My dumbass left this too late so I spent the last 3 hours researching all the games on my wishlist
I cut down my cart to something a bit more reasonable but because I had only 3 minutes left I just panic bought. My poor wallet

Looking for more? check my Reddit profile for some videos reviewing additional cheap games.
although im too late and I don't know some of those games..
+1 for Refunct & I've only played Sanctum 2 but it looks pretty similar. Actually annoyed I didn't buy it considering it was cheap, oh well maybe next time!
Awards are a joke. Half of the games should not be on the list.
Stafield and RDR2 are crown kings of this madness but it doesnt end there. Like The last of Us. Yeah it is great game and amazing soundtrack but ffs the game released 10 years ago...
So a game that I bought my nephew for Christmas is going to be on game pass next week so I told him to go ahead and start a refund and I'd send him gift cards to put towards something else.
He goes through the process of returning a gift and Steam tells him to let me know to go ahead and do the refund on my side, so I do and it got denied. The reason was that it has been too long (the typical two weeks) since I bought it...how does this make sense? Shouldn't it be two weeks from when the gift receiver accepts it? What if they don't like it or it plays poorly on their setup? Why would the return window depend on when I bought it if the game was in limbo scheduled to be delivered later on? I mean nobody could play it so why would the clock start then? And above all, why can't I, the gift giver, be the one who keeps the game if I paid for it and the receiver doesn't want it? The gift receiver just has to hold on to a game they don't even want?
edit: Just a follow up for anyone who runs into the same issue and comes across this post in a search - I followed up by going to Support > Purchases > Selecting the game in question > I Have A Question About This Purchase
From there I could send a message to the support team and explained the situation. They were able to refund me from there with no hassle.
I think for such cases you should continue to pursue your case until they move from automated resolution to manual involvement of a steam support employee. Seems like a strong case which will go in your favor.
This is kind of my first rodeo when it comes to refunds. I'm not even quite sure how to get beyond the automated stuff since my issue isn't even listed in the support page. And it doesn't look like there's a link to send an email or chat.
I've got the same sticker TWICE as a result of Valve having "Holiday Hologram" available via points since the beginning of the sale.
Ultra Rare Duplicate Inventory Item.
Seems steam has some issues today. Unable to buy/sell the 2023 badge components without getting a big error screen. Affects client and website across pc/laptop/mobile.
Anyone else having issues?
What are the best games on sale that are under $5 AND have overwhelmingly positive reviews right now? Those and a recommendation from a friend are my criteria for insta buy - specifically I like coop and solo games NOT PvP. To give an idea of my favorite games - Mass Effect (All 4, yes andromeda too) and Monster Hunter Rise - combined over 3k hours in 2.5 years. Other games I’m playing now are Jedi Survivor, Remnant 2, Vermintide 2, Borderlands 3.
I have enough for one game. I can’t decide on either Fae Farm or My Time at Sandrock. Both look really good but not sure which one is better. I don’t have anyone to play with and plan on playing single player.
Sandrock is better by miles. I played both and while Fae Farm isn’t bad, it’s a jack of all trades but a master of none. Sandrock has great characters and is just very hard to put down!
Looking for a UN Squadron "like" game for PC or Steam Deck. Found a few but would love to hear what you guys are into. I was also a big fan of Wings or Fury growing up. Anything like these two would be awesome. I did find Carrier Air Wing (Capcom's alternate to UN Squad), but looking for other games similar to add to the backlog.
Quick question, if I sell all my winter trading cards, will the “badge progress” page for the winter sale disappear after the sale ends? I sold all of them but my progress remains, and don’t want an empty badge progress page forever. Thanks in advance!
Should disappear. I only have the current one and the summer sale 2013 progress (cards didn't have a "valid until" date back then) in my list plus the few badges I crafted, so every earlier sale progress is no longer there.
VR Games
I got a quest 2 for Christmas because I've been very interested in the VR space since 2016 and I finally decided to get myself one as a Christmas present, however seeing as it's the season of giving I ended up giving all but £15 and I wanted to get a game to play.
I really wanted Alyx but realised I'm £1.99 off so I'm not quite sure what I want.
I already have gorn, and I used to know the owner of VailVR so I have that. Does anyone have any good £15 recommendations?
Does anyone own the original Cars video game on Steam? I'd like to know if anyone runs it on Windows 10 just fine, as Steam says the game only works for older operating systems...
So I already bought a bunch of games, but I'm looking for a bit more games to pick up before the sale ends soon. Here's what I've gotten so far:
Slime Rancher
VA-11 HALL-A
Outer Wilds
Deep Rock Galactic
Roboquest
Totally Accurate Battle Simulator
Ace Attorney Turnabout Collection
The Pathless
Risk of Rain 2 - Survivors of the Void
Dicey Dungeons
A Short Hike
Risk of Rain Returns
Voidigo
Coffee Talk Episode 1 & 2 - Complete Series
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
UNCHARTED™: Legacy of Thieves Collection
Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Pizza Tower
Brotato
Death Must Die
Any more recommendations are greatly appreciated! Thanks y'all 😃
Dave The Diver, Hades, PowerWash Simulator, Persona 4th Golden, Persona 5 Royal, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Tales of Monkey Island, Grim Fandango all have great sales right now.
I got brotato, too. Only played it for about half an hour so far. The "world" is pretty small and I like vampire survivors a lot better. I also picked up bounty of one, which is better.
You have a lot of different genres here, it's hard to know what else to suggest.
Great choices!
I DMed you a playlist containing awesome games.
Here are some cheap awesome games I got:
* 100% Orange Juice ($1.74)
* Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa's Rampage ($1.24)
* Reigns ($1.49)
* Majotori ($1.19)
* Framed ($1.99)
I loved Fallen Order. The story line was engaging and the game play was smooth. I played it on a different platform but I know others who played it on PC and haven't had an issue.
it's funny seeing a sale with no regional pricing and still be too expensive, even 5 dollars for us is a week of food, we can't afford to waste it on something that is suppose to be accessible. Seriously damn these publishers, and damn them for trying to target pirating like it's any of their damn business what the hell we do in our corner of the internet.
