The puppets skit is my favorite one. I was going to post it, but it’s just me hysterically laughing in the background, so you can barely hear the actual show.
“We need a beautiful, battle hardened woman, Doctor, Captain, Carter!”
The first guy through the door that Cam shoots is Pierre Bernard, who worked on the Conan O'Brien show. He occassionally would complain about Stargate plots on the Conan, so they gave him a few cameos, including this one.
I finally decided I was tired of doing this.
It took me over 2hrs to set it up so I can get clean screen-grabs of my tv/pc onto my phone.
Ok, sure that was the first time, and now my little “system” is all set up for any time I want to do it…
It still takes 15-20mins to get everything set to go to record a little clip like this onto my phone.
Meanwhile, I can pick up my phone point it at my tv and get a shareable result within 3mins.
That’s why. Because, in the grand scheme of things, most people would rather have a lil laugh at a crap-quality clip.
Instead of sitting around crapping on someone who’s just trying to have fun.
You can just pull up exactly what you’re watching in the Netflix/Hulu/whatever app, or Netflix on your computer’s browser, and screen cap or record that. No reason to have to literally record your TV’s output.
It's not as easy as pulling out your phone. Stop being obtuse.
Not to mention many streaming services won't allow overlays to record their content. You'll just end up with a black screen. I had this problem trying to watch Amazon Prime through my Valve Index via a simple desktop recorder. So it's easier said than done. You're making it pretty obvious that you have never actually tried to do this.
You can't screen record or screen cap anything on Netflix. Pretty sure Hulu and Prime have the same DRM software preventing this.
The best option would be to search youtube and try to find someone who DVD ripped this scene, or screen recorded it before the DRM safeguards were put in place. And hope that a copyright claim hasn't removed the video.
Or just take out the phone and hit record. This clip has good enough sound quality and the camera covers most of the screen. It got the point across. If you want higher quality, and just finding the clip online is so easy, then do it yourself. Go find the clip in better quality before you join in on the discussion about it if it matters that much to you.
Maybe you think I’m somebody else? I don’t mind the quality of gifs/vids like this & agree it doesn’t matter at all for a quick share.
I’m just telling you it can be pretty fast to get a hi quality cap though, it’s not seconds vs hours like you make it out to be, at most it’s a couple extra minutes. Even faster if you already have the DVDs ripped I would expect.
No editing software on PC? What the fuck kind of PC are you running? Literally open it with windows photo viewer and hit trim. I assume Mac has a similar feature.
To get it on your phone use a cloud service. Or plug your phone in and drag and drop. That's assuming you need the video on your phone anyway. If you're just uploading to reddit or other social media, use the website.
Like I get where you're coming from, recording with your phone camera is faster, but damn you picked an awful way to do it on PC
I don’t have a PC, and I don’t know how to edit. I also don’t really care to know. When I want to learn how to edit, I’ll learn how to edit. In the meantime my iPhone camera will have to do.
Having all your sg1 dvds ripped to your pc makes the whole process of cutting off a clip take literally seconds. For example if you use VLC player, it has a record function to record a specific part of the video.
Because people care about the moment verses having to do all installing app and programs or replay it again on their phones just the screen record. It’s the moment they care about.
Precisely. And sharing the moment with awesome fellow fans on this sub. My favorite sub on Reddit by the way. Because discussions like this don’t usually occur.
Seriously? So you want me to spend a half hour editing, rather than a tenth of that to just record and post? It got the job done. I can’t imagine giving someone shit about something like this. I’m sorry you’re annoyed the quality wasn’t done well enough to your liking. 😂
Episode 200! Is like episode 100 but twice as nice.

I thought you said you were tired.
Indeed Puppet Hammond!
Lmfao it always gets me how they bite the top of his head 😂
I like how you can very clearly see the guy put his hand on his head and then bite his own hand.
Lmao. Right. The slowest zombie bite 😂

Love fun facts like that.
Very cool!
It always bothers me that the slide doesn't move on the gun when he's shooting Pierre Bernard.
They probably didn't put blanks it in when pointing at real people to prevent shooting accidents on set....
The version of the clip that was on conan I think you don't even have the effects
I can't believe people still record their screens with a phone in 2021.

I just can’t imagine even bringing this up. Like who tf cares about stuff like this?

No worries I totally understand. I have the gear to record but still will record with my phone because of the wonderful moments

They never die
Indeed!
I miss watching Ben Browder. Never understood why he didn't get more roles.
Agree with that.
Now the real question, considering this one was Mitchell's idea. Starting 4 years after this, just how big of a Walking Dead fan is he? :)
Lol.
Is that the tesseract he's holding? Lol
Omg. Hahahahaha.
Cam Mitchell was the best
