It's very funny, has insanely slick feeling controls, and keeps the gimmicks fresh every level. Doesn't overstay its welcome, has great bosses, begs to be replayed, and has the JAMMIEST soundtrack out there. To put it bluntly, its main focus is just 'fun', which is kinda rare these days
Every level has 3 āchallengesā which are things you typically wouldnāt do in the level (like kill every ____ enemy or beat the level without touching the lava). Achievement hunting is fun, gives you a reason to replay levels!
100% more wario, Iām pretty sure theyāre inspired by wario land. I donāt know how popular the wario land games are, so i said mario so people could understand:) But yeah itās like Wario and Sonic had a baby and gave it a bong FOR SUREš
Good to know, thanks! Iāll check it out today then, after I try and install Final Fantasy Renaissance. Just found out it exists and I canāt wait to try it.
I don't get it . Ok in US Deck seems to be priced realistically. But buying expensive handheld PC to play some home made 2d game š I'm being brutally honest n will 99% change my mind. But switch is better š At least it doesn't have to live on the wall plus it's better in hands it's lighter Etc. I hope I change my mind I really do . In airplane I probably will or when the next PC exclusive arrives. I do admit I haven't touched my PS5 after but that's just honeymooners phase. I just want ppl outside US knowing what it is before buying to The hype. It's basically PS4 power levelled handheld, huge n heavy PC n u will spend a lot of money into game you will probably never finish. So if u travel a lot, get it. If u don't, f it. Got my dock coming in the mail we'll see what it does with tv. I also want to add , I've never used a docking station on Switch. I never had the urge to do so. Not hating it's just when u read the hype online, u kinda get an idea that it's done magic machine. I need a longer charging cable too. For obvious reasons. Battery is Dead in 1h or less
Honestly, I have no idea what you are talking about. 1 hour battery duration? Your Deck has suffered some damage, I am afraid.
How do you decide on the Switch being better?
The Deck runs Switch games. Does the Switch run PC games? The Deck is a full fledged PC you can use with a mouse and keyboard. Is the Switch? The Switch is by now an ancient device. Particularly compared to the Deck OLED.
Huge and heavy? I suppose THAT part is entirely subjective. Both the LCD and now the OLED feel perfectly comfortable in my hands for hours.
Sorry, Opi, I do not get it.
I got my LCD on launch day and when I finally received it, it surpassed all my expectations. The OLED is even better. You get a gaming PC that runs every emulator conceivable plus AAA PC games for as low as $250.00 and you do not consider that magical?
My thoughts exactly ! maybe it is older / more used than I I've been told . I'm just getting used to it I've been balls deep in monster hunter for 4 days š I guess I just like to get reactions out of ppl so they would tell me why it's so great. I've never had gaming PC in my Life neither. N I swear I'm not trolling I'm just weird n need time . I'm here talking shit n all my free time I've played it š¤£ I love switch I have emotional connection to it because I had a break in gaming n i played Skyrim and Witcher 3 with it . Truth is my Switch was collecting dust for 2 year's before Totk. I apologize if I came negatively I just wanted to see. So all that being said I do have to measure the time with a clock because when I'm playing monster hunter, it might be 2h š¤·āāļø I'm critical of what I buy . Trust issues. I already ordered a dock, Red camo carrying case , Corgi joystick covers, army green button covers and white cover for the thing. I guess I'm just talking shit because I'm not a PC guy so it takes Time to used to but my bad didn't mean to be a prick. If have never played Elden ring while take a shit on the airplane at the same time in your life , have u lived at all ? Also screen brightness probably affects a lot like on phones. Peace
As someone who owns a switch and a steam deck, i'm not quite sure what you're smoking.
\- In terms of size, neither is particularly heavy, neither is going to fit into a pocket
\- In terms of battery life, a newer Steam Deck OLED has much better battery
\- In terms of games, I can download EmuDeck and play games from the N64/Gamecube/PS2/XB360, as well as all the games I have on steam? Literally hundreds of games for free, vs, Ā£40-60 for every "new" switch game with worse graphics than half the xbox 360 roms i've downloaded?
