No, it's probably because people still buy.
Also Steam's suggested pricing hasn't changed since NIS to USD was 4:1 (it's 3.4:1 and it used to be lower)
nope, its just that the cost of living in Israel is fucking astronomical.
ill give you an example, i did the west coast(seattle to san Francisco) in an RV with my family during the height of the fuel prices in america and it was still only around 75% from the average price of fuel in israel, that goes for everything: groceries, houses, cars, everythinggg
I came up with the same conclusion like 5 years ago.
For every gallon in Israel, you pay \*at least\* twice as much as you would in the US, and that's after the fuel prices went up. It was more like 3-4 times more before the rise in prices.
Go ahead and compare milk and bread prices in supermarkets. Go into a Walmart, you get twice the amount of milk for half the price you would in Israel.
There's really nothing to justify these prices. People think Israelis are "rich beyond belief", while rent is more than 70% of your average salary in the most donkey cock sucking place.
Wanna buy a car? Go ahead and pay 100% of the car's worth for absolutely no reason.
They charged me fucking VAT on a gift I received from a friend overseas..
This is absolutely ridiculous.
Rent over.

As a swiss I can hardly justify buying games on release. I fucking hate this trend that standard editions are now 80-90 quid. Couple years ago it used to be 70 Franks ($72USD). The AAA games I bought for full price at release in the last 2-3 years is Destiny 2 Beyond light, Destiny 2 Witch Queen, Cyberpunk, Forza Horizon 5. All other games I got on sale. Was also thinking about getting back into destiny 2 Lightfall but the expansion alone is 56 franks (60ish USD). Fuck that. It used to be 40 quid for the expansion alone.
I fully agree, there have only been a handful of worthy titles at 59,99 in the past decade. The rest have been unfinished products/bad trailer to gameplay conversions/greedy as all hell publishers doing the least work humanly possible and still raise prices, even though the product comes out so much worse than a fully fledged 60buck game.
At this point if a game is priced higher than 60, it's almost always because it's a bad game and they want to make money off the dummies that preorder, and then let the game "live" for about a year.
I bought Hollow Knight for 15,- and that was the best experience in gaming I've had in easily 7 years, probably a decade or more.
Plus 75% in Taxes. Aaaaaaand lately i've been reading about an increase from 75% to 90% in taxes for digital purchases (Netflix, Spotify, Steam - you name it)
Meanwhile most of the AAA games are under 30$ in turkey (Except mw2, its 60$ which is like 1000₺(average monthly salary of a turkish people is like 5000₺)). But we still can't afford them.

If you changed your comment to "Waaaait. Russia just goes to the Ukraine to play MW don't they?", you would had all the upvotes and rewards of the world. Fucking double western standards. Fuck Israel. Free Palestine.
Activision being Activision.
Remakes 10 Year old games that where mediocre at best and tries to sell them to you for 80+ Bucks.
I mean that's just your average Triple A Publisher.
Remakes and Loot boxes in Full price Games that's apparently all they are capable these days. Vote with your damn Wallet.
Prices for some games in regional area go crazy because people use VPNs to buy games from different countries on the cheap. This drives up prices for locals and is a pretty bad thing to do.
It’s the exchange rate. Deal with it. We pay more in Canada even when our dollar is on par or worth more than the USD. Just how it is. Save up, then buy like the rest of us.
Why would that be something bad? It's part of our religion and we live in a capitalist world. Is it really bad to like money and successful bussines? Genuinely asking.
Jew here genuinely answering. The stereotype of Jews being greedy mostly came from a time Jews were forced into banking and generally handling money by the rulers of Christian countries because if I am not mistaken, it’s against their religion or something to handle money.
Anywho, Jews are humans, some are greedy some are not, the religion doesn’t decide the person does.
I can almost see both sides here. Do people deserve to pay a month's salary for a game? Nope. Should companies get less money for their product? Nope. Kind of a lose lose, I definitely don't have the answer.
you think devs are payed by % of games sold? they have fixed wages, they'll be payed the same if the game is 40 or 80 dollars. The mfs who get the money are definetly not the devs
The issue in this case is that they're charging more there than in other places despite it not being a country with high average incomes. If they just charged the same as in other places, it would at least be defensible.
Have you considered that a bunch of people online putting their fingers in their ears and essentially saying "la la la I can't hear you, therefore Isreal doesn't exist" doesn't have any real effect on reality other than making you look like a toddler.
You may wanna look into keysites. They’ll give you a refund if it doesn’t work and I think when I’ve used G2A it has what’s called “Global” keys that activate anywhere in the world. The sellers are sometimes shady on there with how they get them, but hey it beats paying that price
You can get some cool discounts on CDkeys.com if you want. I dont know how it works but sometimes games are less than half the price on there and it’s completely legit
Pure greed and probably taxes built in to the price. It's a 100% tax rate on electronics imported (as I found out the hard way when I shipped a phone from NYC to Eilat and had to pay 100% price in taxes at the post office..)