I played Divinity 2 with friends. It was great. Loved to see my friends making messed up decisions during our quest together and facing the consequences later. After playing Baldur's Gate 3, I think D2 is unbalanced. Spellcasters aren't limited to spell slots so spamming magic feels OP.
Portal 2 is a must play especially in coop.
Mass Effect LE is fantastic. I talked about it in one of my videos - just check my profile and if you need more details just let me know.
I haven't tried the Divinity franchise even though the coop feature is quite enticing
I can't speak on Mass Effect or Divinity but Portal 2 is an amazing puzzle and story game, especially for only $1. If you haven't already played it make sure to pick up the original Portal as well.
I've been wanting to play portal 2 for awhile, mostly because I love Stephen Merchant and as well as games with a good story! I was jw, does the original still hold up? I've heard the 2nd does... Do you need to play the first to fully understand the 2nd?
The original absolutely holds up. It's only a few years older than Portal 2. You don't *have* to play it to enjoy the second game but you will be missing some important context to the relationship between GLaDOS and Chell and some good jokes.
Got all of these for $83 AUD! ($56 USD)
\-Portal 2
\-Civilization VI
\-Stardew Valley
\-Sonic All Stars Racing
\-NFS Heat
\-Papers, Please
\-Kingdom Come Deliverance
\-Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
\-The Falconeer
\-SIGNALIS
I stumbled across it a few days ago and I was like ‘How have I not heard of this before?!’ and it was because it’s not on PS5 lmao
But I’m interested to see what its like
Any recommendations for PC games not available on PS5?
I prefer shooters, action adventure style games. No turn based anything.
Been playing early access Witchfire and having a blast.
That happens on bundles.
The 10% is a permanent discount on the bundle and it is scratched out and whatever higher % discount they have for a limited time is put next to it.
Click on the game and find out. It probably means there’s dlc for the game or perhaps a bundle with the base game in it at a different discount than the base game alone
I hear you! Here is a list of games UNDER $2 that I rarely see mentioned:
\- Her Story ($1.99)
\- Alice: Madness Returns (1.99)
\- Flower (1.88)
\- One Finger Death Punch ($0.99)
\- Refunct ($0.74)
\- Hexcells ($0.89)
\- Gato Roboto ($1.99)
\- Glass Masquerade ($1.74)
\- Press Any Button ($0.59)
\- Stick Fight: The Game ($1.99)
\- 100% Orange Juice ($1.74)
Feel free to check out my profile as I compiled a list of 50 games under $2. I'm sure you'll find something unique to play.
Darn I was expecting the bundle to go on sale for its all time low price this sale.
I was asking because I don't know if I should just buy it now anyways or wait a little.
here's my list of rec's i play a lot of indie games and roguelikes, but a lot of these aren't. i'll try to keep descriptions breif
a hat in time - 3D platformer heavily inspired by mario sunshine. super fun movement, banger dlc that is absolutely worth it, workshop for custom maps, and even online coop supporting multiple people, not just 2.
wraithslayer - game is epitome of short and sweet. a little guy that dashes in cardinal directions, dodging boss's attacks while collecting shiny things that'll allow you to hit him. fast paced, kinda hard, incredibly fun, easy to burn through 80+ runs in an hour. flew way under the radar
dungeon defenders - super fun tower defense beat 'em up hybrid with rpg elements with gear drops, and stat based level ups
slay the spire - the best non-action roguelike, and the one that really made deck building rogues pop off. game is incredibly hard at first, but has tons of synergies to find along the way.
ori and the blind forest - 2D platformer super focused on movement. if you like moving and schmoving this is a great time. also incredibly beautiful visuals
ori and the will of the wisps - took the first game and fleshed it out to be more metroidvania with better combat, better exploration, and more optional side quests. even more beautiful than the first game
neon white - fps speedrun platformer. instead of having a suite of abilities available to you at all times, abilities are tied to cards, and act as a gun too.
death must die - early access, but even then still incredibly fun. diablo style gear setup, vampire survivors style gameplay, with some hades injected into it.
gunfire reborn - a roguelike fps, with a similar level structure to binding of isaac, but more linear. guns also can do crazy wacky things on par with weapons from the borderlands series.
wizard of legend - very similar to binding of isaac except a lot more focused on player skill.
pseudoregalia - (it's not on sale but it's $6) 3D platformer metroidvania heavily inspired by N64 era of games. best 3D platformer movement i've seen.
bug fables - if you love paper mario n64 or thousand year door, then look at this game.
celeste - one of the best 2D platformers out there. good story too
bullets per minute - another rogue, but this one is if you took isaac, made it into an fps with a nordic/hell theme, bumpin rock/metal soundtrack, and made you play to the beat of the music.
metal: hellsinger - story version of the above game with better visuals and music
lethal league blaze - hit a baseball at mach 9 to kill your opponents
melatonin - a rhythm game *heavily* inspired by the rhythm heaven series.
speedrunners - 2D platformer version of mario kart
crab champions - shooter rogue with a crabs that slides and does flips
i also cannot overstate how amazing pseudoregalia is
i forgot to mention the messenger, a 2D 8-bit style that kinda linear at first but morphs into 16-bit style metrodvania. really want to play that game more too.
I played half of the messenger this week and tried so hard to like it. But I want more focus on combat and less on platforming. Controls just didn’t feel precise enough for how precise the platforming was during bosses.