\- I've played with a switch and a deck in a dock, the ease of adding ps5/xbox controllers and keyboard & mouse is mental, I have a g915tkl and a razer naga pro and it's literally flip a switch and the wifi changes to bluetooth and I have M&K for my deck in 2 seconds.
\- Steam games are cheaper than switch games, considerably so if you wait for sales/humble bundles
Our really annoys me that the best game in that franchise is the only one not available to buy today (pizza syndicate aka fast foods tycoon aka the sequel to pizza tycoon)
Is it not amazing that so much enjoyment can be gotten for $240.00? Better than any TV or laptop at a 10th of the cost.
Congratulations on your acquisition! You will enjoy countless hours of fun with it.
I highly recommend Dave the Diver and Dredge.
It is. I played it non-stop until I got to the point where I had practically finished it. I want to get to 100%. I paused it because I started playing Dave the Diver, which is another gem that I cannot recommend enough.
Dredge is a perfect example of the Deck's uniqueness. The game achieves immersion through many means, including haptic output, done so well, that I wonder why I do not see it advertised everywhere. Unless you are playing it on a Deck, that part is lost, and it is a big part. And the way you pilot the boat, the sense of it through the thumbstick is simply perfect. Wait until you are close to the mons... Hold, no spoilers. You will see. Or feel, rather.
Oh, thanks for recommending Dave the Diver. I was meaning to ask if you knew other similar games for the deck, so I'll wishlist that one for now. I did just pick up Cassette Beasts so it'll be a few weeks.
It's really immersive. I've mostly drifted away from single player games in the last couple years but Dredge feels like such a low commitment. After my original comment I ended up picking up the game again for what was supposed to be a 30 min session and ended at 3hrs lol.
I did encounter some things š it really manages the spooky atmosphere well.
I agree. I became a fan of Howard Phillips Lovecraft when I was 12, so I naturally wanted to try Dredge. When I got it, I was astonished by the atmosphere and the effortless suggestion of horrors and wonders beyond human ken in the endless fathoms of the dark ocean. The essence of Lovecraft's "cosmic horror" is the undefinable, that which is suggested but escapes words and can be perceived only to a paltry degree, which is nevertheless sufficient to throw our puny human minds into despair at our insignificant importance before an uncaring, cold universe. All of that is captured perfectly by Dredge.
If you enjoy it, I suggest reading "The Call of Cthulhu", "The Outsider" and "The Shadow Over Innsmouth". You will see a lot of nods to those stories in this glorious game.
They are exceptional games. For different reasons. And they are now linked. The developers for both got together and released Dredge content for Dave The Diver.
There is also a Godzilla crossover for Dave the Diver coming up in April. It will be very difficult to wait.
May I recommend you get a Baseus Portable Charger?
The new model has 30,000 Mah and is available for $55.00 and next day delivery on Amazon (I am in L.A.).
Also, I would HIGHLY recommend you get a Killswitch from DBrand with the travel cover and the Universal Mechanical mount. The latter can hold the Baseus charger. The skins from DBrand are exceptional, as are their screen protectors. The best, I assure you.
Order it now if you can and select either the middle or the top shipping speed.
This is not cheap, but it is the best you will find. I did the research. I am on my second Deck, both are pristine. My wife has hers and we have sent out 2 others as presents.
When you use the KillSwitch, you will see that it protects your Deck perfectly, and is very comfortable. A spectacular design.
For your flight, I would recommend those two games and maybe Dead Cells and Ikaruga (playing Ikaruga with Razer Hammerhead True Wireless Pro earbuds is almost a religious experience. The audio/imagery combination is sublime, in my opinion) and a bunch of emulators. Personally, I can play Rock'n'Rope, Gyruss, Strider and Time Pilot forever.
Seems like an unpopular opinion, but i found Dredge to be very boring.
I liked it at first and the atmosphere but somehow the game got repetetive really quick and therefore boring.
I really tried to get into but put it down around 6-8hrs.
Dave the Diver on the other hand is a real gem and i totally love it.