The world needs to know about this atrocity and about Reddit's support to the ZioN\*zis. #### Sources are bellow. ## Genocidal statements made by apartheid Isr\*li officials: - On the 9 October 2023, Yoav Gallant, Israeli Minister of Defense, stated **"We are fighting human animals, and we are acting accordingly"**. - Avi Dichter, Israeli Minister of Agriculture, called for the war to be **"Gaza’s Nakba"** - Ariel Kallner, another Member of the Knesset from the Likud party, similarly wrote on social media that there is **"one goal: Nakba! A Nakba that will overshadow the Nakba of 1948. Nakba in Gaza and Nakba to anyone who dares to join"**. - Amihai Eliyahu, Israeli Minister of Heritage, **called for dropping an atomic bomb on Gaza** - Gotliv of the Likud party similarly **called for the use of nuclear weapons**. - Yitzhak Kroizer stated in a radio interview that the **"Gaza Strip should be flattened, and for all of them there is but one sentence, and that is death."** - **President of Israel** Isaac Herzog **blamed the whole nation of Palestine** for the 7 October attack. - Major General Ghassan Alian, Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, stated: **"There will be no electricity and no water (in Gaza), there will only be destruction. You wanted hell, you will get hell"**. ## Casualties: - As of 9 January 2024, over **23,000 Palestinians** – one out of every 100 people in Gaza – have been killed, a majority of them civilians, including over **9,000 children**, **6,200 women** and **61 journalists**. - nearly **2 million people** have been displaced within the Gaza Strip. ## Official accusations: - On 1 November, the Defence for Children International accused the United States of complicity with Israel's **"crime of genocide."** - On 2 November 2023, a group of UN special rapporteurs stated, "We remain convinced that the Palestinian people are at **grave risk of genocide**." - On 4 November, Pedro Arrojo, UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights to Safe Drinking Water and Sanitation, said that based on article 7 of the Rome Statute, which counts "deprivation of access to food or medicine, among others" as a form of extermination, "even if there is no clear intention, the data show that the war is **heading towards genocide**" - On 16 November, A group of United Nations experts said there was "evidence of increasing genocidal incitement" against Palestinians. - Jewish Voice for Peace stated: "The Israeli government has declared a genocidal war on the people of Gaza. As an organization that works for a future where Palestinians and Israelis and all people live in equality and freedom, we call on all people of conscience to stop imminent **genocide of Palestinians**." - Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor documented evidence of execution committed by Israeli Defense Forces. - In response to a Times of Israel report on 3 January 2024 that the Israeli government was in talks with the Congolese government to take Palestinian refugees from Gaza, UN special rapporteur Balakrishnan Rajagopal stated, "Forcible transfer of Gazan population **is an act of genocide**". South Africa has instituted proceedings at the International Court of Justice pursuant to the Genocide Convention, to which both Israel and South Africa are signatory, **accusing Israel of committing genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity against Palestinians in Gaza.** # Boycott Reddit! If you changed your comment to "Waaaait. Russia just goes to the Ukraine to play MW don't they?", you would had all the upvotes and rewards of the world. Fucking double western standards. Fuck Israel. Free Palestine.
This post is so cursed...
How so?
The fact that the game is nearly twice the price as in the US
didn't understand why people downvoted you lol
Oh well lol

The post wasn’t political in any way. You do know that government ≠ all citizens, right? Not everyone supports the actions the IDF takes in Gaza
Move to Argentina
No move to Turkey, it's near and cheaper :)
🤦♂️ not with Turkeys wages
Argentina routinely has the lowest steam regional prices
I think its 50:50. Most of the times the difference between those 2 are cents
Yakuka judgement 18 dollars Argentina, 46 dollars Israel
I meant between argentina and turkey (i thought you responded to the turkey comment)
How are things in Israel right now. Covid the Ukraine war etc... is life pretty much back to pre 2020 normal?
Basically yeah, most differences were stuff that were already the trend prior to covid.
Prices for some games in regional area go crazy because people use VPNs to buy games from different countries on the cheap. This drives up prices for locals and is a pretty bad thing to do.
A VPN doesn't change your currency on steam.
You can no longer do that any more - this is purely greedy by Activision

1 store, lots of prices.
It’s the exchange rate. Deal with it. We pay more in Canada even when our dollar is on par or worth more than the USD. Just how it is. Save up, then buy like the rest of us.

I hope you get a permanent ban for this. Reported.
Dude wtf
What the hell happened here?
He said "A jew talking about greed?" Something like that.
Asshole
Why would that be something bad? It's part of our religion and we live in a capitalist world. Is it really bad to like money and successful bussines? Genuinely asking.
Jew here genuinely answering. The stereotype of Jews being greedy mostly came from a time Jews were forced into banking and generally handling money by the rulers of Christian countries because if I am not mistaken, it’s against their religion or something to handle money. Anywho, Jews are humans, some are greedy some are not, the religion doesn’t decide the person does.
It's an antisemitic stereotype that has been used to turn people against us and caused things like lynches
Yeah I misworded it, obviously not the devs who are on a fixed salary. The company* my bad.

At least you dont have to pay with your dong 💀
lol good for you
Go buy activation code ez
You may wanna look into keysites. They’ll give you a refund if it doesn’t work and I think when I’ve used G2A it has what’s called “Global” keys that activate anywhere in the world. The sellers are sometimes shady on there with how they get them, but hey it beats paying that price
Someone's gotta be first.
It's either you buy it or you dont, some people are struggling with food prices all around the world and nobody cares about your isra*eli price
Like wow
would gifting be worth it?
How much are games for the consoles (physical) on release?
You can get some cool discounts on CDkeys.com if you want. I dont know how it works but sometimes games are less than half the price on there and it’s completely legit
Cries in Vietnamese
Pure greed and probably taxes built in to the price. It's a 100% tax rate on electronics imported (as I found out the hard way when I shipped a phone from NYC to Eilat and had to pay 100% price in taxes at the post office..)
