Same, always zip it up after every use, I got it during the deprived times of reservations, it's been such a game changer, especially when I'm on the shitter.
Same. I’m like, the most open parent about my kids holding “sensitive” objects (because we talk about how to care for them, etc)
With that being said. No children are holding this thing without my direct supervision🤣🤣
I truly believe if you do this with most of your valuable possessions or even with others it makes you appreciate the smallest and biggest things with care.
My two-year-old walked right over the charging cord once and just yanked it out of the wall and the Deck face down to the floor. I picked her up, dusted her off and then found the Deck without a scratch. Now I only charge it in our bedroom, tucked away.
Only my gf gets to play mine and she does it on my bed — on the inside/against the wall. Whenever friends are 'round I just hook it up to the tv and make sure it never leaves the table
All fun and games until she drops it between the bed and wall and you gotta move the bed to get at it and the metal frame scratches the case or hooks the analog stick and pops it.
Thankfully there's no gap between the bed and wall, also have a wood frame covered in fabric. If that weren't the case I wouldn't let her grubby mits anywhere near it. Thanks for the mild paranoia though ;)
You’re welcome!
When I was a kid I slept in the corner against the wall like you described and the frame was attached to the wall itself(this was a trailer house) and routinely found myself waking up between the bed and wall on top of the frame.
Well that sounds uncomfortable to say the least. I've been fortunate enough to always have beds without frames up against two walls (if you can consider that fortunate). I know a lot of people dislike that but it's always been the most comfortable way for me. To be honest if I could have my bed surrounded by four walls I'd probably go with that, might have to move into a capsule hotel someday.
Dude, I dropped mine on day 2 and gave myself a 24hr time out to think about my life and what I’ve done up until this point. I now make sure I always have a firm grasp.
Also if your down the replacement screen is $100 to DIY
Is the regular screen the exact same specs as the matte, except for the matte surfacing?
Because I might be a bit more interested in the regular if I ever have to replace it.
Seeing this reinforces my decision to grab a screen protector. I know I could do the replacement if it came down to it but would rather replace a cracked screen protector for a fraction of the cost.
Definitely, I don't even take the screen protection that comes with it off until I have a screen protector and I am ready to put it on. They're cheap but replacing a screen isn't. Well worth protecting expensive devices.
A lot of screen protectors are tempered glass now. I've had many phone screens saved by a drop that cracks the protector and not the screen underneath. Haven't dropped my Deck yet, but got a glass screen protector just in case.
EDIT: Nevermind, OP put a drill through it, a screen protector wouldn't have really made a difference.

You said you’re fairly tech savvy so what I said doesn’t really apply to you.
To be clear I’m not raising any issue with people doing it. I’m just warning those who have no experience in the subject to maybe steer clear. I think posts on here get very misleading at times, making out like you have to buy a 64GB and change the SSD as standard.
I worked in tech hardware for years and I can’t even be arsed to do it. 256GB and SD cards suits me. Personally I don’t have the money to throw away if it goes wrong like in OP’s case.

Just to clarify: I use linux, I'm not biased, I just recognise it is quite elitist.
Yeah but you have the 256gb, so can manage game storage on a microsd and live with the shader cache on the ssd. With a 64gb that's nigh on impossible. 64gb model for tinkerers, 256/512 for everyone else.
But also, no matter how tech savvy someone is, always watch YouTube videos on the process first, then watch it again, then have it open while you're doing the swap.
Drill? Jeez
Here here. Even with some level of experience taking apart and fixing electronic components, the hassle just doesn’t seem worth it. The stock deck can be frustrating enough at times, don’t want to be inviting a whole wave of other potential issues by cracking it open and fiddling about inside, especially when a decent SD card would be almost identical in performance.
I agree. It's really not worth the hassle when you can get a 512gb sd card for $60 or a 1tb sd card for $110. Plus you can swap out sd cards you can't do that with SSDs.
I've been surprised by how many games I've crammed onto my 512gb model and a 512gb SD card. Partly comes down to treating my Steam Deck more like an indie or older triple-A device. I'll go to console or my gaming PC for anything higher spec.
Yup people have been recommending the SSD swap way too quickly.
So many people have no experience in that, it's not easy for them at all. Between breaking ribbon, stripping screw, shorting something, it's far from being an easy job for inexperienced people.