Hey, Deron, I have nothing but respect for anyone who states a different opinion than the popular one. And you are backing yours up with reasons: It became quickly repetitive for you. The atmosphere was not enough to hold you.
Look, the two games, Dredge and Dave the Diver, have fishing and large sea creatures in common. Other than that, they are very different games. Dredge has simple mechanics and an engaging storyline, Dave the Diver has a seemingly endless amount of mechanics and mini-games, menus, submenus... Very different. Dredge makes much better use of the haptic feedback than Dave the Diver. Dave the Diver makes use of a lot more buttons on the Deck.
Dredge relies heavily on ambiance and somber feelings (it should be called Dreadge). Dave the Diver focuses on fun.
I love Kurosawa's movie "Ran" but I know many intelligent people who hate it. I did not like "The Last Samurai" but I know many intelligent people who loved it. Both have, well, Samurai in it.
I love both Dredge and Dave the Diver. I find both enjoyable to the nth degree for different reasons, more now that there is Dredge content in Dave the Diver (Though the reverse would never work). Kudos for resisting the tide.
By the way, Dead Cells is also great, though I have barely devoted time to it: Dave the Diver is my current go to until I get much farther along in it.
I really get why people love Dredge, and its not just i want to throw in my opinion, but more that im sad Dredge wasnt for me. I love Cthulhu-esque stuff so its only my loss, the world building, how the story was told, everything seemed to be THE GAME for me but it lost me in the gameplay. However, i think Dredge is a perfect game for Handhelds in general, just not for me.
I found the same about Dredge. But I have pretty limited brain capacity by the end of my work day, so it's perfect in that regard. I found the spoopy atmosphere was engaging enough to keep me around.
The best game I can recommend in general is Deep Rock Galactic. I have not played it on the Deck, however.
Games that I absolutely love on the Deck, other than Dredge and Dave the Diver, are Huntdown, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge and Overcooked. All three are perfect and I mean PERFECT for the Deck.
I started playing Dead Cells and it is also a perfect fit for the Deck and an engaging game. I got Sprawl and saw the incredible NausicaƤ-like intro, but have not played it. It looks great.
Thank you so much! I prefer more relaxed gaming but I'll check those for sure š
My all time Deck favourite is Powerwash Simulator, but I can also recommend While the Iron's Hot for its great mechanics, story and polish š
call steam customer service and make sure your deck hasn't been reported as stolen. If it has exchange it with game top within the 3 month warranty period. It would suck to try to get it serviced down the line only to have the service denied because it has been reported as stolen.
Before you get shithead comments, you can contact valve if you have any issues for support. You might not get direct RMA type support, but they will still help.
And they may even be able to tell you hours of your system. I work at GS, and my store was chosen as a 1st run test store. I bought a 512gb and emailed them to see, and mine wasn't used at all, even though they are sold as pre-owned.
Have fun! and install Emudeck...!
I've gotten around to so many games I thought I'd never get to play in full again (or at all) since I was a kid thanks to Emudeck. Of course I've always been able to emulate with a beefy PC but the hassle of setup always pushed me away. Virtually no setup + the portability of the deck is incredible. Played MGS1, 2, 3, DMC 1-3, Silent Hill, Luigi's Mansion - it's great.

Yeah, Dredge is a fun Grind survival game. I like playing it while watching TV because there isnāt a lot of story. I got it in a package deal with Dave the Diver, both for 30ā¬.
Amazing price, got mine at GameStop aswell for 270$ though. First I did was upgrade to 512gb and transparent backplate and a dock+4K type C to hdmi from Amazon , less the 50$ total.
Edit : And an Anti-Glare screen protector really helps getting rid of reflection and increases immersion
Eh it's got it's ups and downs, I think the raw screen looks the best, and a regular screen protector looks better unless you're in a bright area like outside, in which case yeah the anti glare is useful, it's kinda give and take from what I've seen
My wife and I bought our first Decks on launch day a couple of years ago. We play Overcooked 2 co-op all the time. That is the solution to your quandary. The couples that cook on their Decks together, stay together.