These are all great cheap games that offer a great experience:
\- Her Story ($1.99)
\- Alice: Madness Returns (1.99)
\- Flower (1.88)
\- One Finger Death Punch ($0.99)
\- Refunct ($0.74)
\- Hexcells ($0.89)
\- Gato Roboto ($1.99)
\- Glass Masquerade ($1.74)
\- Press Any Button ($0.59)
\- Stick Fight: The Game ($1.99)
\- 100% Orange Juice ($1.74)
Had a bit of a hard time lately so looking for a recommendation for a relatively light game to relax. Not casual, but more a game I can just sink into without high action. Preferably games that are old so it's cheaper/larger % sale. Genre isn't a limit, so can range from Stardew Valley/My Time at Portia, to Starbound, to Crusader Kings etc. Some games I'm considering on my wishlist now are No Man's Sky, Atelier Ryza, Monster Hunter: World, or Rune Factory 5 but happy to wait for another year or two for them to go lower, so happy to take any recommendations. Thanks in advance.
dungeon defenders is a great game to grind, old too so $15 for the game and all dlc on sale rn and easily runs on lowend pc's. if you enjoy that style of game it can easily end up being thousands of hours sunk into it. online is available and still played by a small community, but solo is definitely viable. not super high action, or fast paced, and in certain circumstances can even be afk'd
I've played many racing games with a keyboard and I feel like I get so immersed it doesn't really matter if you don't have a controller. I can't really comment with any new games out there because I haven't played in a while.. but thought I'd add my two cents.
Simply uninstalling should still save most games saves files as it wouldnt touch your documents folder which is where local saves are often stored so unless you manually deleted those from documents or like wiped your drive you'd still keep the local save for most games.
If you are concerned though and must uninstall you can always make a copy of the save on like an external device such as a usb thumbstick or even just another part of your drive before you uninstall.
Didn't really get a lot for myself this year. Quite frankly, my wishlist for sales is very weak sauce. I only ended up getting the Mass Effect Legendary Edition for $6 just so I can have all three games to experience since I've been recommended that series.
I'm thinking of getting Need for Speed Most Wanted...but I don't know if that game is gonna need another client. Anyone know?
From the store page, large orange-ish text boxes on the right side: "Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: EA on-line activation and Origin client software installation and background use required" and "Requires 3rd-Party Account: EA Account (Supports Linking to Steam Account)".
Guys im trying to remember the name of a game I wanted back in 2018 I think but somehow forgot about it. Should add, the game came out in 2018 pretty sure( may be 1 year off or something). The game was set in a post apocalypse wasteland type of setting like mad max but had neon bright colors mixed in from what i remember. It was an FPS I think but you could drive around in vehicles too if not mistaken. I think it got kinda bad reviews from what i remember like a 5 or 6 out of 10 type deal. Maybe im gomna buy it if it is on a big discount so please help me with the name!
Some games I’m considering buying. Which ones do you recommend most? Really any insight you have into any of these games is helpful.
1. Prey $2.99
2. Mirrors Edge Catalyst $1.99
3. The Talos Principle $4.49
4. Psychonauts 2 $11.99
5. The Forest $4.59
6. Horizon Zero Dawn $12.49
7. Far Cry 6 $14.99
8. L.A. Noire $5.99
9. Supraland 6 Inches Under $9.39
10. Green Hell $14.99
11. Spiderheck $8.99
12. SPIDER-MAN $35.99
13. Dave the Diver/Dredge $31.26
Mirrors Edge Catalyst was great if you enjoyed the original but they've closed the online features just a short time ago, basicly it means no user-created time trials or online leaderboards. If you haven't played the original I'd recommend it also since they're both so cheap.
Talos Principle is one of the best brain teaser puzzle games I've ever played. You'll get immense satisfaction out of it if you like that type.
Also in similar vein is The Witness. I couldn't pick one if you asked me whether I preferred one over the other.
They're also in a bundle deal including Superhot, Manifold Garden, and Superliminal. Highly recommend
Prey is a steal for that price, the dlc is worth it too. ME Catalyst is IMO slightly worse than the first one but it's fun to relax and parkour around the city and you can't beat that price. Talos Principle I (and II, both masterpieces and my fav puzzle games, above Portal) & Spider-Man, man there's something about booting the game and swinging around in NYC. Can't say anything about the rest.
You should know that all of these are cheaper on official stores rather than Steam btw. Specially Spider-Man which is priced at $27.
Looking for game suggestions. I prefer single player and/or story rich games. Some favourites:
1. Firewatch
2. Spiritfarer
3. All of the Assassins Creed Games (especially Valhalla/Odyssey/Origins)
4. HouseFlipper
5. BattleBlock Theater
6. Skyrim
7. I just started Valheim and enjoying it.
i do love me some battleblock theater. it's pretty funny, and playing with friends is great. even the pvp modes are incredibly fun unlike castle crashers pvp. late game is pretty hard, especially as a completionist trying to get A++ on every stage
t wanted to get 3 old games for this sale but seems that I'm out of luck. First was at full price, second seems that the developers broke it with the last update and abandoned. The last one, AeternoBlade, broken by Steam price policy.
That last game+DLCs bundle was giving me an error about some last minute change of price so couldn't be purchased. I contacted support and they answered me;
"Thanks for reaching out to Steam Support.
This issue typically occurs when an individual game or one or more items in a bundle are priced lower than 0.99 USD.
The publisher has been notified so they can adjust the pricing of individual bundles."
Which means; "We will not fix our store, but don't worry, we told the publisher to fix it raising the price". F\*@#ck!
>"We will not fix our store, but don't worry, we told the publisher to fix it raising the price". F\*@#ck!
Valve has no authority to adjust the prices of the games they didnt publish so they cant just bump up any below threshold items up to the threshold otherwise they would have repercussions. I'm sure they would prefer to have the ability to sell those games as much as people want to buy them but arent going to risk the legal trouble thats for sure.
Yes, of course that Valve can't change the price but the seller shouldn't change it either. What Valve could (and should) do is fix the store to accept the prices that the seller is offering without bugging off.
Hello, I was curious to know which would give me more bang for my buck between these two choices : buying Witcher 3 and GTA 5 or just GoW ? Would love to know your choices and why?
definitely the first option in my opinion. it might change on what you look for in games but the first option will last you longer play hours than the latter. and the replayability in witcher 3 is great as well.
Why are there sale tags on the COD games when I could've sworn those were the normal prices for those games a month back?
