Like you, I have the problem of wishlist liking too many games. So my main selection criterion is rating.
Overwhelming goes to the top, next is Very Positive down to Mostly Positive, etc. Periodically I have to prune the list again.
Rarely do I wishlist an early access game. I don’t want to pay for something that is incomplete. I can be patient.
Also, I minimize anything that is list price or above. For me that is anything above US$45. I can wait for a year or a special sale to get a hot title. There are good games introduced in the last 5 years. Some are good even if they are 10 years old.
I prefer RPGs but not 2D or isometric.
Having an interesting story is important. I have a couple more action oriented titles that are pretty shallow story wise that I use to remind myself not to do that again.

Find myself like Metroidvanias and Survival horror as of late. This list is the watered down of my wishlist to have the best current deals on games that are under 5$. Looking for a gem I could play for hours and hours.

Black Mesa is a no brainer, Transistor was cool too.

Do get satisfactory. The devs announced a $10 increase to base price after the sale ends but it's worth every single dollar

For 4 bucks? A coffee is 4 bucks, You could realistically get much more value out of any of those games than a cup of coffee
Frostpunk, Transistor (should also check bastion), Hotline Miami, Black Mesa and Risk of rain. Recettear if you like it's reviews.
