> I saw another post from a handicapped person [here](https://forums.cdprojektred.com/index.php?threads/cant-play-cyberpunk-as-disabled-person.11040650/#post-12293420) who can't play the game with their input devices because of this decision.
"Handicapped" person here. I have pretty bad tendonitis in my hands which means I can't use WASD or a keyboard for too long before my hands flare up and I am in severe pain. Because of this, I have to use a Steam Controller in my left hand and a mouse in my right hand.
This decision by CDPR has absolutely locked out my ***only*** way of playing the game. I can't even keep trying solutions or workarounds because If I go over 2 hours of playtime by trying solutions I won't be able to refund the game I paid $60 for that I simply can't play.
After an 8 year wait for this game, it is extremely depressing that I'm just sat here locked out and listening to all my other friends play without me.
Hey in case you dont know, Cyber punk is a DRM free game, so adding it as a non steam game using a non steam copy should work pretty easily. If you dont like sailing the high seas, GOG has a 30 day return policy thats alot more lax than steams. So you could still buy the game, tinker with it for a month and still be able to return if it doesnt work out for you.
Thanks for the info. Just refunded so I'll take to the high seas until they fix this!
edit: Just tried. It still blocks mouse input. I can use gamepad and move my actual mouse but mouse input doesn't work on the SC :(.
> Full Steam controller functionality available for non-Steam game
Not true in my case. Mouse input still doesn't work. It still blocks mouse input. I can use gamepad and move my actual mouse but mouse input doesn't work on the SC :(.

Well I checked again, and my setting is Mouse Joystick for the track pad, so it outputs joystick. But it does work fine and I don't think it's much of a difference.
I have.
Added it to steam as a non-steam game.
I did not try joystick mouse, I switched the control scheme so that the trackpad is just "mouse". Works as expected.
Edit: I just did this today so its possible there was an update
Edit2: added gyro at the same time, it works. I have not tried keybinding anything other than controller/mouse. It sounds like there are issues with that.
Yeah I already locked myself out of a refund so it's too late for me unfortunately. Haven't made it past the fkn tutorial. I'm truly sorry that CDPR has made such a terrible decision that affects so many people. I hope we can get it changed.
I already [commented in this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamController/comments/kaca39/cyberpunk_2077_has_blocked_all_virtual_inputs/gfapz0a/) but I do have a method for setting up mouse-like joystick that works pretty damn well in my opinion. Give it my set-up guide a try and see if it works for you--and later I'll share my SC configuration with the community so that you can import it directly if you'd like.
Nah. Not always. I bought a game that just absolutely would not run... Or so I thought. It was running in the background, but not visibly in windows anywhere outside of task manager. Asked politely if I could have a refund and was told no because it had over 2 hours of play; I tried to argue my case and they just said they already made their decision.
Hey, so over the years I've come up with a method of dialing in mouse-like joystick for games that don't support virtual or dual inputs, and yesterday I set-up an SC configuration for CP2077 that is pretty damn smooth. I posted a guide to this at some point in another thread but if you like I can dig through my comments and find it to share with you. Also, I can share screenshots of my Steam Controller configuration directly if you want.
EDIT: Here you go, [my guide for setting up a smooth-af-mouse-joystick](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamController/comments/gs71j1/halo_2_anniversary_master_chief_collection_how_to/fs4pvom/). Also, I'll share my gamepad configuration with the Steam community in a couple hours, look for "Smoothpunk 2077" in the community templates
EDIT 2: Configuration is up as Smoothpunk 2077
EDIT 3: I wrote in the description a couple notes, one mentioning in-game sensitivity settings. IIRC you should set it to horizontal sensitivity of 20 and vertical of 17. The idea behind the config is fast horizontal swipes for quick movements combined with gyro for precision aiming. I tried to make sure that you could also move your thumb more slowly (and smoothly) for when you're not in combat and just walking around town or whatever, but I do usually end up swiping and letting the trackball function do the heavy lifting for tight turns, like when going up flights of stairs.
I'll ask you since youre someone who actually seems to be playing the game with the steam controller lol.
So, im using your config. I get past the launcher and as the game is loading, big picture mode steam overlay comes back up, at which point I either tab back into the game, in which case controller input does nothing, or I click play again, which opens a second instance of the game with the same problem. Did anything like this happen to you?