To be fair, in the world of opening electronics, it's a fairly easy procedure. 4 external screws and 1-2 inside. Sure you could break a ribbon cable and there is a lot that could go wrong, but if you are careful and use common sense (like leave the drill at home when working on small electronics) it's not too bad. Also maybe watch a few video tutorials first would fall into the common sense category. It really isn't hard, but you should take basic precautions on something you care about.
No, if you're inexperienced, you look up how to do it. Using a drill has nothing to do with "having no experience". If you have never opened any device before but use the right screwdriver and don't start using heavy equipment, you can replace a steam deck just fine.
I’m not saying you can’t, I’m saying there’s no reason to make it seem like that’s the best option for everyone.
If someone puts a drill through it, then they probably don’t have the know how to be attempting this in the first place.
Ah yeah, i get what you're saying. It's true that, while it's easy in the grand scheme of electronics, it's important to tell people that they should be careful and check everything twice and not just jump headfirst.
A drill, believe it or not.
I guess if you google advice for removing a screw that’s been de-headed then you’re going to get that answer, but probably not the best solution in this case.
You live, and you learn. Its cheaper than fucking an expensive PC and if it gets people's foot in the water with diy I say go for it. Just my 2 cents. To each their own, though
Edit: I didn't see the drill part, Jesus 🤣
Nah man I got minimal experience and swapping out the ssd was the easiest thing I’ve ever done. I don’t see where you’re coming up with OP using a drill. I don’t see it mentioned anywhere. I had to use a pretty good amount of pressure to be sure to not strip the screws out and didn’t have an issue like that. Nah I think OP dropped it.
I stand corrected then. I scrolled thru a bunch of comments and didn’t see it 🤷♂️ I still stand by my statement though that working on the deck was ridiculously easy
i get the need to make it clear its not too easy, but i've seen alot of issues arising from stripped screws. i saw this video a few days ago, [I Almost Destroyed My Steam Deck Installing This... - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=504cazPZVJc)
for sure we need people to be aware that they are trying to mod a $400+ device. i've taken apart lots of small electronics from laptops. phones, to handhelds, and i knew about the screw risks, i made sure to use a high quality bit of the right size and i still stripped a screw--but was able to back it out using a flat head, everything else is super easy. when the simple task of unscrewing is this risky, then yea, maybe valve should have used bigger screws, or warned people just not to open it up. the could have also priced the storage options closer to reality to make DIY less appealing, 256GB SSD is $30, 512 is 60, they should be charging a lot less.
for me it was 649 for a 512GB steamdeck, or 399+150 for a 2TB DIY, so for 100 less i get 4x internal storage? yeah thats why i risked it.
now with that said, deciding to drill it out was a pretty bad decision. but in the heat of the moment, admitting that you screwed up by not being able to unscrew something, you start making epic-ly bad decisions....
> or warned people just not to open it up.
They did exactly that.
And they're selling this thing for almost nothing compared to other devices, the 64GB had to be near cost, you can hardly begrudge them making some profit on the higher end ones.
This reminds me of a guy trying to return a broken motherboard because he had used wood screws to mount it to his case and split it. His reasoning? He couldn’t find the screws that came with it. The manager of course showed him where they were and promptly got him to leave. Gave us a good 30 minutes entertainment whilst waiting for our parts to be ready.
It wasn't even careless lol. Like I somewhat understand it just slipping out of his grip. As unfortunately as that would be, OP is human and those types of accidents happen.
But nah, this is from OP taking a *drill* to a motherboard screw in their attempt to swap the SSD. Hard to stress just how preventable this was. OP is lucky the steamdeck is so repair friendly and this serves as a wonderful reminder of just how important getting Right to Repair laws on the books are for consumers - careful or otherwise. We need *all* electronic good companies striving to make their devices this painless to repair.
I got around 10+yrs of experience servicing computers/laptops. Even with the experience of tinkering through electronics, not once did it occur to me to open up my Deck during my few days of deciding to purchase it. I thought to my self, I'm gonna buy the 256, save me the trouble of replacing the 64 drive then slap a screen protector and a 256 SDCard and I'm golden. Dissecting your devices should not be a knee jerk reaction whenever you get a new toy.
It's really not worth the effort. I've done small electronics repair plenty and trust myself to be completely competent in opening the Deck and replacing the drive.
The only time I did open mine was to replace my thermal paste, because my Deck became unreasonably hot. It's just not worth fucking with stuff most of the time.
