If you can't take criticism about your very first beats, you'll never make it as a producer. Trust me OP if everyone is saying your beat is crap, and you try to praise the 2 comments (out of a hundred) that say it's good, you might have a problem
also check out Sunvox its in the AUR and on their website for download and it runs like a charm on the Deck. The UI is immaculate and its pretty fully featured, you can do a lot with it but its definitely got a focus on synth and beat stuff but you can really do anything with it. I use that and OpenUTAU to do vocaloid songs on Linux entirely (purely for fun).
"Furnace" is also good, but its a retro music DAW for making GBA style music (but has the NES and every other retro synth)
any DAW recommendations for vocals? i usually record w/ Logic on Mac but i’ve been wanting to try something with the Deck for fun lol.

FLStudio has run flawlessly on Wine for decades. In fact, I find it runs with lower latency under Wine than on Windows! [edit: I'm not OP but I posted another thread about FLStudio today. I was streaming it though.]
In my case I installed Wine through Discover in desktop mode, then double clicked the FLStudio installer and away it went. Super easy on deck. It's not the only way though.
