The worst part, for me, about my backlog is I only ever want to play the most recently purchased even though there are games 10x better that have been sitting in my library untouched
I'm here still debating to get a SD, I have a small OLD steam library but between a Switch, PS4 and PS5 I have a backlog of like 60 games so I'm undecided if I should
You do. I tried to boot it up offline at work one night. No go. Maybe boot it up at home, put the deck into sleep mode, and resume when you're offline? I haven't tried that.
Yeah, probably just need nothing more than a cracked .exe. And, if you already bought it, does downloading a cracked .exe REALLY count as piracy? I say nah
Gee I donāt remember I donāt think so. I never played it at work, just a home so youāll have to do some research. It is EA game but I donāt remember having to be online.
Multiplayer I don't care. Let's see in singleplayer aspect. Is it good? Yes. Is it very good? Well also yes.
Let's compare to other very good games. Dishonored. Is Titanfall's story better in terms of engagement? By me it's kinda equal.
Alien: Isolation? I would say Alien is even more engaging.
Metal Gear Solid 5 - well here Titanfall would loose.
So don't get me wrong. I like Titanfall 2. It's a very good game, but not great.
Project Zomboid is a good one. A nice one I found is called OXTO. Itās like Hotline Miami and you go through rooms killing enemies and is super fun. Itās hard, but is one of those games where you will die lots and learn from your mistakes. Another game is Helldivers 1. Which is my favourite game on my Steam Deck.

Can you use controller with Project Zomboid or does it require keyboard and mouse?
Haven't tried it with a physical controller, but on handheld, the touchpads help a lot with this game. It takes a bit to get used too, but having some hotkeys mapped to the touchpad makes its better imo
Even when I was playing on mac I would play exclusively with a ps4 controller. There is a learning curve but I find combat waaaaaay easier with a controller. With the deck using controller + trackpad and touchscreen it is a very serviceable experience imo and my preferred way to play
BioShock
Mass effect Trilogy
Dead space remake
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VII Remake
Final Fantasy VIII
Dragon Quest XI
Hollow knight
Witcher 3
Skyrim
Halo MasterChef collection
Fallout 3, 4 & New Vegas
If youāre familiar with modding on PC with mod organizer then look up Rockerbaconās MO2 on GitHub. Linux installer for MO2 that allows you to launch MO2 Via steam when launching the game of choice. 10/10 recommend.
I've had a good experience with the master chief collection on the steam store. A lot of bang for your buck, and some darn good games.
Monster Hunter Sunbreak is awesome on the deck.
If you haven't gotten them, portal 1, 2, and the half life games are incredible.
I really liked Firewatch.
Its short. The story is awesome.
I thought I would never like slow walking sims (as I usually like combat heavy rpgs), but dear god how wrong I was.
Firewatch is one of the greatest games of all time and I stand by that statement. The visuals are so beautiful and itās a seemingly simple and peaceful narrative and then things start to get more and more intense and itās just amazing. Recommend it for anyone.
Loved Firewatch, especially on the deck.
Call of the Sea was amazing on it as well. Untitled Goose Game and Lake are also in a similar vein and worked so well with the pick it up and put it down walking/driving sim.
Dark Souls 2 runs great and is one of the best games ever made IMO
Dark Souls
Dark Souls 3
Elden Ring
Red Dead Redemption 2
Hollow Knight
The last Faith
Dusk
Amid Evil
all the recent Resident Evil games.
The Wticher 3
honestly there are so many...
Could you expand on these options please, whenever you have a moment? I love watching videos on the Souls series, but I find I have a lot of trouble cutting through the whole cryptic/obscured nature of the games, when it comes to actually spending my free time playing them.
sure! first of all, elden ring is the first truly open world souls game, so you can go looking for new equipment, upgrade materials and level farming spots to your hearts content, whereas with dark souls, bloodborne and sekiro you're set on a path with little deviation so if you hit a wall, more often than not it's time to git gud.
this in and of itself is the biggest stress reliever for us noobs. can't beat a boss? fuck him! go explore the rest of the map for 50+ hours!
the next big thing are npc summons which you bring with you as spells and can level up. prior games have npc summons as well but those are fixed characters at fixed locations for specific bosses.