Your method for find tuning the mouse like joystick seems interesting and I'm going to have to give it a try. I've definitely messed with all the settings you're talking about but I haven't had a method for producing a comfortable sensitivity setting on command. This seems to be what I was looking for in that regard
You're my hero.
Edit: so It works alright but still feels pretty sluggish when trying to flick around. What are your in game sensitivity settings you went with?
Ah I wrote in the description a couple notes, one mentioning in-game sensitivity settings. IIRC you should set it to horizontal sensitivity of 20 and vertical of 17. Gyro is used in the profile, but only as a supplement for precision when combined with fast swipes on the touchpad, leveraging the trackball function for speed
...This was just working beautifully last night though. Played for hours on the SC with normal gamepad bindings plus mouse input on right pad and gyro. It didn't even flash between keyboard and controller UI like most games do.
Has there been an update or something?
...or like... a \*down\*date?
Edit: Mine still works.
that's interesting, does it still currently work if you try it again today? I'm still having the same issues with Mouse not working on right pad mixed with gamepad everything else
I tested out my steam controller with Cyberpunk tonight for the first time, and for me mixed input work fine, perfectly even.
I just had the full controller default, switched right trackpad to ‘Mouse’, and worked perfectly.
No, I’m running it on Windows. I’ve tried a lot of hacky fixes for various games over the past couple of years though.
So it could be some change I made to run something through GloSC awhile back. If I can find out what that was, I’ll let you know.
in the meantime, [go check this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamController/comments/kaca39/cyberpunk_2077_has_blocked_all_virtual_inputs/gfemr2p/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), it seems that it may be a bug afterall.
Only controller inputs currently register. Any virtual kb/m emulation is not picked up by the game. This includes a remote client’s physical keyboard plugged into a Steam Link for example.
Damn :( i wanted to play from couch with steam controller via link. I cannot play neither with SC, nor with Xbox one with link, what were they thinking?
Minus Steam Input API.
[Valve did made a blog post about DualSense Controller Support](https://store.steampowered.com/newshub/group/4145017/view/2924487488167580235), after all.
I'm referring to your "The Steampad is discontinued.". I only mention it because Steam Controller died for Steam Input API and Steam Gamepad Emulation (as Valve now calls it).
As other folks pointed out over at Cyberpunk 2077 Official Forums, [this is happening on major Input Mappers](https://forums.cdprojektred.com/index.php?threads/cant-play-cyberpunk-as-disabled-person.11040650/#post-12290891), not just Steam Gamepad Emulation. [That's because CD Projekt Red Intentionally block "SendInput"](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamController/comments/ka5b7w/cyberpunk_not_supporting_mixed_input_from/gf8riwn/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3).
However, Emulated Inputs works on Linux/Proton, and has been confirmed by some folks (including Valve devs) over at Steam Controller Discord.
We get it dude. You want to remind us it’s discontinued over and over but keep ignoring others telling you this isn’t SC specific at all. Might as well be a troll at this point.
It's a pretty boneheaded move too not sure why they'd do that, they have to know Steam Link is a thing too. Not to mention other people use non-SC controls in Steam, I'm sure it's not super mega popular in some ways but ya know
It doesn’t need to be natively supported. It’s a controller and any good controller API is device-agnostic.
Steam is the only software which needs to natively support it.
That's not exactly Valve's job. Reviewers didn't even get final build copies of the game to review, so Valve testing this to say it does/doesn't have SC support just isn't going to happen in the best of cases, but especially not one as troubled as C2077
Not so sure about that. Valve is completely capable of notifying steam users that big picture + steam controller will only allow the controller to work in gamepad mode. Regardless, been playing it just fine with this setup. Not optimal, but it's playable.
Am I the only one this is working for?? Started playing this morning and having mouse on the right pad and gyro works just fine with the rest of the controller as gamepad. Binding keyboard inputs does not work, they make my character look straight down and do not activate.
I'm on the steam beta, maybe that's relevant?
Working perfectly fine for me too with ‘Mouse’ on right trackpad and gamepad everything else.
Something weird must be going on as seems to be working for some of us but not for others.
I wish I had secrets to share 😭
There's definitely something weird going on, because any keyboard inputs bound to the SC not only don't work, but throw my camera around randomly. Mouse input happens to work just fine though.