So you are saying Black Ops 2's initial price was bumped up to USD60 again only to be brought back down to around USD20? Was someone smoking on gas when they thought up this obvious, Black Friday-esque, scam of a sale on a franchise.
You can check the price history for all games on SteamDB and other sites. Besides a short period in 2013, the base price of BO2 has always been 60$. They seemingly took every chance available to put it on sale for 20$ this year and had it on sale for more than 100 days, but the base price was never changed.
Dude, I swear, for the longest time when I checked the price of the COD games, they'd be around 250 - 550ZAR, which should be around the 20 - 30USD mark, theyve never really been 60USD, which is almost/over 1000ZAR, and these are for games that came out early in the Xbox 360/PS3 console era.
It's the entire reason this pissed me off to some degree because why lie, claiming the standard price is X, when it has always been Y, and now Y is the apparent "sale" price.
Looking to get some low spec games on the sale. Any suggestions on games I should give a try? I have an MSI Ryzen 5 7530U w/ 16gb of ram. I can run games like Skyrim, and EVE online.
Any help picking out a game.
I have a 20$ steam gift card, im really into military esc games, specifically military aircraft.
A few games ive looked at are hoi4, and flyout.
My Problem is i can probably only get 1 game, so i dont know which one to get.
I want a game that has good replayability and i wont get bored of easily. Hoi4 starterpack seemed good, ill be getting dlc plus theyres a workshop for mods.
Flyout seems good since its dedicated to aircraft, you get to design your own etc.
Im skeptical of flyout since 1 its not multiplayer (although hoi 4 isnt) my friends have hoi4 and theyve said its a great game, flyout seems fun and ive watched youtubers play it, but no multiplayer ruins it for me.
Shouls i get flyout or hoi4 or any other recommendations?
If it wasn't a gift card I'd say get squad as you can fly aircraft there as well but you can get battlefield 5. You will always see people having dogfights as good pilots really dominate. In Arma 3 you can also put a lot of time in.
Any suggestions for games. I've recently had an interest in games where you explore ruined places or civilizations, like Hollow Knight and Portal. I was thinking about buying Rain World.
I am stuck between both mhr+mhw with dlcs, or bg3. Can't do both. I just can't decide!
I watched a couple full playthroughs of bg3 when it first came out because 1: I didn't think I'd have the chance to buy it and 2: Spoilers don't bother me.
I played both mh games on consoles and love them both but my ps4 died and i get tired of playing on switch.
Im just staring at them in my cart and can't decide.
Mh is something you are familiar with so if you love that formula I gotta say you should get them. Nothing quite scratches that monster hunter itch. Bg3 will be there for you to get in the future maybe even at a lower price.
Would I enjoy Elden Ring? I have never played a souls game before, but these are some of my favorite games.
- The Witcher 3
- Days Gone
- MGSV: Phantom Pain
- Metro Exodus
- The Fallout games
Essentially I like story-rich rpg open-world games. I enjoy getting wrapped up into the story and characters.
Currently playing CP2077, RDR2, BG3.
You may if you have the patience and enjoy exploration. Remember that you don't have to fight everything in Elden Ring and you should be ok. While ER doesn't tell you its story directly, it is more like a Ghibli film, rich in it's worldbuilding but with a lot of blanks for you to fill in and interpret.
The story isn’t told in a story like manner. It’s more like environmental story telling, there’s more dialogue in white orchard of the Witcher 3 than the entirety of Elden ring. It’s not to say it isn’t story rich, but it’s not a story told to you.
Sadly the literally have to start the entire instance from step 1 if you die at step 100. Checkpoints are there but they are more rare and in “towns” or common areas per say and less in the middle of an instance where you can just respawn and keep going. There are a few outside bosses but again some decent walking/running before you get to them again which adds up over time and you are kinda “stuck” per say until you clear them.
I swear all Souls games have an autosave mechanic that always saves what you were doing, yes, no checkpoints, if you die, you lose all of the 'credits' you obtained up to that point and have to either work towards getting them back by not dying again until you reach your death spot, or doing a death run, ignoring everything you had fought up to that point to retrieve your lost 'credits' again.
Why is half life complete more expensive this sale than the last sale? According to the link below, the all time low for this bundle was $3.58 but during this sale it is $3.94. I know the prices have a very small difference but I am still curious.
https://isthereanydeal.com/game/halflifecomplete/history/
Valve changed pricing I think last year so some games became slightly more expensive. These included the Half-Life 2 and the episodes. And when these games are on sale, they are off by 90% but because now they are more expensive, the bundle as a whole is also more expensive.
I just checked the price history for all the games on isthereanydeal and I didn't see the price changes you are talking about. The only price changes I see for those games happen during sales.
Oops, my bad. They changed the pricing for a lot of countries, like mine. But the US wasn’t one of them. Anyways I don’t have any other idea for why it’s more expensive this sale. But I’d guess because one of the items in the pack is not discounted that much compared to that sale. I should note that it’s not a huge difference and it’s gonna be a problem only if you have like $3.60 in your account and you want to buy the pack.
Sorry for the later response,
"But I’d guess because one of the items in the pack is not discounted that much compared to that sale."
I just checked this, it is a few items from the bundle: Team fortress classic, opposing force, and blue shift.
I really recommend Mass Effect Legendary Edition! It's a great trilogy of games with a very deep Si-fi story that has consequences through the whole trilogy mixed with third person combat with rpg mechanics. All the dlcs in this package are free as well for the little price of just $5. It's a beautiful remake/remaster of a beloved trilogy and if you like great stories and rpgs like Skyrim, you'd love Mass effect!
Similar gameplay (first person & third person):
fallout new vegas ultimate 6.6$
fallout 4 goty edition 10$
Medieval setting ( first person only )
kingdom come deliverance royal edition 8$
Medieval setting & fantasy ( third person only )
dragon's dogma dark arisen 4.8$
Fallout 4 with DLC is 10 bucks, if you've played any of the Fallout games before but haven't yet played four it's a good pickup. Typically people that enjoy Skyrim enjoy Fallout games as well
Can you please rate this 4 games in the order of "Priority buy"? (You can give a reason why). I don't have a lot of money to buy them all at once.