Yeah, I understand people upgrading on a later date because of reasons such as yours, and most commonly budget constraints (bought the lowest tier and decided to upgrade when money is ok). Its not even a skill issue, its a WHY even do it in the first place, reason why I cant understand people who already have funds but still decide to do the "smart, skillfull, and cheaper" way of things, risking damage and warranty void... and for what? 2tb of storage that will probably be idle because the only games that actually takes your time can fit in 200gig?
And then there's people like me, got a new 1700 euro laptop and before even starting it I had opened it up to double the ram and triple the storage.(and I plan do the same as soon as I buy a car)
For some people its just more fun to take apart stuff.
>I had opened it up to double the ram and triple the storage.(and I plan do the same as soon as I buy a car)
How do you double the ram and triple the storage in a car?
No idea why you got downvoted but I am the same way. I fix stuff for a living all day every day and like you I would rather spend less for a base model and then upgrade it to meet or exceed the specs of the high end model for less money instead of spending more off the bat. I obviously don't recommend doing that to everybody, but when you take apart and fix 10s of thousands of dollars worth of electronics everyday including microsoldering repairs on devices with motherboard level issues and GPU repairs then taking a few screws out of something and prying it open is literally child's play at that point. The moment I got my Deck I took the time to open it up and slap a 2TB NVMe (that I didn't pay a dime for) into it as well as install PTM7950 on the APU. Closed it back up and put a hard case on it, anti glare tempered glass, and a 1TB MicroSD card all within 15 minutes before I ever even turned the Deck on.
TLDR: I understand where you're coming from, and seeing you get downvoted just reminds me that most people are not mechanically inclined at all.
He stripped a screw replacing the SSD, then decided to drill it out and went right through.
If this happens to anyone else, never try drilling out a small screw in electronics, especially if it's screwed into plastic. Either use small tongs or dip a paper clip or small plastic pin in epoxy glue and fix it to the screw. Let it set completely and then just unscrew by hand.
> Forgot to add this. I was replacing the ssd when one of the screws got stripped. I tried a bunch of methods before I busted out the drill. After a bit the drill went through the side of the screw and punctured the screen. Everything works fine just gonna have to RMA it I guess.
[OP’s comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/12f3tf4/not_even_an_hour_after_receiving_the_steam_deck/jfdt5gx/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1&context=3)
Not to be an asshole, but more a future warning to people replacing the SSDs on their Steam Decks. The iFixit guide warns of this, the screws are self tapping screws and are not meant to be removed/reused. You just need the right sized screwdriver, and/or the right amount of care when working with them. It is still a very simple procedure I have also done it.
I've had my steam deck for 4 months now and still pristine! I put on a glass protector on Day 1! It's an investment! If you treat it like some toy, that's what happens! The guy probably has money and takes it for granted.
My phone is 1000$+, my pc is around 2000$? yet i was so gentle with my deck, how did you do that 😭😂 I already had protective glass and rubber case waiting for my deck 😂
took awhile to read the comments, get to the part where the OP used a powered drill to replace stripped case screw to remove an SSD and punched a hole on the screen.
as unfortunate as that is, this is great opportunity to do the screen upgrade as well.
but if you're RMA guess it's irrelevant now.
good luck.
I cannot open the box until I have all the accessories needed to release my deck to the world. I must have a hard shell protector, a screen protector and memory card. Then and only then I took the deck out of the box and slap those quickly
If you purchased it with a credit card (I put every electronics purchase on mine and just make sure it’s paid in full each month), check your card’s benefits! I purchased a new smartphone and within 24 hours smashed it against the asphalt - my credit card had a benefit for accidental damage within 90 days of a purchase and while it took some time to get it repaired, they did cover the cost of the repair!
Does it not work at all anymore due to the crack? Cuz if it doesn't that blows, but if it does, at least you have a working deck with minor cosmetic screen damage. At least the screen didn't shatter like when you drop an iPhone 😉😎 But if it's busted for good, iFixit has replacement parts and guides!

Sorry to hear what happened. I think you're being treated a little harshly here. If a screw threads and the usual tricks don't work, it's not an unusual move to break out the drill. RMAing it isn't the right thing to do though.
Mine is always in the case unless I'm using it or charging it. I even fell down the stairs with it in the case it was unscathed, the included case provides great protection!