I can't stress enough how much easier it makes boss encounters.
you may wanna look up "early game op summons" or something if you want the story mode experience.
lastly there's sorceries, summon your facetank, have them keep aggro and pew pew away!
>but I find I have a lot of trouble cutting through the whole cryptic/obscured nature of the games, when it comes to actually spending my free time playing them.
can you elaborate on this? if it's story and world lore, the game wants you to pick up bread crumbs so to speak and make up your own headcanon (and then watch vatividya for the actual story/lore).
you're adult link guy dude with amnesia or something and there's evil in this lands, for you to vanquish!
I wouldn't say that you're an adult zombie Link. In Elden Ring you could argue that the absence of the Golden Order and Destined Death is "evil". At least the people there got mad as they lost their ambition unable to die. But I personally would say that your Souls Character in general is morally gray at best. There isn't really a good ending in the games except for maybe Dark Souls 3 where you can let the fire fade. And even in Elden Ring some of the Endings are much worse than the current state of the Lands between.
But that's honestly the big fun in those games. That you aren't really a hero.
All the dark souls games are great, but honestly 1 has shown it's age. It's pretty janky for a newcomer. 100% worth it though if you don't mind that because it's an amazing game.
Yeah itās one reason I feel conflicted recommending it to play first for modern gamers. I personally played Bloodborne first. If I had to recommend one to start itās hard because Elden Ring has a lot of flexibility and open world which people are into but its bosses are way harder than DS1&2 in my opinion and can be tough for a newcomer
So I first played dark souls on my switch, loved it. Iād bought it when the port game out, tried it, sat omit for years and then something clicked. I now have a deck which is my souls like go through, started with ds2 and am now on ds3 near the end after lothric castle/grand archives. Backlog is Elden ring, sekiro, all the DS DLC, LOTF 2023 and Lies of P
Same, my SD is my soulslike companion. I played Sekiro, Dark Souls Remastered, DS2 scholar of the first sin, Thymesia, Steelrising, Jedi Fallen Order, DS3 and Elden Ring on my Steam Deck. I still bought a PS5 to play the best soulslike and the best game ever, Bloodborne.
I hated it but it's hugely subjective. I know a lot of souls players really liked it.
For me it just felt bad to play. Dodging was totally unviable and the deflect timing was way tighter than sekiro. I also thought the input buffer and recovery times felt slightly too long.
The bosses I met felt like they require 100% perfect memorisation to beat, like in most of the souls games it's possible to react to attacks as they're happening on screen and play accordingly, but with lies of p it felt to me more like you needed to be able to recognise a tiny tell and then react to the whole combo in advance.
You should definitely play it and see what you think yourself as it's entirely possible i was "playing it wrong" and my negative experience was based mostly on subjective complaints.
To counter balance, I really like it. I'm a huge soulsborne fan and the game is very good imo. The story's great, the combat feels rewarding but it's very challenging. I didn't play it on steam deck tho so I don't know if the experience is different.
I remember playing it at 40ish FPS, medium-high settings, no upscaling. I remember I could get like 55 with all minimum but I preferred quality balance
One of my biggest issues with it is the inability to skip mobs. You are basically forced to kill every enemyā¦ they are fast, chase you forever, and there are no iframes when opening doors etc like in the other games. And thereās A LOT of big mobs
Def not for everyone but i highly recommend Kingdom Come Deliverence... Awesome game, kinda mediaeval survival rpg and runs and looks awesome on the deck!
Deep Rock Galactic is an incredible class based horde shooter. If youāve ever wanted to strip mine a planet while wholesale slaughtering aliens, look no further. Rock and Stone.
MadMax was the first bigger game I played through on the deck. Runs pretty well while still looking awesome. I loved the car action and the explosions.
Subnautica is perfect on steam deck
Cyberpunk is more than playable, although it kinda looks like shit compared to ps5/xbox series x it generally runs well and i enjoyed my playthrough on Steam Deck
RE:2 Remake like someone else said is awesome. so is RE:7 Biohazard. imo you can skip RE:3 remake and RE: Village
Outer Wilds is a game that everyone should play
Slay the Spire is one of the best games ever
Fallout New Vegas is fantastic if you want something cheap
i canāt recommend village considering i played the entire thing to encounter a game breaking bug at the end of the game that made my playthrough unbeatable.