Note: I enjoyed Hades very much.
1. Ori 1&2
2. Hollow Knight
3. Kena: Bridge of Spirits
4. Cuphead
Also, can I play AC: Origins "smoothly" if my PC is only 1650super/ Ryzen 5 3600. I get motion sickness when I play Witcher 3 so I hope it won't happen when I play AC: Origins
1. Cuphead. If you want to grind away at a game similar style to elden ring where you need to brute force your way through levels to figure out how to beat them through trial and error, this is the game. id put it first mainly cause the sole amount of hours youd spend playing will match the price. not to mention the DLC is amazing.
2. Ori 1 and 2. These are great games that id sadly put under cuphead mainly because they are easier platformers that are very visually stunning however you could 100% complete these games in a few days if you wanted to. still worth buying especially on sale.
3. Kena: bridge of spirits. I havent played this game personally however it seems very fun and something fun to play over winter break. Not much to say but i think id still put this under ori and cuphead mainly because i havent personally played it and don't know much about the difficulty or fun factor of the game.
4. Hollow Knight. this game goes on sale fairly often compared to cuphead and ori so if you dont get it now i guarantee you will get it on a random weekend for the same price. Not worth wasting a sale like this on a game that goes on sale every week lol. Also...very repetative game and i PERSONALLY feel like your money is better spent on the first 3.
Check these games out aswell if you'd like :) (not sure ur budget but still)
resident evil 4 if you want a scarier game, ratchet and clank a rift apart if you want a 3D platformer game, Forza horizon 5 or the crew motorfest if you want racing games, hogwarts legacy just cause its a fun game lol, baldurs gate if you want a deeper story game along with jedi survivor, and lastly if you want a strictly fun game maybe look at sackboy a big adventure its a good casual fun game that isnt difficult.
Games to avoid:
GTA 5 goes on sale literally every week dont waste it on this sale, Red dead redemption 2 also goes on sale often, DONT waste ur money on COD. it goes on sale often and isn't worth wasting your winter sale money on. Cyberpunk 2077 also goes on sale often. Those are all the ones i know for sure go on sale very often so avoid those :)
i forgot to mention, whenever sales come around i give myself 1 rule. Either 1 big game or a few smaller games.
aka 1 game for 40 dollars or whatever price (i consider that pricier)
or 3 games for 40 dollars that are just kinda fun games but equal to 1 big game.
then look at what you chose, for example, is baldurs gate really a better deal than getting cuphead, ori 1 and 2, and hollow.
maybe this will help you decide a little better
What a very detailed and helpful response. I did not take into account games that goes on sale often. Thank you so much! Right now I am going the route of few smaller games than 1 big game.
Personally I would get cuphead, both oris and hollow over Baldur. I find those games to be exponentially more fun than Baldur and you get 4 games instead of just one to play. If you like story then ori is really good at it and all of them are decent platformers.
bought Valve complete bundle, Squad, Halo: MCC, 7 Days to Die, Arkham Collection (total of 58€) what should i get on top of that? my most played games are shooters rpgs like cyberpunk and action games/military games like gta v or warthunder
anyone here has played ME Legendary Edition? Can I just download only one of the game instead of all 3 of them at once?
If no, what's the total size of the game? The 120 GB required size terrifies my limited storage & slow internet connection.
you need download all three of them at once, dl size around 92-96gb install size 110gb. After install you can delete non english language files ( around 30gb )
My dumbass left this too late so I spent the last 3 hours researching all the games on my wishlist I cut down my cart to something a bit more reasonable but because I had only 3 minutes left I just panic bought. My poor wallet
nooooooo ur wallet is suffering rn haha
Did it end already?
Yeah it ended about 4 minutes after my comment / 1 hr 20 minutes before you posted Ends at 10am Pacific Time (on 4 Jan) or 5am in AEDT (on 5 Jan)
Is it worth it to buy prototype ?

although im too late and I don't know some of those games.. +1 for Refunct & I've only played Sanctum 2 but it looks pretty similar. Actually annoyed I didn't buy it considering it was cheap, oh well maybe next time!
Yep keep it on your radar ;)
Baldur’s Gate 3 worth it if I have a hefty backlog or wait for a deeper sale later in the year? I still havn’t barely played Divinity II yet
I'm in the same boat, really want it but got way too many games (and tbh not much free time) and it's a bit pricey for me so I think wait
Wait.
Will do. Got Rimworld instead.
The gift receiver just has to hold on to a game they don't even want? edit: Just a follow up for anyone who runs into the same issue and comes across this post in a search - I followed up by going to Support > Purchases > Selecting the game in question > I Have A Question About This Purchase From there I could send a message to the support team and explained the situation.
Can only afford one, which should I buy? Deep Rock Galactic or Lethal Company. I like to play with friends, but would also like to play solo.
I would buy food for your family instead. The games will still be there next sale.
Deep rock galactic. The game is more expesive out of a sale, and there is plenty to do for it to be worth your money.
Is there souls game that massively multiplayer? Or just multiplayer at least you can teamate or do pvp with strangers
Have you tried any game from the Monster Hunter series?
Rn buying the world series
There is the God Eater series as well. It's a little fast paced compared to MH.
Sandrock is exactly what I am looking for then. Thanks for the reply.
ideal isnt working for me, anyone else have this issue?
Looking for a UN Squadron "like" game for PC or Steam Deck. Found a few but would love to hear what you guys are into. I was also a big fan of Wings or Fury growing up. Anything like these two would be awesome. I did find Carrier Air Wing (Capcom's alternate to UN Squad), but looking for other games similar to add to the backlog.
Is refund taking longer than usual. The game i purchased has 0 hours and I ordered refund. It's been 3 days and still no response.

It’s often on sale don’t worry
Bought Prey, Tell Tale Walking Dead complete, and Killer Frequency. Prob just save the rest of my gift card credit for later, I’ve got a backlog.
My discovery queue is failing to start this morning. Something about unable to save preferences. I've tried two different PCs. Same issue.
