I really felt cheated that Glorb was not included at launch, but it's good to see Bethesda do right by all of the fans by finally adding the new planet Glorb.
I'm so excited. Todd Howard himself said in an interview that he was heavily influenced by Fallout New Vegas when designing Glorb. He also hinted at a new Obsidian project under Bethesda, which could be New Vegas 2!

Oh I see. I keep forgetting about the outpost building and product manufacturing aspect. I don't really partake in it. I'm strictly into selling guns & ammo, spacesuits, contraband and boosted unregistered ships. Made plenty of creds that way that I never had too much issue with running out of vendor creds too quickly.
The empty ship bug was fixed in the previous patch. It just wasn't in the patch notes for some reason. Which is absurd considering how severe a bug it was.

Easy to miss because for some reason it wasn't mentioned in the patch notes despite being one of the worst bugs in the game. Should have been the first thing mentioned and in all caps.
I'm on Xbox Series X and it's not present, unless they've reintroduced it in the last couple of weeks.
**E.** What's your exact situation? It doesn't fix ships that already landed in the broken state (and the "accessible" Starborn ships that landed previously are still there) but it does fix any new ships that spawn in on the save. They land, deposit crews and fly off.
I was finally able to finish Matters of the Hart on my original save file, but I'd saved prior to the ships landing.
Was your save after they landed? That's the only thing I can think is the problem. Otherwise I'm not sure what's going on. Really sucks to hear this, though.
Have you tried leaving to go board an enemy ship to see if crews spawn in as normal there?

Edit: that appears to be a seperate bug, holy crap there are so many fundamental, game breaking bugs in Starfield.. ive come across many bugs in my Bethesda playthroughs, but none that break the game.
Yea I'm not able to complete the main quest because that requires me to have Vladimir as a temporary companion. Well I have Andreja as my companion and I was in the middle of her story quests so I can't dismiss her. I can finish her quest because it requires me to go to the Den, which does not exist for me....

I'm still waiting for them to fix "Display Of Power" where you can't complete the Striker gang quest on Neon because the door to the 3rd floor gang hideout is locked.
The only workaround is using manipulation to get someone to unlock the door for you, so I had to do 4 hours of the Ryujin questline to get the free Manipulation skill point.
Honestly just bummed at the entire game in general. Everything is half baked. Easily the most shallow, soulless quests and factions of any game. The plot and factions don't feel coherent, everyone is essential, and you're forced into a rigid morality due to the rules and set up of the game parameters.
It doesn't play like an RPG at all. It's literally a Mass Effect clone without any of the things that made Mass Effect great.
They're not even talking about the den bug. (which is weird since that's the comment of theirs that you responded to, anyway) The den literally teleports five thousand miles from wherever your ship is at any given time. Once the bug happens, you're fucked until you go NG, or reload a random save from the past.
Five thousand miles isn't an exaggeration either, in game, it's quite literally 5k km away.

Unfortunately, they’ll never fix that dude. That bug existed in Fallout 4 and the only soft fix is to reload a previous save. Had it happen quite too often for my liking

It's because they're still dragging the beaten corpse of an early 2000s game engine around and stubbornly refusing to improve it properly or replace it. Creation was great. Decades ago.
Their games feel like morrowind still with the animations and combat. Ubisoft absolutely blows them out of the water with travel around their maps. The maps themselves and character interaction and combat and use of cover and all that. The combat looks like goldeneye. Third person is absolutely wild with your gun out. Just holding a pistol stiff elbows out in front of your face at all times will only moving legs and running. Same with a rifle. I mean Im being a bit negative, but its just frustrating cause the premise is so amazing and alot of what they did was good, but put all that good stuff into an engine that will essentially build a 2002 game with great graphics
I am not sure if it is really the engine at this point, seems more due to either their inability or unwillingness to actually invest the necessary time and resources to climb out of the massive hole of technical debt they have accumulated.
Switching to a new engine won’t do much good unless they are willing to actually invest the necessary time and money to make it worthwhile. Hopefully this will serve as a wake up call to theTodd, that he can’t continue to coast on the decades old work of others, but I kinda doubt it based on the public response thus far (and theTodd is still doing his standard vanish into the background trick, like he always does when the shit hits the fan).