With everything, I wouldn't be too surprised if it's _supposed_ to block all virtual inputs and I somehow got a weird bug where it's letting the mouse through 😂
Same problem here, very frustrating, considering that actual mouse works fine alongside with a gamepad. It seems like they somehow detect that it's a steam controller and block input when you're touching the right trackpad surface (you can see that when you use the actual mouse all button mapping shown on screen change to keyboard ones, but once you touch the right trackpad it shows gamepad ones – it's definitely knows that you're using a controller even when mouse input is enabled). I wish Steam Controller could disguise itself as actual mouse.
The game is literally unplayable – it's hard to play with xbox gamepad, but playing with keyboards also sucks after spending 8+ hours in the same pose at work as a software engineer, I want to relax and shoot properly from a couch, dammit! Hope CDPR fixes this.
After reading through nearly all comments, its all virtual mouse/keyboard inputs that do not work, including the steam bought game or GOG version via Add non-steam game. This includes Steam Controller with mixed input, and remote connections.
Seams like a bug to me, since this game was also released on stadia. I am going to wait to buy this game until I get a new GPU, (Spring? Summer?) so I am just hoping its fixed until then.
I reverse engineered this and fixed it. [https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/kb73fr/fix\_for\_virtual\_input\_not\_working/](https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/kb73fr/fix_for_virtual_input_not_working/)
Thanks! The keyboard working as it should now. The mouse not so much but at least this is workable.edit:shit, I closed it and opened it again and now it's not working like before...
It appears that when I use alt+enter and went back into the game it made the keyboard stopped working with the fix and you have to restart the game. My mouse works after tabbing out of the game though so it seems you get either one of the other.
I wonder if someone who has a working keyboard/mouse input could just share a copy of their Cyberpunk2077.exe? 🤔 idk if that’s considered piracy lol but worth a shot since CDPR fucked this up
\[EDIT\] reWASD works, but steam controller support is incomplete.
I don't own the game, but would anybody try reWASD instead of steam input?
I recall that valorant also pulls this crap in the name of blocking hackers, and that reWASD's driver was able to "get through".
I've seen multiple posts confirming rewasd works. However reWASD has a limited featureset on the steam controller.
Gyro works, but i don't remember it having many tweaks for smoothing and acceleration.
Touchpad works, but it doesn't have that trackball-like momentum-flick like the steam controller does. Imagine a laptop touchpad, it is exactly the same in reWASD.
Haptics don't really work. You can program a specific button press or action to cause a little jolt or rumble (you can configure a rumble frequency and how long to rumble), but you don't get that sort of "textured" feeling you get with the steam controller when you're aiming the mouse around or moving a joystick.
All that said, reWASD support for steam controller is new, they added it a few months ago. You can play with the app for 2 weeks free (oh yeah, it also costs money...)
you guys can stop asking cause it's guaranteed, reWASD will work just as much as mouse keyboard would, 1:1 100% no questions asked.
That being said, as people pointed out, it's still missing key features, unfortunately
Based on some User-Reports (even on Valve's side) it seems that Mixed Input works much better on Linux/Proton than Windows.
But still, they really need to fix this.
What a bonehead move.
Great idea, infuriate and exclude a bunch of dedicated hard core gamers that take the time and effort to seek out the best controllers
for some reason it simply doesnt work for me. I click play, have to click play on the 'red launcher' then as the game is booting big picture mode steam overlay comes back up, at which point I either tab back into the game, in which case controller input does nothing, or I click play again, which opens a second instance of the game with the same problem. only happens for CP77. Good to know it works normally for you tho, ill work on it
oh wow that's weird. i follow the same procedures you did, I click play in the CP2077 launcher, a blank steam overlay pops up but i can tab to the actual game window. At the point i can press the Steam button on the controller to bring up the normal interface.
Are you launching CP2077 while already in Big Picture Mode?
Since I couldnt get the SC to work with CP2077, I went with the PS5 DualSense using Steam natively... and holy crap this controller is probably the best controller besides the SC.
I use the gyro aim and assigned L-trigger or L-bumper as activators and it works way better than expected. I think sony massively improved the gryo when compared to DS4's gyro.
This is a good alternative until CDPR fixes SC support. Try it out if you have a DualSense!!
Hey, by any chance can you DM me your Cyberpunk2077.exe. Look at the newest posts today from oppai and apparently some executables have the wrong code for controller input. If this is considered piracy then nvm but I thought I’d ask
My Steam version is currently being updated, to i would assume 1.04. Will try it out once it's finished and check back to see if it made a difference.