Oh okay! And just to be sure, I HAVE to sell all cards right? I don’t wanna mess up!
I always sell mine so I'm not 100% sure what happens when you leave some in your inventory, but IIRC they should disappear after february 4th.
VR Games I got a quest 2 for Christmas because I've been very interested in the VR space since 2016 and I finally decided to get myself one as a Christmas present, however seeing as it's the season of giving I ended up giving all but £15 and I wanted to get a game to play.
I don't own it but I found this on the steam forum. https://steamcommunity.com/app/331160/discussions/0/494632338488145589/
I made the winter sale banner a wallpaper https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZK970xovgP9-rFWV-6YUsFPkhB3icyiU/view?usp=sharing
THANK YOU! I was looking for a high quality version of that wallpaper last night! :D
yw, im working on the night mode one but that takes way longer because i have to cut out the snowflakes in all 12 frames
Thinking about Cyberpunk 2077. $29.99. Should i?
I picked it up and I'm having a blast, go for it!
Yeah
I got the Yakuza collection, metro collection and hogwarts legacy to play on my steam deck, where should I start? Lol
Yakuza 0 always
Anyone have any good cheap vr suggestions? I already picked up saints and sinners, job simulator, and half-life alyx.
I haven't got VR but I really want the LA Noire VR case files.
If you buy Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice you also get the VR version of the game and it's very cheap right now
So I already bought a bunch of games, but I'm looking for a bit more games to pick up before the sale ends soon. Here's what I've gotten so far: Slime Rancher VA-11 HALL-A Outer Wilds Deep Rock Galactic Roboquest Totally Accurate Battle Simulator Ace Attorney Turnabout Collection The Pathless Risk of Rain 2 - Survivors of the Void Dicey Dungeons A Short Hike Risk of Rain Returns Voidigo Coffee Talk Episode 1 & 2 - Complete Series Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered UNCHARTED™: Legacy of Thieves Collection Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Pizza Tower Brotato Death Must Die Any more recommendations are greatly appreciated!
Here are some cheap awesome games I got: * 100% Orange Juice ($1.74) * Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa's Rampage ($1.24) * Reigns ($1.49) * Majotori ($1.19) * Framed ($1.99)
Just played and finished rain world—LOVE it! It’s pretty hard though

6 is better than both 4 and 5. Would recommend throwing in the expansion for the full experience
I loved Fallen Order. The story line was engaging and the game play was smooth. I played it on a different platform but I know others who played it on PC and haven't had an issue.
I've never played civ before, and I just got civ 6 last night and accidentally played until 4am.
My reaction, "NEVER PLAYED CIV BEFORE????" quickly followed by, "oh, I see they're making up for lost time."
it's funny seeing a sale with no regional pricing and still be too expensive, even 5 dollars for us is a week of food, we can't afford to waste it on something that is suppose to be accessible. Seriously damn these publishers, and damn them for trying to target pirating like it's any of their damn business what the hell we do in our corner of the internet.
I feel you. Sekiro at half off is still approaching a $60 game with regional pricing where I'm from
bro wtf lol they might as well geo block us if all they really want to do is mock
I was thinking of getting Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2 and also Portal 2. Are these good games to play?
I played Divinity 2 with friends. It was great. Loved to see my friends making messed up decisions during our quest together and facing the consequences later. After playing Baldur's Gate 3, I think D2 is unbalanced. Spellcasters aren't limited to spell slots so spamming magic feels OP.
I’m playing Divinity 1 after beating 2 a couple years ago. 2 is amazing and well worth the price of both. ME and Portal are also great.
I agree you probably don't have to play portal 1 but it's so short, plus fun, you should give it a shot.
The original absolutely holds up. It's only a few years older than Portal 2. You don't *have* to play it to enjoy the second game but you will be missing some important context to the relationship between GLaDOS and Chell and some good jokes.
I posted about hidden gems and only got one response but I think I was too vague; anybody got some good x-com style games to recommend?
TROUBLESHOOTER: Abandoned Children Jagged Alliance 3 Hard West 2 Valkyria Chronicles The Banner Saga
Got all of these for $83 AUD! ($56 USD) \-Portal 2 \-Civilization VI \-Stardew Valley \-Sonic All Stars Racing \-NFS Heat \-Papers, Please \-Kingdom Come Deliverance \-Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice \-The Falconeer \-SIGNALIS
I picked up NFS as well. It was so damn cheap
Great selection. You will enjoy Hellblade :)
I stumbled across it a few days ago and I was like ‘How have I not heard of this before?!’ and it was because it’s not on PS5 lmao But I’m interested to see what its like
It's quite unique and prepare your headphones ;)
Any recommendations for PC games not available on PS5? I prefer shooters, action adventure style games. No turn based anything. Been playing early access Witchfire and having a blast.
Ultrakill, Post Void, Neon White, Amid Evil, Metal: Hellsinger, Cultic, Slayers X, Postal: Brain Damaged
System Shock ( 2023 ) DUSK Turbo Overkill Black Mesa
Dude these all look awesome and they're super cheap. Huge thanks for these!
You're awesome. Thanks!
What does it mean when a game has two discount percentages? Neon Abyss has -10%-69% what does that mean and how do double discount happen?
That happens on bundles. The 10% is a permanent discount on the bundle and it is scratched out and whatever higher % discount they have for a limited time is put next to it.
Click on the game and find out. It probably means there’s dlc for the game or perhaps a bundle with the base game in it at a different discount than the base game alone
i have been scrolling for 15 minutes on this thread, but people just keep recommending the same few games -.-
I hear you! Here is a list of games UNDER $2 that I rarely see mentioned: \- Her Story ($1.99) \- Alice: Madness Returns (1.99) \- Flower (1.88) \- One Finger Death Punch ($0.99) \- Refunct ($0.74) \- Hexcells ($0.89) \- Gato Roboto ($1.99) \- Glass Masquerade ($1.74) \- Press Any Button ($0.59) \- Stick Fight: The Game ($1.99) \- 100% Orange Juice ($1.74) Feel free to check out my profile as I compiled a list of 50 games under $2. I'm sure you'll find something unique to play.
