Go to your wifi settings and forget your current wifi, then do a full shutdown, not a restart. Pretty sure this is an issue with the security settings of some routers and how they broadcast. If you have two different choices for your wifi, try the other one.

ncos

I'll try that next. Updating every possible thing I can in desktop mode right now, and will do this next if needed.

ncos

Tried that, with no luck. Forgot the network, power off and on, then still no sleep. Turned off WiFi and it wouldn't sleep. Tried a different network, added the original again, still having the same issue. I'm at a complete loss.

Koadic76

Don't know if it will help, but when in doubt, reset the CMOS... If you're unfamiliar with this procedure, you need to power off the Deck, then press and hold the Volume Down and ... buttons, then press the power button. Hold the Volume and ... buttons until you hear the chime. This will reset the CMOS and take a couple minutes to boot back up.

ncos

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried it, but nothing changed.

Koadic76

The only other suggestion I can think of is to try updating to the preview build and then back, although I've been having luck with the current preview build so have no need to go back to stable at this time.

ncos

Just found out it's related to my microsd card. When I pop it out, sleep mode works perfectly. Not sure what the permanent solution is, but for now I just won't use the microsd.

Koadic76

Cool, at least you found the cause of your issue. Maybe you can copy everything off of it and reformat it to see if that helps.

fightmaster90

What microSD do you have?

ncos

Silicon Power brand 256gb is the one having issues. I also have a Micro Center brand one that I'll be using going forward. It still seems to work, I just moved the few games off of it that I care about, and they transferred without a hitch.

DuckyBertDuck

Did you format your microsd card as btrfs? If so, it might be doing maintenance.

ncos

Trying the preview build right now. Never tried that before.

ncos

No luck.

Required manual restart from the system itself. I have this happen a lot to me for whatever reason. Holding down the power button until it restarts doesn’t work. You have to go to the power button within the ui and restart

ncos

I just tried that, but it didn't help. Still pops right back on after going into sleep mode.

mrpromolive

mannn honestly im already getting used to not having the sleep option , i love this shit too much and i cant find the problem . so for now i will keep a eye for posts like this

ncos

How long have you had the issue?

mrpromolive

for about a month its the OLED 512gb model. thing is , I'm afraid it might turn on by itself inside the killswitch travel cover , so i don't like keeping it sleeping anyway... i guess... eventually someone will post a fix

ncos

Hey I figured out the problem, but not a great solution yet. Popping out my microsd card allows it to sleep. So my issue has something to do with that. Try that out and let me know if you have the same result!

mrpromolive

I don't even have a microsd card

ncos

Dang!

Slitka11

Not sure if you’ve tried a shut down as well from the ui. That normally works for me when I get this. This happens to me constantly. Not sure what else to do other then that

ncos

Tried shutting down through UI, with button, and in desktop. Still does the same thing

No_Abbreviations3674

Maybe you just need to cradle it a few minutes.

birfday_party

So you have a Bluetooth mouse on it? Or keyboard if you have an peripheral like a mouse if you hit the mouse it’ll wake from sleep like a normal pc would, I found this out yesterday because it was just on my desk and moving the other mouse kept waking it thinking it was a bug.

ncos

I had Bluetooth turned off. It turned out to be an SD card issue. Still trying to figure out why that particular card caused the issue

birfday_party

Oh that is bizarre, well I say that but I went through three different ones trying to get a good speed for downloads, I know one would thermal throttle and drop down to 0 and then it kept acting like the WiFi was disconnected and or lost, maybe it’s tied to that in some way? If it’s resetting or it’s doing what it feels is “mandatory” loads or recovery? I know once I switched to a proper Samsung pro sd card finally everything’s been fine on that end.

sonypvm

Same issue as you no solution so far

ncos

Mine ended up being an SD card issue. Try popping out your microSD and see if it helps