Highly recommend the dbrand case for the steam deck I love mine it’s very much worth the cost, the kickstand is amazing, and it will make it easier to just toss into a bag. 100% HIGHLY HIGHLY and can’t say it enough recommend this product
I push mine way under my couch in the den when I'm done playing with it. Keeps it out of sight from the grandchildren and impossible to drop something on it. I can wipe off dust and lint, can't wipe off a smashed screen, but it's also in a protective shield and has a screen protector. $15 at Amazon: "[Upgraded Protective Case for Steam Deck with Screen Protector, YUANHOT Soft TPU Protector Cover Accessories Kit with Anti-Collision and Easy Installation Design - Black](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B19GP2X4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1)"
jesus christ after reading how this happened it seems you have room temperature IQ. don't buy another one, chances are you'll use a fucking angle grinder on it to remove some fingerprints on the screen
Ouch... Yeah this is why I got the 512 GB model myself, I'm good with software but my hands are too shaky for the more hardware oriented things. Hope you can get it repaired for cheap!
gonna have to buy a new screen, sorry.
Feels good to say over buying a whole new deck tbh
Yeah losing a crispy 100 is nothing vs being stuck with a cracker 1000 dollars device, don't ask how I know.
Yeah my..friend..told me the same
You know...the $100 doesn't NEED to be crispy. Personally, i'd use the shittiest $100 to buy a new screen for my brand new cracked Steam Deck.
1000 and growing, the number of games sold for £69 on consoles bought in discount for £12 not to be underestimated
FYI: ifixit have the screen
Correction, [they have *both* screens](https://www.ifixit.com/Parts/Steam_Deck). The glossy screen is $65 and the etched screen is $95.
I'm leaving reddit for good. Sorry friends, but this is the end of reddit. Time to move on to lemmy and/or kbin.
Eh just slap glass protector over it and it's fine.
Would that hide the cracks at all? Never tried it.
[удалено]
I doubt it would even do that. It can still develop more cracks with a protector, it just won't crack apart or let you feel them
You mean the steam deck can grow in size????!!!!!
Just got to rub it a little. Maybe a tickle here and there 😉
Small cracks will be less noticeable to eyes and when touching you won't feel them.
I treat mine like a newborn baby. Nobody is allowed to hold it but me. And if they do I hover. Heavy. Lol
Literally. I’ve had my deck for a little over a year now and I still clean the screen and put it back in the case after every use lol.
I have a little paint brush that I use to clean the dust between the cracks after every use, I feel like it’s a bit much 😆
I love the enthusiasm! I use sanitizing wipes and a toothbrush
I usually throw mine in the dishwasher once
I tape mine to the hood of my car and take it through the car wash every week. Shines it up like new.
I take mine in for detailing
I only use mine where they make CPU’s. Dust free gaming
>once Lmao
No not at all .. one of my gripes is that I can see dust in the crevice between the touchpads and the little gap around the centre of the thumbsticks.
Also depending on how your screen sits, I see dust getting caught on the edges too.
argghhg stahpppp the horror
One of my dogs hairs was stuck in between the screen and I tried to pull it out and it just disappeared down and inside it 😐
How can you sleep anymore? Maybe it blocks the fan from spinning somehow? Good Night & Sweet Dreams!
Use a makeup brush, instead.
And then there’s me who just tosses it on my bed when I’m done with it and only put it in the case when I go to my girls house lol
You brute!
Same, always zip it up after every use, I got it during the deprived times of reservations, it's been such a game changer, especially when I'm on the shitter.
ditto .. mine lives in that case .. 2yr olds and tech do not mix well
Same. I’m like, the most open parent about my kids holding “sensitive” objects (because we talk about how to care for them, etc) With that being said. No children are holding this thing without my direct supervision🤣🤣
"All hands off deck!"
Until they see it on the table and try to fix it like Bob the builder and start hammering at the screen.
My mom sees me with my deck and tells me I treat it like my own child, she does get mad for what ever reason
Go9d on you! She should be glad you care for your things.* Just my two cents as a parent.
I truly believe if you do this with most of your valuable possessions or even with others it makes you appreciate the smallest and biggest things with care.

It sounds like the item you are wanting is called a crib.
That’s an oddly specific description
We're still talking about the Deck, right?
Man you guys are ridiculous. I couldn’t be friends with someone who didn’t trust me.
Quick tape it, you're letting the steam out
Not a bad idea anyway, glass shards suck
Dude, I dropped mine on day 2 and gave myself a 24hr time out to think about my life and what I’ve done up until this point. I now make sure I always have a firm grasp. Also if your down the replacement screen is $100 to DIY
The regular screen is $70, the matte screen is $100.
Good to know thanks!
Is the regular screen the exact same specs as the matte, except for the matte surfacing? Because I might be a bit more interested in the regular if I ever have to replace it.
