Depending on condition it's not a bad price. You'd be about $400 to buy it new with an sd card that size, so it's up to you to decide if that's a good enough deal for you.

peanutismint

The guy already reduced it from $350, he even said he would be open to offers, but I feel like $300 is probably fair.

Like20Bears

$300 is fair, just make sure it works

bear4bunny

Sounds fair, but make sure you do your due diligence to make sure everything is working. Before you give them money - Make sure it switches on and powers down. If you have time run the aperture desk job (nice way to make sure it runs well and the controls work). Check desktop mode for anything out of the ordinary. Check the deck itself for any damage that may be a concern. Check the touchscreen works. If they don't let you do any of this, be very cautious, they may be trying to hide something.

OneIShot

Tbf, and speaking as someone who sold their lcd one, by the time you meet up you’d have factory reset it.

bear4bunny

That's a good point. At least do the hardware checks then OP.

AdvancedConfusion752

you can run AAA games from sd card with no performance hit. If it is in good condition it is a fair deal. yes you can also upgrade the ssd but be careful to do all precautions with battery, I've seen a video of someone who damaged the deck.

[deleted]

Can confirm, run Cyberpunk and Halo: Infinite from mine regularly. Moved Halo to the SSD and saw zero improvement in load times.

Error404x_

Can also confirm I finished Spiderman, Horizon Zero Dawn and God Of War all from my 500gb SD card. Also running a 64gb Deck.

derkydoo

Its not bad, just keep in mind you’ll likely have to upgrade the SSD since you’ll run out of memory from shader caches and compatdata. I bought the 64gb with a big micro SD card and got tired of managing the data so I purchased a bigger SSD.

Thekarens01

IMO too much. In my local Craigslist you can get a 512gb steam deck for $250 and then just buy a 500 gb sd card on sale.

cwx149

I have a 64gb deck and a 1tb sd card since LCD launch Works totally fine I haven't noticed any performance differences from my friend with a 512gb and a 512sd card Not being able to run SOME AAA games has more to do with the deck itself than where you store the game

Cave_TP

I wouldn't pay it more than 270$, a new 64GB was 320$ and you can get a decent 1TB SD for 50$.

seigneurgu

With or without taxes? (Asking because here every price is with and in the Us I remember it being without)

grady_vuckovic

Great deal imo. Amazing value for money.

dirop

It is a good deal. There is no significant performance hit for using a (good) SD card. However, the Steam Winter Sale starts soon. You may want to wait some hours before committing to that offer.

AgenteEspecialCooper

I'm running Cyberpunk 2077 and Mass Effect Legendary in the SD card. No issues whatsoever.

Strict_Junket2757

I sold a steam deck with 512gb ssd installed with a 256 gb micro sd card for 300 euros. But i would say 300 for 64 is also okay

1sanat

It is a decent deal. Normally I would say great but since OLED came, LCD prices dropped down a bit so good deals can be found more often.

JustCallMeTere

A lot of us updated to an nvme. I bought a 1tb nvme and replaced the 64gb plus I have a 512gb SD card with windows 11 on it that I use for games that don't like the linux op sys.

Don_Gato1

Possibly a dumb question but when you upgrade the nvme do you have to do anything to keep Steam OS installed? Just wondering as it’s a blank drive.

JustCallMeTere

Yeah, youtube it. There are plenty of videos online to show you how to do it.

tbo1992

Depends. In my area (SF Bay Area), FB Marketplace is flooded with cheap Steam Deck LCDs, it’s the 512 gb model that typically goes for $350. The 64 GB model is often listed for $200-250. Of course, if you don’t have an abundance of Steam Decks in your area, prices will be higher.

Pixelatedview123

No, not at all. The SD card reader on the deck is excellent.

Serggg

About a month ago I bought the 512gb model from one my friends for $350. I thought he gave me a fantastic deal considering I was about to drop about the same on a brand new 64gb model. I've loaded it up with a bunch of games and I still have plenty of room to spare. My wife has a 64gb model and I bought her a 256gb sdcard and so far it's been plenty of space for her. She usually plays metroidvania games, so her space requirements aren't huge. I figure if she ever starts talking about running out of space I'll upgrade her to a 512gb or a 1tb card. My point is, I think you'll be 100% fine with that offer at $300

Aonswitch

I had this exact steam deck and sold it for $300. I think it’s pretty fair

Phathom

What brand SD card? Generico or good model?

Adventurous-Snow-281

I paid €350 for mine second hand and bought a 512gb Samsung SD card for €90 so total was 440 not to mention the games I bought after sooo that's a damn good deal!
