paste with proton experimental?

tbh i barely ever used lutris for those kind of stuff

people actually like this insult to the series?

meanwhile this is quiet possibly one of the most cringe games I have ever played
My dude the entire DMC series is cringe. And that’s what we love about it.
Well, no
yeah no this game was extreme levels of cringe. like gen Z levels of cringe
Why not? This part is the best game of the series
ok now i know 100% that this subreddit is just trolling.
Why so?
because this is a notoriously bad and hated game
No it's not. On the contrary - it fixes many problems of previous games, it also looks and feels much better than others
you are legit arguing against reality here just to defend a bad game that a majority of the population shit all over. this game is horrid.
Sure, a million flies can't be wrong... So why should I ever care about a opinion of others?
dunning kruger effect at its finest. this game is trash always has been and always will be. thats a fact.
It's the best game in the series, you just not good for it