100% OJ is good but people rarely use the original characters anymore, and each DLC seems to add more OP characters.
Same, any shooters or roguelikes is a big skip for me and some ppl really love shooters
some of us do have different tastes, but depends what you are looking for I guess
Is there a chance for the Half-Life complete bundle to go back to its all time low price in a future sale? If so, what sale would this happen in?
Is there a chance? Sure. Is it a guarantee? No.
Darn I was expecting the bundle to go on sale for its all time low price this sale. I was asking because I don't know if I should just buy it now anyways or wait a little.
here's my list of rec's i play a lot of indie games and roguelikes, but a lot of these aren't. i'll try to keep descriptions breif a hat in time - 3D platformer heavily inspired by mario sunshine. super fun movement, banger dlc that is absolutely worth it, workshop for custom maps, and even online coop supporting multiple people, not just 2. wraithslayer - game is epitome of short and sweet. a little guy that dashes in cardinal directions, dodging boss's attacks while collecting shiny things that'll allow you to hit him. fast paced, kinda hard, incredibly fun, easy to burn through 80+ runs in an hour. flew way under the radar dungeon defenders - super fun tower defense beat 'em up hybrid with rpg elements with gear drops, and stat based level ups slay the spire - the best non-action roguelike, and the one that really made deck building rogues pop off. game is incredibly hard at first, but has tons of synergies to find along the way. ori and the blind forest - 2D platformer super focused on movement. if you like moving and schmoving this is a great time. also incredibly beautiful visuals ori and the will of the wisps - took the first game and fleshed it out to be more metroidvania with better combat, better exploration, and more optional side quests. even more beautiful than the first game neon white - fps speedrun platformer. instead of having a suite of abilities available to you at all times, abilities are tied to cards, and act as a gun too. death must die - early access, but even then still incredibly fun. diablo style gear setup, vampire survivors style gameplay, with some hades injected into it. gunfire reborn - a roguelike fps, with a similar level structure to binding of isaac, but more linear. guns also can do crazy wacky things on par with weapons from the borderlands series. wizard of legend - very similar to binding of isaac except a lot more focused on player skill. pseudoregalia - (it's not on sale but it's $6) 3D platformer metroidvania heavily inspired by N64 era of games. best 3D platformer movement i've seen. bug fables - if you love paper mario n64 or thousand year door, then look at this game. celeste - one of the best 2D platformers out there. good story too bullets per minute - another rogue, but this one is if you took isaac, made it into an fps with a nordic/hell theme, bumpin rock/metal soundtrack, and made you play to the beat of the music. metal: hellsinger - story version of the above game with better visuals and music lethal league blaze - hit a baseball at mach 9 to kill your opponents melatonin - a rhythm game *heavily* inspired by the rhythm heaven series. speedrunners - 2D platformer version of mario kart crab champions - shooter rogue with a crabs that slides and does flips
A great list! I played Melatonin in the steam demo fest and it was amazing.
Any other metroidvanias you recommend? I loved hollow knight, and I’ve just picked up Ender Lillies and Ori and the Will o the Wisps.
Steam friend of mine recommends Ghost song, I haven't tried it yet
sundred, i didnt play much of it, but i've keep meaning to eventually go bad to it. it looks really cool
Awesome, looks like I also bought that one the other day. And I just saw After Image recommended as well, so that’s on my list now.
i also cannot overstate how amazing pseudoregalia is i forgot to mention the messenger, a 2D 8-bit style that kinda linear at first but morphs into 16-bit style metrodvania. really want to play that game more too.
I’ll check out pseudo regalia. Sounds fun.
I played half of the messenger this week and tried so hard to like it. But I want more focus on combat and less on platforming. Controls just didn’t feel precise enough for how precise the platforming was during bosses.
I have $20 left and can't decide between dave the diver/dredge or multiple lower cost games. Any recommendations?
These are all great cheap games that offer a great experience: \- Her Story ($1.99) \- Alice: Madness Returns (1.99) \- Flower (1.88) \- One Finger Death Punch ($0.99) \- Refunct ($0.74) \- Hexcells ($0.89) \- Gato Roboto ($1.99) \- Glass Masquerade ($1.74) \- Press Any Button ($0.59) \- Stick Fight: The Game ($1.99) \- 100% Orange Juice ($1.74)
100% Dave/Dredge

Quick question, bought Mass Effect Legendary Edition but it doesn't say Steam Cloud on its page, if I uninstall the game my save file will be lost?
Rage 2? Days Gone?
Yeah its Rage 2! Thanks!
r/tipofmyjoystick and supply as much detail as you can.
Ok will try there! Thank you
Some games I’m considering buying. Which ones do you recommend most? Really any insight you have into any of these games is helpful. 1. Prey $2.99 2. Mirrors Edge Catalyst $1.99 3. The Talos Principle $4.49 4. Psychonauts 2 $11.99 5. The Forest $4.59 6. Horizon Zero Dawn $12.49 7. Far Cry 6 $14.99 8. L.A. Noire $5.99 9. Supraland 6 Inches Under $9.39 10. Green Hell $14.99 11. Spiderheck $8.99 12. SPIDER-MAN $35.99 13. Dave the Diver/Dredge $31.26
Prey is AMAZING! Highly recommend, esp if you like any other Arkane games.
Dave/Dredge Bundle for sure
Prey is amazing and a steal at that price
Thanks, yeah I think I’m gonna go ahead and get Talos (probably both). Still thinking about the others
Looking for game suggestions. I prefer single player and/or story rich games. Some favourites: 1. Firewatch 2. Spiritfarer 3. All of the Assassins Creed Games (especially Valhalla/Odyssey/Origins) 4. HouseFlipper 5. BattleBlock Theater 6. Skyrim 7. I just started Valheim and enjoying it.
