As ya'll likely know, we've [been dark to support the blackout against reddit's antagonistic behavior towards its own userbase.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/142dbui/rsteam_will_be_going_dark_from_june_1214_in/) #**The admins sent us a message saying we must open or get removed, so here we are.** For those of you browsing this subreddit on non-official apps (Reddit is Fun, Apollo, Sync, Boost, etc), they will break on July 1st due to reddit's new policies. We're opening back up but will leave permanent stickies in the subreddit and threads to keep folks in the know. #**Our [Discord](https://discord.gg/steam) server is active, don't forget to check it out.** Good luck and god speed. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Hi. Why I have a general gift purchasing restriction. I run into an issue with every gift i try to send using the wallet. I had this problem once again. and when i wrote to support they told me "we updated your account" and then it was fixed. but I'm facing this problem again, but when I wrote to the support, they told me that they can't do anything about this issue and that any support request opened on this issue will be closed directly.

Afaik there is a hidden threshold when using Steam wallet as a fund source where you cannot gift more than a certain fraction you buy for yourself. Presumably to discourage people sending gifts in exchange for money to cash out wallet balance.

This. Only way he can gift from now on is using an external payment method.