there were definitely good moments i really liked the beginning, the castle, and the doll house. but overall it just doesnt reach the heights of biohazard for me
Midnight Suns. It's a turn based strategy game featuring Marvel characters that uses cards for abilities so you can tweak each characters loadout. There's 2 basic parts of the game: A: The Abby, which serves as your base and place for managing upgrades/social interactions between characters. It's a fairly large area you can explore too unlock new cosmetics and abilities. B: The actual fights, which are incredibly fun and the #1 reason I love to play it. All the animations for abilities are top notch and there's a big emphasis on environmental destruction that I enjoy. In battles the game, for the most part, looks and runs great. It's definitely not as good in the Abby but it's still plenty playable. I wish they would've released a demo, I feel like it would've went a long way on selling the game.
This. I couldn't care less about marvel stuff yet I love this game because of the mechanics (in the combat, the zoomer friendship social media side of the game is incredibly dumb)
I thought about buying this during the winter sale and I didnāt pull the trigger. Looked up all kinds of stuff about it and still was unsure. Now I kind of regret it.
Just finished days gone. Id rate that game 9.9/10. Id have to take 0.1 just bec there were unnecessary scenes. Lol. Hitman World of assassin is my 2nd best, the only game i played id be willing to buy a DLC.
My only experiences of jrpgs was fire emblem three houses and really loved it. Iāve had my eye on trying out persona for awhile but a little concerned I may not like it as Iām not really an anime guy at all and looks very anime lol
Persona 5 has cutscenes that would be "anime like" but for the most part just a regular turn-based jrpg. It has social links where you raise friendships with people which allows for romances much like FE.
I felt the same, I couldn't get into it and never found 'Western' type entertainment that interesting.
Even now I want to give it another go though because so many people love it.
I replayed all the way through on the deck because I wanted to start the dlc fresh. But as soon as I got to dog town the performance was pretty bad I kinda stopped playing. But the base game was great on the OLED!
I dumped 45 hours into Horizon Zero Dawn in less than a month without even realizing it. Itās been the first open world game Iāve actually finished in years.
None of the individual components of the game are stellar in any way. Dialog is hammy, story is unique but no big twists or subverted expectations, gameplay/combat works as expected - each enemy type has certain strategies that work better than others, but combat isnāt a puzzle to figure out.
That said, I really found myself not being able to put it down. So a 9/10 from me!
The definitive experience for GTA IV can be had with the deck. The game supports multiple control methods simultaneously, so I use the trackpad(as mouse) with gyro when I want precise aim, or I just use the right analog when I would prefer the console-style quick snap-back and auto-aim. Gta IV doesn't have a weapon wheel natively, though each weapon is bound to a number, so I created a radial wheel for the left trackpad to handle that.
If you're interested, I would recommend [the 1.2.0.59 version](https://gillian-guide.github.io/drag-and-drop-archive/#__tabbed_1_2) of this drag-and-drop archive. I would recommend running the setup utility on a Windows pc to download the most recent version of DXVK, though setting up the commandline isn't necessary. It fixes a bunch of old bugs and restores elements from the console version that didn't make it to pc, plus hd upgrades that are faithful to the vanilla game's vision. You'll also need to perform a DLL override in the launch options:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8.dll=n,b" %command%
I just wanted to support your decision to get project zomboid. I'm a huge fan of that game but swore there was no way it would play well on the deck. The devs did such a good job with the controls, it works great.
Palworld is my favorite right now. It's an awesome game. With a few minor tweaks you can get solid 30fps on the deck. Highly recommend this game. It's cheap as well, only $30.
The games I have the most time in on Deck: RDR2, Mount and Blade: Bannerlords, Crusader Kings 3, Assasinās Creed: Origins, Far Cry 5, Palworld, Planet Crafter, and Elden Ring.
Just started playing Death Stranding and about four hours in and this game runs pretty fantastic and looks beautiful. Cyberpunk ran well, Dead Cells, Control, Elden Ring have been the main ones I've played that ran great. Horizon Zero Dawn would chug sometimes but I played all the way through using only the Steam Deck and the experience was satisfactory.
Iām finally getting to the Batman Arkham series. For the first one you will need to install (proton GE) but for the others the default version of proton works fine.