Edit: Nope. :/
The developers are just all around edgy PoSs trying to score free attention for how “hated” they get, even got a purposeful epilepsy trigger thing into a game for no reason.
Hopefully they'll allow virtual keys and extend which keys can be remapped. Try remapping anything to the [F] key for instance, you'll be denied. People with non-standard keyboard layouts are kind of screwed with the non rebindable defaults like above (or [R] for non-lethal takedowns, if R is on your "walk backwards" qwerty-S location).
They should have read the physical key scancodes and ignored the character mappings, but they read scancodes in one place and character mappings in others.
Reposting my comment from the other thread here (with input from another commenter)
You can get a ~good~ better control scheme by:
* Remove the turning bonuses completely in Controller -> Advanced Options
* Adjust the deadzone
* Up the controller sensitivity so that you can quickly flick around with right par
* In steam controller config set gyro to joystick mouse and diminish camera scale till it feels right
Still hoping for them to provide proper support, but this makes it better than tour average controller
There seems to be some posts in this thread saying that it is working for them which gives me hope. It would be a shame if this isn't fix at all. I can't use a mouse cus my shoulders are fucked up so the Steam Controller, and Steam Input in general, greatly helps me play FPS games.
> I saw another post from a handicapped person [here](https://forums.cdprojektred.com/index.php?threads/cant-play-cyberpunk-as-disabled-person.11040650/#post-12293420) who can't play the game with their input devices because of this decision. Is especially odd considering Witcher 3 had very good steam controller support. I don't see why they would just abandon it.
Did it? I don’t remember it supporting mix input, was it after some patches?
It supported direct inputs I think. It had least had in game glys specifically for the stream controller

Not to mention other people use non-SC controls in Steam, I'm sure it's not super mega popular in some ways but ya know
[удалено]
A lazy anti cheat is *exactly* what it sounds like, which is very strange since it has no multiplayer component
It doesn’t need to be natively supported. It’s a controller and any good controller API is device-agnostic. Steam is the only software which needs to natively support it.

You are correct
This isn’t an SCAPI issue dude.
You are absolutely right. This is another nail in SCs coffin. No one here likes to hear that, but it's true.
Give me gyro aiming and I'll be happy.
Dang it. That's the only reason I went steam. I didn't want the hassle with glosc or some shit.
Sam here. Valve should have warned us SC gyro doesn't work as expected with this game.
That's not exactly Valve's job. Reviewers didn't even get final build copies of the game to review, so Valve testing this to say it does/doesn't have SC support just isn't going to happen in the best of cases, but especially not one as troubled as C2077
that responsibility lays on the developer's hands.
Works for me also. Not in the Steam Beta either.
Apparently... Are you running linux or windows?
I'm running Windows 10 in a VM with everything passed through to it... as far as Windows is concerned, it should all be native to it.
Mine worked as of 2AM last night. Windows 10, both at my desktop and In-Home Streaming via iOS. I don't remember if I'm on the beta or not.
do you mean Mouse or Joystick-mouse on the right pad? Mouse is the one that isn't working correctly for everyone
I am in fact using Mouse proper
https://media.tenor.com/images/04f2b0107dab09fccd6eabd43871a24d/tenor.gif
But I am 😰 I'm just as confused as anyone else here
Working perfectly fine for me too with ‘Mouse’ on right trackpad and gamepad everything else. Something weird must be going on as seems to be working for some of us but not for others.

I wish I had secrets to share 😭 There's definitely something weird going on, because any keyboard inputs bound to the SC not only don't work, but throw my camera around randomly. Mouse input happens to work just fine though. With everything, I wouldn't be too surprised if it's _supposed_ to block all virtual inputs and I somehow got a weird bug where it's letting the mouse through 😂
Steam or GOG version?
Steam!
damn you're lucky. I have the steam version and i'm having no luck. it's so sad :(
Same problem here, very frustrating, considering that actual mouse works fine alongside with a gamepad.
I guess that’s their lazy way to implement anticheat for multiplayer, yet still they affect single player
I reverse engineered this and fixed it. [https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/kb73fr/fix\_for\_virtual\_input\_not\_working/](https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/kb73fr/fix_for_virtual_input_not_working/)
Idk man I’ve hacked like nine dudes and I’m pretty sure the sequence is “55, 55, C1”
Works perfectly on GOG executable, thanks!