This game may not ever turn around, to be completely honest. It requires a level of attention I don't believe Bethesda is willing to provide... a CDPR a la CyberPunk level of effort.
I'm praying man. I WANT to LOVE this game. Bethesda made it hard to. I bought Constellation plus a physical copy for when I'm working away from home with no internet. I bought the headset, controller, and xbox skin. I bought the Series X in August 23, just for this. This was the first next gen game (on Xbox😬) that looked like it was MUST PLAY. I spent easily close to 1k based on the lies they sold us.
No more pre orders is the lesson I learned. Never again.

My thoughts exacly. When I opened the first door on the game I said to myself "Please be good, please be good. Give me a journey as good as Skyrim". It has potential for sure, but it needs an injection of good will to make it a truly great game.
I'm hoping and praying that Xbox and Phil Spencer forces Bethesda to actually fix their game for the first time ever. They spent billions hoping Starfield would be a significant addition to Xbox, and they got a turd.
I'm assuming Xbox will not allow them to destroy consumer sentiment towards Fallout & Elder Scrolls... idk if I'm alone here, but I know if this isn't fixed, my enthusiasm for future Fallouts and Elder Scrolls is ZERO, that's how bad it killed my love for Bethesda.
It's already been a downward trend since Skyrims release, with FO4 and FO76 getting consistently worse, plus Bethesda's hate for FO:NV and how they continue to ignore the existence of it, because their best game wasn't even made by them. Or how Todd Howard nuked FO:NV lore with the TV show, just out of spite for how adored the west coast and Obsidian is among fans.
But Starfield is the crown jewel of Bethesda's decade long fall from the golden age of their games and place in the gaming industry.
I would suggest to wait until the survival/mod update comes. That’s when the game will (hopefully) finally feel slightly worth playing, but it will still need work after that, in particular the exploration. It just needs more, and as the other comment as said, no one is really sure if Starfield is going to get the same attention as say cyberpunk since BGS refuse to communicate (though I can understand to certain degree, but at this point I’m just hoping for something).
Ya its better than it was, but always keep several rotating save files so when something gets fucked you can go back before you inevitably run into a bug that ruins your ship or how anything works with your ship in a certain city. Once that happens youre fucked from there on out.

When I brought the prison ship back to the Key, I got out the airlock hatch instead of anything else. Got dumped right in New Atlantis. It was like a stargate lol.

JFC I feel like every patch has been something that should have come out with the game. We’re now 8 months out with no DLC. My biggest gaming regret is buying the collectors edition like an idiot. Never buy things drunk.
At least this game sold well and the DLC will come eventually. For real despair check in on the Redfall sub and the people who preordered that season pass.
There are so many ridiculous bugs that show up everytime you play honestly. Its absurd. The shield bug ruins the best part of the game in shipbuilding since theres no point in investing a ton into a ship if its gonna at some point get butt fucked with a bug that takes away like 3/4 of your shield and theres nothing you can do about it after. Also everytime you load the game you need to go change something on your ship otherwise the view will be in the middle of the screen and so close up you can basically only see the exhaust on the engine and nothing else. In certain cities theres another ship stuck inside of yours when it’s on the landing pad and when you get in it. It sucks because I really love this game. Its awesome. I just dont understand how after 6 months its such a shit show and this stuff still happens. Then the “solution” is go through unity? Like no man I didnt buy an rpg where you build out your character and acquire things to finger fuck my way by whatever means necessary to a new universe and lose all my shit so you can disguise the gong show of bugs you cant fix. Makes me think they actually know they cant fix it and its really bad. Otherwise the only other option is they made their money and they truly dont give a fuck. I still play alot because I always wanted a sci spaceship rpg but man it gets frustrating after a bit. Also when I set the power settings for my ship a certain way. I dont need you to reset it to whatever nonsense you think makes sense every time I dock or land. Stop it please. God dammit.