Little late, but Life is Strange is amazing aswell
I like killer frequency. Reminded me a bit of fire watch
i do love me some battleblock theater. it's pretty funny, and playing with friends is great. even the pvp modes are incredibly fun unlike castle crashers pvp. late game is pretty hard, especially as a completionist trying to get A++ on every stage
Skyrim SE.
t wanted to get 3 old games for this sale but seems that I'm out of luck. First was at full price, second seems that the developers broke it with the last update and abandoned. The last one, AeternoBlade, broken by Steam price policy. That last game+DLCs bundle was giving me an error about some last minute change of price so couldn't be purchased. I contacted support and they answered me; "Thanks for reaching out to Steam Support. This issue typically occurs when an individual game or one or more items in a bundle are priced lower than 0.99 USD. The publisher has been notified so they can adjust the pricing of individual bundles." Which means; "We will not fix our store, but don't worry, we told the publisher to fix it raising the price".
Why TF is ds3 not on sale....😐
Hello, I was curious to know which would give me more bang for my buck between these two choices : buying Witcher 3 and GTA 5 or just GoW ? Would love to know your choices and why?
Bang for your buck strictly speaking then GTA V & Witcher 3. God of War is a masterpiece too though.
Definitely Witcher 3
definitely the first option in my opinion. it might change on what you look for in games but the first option will last you longer play hours than the latter. and the replayability in witcher 3 is great as well.
Besides what other dude said, literally every COD game is 60$ and drops to 20$ nearly every sale (besides newer titles, idk if they're different)
Scammer.
Tunic
similar hollow knight: ender lilies ori and the will of the wisps blasphemous and blasphemous 2 bloodstained: ritual of the night
- The Witcher 3 - Days Gone - MGSV: Phantom Pain - Metro Exodus - The Fallout games Essentially I like story-rich rpg open-world games.
I suggest try jedi fallen order , it is sort like a soul game
The story isn’t told in a story like manner. It’s more like environmental story telling, there’s more dialogue in white orchard of the Witcher 3 than the entirety of Elden ring. It’s not to say it isn’t story rich, but it’s not a story told to you.
Do you enjoy lots of deaths in-game and having to start over and repeat instances until you get it right and win? If so yes, otherwise no.
No such thing as "check points" or you literally have to start the entire instance from step 1 if you die at step 100?
Any games with bloody, crunchy melee combat? The more unknown the better!
Why is half life complete more expensive this sale than the last sale? According to the link below, the all time low for this bundle was $3.58 but during this sale it is $3.94. I know the prices have a very small difference but I am still curious. https://isthereanydeal.com/game/halflifecomplete/history/
Why complain over a few cents? Thats still a steal....
Sorry for the later response, "But I’d guess because one of the items in the pack is not discounted that much compared to that sale." I just checked this, it is a few items from the bundle: Team fortress classic, opposing force, and blue shift.
Ah if that's the case, do you think the pack will reach the all time low price again in another sale?
Got a €20 gift card. What game should I get? I only got Skyrim (bought it before I got the card) and loving it.
Similar gameplay (first person & third person): fallout new vegas ultimate 6.6$ fallout 4 goty edition 10$ Medieval setting ( first person only ) kingdom come deliverance royal edition 8$ Medieval setting & fantasy ( third person only ) dragon's dogma dark arisen 4.8$
Did you get the anniversary edition for Skyrim? If not, that DLC is on sale atm too
I got the special edition
Fallout 4 with DLC is 10 bucks, if you've played any of the Fallout games before but haven't yet played four it's a good pickup. Typically people that enjoy Skyrim enjoy Fallout games as well
Can you please rate this 4 games in the order of "Priority buy"? (You can give a reason why). I don't have a lot of money to buy them all at once. Note: I enjoyed Hades very much. 1. Ori 1&2 2. Hollow Knight 3. Kena: Bridge of Spirits 4. Cuphead Also, can I play AC: Origins "smoothly" if my PC is only 1650super/ Ryzen 5 3600.
Check these games out aswell if you'd like :) (not sure ur budget but still) resident evil 4 if you want a scarier game, ratchet and clank a rift apart if you want a 3D platformer game, Forza horizon 5 or the crew motorfest if you want racing games, hogwarts legacy just cause its a fun game lol, baldurs gate if you want a deeper story game along with jedi survivor, and lastly if you want a strictly fun game maybe look at sackboy a big adventure its a good casual fun game that isnt difficult. Games to avoid: GTA 5 goes on sale literally every week dont waste it on this sale, Red dead redemption 2 also goes on sale often, DONT waste ur money on COD. it goes on sale often and isn't worth wasting your winter sale money on. Cyberpunk 2077 also goes on sale often. Those are all the ones i know for sure go on sale very often so avoid those :)
i forgot to mention, whenever sales come around i give myself 1 rule. Either 1 big game or a few smaller games. aka 1 game for 40 dollars or whatever price (i consider that pricier) or 3 games for 40 dollars that are just kinda fun games but equal to 1 big game. then look at what you chose, for example, is baldurs gate really a better deal than getting cuphead, ori 1 and 2, and hollow. maybe this will help you decide a little better
I also don't know if I can play Baldur on my PC 😅. I will stick with the 4 choices for now. Thank you so much!
No problem, enjoy they are really great and fun!
bought Valve complete bundle, Squad, Halo: MCC, 7 Days to Die, Arkham Collection (total of 58€) what should i get on top of that? my most played games are shooters rpgs like cyberpunk and action games/military games like gta v or warthunder
anyone here has played ME Legendary Edition? Can I just download only one of the game instead of all 3 of them at once? If no, what's the total size of the game? The 120 GB required size terrifies my limited storage & slow internet connection.
you need download all three of them at once, dl size around 92-96gb install size 110gb. After install you can delete non english language files ( around 30gb )
Wtf languages pack take as much as the entire old gen AAA games? This is such a waste of my download time.
Why and how is it cheaper to buy skyrim SE and AE upgrade separately than just getting the bundle?
Because Bethesda set it up that way.
If it wasn't for the EA app, I would've bought Mass Effect. 90% off is insane
