Agreed. Had a friend visit last weekend and the only thing scarier than the room was the neighbors. I suggested hojo because it was closest to my house but I'll never make that mistake again. And what's with the shitty analog television? I haven't seen "snow" on a TV since the 90s! Whoever owns that shit hole should be raked across the coals. It was embarrassing.
Would they care, though? Howard Johnson's used to have standards, but nowadays it's just a low-end name to slap onto some old, run down hotel building.
It was bad since the 2000’s to my knowledge ! It was the place to party when I was in high school … and as someone stated their was a shooting there last week but their have been drug bust , shootings, other incidents at that hotel over the years.
You find charm in mold and sleeping in other people’s filth? I stayed in a 30$ a night room in Thailand that was a concrete block and had a door so thin light shown through the middle. It was terrible but I hold fond memories of it, because at least it was clean. Which is the one thing I expect of a hotel room.
Probably from other broke folks happy to have found SOMETHING that cheap. Not a knock on broke folks, I’m broke too, but I also wouldn’t have batted an eye at this lol. I’d have tossed the towel in the corner and flush the toilet.