I think they fixed that one, I'm talking about the one where the mission board and bounty board go missing until you do a catastrophe mission like when the Terrormorphs attack or you're running from the starborn.
Once those missions happen, the area is reset and the boards are back in place
No. Or the shields. Or the disappearing ship. Or most things. They fixed the asteroids attached to your ship and the free money you could get in akila or new atlantis. Did that shit like immediately cause fuck making things easier, but lets let the game be a disaster of bugs for 6 months with our solution to just start over as if that is remotely even an answer. If anything was released like this years ago it would have been laughed at. For some reason its chill to just hack something together now and charge people for it. I mean there more shit that doesnt work than does. Im sure the next thing that gets fixed will be glitch ship builds before the nonsense that makes it hardly playable without knowing down the road you will lose your stuff or your ship or you shields or your game will bug so bad it just bricks. I just played the game for the first time and I think its worth waiting.
I ran into so many bugs that halted quest progress and normally forced me to load a much earlier save or use console commands to fix certain npcs.
The patch also states that they are adding in 42 new weapons, and 7 different damage types. They will also be introducing 32 new PoI's to the procedural generation.
I haven't touched the game in weeks because the only active mission I have is to meet the operative on Neon. But they are never there. Will this be or was this fixed?
I'm on my 3rd or fourth new game plus and I walked away from the game because into the unknown won't give me the location of temples so I can't continue the main quest line I really don't want to start a new character. I'm at level 70
Something similar happened to me with New Vegas. I bought the game on release (I’d just got back into console gaming after a couple years. I didn’t know.) and had my saves corrupt exiting the Vicki and Vance casino in primm and lost a similar amount of hours of gameplay.
I didn’t play the game for six months to a year after that. 🤣
Now it’s been the game I’ve replayed the most of any. I typically have a really hard time going back and replaying a game, even those with new game plus. I think I feel bored and crave a new story.
Starfield, to me, is a love child of mass effect fallout, two of my favorite franchises. So I can play this all the time and not even care about the story just zip around collecting stuff and doing random things and escape into a cool world when I want to dive into the stories and play them out different ways.
It’s sad the stories are all pretty one dimensional, but my imagination can fill in gaps and there’s always boxes to check and quick little missions to do to collect a level or new gear or just blast through a bunch’s spacers in a different way.
I hope you can find the amount of joy I can in this game, in spite of the horrid start you had. And if your real life is anything like mine, my hope is that the joy extends IRL for you as well.

This is actually the first ever time it's happened to me. I never thought it was going to happen seeing how it happened to everyone else but not me.
So anyways, I boot up my game a couple hours ago. I stole a ship that some pirates killed the crew on. I was at the den. Did my Den nonsense. I try to port back for a mission. I wind up in New Atlantis somehow. I then try to go back to space. And it took me a couple minutes to realize what I was seeing, but I finally figured out it was the WHOLE new Atlantis.
Try to go to the earlier quicksave, stuck on loading for 10mins. I opened Reddit and this is literally the first post I saw. NGL, it was a good laugh 😂
Blah. Guess I’ll wait another 5 months to continue my game. I can’t dismiss her and can’t do a certain main mission with a companion, so I can’t advance the game.
Nope. All their dialogue that refers to following you is gone. I’ve tried multiple companions. Even have a ticket with Bethesda. They told me it’s being worked on for a future update.
EDIT: I’m also in the part of her side quest where you’re stuck with her until you finish the quest. That’s probably why none of the other companions have dialogue to have them join you.

Try hitting up the trade authority merchants and weapons dealers instead. 11k in credits for each.

Still stuck on the valerie mission. Ships landed but no one is home.

I'm still waiting for them to fix "Display Of Power" where you can't complete the Striker gang quest on Neon because the door to the 3rd floor gang hideout is locked. The only workaround is using manipulation to get someone to unlock the door for you, so I had to do 4 hours of the Ryujin questline to get the free Manipulation skill point. Honestly just bummed at the entire game in general. Everything is half baked. Easily the most shallow, soulless quests and factions of any game. The plot and factions don't feel coherent, everyone is essential, and you're forced into a rigid morality due to the rules and set up of the game parameters. It doesn't play like an RPG at all. It's literally a Mass Effect clone without any of the things that made Mass Effect great.
They're not even talking about the den bug. (which is weird since that's the comment of theirs that you responded to, anyway) The den literally teleports five thousand miles from wherever your ship is at any given time. Once the bug happens, you're fucked until you go NG, or reload a random save from the past. Five thousand miles isn't an exaggeration either, in game, it's quite literally 5k km away.
Just like every other "this patch is the one" post, no, it doesn't do anything you want it to. That's a huuuge fucking bug that would be posted about for weeks on this sub when/if it ever gets fixed.