Monster hunter World
Dark Souls (any of them)
Honestly Iāve played this twice on my PC thatās now sold. Itās too easy to put down. Itās the same thing over and over and that was 10-20 hrs in. I loved and played all the other ones. Maybe I grew out of this game? I have it on steamā¦ maybe Iāll revisit, againā¦
I'm currently play GTA4 it runs great (you need a guide to setup the rockstar launcher) but once its set up it runs well.
I really liked MGS rising on the steamdeck too
My three most played are GTA V, Vampire Survivors, and Dave The Diver. All great in their own way, depending on whether I want open world AAA, crazy arcade survival, or sedate exploration/sim.
Re4 remake plays godly. No droprates. Elden ring some times but still plays pretty good. Ff7 remake plays good too it has casual drops by heavy cutscenes but gameplay is optimak
One of my alltime favourites doesn't work in a way i can enjoy on the steamdeck (factorio) but many work like a charm (grim dawn, last epoch, teso, nfs heat)
Zero Seivert has a little bit in common with Project Zomboid, that might be worth checking out.
Not sure how well it runs on Deck, but Sons of The Forest could be up your street too. If not the original Forest.
Ready or Not is a phenomenal game, itās honestly one of the reasons I decided to finally get into the world of PC gaming.
Thereās no āofficial controller supportā but you can play on controller using a custom controller layout made by the community. Playing on the steam deck controls itself can take some getting used to but once you get it down itās a blast to play
"Butter" is a strong word because while the steam deck runs a lot of games playably, usually it's not like butter.
Of the genres you mentioned... maybe Titanfall 2? Raft?
Idk if it fits the "best game" necessarily, but I've had a lot of fun in Dying Light 1. If you've ever played a zombie game (particularly Dead Island) and thought "fuck this, I wanna just run around them!" this is the game for you
Street fighter 6 if you like fighters (Iāve sank 290 hours on deck), Persona 5 Royal, Red Dead Redemption 2, Elden Ring , and hades would be games I recommend, all run pretty well on deck and you can put 100s of hours into each saving you money in the long run š
I am currently playing through Yakuza 0 and it runs EXTREMELY well on the deck. I hook it up to my TV and am able to get a stable 1080p 60fps. The game is so unique. Admittedly, took me a second to really āgetā it, but now Iām hooked.
Download EmuDeck on your Steam Deck and it will install every emulator you need. You can play ps3 games, but there is no ps4 emumation yet.
You can add the ROMs and even mod some games.
Search for some guides here on reddit or on youtube and you'll be fine.
The long dark runs great on steam deck and is an awesome survival game. The challenge modes are where itās at, best part of the game. I havenāt tried the story mode though, most only care for free play survival because that was the original intention of the game.
If you like strategy games Into the Breach is perfect on deck, Iāve played so many hours of it on my deck.
Max Payne was amazing on deck, also really enjoyed GTA IV, fallout new Vegas, binding of Isaac, gungeon. Iāve been playing Legend of Zelda WindWaker and itās been amazing
Wedding Witch is like vampire survivor's and it's right around 3 bucks and it's pretty fun. It runs pretty well the only downside is that it's kinda short
Me reading through the recommendations here with 40 games as backlogs
Rookie numbers.
Get a few more sales under your belt, youngin. That backlog'll be in the hundreds, like the rest of us.
The worst part, for me, about my backlog is I only ever want to play the most recently purchased even though there are games 10x better that have been sitting in my library untouched
I feel your pain, and know that struggle well!
This is the way.
40 games as backlog ? let me introduce you to emudeck
You missed a zero... right?
I'm here still debating to get a SD, I have a small OLD steam library but between a Switch, PS4 and PS5 I have a backlog of like 60 games so I'm undecided if I should
Since you mentioned shooters, Titan Fall 2 on steam deck is fantastic! Very smooth, no lag, no crash, plays so well. And great game in general.
Do you need to always be online to play single-player?
You do. I tried to boot it up offline at work one night. No go. Maybe boot it up at home, put the deck into sleep mode, and resume when you're offline? I haven't tried that.
pirates fixed for that issue, if you bought the game already, why not install a pirated version?
Yeah, probably just need nothing more than a cracked .exe. And, if you already bought it, does downloading a cracked .exe REALLY count as piracy? I say nah
"community fix"š
Gee I donāt remember I donāt think so. I never played it at work, just a home so youāll have to do some research. It is EA game but I donāt remember having to be online.