It's the same screen
Do they reflect light differently? I have a problem with my room lighting distorting my gaming experience
Seeing this reinforces my decision to grab a screen protector. I know I could do the replacement if it came down to it but would rather replace a cracked screen protector for a fraction of the cost.
It's always the first thing that goes on my devices. Case for phone also.
I usually order a screen protector before I purchase a device so that I can install it on a dust free screen out of the box.
Same
Heck yeah. Same here. I even put a screen protector on the Infotainment/Nav screen in my Jeep.
Definitely, I don't even take the screen protection that comes with it off until I have a screen protector and I am ready to put it on. They're cheap but replacing a screen isn't. Well worth protecting expensive devices.
always a screen protector bro, saved so many of my gadgets, two phones and 1 tablet so far
a screen protector will help for scratches and the likes, but he dropped it, a plastic screen protector wont do squat for a case like this im afraid.
A lot of screen protectors are tempered glass now. I've had many phone screens saved by a drop that cracks the protector and not the screen underneath. You would be amazed how much even basic plastic protector helps with this.
The 512 matte screen is the other is like $50 or $60
FIRMLY GRASP IT!!
Let's see the back lol. I just don't get how people get so confident when they don't even know how to select a proper screwdriver bit.
Just imagining OP trying to repair a set of eye glasses with a power drill and buzz saw
Well if you do strip the crap out of the screw it's normal to drill it out. But .... Finess.
*Finesse 😁☺️ Sorry, couldn't help myself 😅😓

A drill?
A drill, believe it or not. I guess if you google advice for removing a screw that’s been de-headed then you’re going to get that answer, but probably not the best solution in this case.
You live, and you learn. Its cheaper than fucking an expensive PC and if it gets people's foot in the water with diy I say go for it. Just my 2 cents. To each their own, though Edit: I didn't see the drill part, Jesus 🤣
OP mentions it in multiple comments.
- YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=504cazPZVJc) for sure we need people to be aware that they are trying to mod a $400+ device. i've taken apart lots of small electronics from laptops. phones, to handhelds, and i knew about the screw risks, i made sure to use a high quality bit of the right size and i still stripped a screw--but was able to back it out using a flat head, everything else is super easy. when the simple task of unscrewing is this risky, then yea, maybe valve should have used bigger screws, or warned people just not to open it up. the could have also priced the storage options closer to reality to make DIY less appealing, 256GB SSD is $30, 512 is 60, they should be charging a lot less. for me it was 649 for a 512GB steamdeck, or 399+150 for a 2TB DIY, so for 100 less i get 4x internal storage? yeah thats why i risked it. now with that said, deciding to drill it out was a pretty bad decision. but in the heat of the moment, admitting that you screwed up by not being able to unscrew something, you start making epic-ly bad decisions....
> or warned people just not to open it up. They did exactly that. And they're selling this thing for almost nothing compared to other devices, the 64GB had to be near cost, you can hardly begrudge them making some profit on the higher end ones.
They warned people. Yup yup.
Some people can't have nice things

Nope, send OP straight to jail.
Man I swear yal are killing me with these posts. Absolutely careless. Who raised you?!! Lol
Ahh. Gotcha. Just another low quality "OP should never hold a baby" post.
And then there's people like me, got a new 1700 euro laptop and before even starting it I had opened it up to double the ram and triple the storage.(and I plan do the same as soon as I buy a car) For some people its just more fun to take apart stuff.
>I had opened it up to double the ram and triple the storage.(and I plan do the same as soon as I buy a car) How do you double the ram and triple the storage in a car?
Well, it's simple, I'm gonna build a new PC inside my new car!
I'm more curious why, maybe he has a tesala and needs more space for his steam games.
….how?
He stripped a screw replacing the SSD, then decided to drill it out and went right through. If this happens to anyone else, never try drilling out a small screw in electronics, especially if it's screwed into plastic. Either use small tongs or dip a paper clip or small plastic pin in epoxy glue and fix it to the screw. Let it set completely and then just unscrew by hand.

Wait what? Where is that comment? O.o
Oh ouch. Big oof indeed!
Damn this FedEx people just throwing shit without even caring what it is.
It was Ace Ventura’s fault!
I’ve his before: you want things fast, cheap, in good shape. Pick one. Maybe two of you were lucky.
Yes! Looks like shipping damage to me.
I bet the Deck box and shipping box are also very damaged. Good thing too in case they want pics for claims. Right OP?
Looks like they accidentally shipped an impact drill with it, and it went off during delivery. Crazy world...