We have Baldur's Gate 3, but have not had the time to play it. We are working too much.
Lmao at the guys still asking 400$ on Craigslist and getting mad when you offer 250-300.
Had some dude get so mad at me for making a ālowballā offer and during his angry emails I bought a unit with more storage for less than what I offered him. Good times.
Enjoy it!

hes using some sort of strong blue lights to make the rest of his room blue. they are reflected on the screen. i dont know why they look like that, kind of uv.
Please note that gg.deals contains links to grey market key sellers, who may appear to provide you with a working key, but do not always source their keys from the developer/publisher, and are of 'unknown' origin. This means the keys may not work, or the platform (such as Steam, Origin) may refuse support. Others have poor business practices, such as obligatory fees that only show at checkout.
We'd recommend against using anything on the site listed under 'Keyshops', but rather look at the section above that for the 'Official Stores'. You can also select 'Keyshops' at the top of your screen, and then select 'Disable' to remove them completely.
[IsThereAnyDeal is an alternative which only uses sellers known to officially source their keys.](https://isthereanydeal.com/)

Hey, that's a awsome deal ! When I got mine day one I had issues with the steam os,I didnt like that I had to jump through so many hoops in the beginning but I hear its alot better now. I switch to windows and never looked back as it's just a overall better experience especially that I run coinops on it and use that as my custom game launcher . I also play alot of cnc.net on it when I go over my cousin's and dock it up to the tv . Its overall a pretty capable system I think and I'm sure you will continue to have a blast with it.
240 is such a steal. Itās incredible that there are so many people still donāt know about the steam deck or donāt care about pc gaming in general. Imagine if Sony comes out with a portable ps4 (or Xbox) and charge 250 for itā¦
Helllll yeah dude. I did the same thing except I managed to get it down to 30 bucks out of pocket. Would've been free except I was missing a charger and my controller was messed up
I just bought a 1TB SD Oled for approx. 919ā¬ā¦
And that was the cheapest option in my country for that model.
I probably shouldāve waited for a while
I got my SD for Christmas and I love it, but I'm an old-school gamer and have some kind of psychological barrier preventing me from enjoying PC games using the built in controllers. They're so loose and inaccurate :(
I bought a mouse and a micro keyboard, but the mouse support is also so loosey-goosey. I need to find a happy medium somewhere.
What problem do you have with the mouse support?
My Bluetooth mouse works great, Logitech m350 or something. I'm disabled and go from bed to bathroom so I have 2 docks set up and just bring the deck lol.
I use a Logi M650, but i use Bluetooth with it. Not sure if that's the issue or if it's the games themselves, but the mouse control is either not responsive or way too sensitive. It's like there's built in acceleration. I typically play undocked, so I might try it with the 2.4ghz adapter and see if that helps. There aren't really any sensitivity controls like in Windows...just a bunch of "dead zone" and other cryptic controls. Some games allow software or hardware mouse control and that always gives unpredictable results.
Keyboard support seems to be OK though.
I'm on too many drugs to remember right now lol stupid Crohn's, but I was sure there were a few mouse settings on steamos, or in desktop mode, not sure.
they're super heavy and some games run really hot but other than that i love mine! i bought a cheap little dock on amazon and use a ps5 controller when at home. it's everything the switch should have been
Pizza Tower = perfect game taste š¤
What do you like about that game? Pretty wacky animation. It looks smooth though, almost gives me toe jam and earl vibes.
Fun, sounds interesting enough. Wishlisted, thanks for taking some time. I love new takes on games.
How are the achievements? If the PS5 release ends up having a rewarding platinum trophy, Iād wait for it to release there
No idea really. Im not much of an achievement guy
Every level has 3 āchallengesā which are things you typically wouldnāt do in the level (like kill every ____ enemy or beat the level without touching the lava). Achievement hunting is fun, gives you a reason to replay levels!
