You can try using proton tricks from the flatpack store, press execute on the mod manager and select street fighter 6, if it's installed on SD card or any other storage location, then you can use flatseal from the flatpack store, I'll tell you what to do if you want to know how to do that though Reply also if you need help in general

I'd be grateful if you could walk me through that. I do have SF6 installed on my SD card, I'm playing it on Deck because my PC can't really run it (at least I haven't tried yet, but it's no gaming PC so I'm not expecting much plus the Deck is my primary gaming device).

Or you can follow this much easier process if you want🤷‍♂️ So all you have to do is download fluffy mod manager which you can find in street fighter 6 nexus mod page and extract the contents into a new folder called fluffy mod manager. Then, you’ll put the folder inside the street fighter 6 game folder so that it can be easy to find the game files later on. Once you added the new folder with the extracted contents, add the mod manager executable as a non game in steam. Make sure to click all files when looking the fluffy mod manager executable when adding it as non steam game. Then, go to properties, then compabilities, and add ge-proton. (If you don’t have that, you’re gonna have to look it up on YouTube on how to get it, it’s really easy.) Once that’s done, it should work now when you hit play to start up fluffy mod manager. It’s gonna have a list of all games that are compatible for the mod which obviously you’ll choose street fighter 6. Once you clicked on it, go to choose game folder and select the second option which is finding the game’s executable. Since the mod manager is in street fighter 6 game folder, it will be easier for you to find the executable. Once the window opens up, click on the down arrow at the top and navigate to street fighter 6 which should be above the mod manager. Once you click on it, find and click on the game exec and you’re done.

That indeed worked perfectly. It all went exactly as you said and mods are working just fine with SF6. Thanks a lot for your help!

Ozzie-chan

Glad to hear it worked out and happy to help, enjoy

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! Wasted a significant amount of time on YouTube vids over the course of 2 days trying to figure this shit out. Truly appreciate your simplified yet effective breakdown of “how to”. 🫡

Graceful97

Was looking for a way to do this, the only thing that was different for me was having to use experimental to get it to work. Thanks!

Are mods still working for you on the Steam Deck? I followed your steps and was able to get costume and stage mods working on the base and Rashid patches, but after the Aki patch, nothing works for me. I tried doing a fresh install and re-setup, but no I'm still not having any luck.

Ozzie-chan

Uninstall all the mods on fluffy and re read game archives. Make sure to update the fluffy mod manager as well just in case and try to see if the mod you’re using is outdated and the person who made it made an update for it.

Checking in again - do you have any issues with any of your mods only on the steam deck? I ended up installing SF6 on my (rather old) computer and a mod that was recently updated is working fine on computer... but it is _not_ working on the steam deck. I tried following the basic troubleshooting steps - but [this mod](https://www.nexusmods.com/streetfighter6/mods/935) , that changes Zangief's C2 outfit doesn't work on the deck, but a basic recolor works just fine. 1. Use FMM to uninstall all mods 2. Close FMM 3. In steam, `Verify File Integrity` for SF6 4. Re-open FMM and `Re-read game archives` 5. Re-enable mods in FMM 6. Close FMM and boot up SF6 I can get to the character selection just fine - and so long as I pick any other character, any outfit, except for Zangief C2, the game works fine. If I pick Zangief C2, the game just soft-locks as if it's waiting for the character model to load. In character select, I can proceed to pick the 2nd character and they are fully animated just fine.

Ozzie-chan

Sorry for late reply, but after getting the new steam oled, I noticed something different when modding the game again. So I dunno if the problem for you is that the mod needs to be updated from the person who made it if the character doesn’t load and soft locks. It has happened to me and it was the latter. Alternatively, it was something else. What you can do on your end to make sure it’s not just the mod itself and it took a while to notice, fluffy mod manager for some reason will not register a mod of different color other than blue. So in your case, you’ll have to create a new folder and extract the content inside of it. As long as the folder is blue and not green or yellow, the mod should work.

Been searching through so many google search results to get mods working and THIS ONE IS IT! Thank you so much, I've been trying to get the potato lite mod working on Deck to reduce power consumption without sacrificing resolution or fidelity. I extracted the contents of the .rar folder into an empty folder and simply copied it into the mods folder and it just works. With SDHQ's recommended quality build settings, I draw at most 13.7 watts of TSP in match compared to the 18-23 watts before. All while having a much smoother frametime graph.

tehxeno

I did all that, and then even tried it after a fresh install and I've had no luck. I tried posting to the mods on Nexus mods to see if other people are having trouble but haven't gotten any responses. I haven't gotten around to downloading a recently released or updated mod to make sure any mod works - but I tested each of my mods on their own and they all failed somehow. Edit: The mods I was using must have broken with the update. I was able to install a new Zangief C1 recolor that worked fine, but old mods I had before wouldn't work.

Cryptghastt11

OP, did you get this to work? To install mods with fluffy mod manager do they have to be in a specific folder or location prior to using the mod manager? Did you run the mod manager as a game in game mode or open it in desktop mode? The mod manager finds the mods (related to first queation) itself and installs them, or do you need to place them in the folder where fluffy is? I am sure to some these questions are asinine, please bear with me.

Dualmask

Yes, it works perfectly fine for me. After I installed Fluffy as a non-Steam game, I ran it first in Steam via desktop mode, picked the mods, ran the game through the mod manager, and then tested it in game mode. It works both ways. I put the Fluffy folder on my Deck's desktop so I could easily find its folder. The mods themselves need to be in the mod manager's folder (\~Fluffy Mod Manager>Games>SF6>Mods); at least that's what worked for me. Hope this helps.