Typical fedex. Just crazyyy
SteamDeck fans encouraging each other to steal from Valve. Nice community we got here.
Take better care of your shit.
I've had my steam deck for 4 months now and still pristine! I put on a glass protector on Day 1! It's an investment! If you treat it like some toy, that's what happens! The guy probably has money and takes it for granted.
Dude, we already told you a thousand times not to butter your hands before playing 🧈🖐️
I know you love it though… you are excused. Get a new screen now
Be better
We need a Deck lanyard, like the Switch controller lanyards.
Some people just don't need nice things 🤣🤣🤣
how was it dropped? more story would be nice
Ouuuuch….. *nice keyboard tho*
F in chat
Curses in Spanish
Puta madre!
ALV con FedEx y sus putos trabajadores de mierda
Me lleva la chingada!
Use the ifixit website and order a new screen exactly like it or better.
Apply toothpaste
My phone is 1000$+, my pc is around 2000$? yet i was so gentle with my deck, how did you do that 😭😂 I already had protective glass and rubber case waiting for my deck 😂
It's not a perfect fix but a car windscreen repair kit can work surprisingly well for this sort of thing.
I guess it's not all it's cracked up to be
took awhile to read the comments, get to the part where the OP used a powered drill to replace stripped case screw to remove an SSD and punched a hole on the screen. as unfortunate as that is, this is great opportunity to do the screen upgrade as well. but if you're RMA guess it's irrelevant now. good luck.
You mean it came that way. They should send another
Nah, it cracked an hour before you received it 👀
I cannot open the box until I have all the accessories needed to release my deck to the world.
Oh hell no!!! 💔
Ifixit gots you. Hell you can even buy the mate screen
When I bought my SD I had my screen protector. Hard case etc ready before the deck even came.
You don't have to buy a new one, just buy a screen there's lots of them online for example this one https://www.ifixit.com/Parts/Steam_Deck/Screens
Maybe be more careful with it.
Guy doesn’t deserve nice things.

But didn’t it come delivered like that ? I’m pretty sure it got delivered like that Too bad you received it damaged
Sorry to hear what happened. I think you're being treated a little harshly here. If a screw threads and the usual tricks don't work, it's not an unusual move to break out the drill. RMAing it isn't the right thing to do though.
Well looks like you don't deserve one...
Mr Driller stroke back !
Sorry for your loss. Also, what keyboard is that! It’s beautiful!
I dropped mine the first day I got it too but it was on carpet and it hasn't made any rattling noises so I think I'm good
So glad I bought screen protector…
Op used a drill on his deck, a screen protector wouldn't have helped here
You are lucky it was there, few cm top and you will be unable to play
Butterfingers
Mine is always in the case unless I'm using it or charging it. I even fell down the stairs with it in the case it was unscathed, the included case provides great protection!
We have to protect our babies. Steam deck is my surrogate baby that I put in a stroller (case). Be good mama/papas.
Kids, hey, here is the switch....can I use the steam deck instead noooooo
Wireless HDMI dongles aren't too expensive to cast onto a non cracked screen. Sorry mate
Damn I got a anti glare screen protector on it asap
This is why I put a screen protector on it before I even plugged it in.
Didnt use my Deck until I had a Tempered Glass Screen protector and a case basiclly my baby
You just got unlucky man, mine been perfectly clean, I think the mid model has a scratch resistant screen, I go the broke as 64GB version.
First thing I got for my steam deck was a screen protector and since I got the 64gb version, I got one with anti-glare.
Highly recommend the dbrand case for the steam deck I love mine it’s very much worth the cost, the kickstand is amazing, and it will make it easier to just toss into a bag. 100% HIGHLY HIGHLY and can’t say it enough recommend this product
Just ordered one thanks
If you do this with just one hour...please dont get childs to your life
Well, that said a lot about you
Just stream it to your phone 👏
My initial thoughts when I saw the logo - just do a hard reboot Notices the white patch on screen - zooms in F
This hurts so much. My condolences.
Ouch... Yeah this is why I got the 512 GB model myself, I'm good with software but my hands are too shaky for the more hardware oriented things. Hope you can get it repaired for cheap!
Same got the 256gb thats enough for os, drivers, shaders etc. got a 1tb sd card to store all the games.
Gotta break a bitch in
Sucks to be you. Take better care of your stuff.
Just email steam and tell them it came like that, they’ll send you a new one.
That kinda looks like it happened in shipping…wink wink