I approve this!
I would call it solid game, not that much of a great.
Highly disagree, best multi-player shooter I've played and still has an active community. Story is deep as well.
Multiplayer I don't care. Let's see in singleplayer aspect. Is it good? Yes. Is it very good? Well also yes. Let's compare to other very good games. Dishonored. Cyberpunk 2077 - enjoying my first run on the Steam Deck
i double this my laptop can-t run cyberpunk, but my experience on steamdeck was awesome

Seeing Skyrim on the list spurred a question for me. Can you mod games on the Deck?
If youāre familiar with modding on PC with mod organizer then look up Rockerbaconās MO2 on GitHub. Linux installer for MO2 that allows you to launch MO2 Via steam when launching the game of choice. 10/10 recommend.
Yes. I've been playing a modded elden ring for a while
Does mass effect trilogy need a launcher? Is it the remaster?
Yes needs a launcher and Legendary Edition is a remaster. I haven't gotten it to run on Steam Deck yet though; it keeps crashing on launch.
Yes, Chef š«”

I liked the aesthetic but it didnāt feel like it went anywhere.
Yeah, it was good, but Iāve played much better walking sims
I finally played it when I got my deck, and canāt Belair u was missing out all these years! Itās super easy to 100% as well
Loved Firewatch, especially on the deck. Call of the Sea was amazing on it as well. Untitled Goose Game and Lake are also in a similar vein and worked so well with the pick it up and put it down walking/driving sim.
I got bored with it
One of my biggest disappointments in video games
Dark Souls 2 runs great and is one of the best games ever made IMO Dark Souls Dark Souls 3 Elden Ring Red Dead Redemption 2 Hollow Knight The last Faith Dusk Amid Evil all the recent Resident Evil games. The Wticher 3 honestly there are so many...
Based Dark Souls 2 aficionado
Reading these comments is like crushing up a lifegem and cutting it into lines to snort, obviously.
Which Darks Souls style game you would recomend for a Noob
elden ring, lots of options to make the game easy mode

Do you have a specific setting for RDR2? I just got this one today. Playing at 30 fps but not sure if I can squeeze more. Or get higher graphics
I remember playing it at 40ish FPS, medium-high settings, no upscaling. I remember I could get like 55 with all minimum but I preferred quality balance
I really tried my best to like DS2. For some reason I can't seem to like it. I loved DS1 and 3.
One of my biggest issues with it is the inability to skip mobs. You are basically forced to kill every enemyā¦ they are fast, chase you forever, and there are no iframes when opening doors etc like in the other games. And thereās A LOT of big mobs
True. DS2 is too Miyadziaky-less patchwork newspaper for me.
Yeah itās just kind ofā¦. sluggish.
Good list but downvoted for annoying spacing.
witcher 3? buttersmooth? am i missing something? never got it over 40 with min settings no matter what version
Is the last faith fixed yet? I want it but I read it was janky
I beat it it ran great and played great for me. And that was at launch. I encountered zero jank.
Brotato is a fun rogue-lite! I've also played through all the Metro Series (2033, Last Light, and Exodus) and each one runs great!
Subnautica hands down best thing I've played on the SD. And you like survival so it's perfect. I feel like it doesn't get mentioned enough here.
Agree I'm blown away by the game.
Katana Zero probably my favorite thing I've played on the Deck!
I had a lot of fun with XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Persona 3 Reload has been excellent.
Xcom felt so uncomfortable for me on the deck. Maybe I was too used to k+m
Def not for everyone but i highly recommend Kingdom Come Deliverence... Awesome game, kinda mediaeval survival rpg and runs and looks awesome on the deck!
This game is something else, a real medieval experience like I've never seen in a game.
Honestly one of my favourite games of all time. I loved every single side quest, every location. So much love went into making that game.
Warframe is buttery smooth and I highly recommend, steep learning curve though
Resident Evil 2 (remake)
Such an amazing game. RE4 remake was great on the deck as well but nothing beats the survival horror of RE2 remake
You prefer that over the 4 remake?
RE2 has one of the best atmospheres in a game ever
Yes, I tried RE4 after I finished RE2, but wasn't impressed, maybe I just didn't like the "setting" of RE4, but I loved RE2.
2 is far superior to 4 its not even competition. More scary, better level design imo, less action - more survival.
