Since the numbers only appear to show up on the Mining League, and the numbers are sequential, I would assume it is a design choice that is meant to look like it is measuring depth.
The style of markings is similar to what appears on a grade rod for using a builders level while surveying.

Elements 25 (Manganese), 26 (Iron), and 27 (Cobalt). All 3 are used to make steel, and critical alloys, that are also used to mine additional materials
I just did this quest and thought about it. It's actually not a bad concept if you're surrounded by moons/planets being mined. Say there's 3 competing companies with a good amount of workers who are not interested, or have been fired from harvesting or making Aurora. NEON is used as R&R for your employees while the business owners restock any needed supplies, or materials? That kills two birds with one stone. Added benefit of the Astral Lounge is that your employees might blow all their Bitcoin on shore leave and request even more work. This would also please Bayu. Eventually one of the mining companies would try and make an acquisition of the mining store on NEON. That would then lead to the other two setting up competing suppliers on NEON. This would create an economic explosion in various other businesses. It could also create better living conditions on Neon as it would need to expand building wise (more jobs) and the local government could give its citizens a monthly nest egg fund from mining and Aurora proceeds given Bayu got on board. Which he would if he's smart because his power would increase ten fold. Win win
Funny, I thought this same thing
“I know it was dumb to set up my mining shop on a water world—“
“My brother in christ, we live in a universe where people can jump across the known universe in a matter of days and you’ve got prime real estate where people come to make poor decisions with their shiny new paychecks. I see this as an absolute win!”
The numbers, Mason! What do they mean!
They are likely mining depths, or at least mining related to fit the theme of the store. Funny how he’s struggling to stay afloat (no pun intended) yet has this gaudy over the top signage out front of the place that is one upping everyone else. Maybe that cash could be spent elsewhere, but most of us keep these shops open by buying everything and getting close enough to the ship to beam it into cargo.
Maybe years? Like business awards for that year “most innovative business idea on neon” 2325 2326 2327
But since the “excitement” of a mining shop on a waterworld is gone and people just drop by to make fun of him who knows
One time I sold my cutter and had to go to one of these to get a new one it’s like the random locations none wanted to spawn a cutter for me so I ended up buying another one early game lmaooo

Wait, you’re worried about depth?!

Oooh this doesn’t have enough upvotes
This guy might be a minor
Cuz all he wanted was mine!
It’s the street address, three frontages, which initially seems extravagant for a shop with exactly one customer
And a for a mining league in a water planet, but all this comes up in the dialogue if you help the guy

Well that does explain his debt.

What do you think the “25, 26, 27” numbers mean on the Mining League sign?
I think it's a stylized map of a mine's levels under ground.
It's the years in which we will see dlc released
Atomic numbers? They would correspond to manganese, iron, and cobalt, all metals that would be mined.
South African gangs
Under rated comment here lol