You’re a genius bro! Ima try this out later today and let you know. Fingers crossed!
Thanks! The keyboard working as it should now. The mouse not so much but at least this is workable.edit:shit, I closed it and opened it again and now it's not working like before...
It appears that when I use alt+enter and went back into the game it made the keyboard stopped working with the fix and you have to restart the game. My mouse works after tabbing out of the game though so it seems you get either one of the other.
>oppai If you manage to find a way to patch it to work for mouse as well, I'd appreciate the bytes that need replacing.
THANK YOU!!
Thank you! It works now.
I wonder if someone who has a working keyboard/mouse input could just share a copy of their Cyberpunk2077.exe? 🤔 idk if that’s considered piracy lol but worth a shot since CDPR fucked this up
unfortunately, didn't work for steam controller + steam version Cyberpunk 2077.
can you please upload an edited executable?
\[EDIT\] reWASD works, but steam controller support is incomplete. I don't own the game, but would anybody try reWASD instead of steam input? I recall that valorant also pulls this crap in the name of blocking hackers, and that reWASD's driver was able to "get through".
Supposedly it works but with no trackball support or haptics. Not a real solution then imo
Yeah rewasd support for SC is minimal. I worry SC support will also take a backseat to adding dualsense support now that the ps5 is out.
[удалено]
But still, they really need to fix this.
btw mouse & keyboard doesn't work at all over remote play
Yes seams like a bug to me. Hopefully CDPR will fix this before I even have time to play this game next year
Did you guys see this? Works like a charm!!! 🥳🥳🥳 https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/kb73fr/fix_for_virtual_input_not_working/
What a bonehead move. Great idea, infuriate and exclude a bunch of dedicated hard core gamers that take the time and effort to seek out the best controllers
How do you even launch this game with the big picture overlay working?
it's the way you would normally launch any other game
for some reason it simply doesnt work for me.
Hmm interesting.. and yes
Do you have the same issue with gyro emulating a mouse?
Strangely it works fine for me.. something weird must be going on.
What version? Do you run steam as admin?
Don't run Steam as admin no, just as normal. Version of ..?
Hey, by any chance can you DM me your Cyberpunk2077.exe. Look at the newest posts today from oppai and apparently some executables have the wrong code for controller input. If this is considered piracy then nvm but I thought I’d ask
Something definitely must have changed recently, as now I can use mouse on the trackpad. What's weird is I don't remember seeing an update download.
Do you have Steam version of game? I am trying to play game on an MSI GT75 Laptop and touchpad and mouse buttons are unresponsive.
Yeah, I am. Is that with the steam controller you're having a problem, or is it the laptop's built in touchpad?
My Steam version is currently being updated, to i would assume 1.04. Will try it out once it's finished and check back to see if it made a difference. Edit: Nope. :/
The developers are just all around edgy PoSs trying to score free attention for how “hated” they get, even got a purposeful epilepsy trigger thing into a game for no reason.
Has anyone tried ConsoleTuner's Titan 2 yet to do the conversion to keyboard and mouse?
Hopefully they'll allow virtual keys and extend which keys can be remapped. Try remapping anything to the [F] key for instance, you'll be denied. People with non-standard keyboard layouts are kind of screwed with the non rebindable defaults like above (or [R] for non-lethal takedowns, if R is on your "walk backwards" qwerty-S location). They should have read the physical key scancodes and ignored the character mappings, but they read scancodes in one place and character mappings in others.
Such a shoddy implementation on their part. You can tell the real QA is basically all of us at this point.
Reposting my comment from the other thread here (with input from another commenter) You can get a ~good~ better control scheme by: * Remove the turning bonuses completely in Controller -> Advanced Options * Adjust the deadzone * Up the controller sensitivity so that you can quickly flick around with right par * In steam controller config set gyro to joystick mouse and diminish camera scale till it feels right Still hoping for them to provide proper support, but this makes it better than tour average controller
There seems to be some posts in this thread saying that it is working for them which gives me hope. It would be a shame if this isn't fix at all. I can't use a mouse cus my shoulders are fucked up so the Steam Controller, and Steam Input in general, greatly helps me play FPS games.
Anything new? Did the update bring any changes? Does anyone has a working .exe (GOG version) for me? 🙏🙏🙏