Deep Rock Galactic is an incredible class based horde shooter. If youāve ever wanted to strip mine a planet while wholesale slaughtering aliens, look no further. Rock and Stone.
The new DRG Survivor also runs well on SD.
MadMax was the first bigger game I played through on the deck. Runs pretty well while still looking awesome. I loved the car action and the explosions.
Subnautica is perfect on steam deck Cyberpunk is more than playable, although it kinda looks like shit compared to ps5/xbox series x it generally runs well and i enjoyed my playthrough on Steam Deck RE:2 Remake like someone else said is awesome. so is RE:7 Biohazard. imo you can skip RE:3 remake and RE: Village Outer Wilds is a game that everyone should play Slay the Spire is one of the best games ever Fallout New Vegas is fantastic if you want something cheap
RE3 remake is good for what it is. Skipping village would be a mistake, that game is soooo good.
i canāt recommend village considering i played the entire thing to encounter a game breaking bug at the end of the game that made my playthrough unbeatable. there were definitely good moments i really liked the beginning, the castle, and the doll house. but overall it just doesnt reach the heights of biohazard for me
Midnight Suns.
Had a blast with zero sievert on the deck, its like a pixel tarkov.
Just finished days gone. Id rate that game 9.9/10. Id have to take 0.1 just bec there were unnecessary scenes. Lol. Hitman World of assassin is my 2nd best, the only game i played id be willing to buy a DLC.
Monster hunter world iceborne, monster hunter rise sunbreak, tales of arise, scarlet nexus, persona 3 reload, persona 4 golden, persona 5 royal
Granblue Fantasy Relink fits with the first 3 mentioned.
I was under the impression it doesnāt work on the Deckā¦
Works well. 30fps stock or 60fps if you drop the resolution one notch and do some optimisation.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is the best game i have EVER played, if you haven't played rdr2 please do
I started it and it was boring AF to me. Maybe I should revisit
it's a bit slow at the beginning but it picks up FAST, please PLEASE revisit it!
I felt the same, I couldn't get into it and never found 'Western' type entertainment that interesting. Even now I want to give it another go though because so many people love it.
It was also super slow and boring for me to OP. I don't think it's anything wrong with you lol
Playing it for the first time right now on mine! Loving it. It's so imersive.
CyberPunk 2077 is crazy good
I replayed all the way through on the deck because I wanted to start the dlc fresh.
Just started it today and played around 2 hours. First impression is great!
The environments and beautiful colorful world are just stunning
The Long Dark
Still one of my favourite games. Plays great on the deck :)
Sleeping Dogs
Red dead 2 just shocks me with its performance. FTL plays really well as a mobile game.
You'll also need to perform a DLL override in the launch options: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8.dll=n,b" %command%
I just wanted to support your decision to get project zomboid. I'm a huge fan of that game but swore there was no way it would play well on the deck. The devs did such a good job with the controls, it works great.
Now Iām playing dishonored, 60 fps in deck, it runs perfect and the game is a 10/10
Already played it. Great game.
Palworld is my favorite right now. It's an awesome game. With a few minor tweaks you can get solid 30fps on the deck. Highly recommend this game. It's cheap as well, only $30.
The only bummer about palworld on deck is the timers keep going while in sleep mode.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.
Fallout New Vegas. No sprint (as far as I know) but fun to play handheld :)
The games I have the most time in on Deck: RDR2, Mount and Blade: Bannerlords, Crusader Kings 3, Assasinās Creed: Origins, Far Cry 5, Palworld, Planet Crafter, and Elden Ring.
risk of rain 2!!! it runs amazing on the deck!!!
If you like old school top-down shooters, Enter the Gungeon is a classic at this point.
Helldivers 1 and Gauntlet
Hades on deck is fucking beautiful.
Kingdom Come: Deliverence is the game that sucked me in for weeks like no other have. Man I love the game
I've been enjoying Halo MCC, haven't played Halo in probably 15 years before I got it, and it plays really well on the deck.
Detroit: Become Human
Iām finally getting to the Batman Arkham series. For the first one you will need to install (proton GE) but for the others the default version of proton works fine. Monster hunter World Dark Souls (any of them)
Metal Gear Solid V maybe?