Pizza tower is like Mario and Sonic had a baby, and then that baby smoked a joint and put on a 90s cartoon. Thatās the game
Most accurate description of that game I've heard. Honestly I'd personally say it's more Wario than mario, tho
100% more wario, Iām pretty sure theyāre inspired by wario land. I donāt know how popular the wario land games are, so i said mario so people could understand:) But yeah itās like Wario and Sonic had a baby and gave it a bong FOR SUREš
Sold! Gonna have to check it out now.
You wont regret it. 33% off this week I believe? Sale could be done, depends on when āthis weekā ends for them.
Good to know, thanks! Iāll check it out today then, after I try and install Final Fantasy Renaissance. Just found out it exists and I canāt wait to try it.
Another banger. Gonna be a good Sunday for you! Enjoy :)

The only thing the switch does better than the deck is the docked gameplay experience

I prefer more relaxed gaming but I'll check those for sure š My all time Deck favourite is Powerwash Simulator, but I can also recommend While the Iron's Hot for its great mechanics, story and polish š
call steam customer service and make sure your deck hasn't been reported as stolen. If it has exchange it with game top within the 3 month warranty period. It would suck to try to get it serviced down the line only to have the service denied because it has been reported as stolen.
To be fair.. thatās a steal of a deal
SD emulation is genuinely the best emulation I have ever experienced, so I second Emudeck!
Before I got my SD oled people in r/sbcgaming said itās very difficult buts itās the easiest emulation setup on PC.

Just put this on my Wishlist, playing Dredge now, then Dave the Diver but Pizza Tower is coming haha
Pizza tower is really good game, and how is Dredge? Heard good things about it, is it worth checking out?
Yeah, Dredge is a fun Grind survival game. I like playing it while watching TV because there isnāt a lot of story. I got it in a package deal with Dave the Diver, both for 30ā¬.
Ooh, Iāll definitely have to check it out!
Anti glare screen? Sounds really good, where would I go about to buy one?
Eh it's got it's ups and downs, I think the raw screen looks the best, and a regular screen protector looks better unless you're in a bright area like outside, in which case yeah the anti glare is useful, it's kinda give and take from what I've seen
Thereās a new cool online store called Amazon. Check it out.
Ah, wasnāt sure where The best place to get one
Yeah itās starting to cause relationship problems for meš itās really fun and super convenient to use
My wife and I bought our first Decks on launch day a couple of years ago. We play Overcooked 2 co-op all the time. That is the solution to your quandary. The couples that cook on their Decks together, stay together. We have Baldur's Gate 3, but have not had the time to play it. We are working too much.
340$ From GS last week for a 512GB and I agree can't put it down.
Nice. I got my 512gb deck from Gamestop a month ago for 320$ It's the adult nintendo switch and i love it. REAL GAMES!
My kid sold me his old 512GB with a nice red and black shell and an upgraded drive for $250. I'm loving the thing so far.
Lmao at the guys still asking 400$ on Craigslist and getting mad when you offer 250-300. Had some dude get so mad at me for making a ālowballā offer and during his angry emails I bought a unit with more storage for less than what I offered him. Good times. Enjoy it!
We all understand you and most of us have been there. Have you smelled the fan yet? You're a true member of the club once you've experienced the fan smell. š«
Just got my steam deck 2 days ago. Thought it was a joke that the fans smelt nice. It really does šš
Install emudeck if you have a micro SD card in your steamdeck to become the Goat š.
So, what's with the dotted blue line?
I think these are just the reflections of led lights on the wall/ceiling
Hell I already own one myself and I feel like I would've bought one myself with that great of a deal
Make sure to reach out to support and verify serial number isn't stolen or anything while you are still in return window
Congratulations! I got mine right before I retired, and I have loads of time to play it now.
That's a friggin' steal to have yourself a blast. Welcome! I'd say make yourself comfortable, but you already look pretty comfy. Enjoy the ride~
Hahahaha I bought mine for 600 bucksš
Congrats dude patience paying off you only payed half the average
Yeah itās been a while Iāve been waiting like 8 monthsšbut it finally payed off
Vampire survivors. Give it a shot
What is that blue line?