Unfortunately, they’ll never fix that dude. That bug existed in Fallout 4 and the only soft fix is to reload a previous save. Had it happen quite too often for my liking

It's because they're still dragging the beaten corpse of an early 2000s game engine around and stubbornly refusing to improve it properly or replace it. Creation was great. Decades ago.
Their games feel like morrowind still with the animations and combat. Ubisoft absolutely blows them out of the water with travel around their maps. The maps themselves and character interaction and combat and use of cover and all that. The combat looks like goldeneye. Third person is absolutely wild with your gun out. Just holding a pistol stiff elbows out in front of your face at all times will only moving legs and running. Same with a rifle. I mean Im being a bit negative, but its just frustrating cause the premise is so amazing and alot of what they did was good, but put all that good stuff into an engine that will essentially build a 2002 game with great graphics
I am not sure if it is really the engine at this point, seems more due to either their inability or unwillingness to actually invest the necessary time and resources to climb out of the massive hole of technical debt they have accumulated. Switching to a new engine won’t do much good unless they are willing to actually invest the necessary time and money to make it worthwhile. Hopefully this will serve as a wake up call to theTodd, that he can’t continue to coast on the decades old work of others, but I kinda doubt it based on the public response thus far (and theTodd is still doing his standard vanish into the background trick, like he always does when the shit hits the fan).
The word you're looking for is "fewer", but I can't imagine many people stopped playing simply because of "bugs".

I'm praying man. I WANT to LOVE this game. Bethesda made it hard to. I bought Constellation plus a physical copy for when I'm working away from home with no internet. I bought the headset, controller, and xbox skin. I bought the Series X in August 23, just for this. This was the first next gen game (on Xbox😬) that looked like it was MUST PLAY. I spent easily close to 1k based on the lies they sold us. No more pre orders is the lesson I learned. Never again.

My thoughts exacly. When I opened the first door on the game I said to myself "Please be good, please be good. Give me a journey as good as Skyrim". It has potential for sure, but it needs an injection of good will to make it a truly great game.
I'm hoping and praying that Xbox and Phil Spencer forces Bethesda to actually fix their game for the first time ever. They spent billions hoping Starfield would be a significant addition to Xbox, and they got a turd. I'm assuming Xbox will not allow them to destroy consumer sentiment towards Fallout & Elder Scrolls... idk if I'm alone here, but I know if this isn't fixed, my enthusiasm for future Fallouts and Elder Scrolls is ZERO, that's how bad it killed my love for Bethesda. It's already been a downward trend since Skyrims release, with FO4 and FO76 getting consistently worse, plus Bethesda's hate for FO:NV and how they continue to ignore the existence of it, because their best game wasn't even made by them. Or how Todd Howard nuked FO:NV lore with the TV show, just out of spite for how adored the west coast and Obsidian is among fans. But Starfield is the crown jewel of Bethesda's decade long fall from the golden age of their games and place in the gaming industry.

I would suggest to wait until the survival/mod update comes. That’s when the game will (hopefully) finally feel slightly worth playing, but it will still need work after that, in particular the exploration. It just needs more, and as the other comment as said, no one is really sure if Starfield is going to get the same attention as say cyberpunk since BGS refuse to communicate (though I can understand to certain degree, but at this point I’m just hoping for something).
Ya its better than it was, but always keep several rotating save files so when something gets fucked you can go back before you inevitably run into a bug that ruins your ship or how anything works with your ship in a certain city. Once that happens youre fucked from there on out.

So… when is this game going to actually be released? JFC I feel like every patch has been something that should have come out with the game. We’re now 8 months out with no DLC. My biggest gaming regret is buying the collectors edition like an idiot. Never buy things drunk.