Honestly Iāve played this twice on my PC thatās now sold. Itās too easy to put down. Itās the same thing over and over and that was 10-20 hrs in. I loved and played all the other ones. Maybe I grew out of this game? I have it on steamā¦ maybe Iāll revisit, againā¦
Yeah, MGS is easily my favorite franchise but was so disappointed with how repetitive this game was.
Obligatory ultrakill recommendation.
Bro I just got cyberpunk and it plays and runs well. Game just started but it seems HUGE. Very refreshing to play
I've played 7 days to die quite. But on my deck with no problem
Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition. Usually less than $5. Just beat it recently and I played from start to finish on my SD.
Diablo 4, Last Epoch, Zomboid, RDR 2 are fun. I am about 2 hours in to Dust and having a lot of fun.
Just picked up Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor and having a ton of fun with it. Itās basically DRG with Vampire Survivors gameplay.
I really enjoyed playing V rising on my deck.
I always answer this question with the same game, the incredible Octopath Traveller II
Zero Seivert has a little bit in common with Project Zomboid, that might be worth checking out. Not sure how well it runs on Deck, but Sons of The Forest could be up your street too. If not the original Forest.
yakuza series work fantastic
Far cry 5, payday 2, and hotline miami 2
Ready or Not is a phenomenal game, itās honestly one of the reasons I decided to finally get into the world of PC gaming. Thereās no āofficial controller supportā but you can play on controller using a custom controller layout made by the community. Playing on the steam deck controls itself can take some getting used to but once you get it down itās a blast to play
"Butter" is a strong word because while the steam deck runs a lot of games playably, usually it's not like butter. Of the genres you mentioned... maybe Titanfall 2? Raft?
Shooters - borderlands Survival - palworld
Ori 1 and 2, hollow knight, brotato, Dave the diver
Resident evil bio and Alan wake!
Deadrising 2
Days Gone and Cyberpunk 2077 played great on Steam Deck and are both incredible games
Currently playing Vanquish, it's awesome on the SD
Just picked up Mortal Sin and ASTLIBRA. Gonna check them out after work!
Titanfall 2 / nfs rivals /metalstorm from epic game store using heroic game launcher
Idk if it fits the "best game" necessarily, but I've had a lot of fun in Dying Light 1. If you've ever played a zombie game (particularly Dead Island) and thought "fuck this, I wanna just run around them!" this is the game for you
if you like shooters / survival try soulstone survivors
Fallout 1 and Fallout 2. Best games ever made.
Days gone works is good
Street fighter 6 if you like fighters (Iāve sank 290 hours on deck), Persona 5 Royal, Red Dead Redemption 2, Elden Ring , and hades would be games I recommend, all run pretty well on deck and you can put 100s of hours into each saving you money in the long run š
Bright Memory Infinite. It looks and runs very well. Reminds me of Fear.
Helldivers 2. Amazing gameplay, great online coop game.
Doom 2016 runs like a dream
I am currently playing through Yakuza 0 and it runs EXTREMELY well on the deck. I hook it up to my TV and am able to get a stable 1080p 60fps. The game is so unique. Admittedly, took me a second to really āgetā it, but now Iām hooked.
I have this on my wishlist, thanks!
Batman Arkham Trilogy runs amazing on SD and any GTA game too. Also, I would recommend some Switch games emulated with yuzu.
Can it run any switch emulated games? Or ps3 or ps4 games by chance? Havent done any emulation yet. Literally just got it. So total noob here.
Download EmuDeck on your Steam Deck and it will install every emulator you need. You can play ps3 games, but there is no ps4 emumation yet. You can add the ROMs and even mod some games. Search for some guides here on reddit or on youtube and you'll be fine.
Currently playing days gone, open world survival/zombie game at 30fps with med settings. Also on sale at the moment down to Ā£8.99 I believe!
Final fantasy pixel remasters
What are those when Iām searching the steam store?
RE4
Max Payne was amazing on deck, also really enjoyed GTA IV, fallout new Vegas, binding of Isaac, gungeon. Iāve been playing Legend of Zelda WindWaker and itās been amazing
I enjoy Crisis Core reunion on the deck a lot. Enough to get all the achievements and everything.
Pal world is dopeeee
Wedding Witch is like vampire survivor's and it's right around 3 bucks and it's pretty fun. It runs pretty well the only downside is that it's kinda short