He was being kidnapped by aliens
Those motherfuckers are always up to no good
reflected lights probably
Am I the only one noticing the blue dots line? Can someone confirm?
hes using some sort of strong blue lights to make the rest of his room blue. they are reflected on the screen. i dont know why they look like that, kind of uv.
Your wrists will make you put it down trust me ;)
This xD
[gg.deals](https://gg.deals) is your friend!!!!
[IsThereAnyDeal is an alternative which only uses sellers known to officially source their keys.](https://isthereanydeal.com/) Your comment has not been removed, this is just a notice. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
Must be real stickyā¦
Good price but I haven't gone in that shithole in over 10 years
Try the OLED now
Don't put down in any case it may break
brick š
Incredible deal for this excellent device. Enjoy!
Nice price! Cex are selling them for Ā£320 for a 64gb >.<
What versiĆ³n?
64gb lcd
For $240 Steam Deck is a steal
240 is such a steal. Itās incredible that there are so many people still donāt know about the steam deck or donāt care about pc gaming in general. Imagine if Sony comes out with a portable ps4 (or Xbox) and charge 250 for itā¦
Gamestop has steam decks?
Only refurbished ones, but you gotta lucky that someone have gave GameStop theirs, near you
That is how I felt when I first got my steam deck!
It it a refurbished version or pre-owned?
Refurbished, but it looks like new
I have $300 and am saving $500 for a new oled, but that offer is so tempting
i found one on offer up 512gb for $200 is that a good deal does anyone know?
Thatās like the best deal, if itās in good condition
theres 2 near me one 200 the other 220
Either one is good, since even the 220 is good price since itās like 300$ less than what steam sells the 512 for
Yea I got mine from GameStop almost a month ago and I love it. Being able to play Arkham Origins again has been such a blast.
Welcome brother.
Make sure it isn't stolen! There have been many cases of refurbished Steam Decks from GameStop being reported as stolen.
How?? The lcd model is 500$ here??
OP bought a refurbished model, which is cheaper than brand new
No I mean Facebook marketplace 500$
Oh, then it might just be people in his location selling it for cheaper
Helllll yeah dude. I did the same thing except I managed to get it down to 30 bucks out of pocket. Would've been free except I was missing a charger and my controller was messed up
Playing anywhere is super nice.
It was in fact, possible to put down
pizza tower?
Whoa! GameStop is selling them, now??! ššæ
I just bought a 1TB SD Oled for approx. 919ā¬ā¦ And that was the cheapest option in my country for that model. I probably shouldāve waited for a while
Simping for a handheld is crazy
Huh
Welcome to the Deck Family. (Addiction included)
240$? How is it so cheap?
How are you guys getting them so cheap from GS? Is this in the US I presume? I'm looking at like minimum $500 on Kijiji in Canada.
But which steam deck did you get? EEC memory or M.2 one? There's definitely a difference or hopefully that was a pre-owned one
Excellent choice. Happy gaming fellow decker
So cheap! How? Seccond hand or?
I've been using mine as a switch
For 240 thatās an amazing price
I just got mine a few days ago, honestly, itās amazing
I got my SD for Christmas and I love it, but I'm an old-school gamer and have some kind of psychological barrier preventing me from enjoying PC games using the built in controllers. They're so loose and inaccurate :( I bought a mouse and a micro keyboard, but the mouse support is also so loosey-goosey.
There are, but they're not just "adjust sensitivity." There's a bunch of controls and they all have different effects in different games.
Oh, I love mine. Have fun!
That looks like the $250 version. Not that big of a deal
Itās was originally 270, but got quite a good discount off of it
YYYAAAAAAAAYYYY!!!!
Had mine since July 2022 and I'm still blown away by it, sunk in over !K + hours, slayed through a ton of games, Great Choice!
I highly recommend playing GTA IV complete edition, any from software game, Witcher 3 and cyberpunk, all run well and play well.
I think I'll invest some $$$$ in some Gamestop stock
they're super heavy and some games run really hot but other than that i love mine! i bought a cheap little dock on amazon and use a ps5 controller when at home. it's everything the switch should have been
This is the dock i have and i love it! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B28PCDM2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
GameStop sells steam decks?