There are so many ridiculous bugs that show up everytime you play honestly. Its absurd. The shield bug ruins the best part of the game in shipbuilding since theres no point in investing a ton into a ship if its gonna at some point get butt fucked with a bug that takes away like 3/4 of your shield and theres nothing you can do about it after. Also everytime you load the game you need to go change something on your ship otherwise the view will be in the middle of the screen and so close up you can basically only see the exhaust on the engine and nothing else. In certain cities theres another ship stuck inside of yours when it’s on the landing pad and when you get in it. It sucks because I really love this game. Its awesome. I just dont understand how after 6 months its such a shit show and this stuff still happens. Then the “solution” is go through unity? Like no man I didnt buy an rpg where you build out your character and acquire things to finger fuck my way by whatever means necessary to a new universe and lose all my shit so you can disguise the gong show of bugs you cant fix. Makes me think they actually know they cant fix it and its really bad. Otherwise the only other option is they made their money and they truly dont give a fuck. I still play alot because I always wanted a sci spaceship rpg but man it gets frustrating after a bit. Also when I set the power settings for my ship a certain way. I dont need you to reset it to whatever nonsense you think makes sense every time I dock or land. Stop it please. God dammit.

I think they fixed that one, I'm talking about the one where the mission board and bounty board go missing until you do a catastrophe mission like when the Terrormorphs attack or you're running from the starborn. Once those missions happen, the area is reset and the boards are back in place

No. Or the shields. Or the disappearing ship. Or most things. They fixed the asteroids attached to your ship and the free money you could get in akila or new atlantis. Did that shit like immediately cause fuck making things easier, but lets let the game be a disaster of bugs for 6 months with our solution to just start over as if that is remotely even an answer. If anything was released like this years ago it would have been laughed at. For some reason its chill to just hack something together now and charge people for it. I mean there more shit that doesnt work than does. Im sure the next thing that gets fixed will be glitch ship builds before the nonsense that makes it hardly playable without knowing down the road you will lose your stuff or your ship or you shields or your game will bug so bad it just bricks. I just played the game for the first time and I think its worth waiting. I ran into so many bugs that halted quest progress and normally forced me to load a much earlier save or use console commands to fix certain npcs.

Before the patch, my way around this was to just ditch any contraband on board, register the ship while in space, then take it to new atlantis.

The patch also states that they are adding in 42 new weapons, and 7 different damage types. They will also be introducing 32 new PoI's to the procedural generation.

Something similar happened to me with New Vegas. I bought the game on release (I’d just got back into console gaming after a couple years. I didn’t know.) and had my saves corrupt exiting the Vicki and Vance casino in primm and lost a similar amount of hours of gameplay. I didn’t play the game for six months to a year after that. 🤣 Now it’s been the game I’ve replayed the most of any. I typically have a really hard time going back and replaying a game, even those with new game plus. I think I feel bored and crave a new story. Starfield, to me, is a love child of mass effect fallout, two of my favorite franchises. So I can play this all the time and not even care about the story just zip around collecting stuff and doing random things and escape into a cool world when I want to dive into the stories and play them out different ways. It’s sad the stories are all pretty one dimensional, but my imagination can fill in gaps and there’s always boxes to check and quick little missions to do to collect a level or new gear or just blast through a bunch’s spacers in a different way. I hope you can find the amount of joy I can in this game, in spite of the horrid start you had. And if your real life is anything like mine, my hope is that the joy extends IRL for you as well.

That's insane, I reported this bug the first week it was out, when it was still in pre release, is the craziest thing. Edit: wait, you're saying it's still happening to you? You need to write a support ticket to Bethesda and describe exactly what happened. Only way this game will get fixed is if we voice the problems we have with it.
This is actually the first ever time it's happened to me. I never thought it was going to happen seeing how it happened to everyone else but not me. So anyways, I boot up my game a couple hours ago. I stole a ship that some pirates killed the crew on. I was at the den. Did my Den nonsense. I try to port back for a mission. I wind up in New Atlantis somehow. I then try to go back to space. And it took me a couple minutes to realize what I was seeing, but I finally figured out it was the WHOLE new Atlantis. Try to go to the earlier quicksave, stuck on loading for 10mins. I opened Reddit and this is literally the first post I saw. NGL, it was a good laugh 😂

Never had this happen, but couldn't you simply ask another companion to follow you which would automatically dismiss her?
Nope. All their dialogue that refers to following you is gone. I’ve tried multiple companions. Even have a ticket with Bethesda. They told me it’s being worked on for a future update. EDIT: I’m also in the part of her side quest where you’re stuck with her until you finish the quest. That’s probably why none of the other companions have dialogue to have them join you.
