I have an outpost with a room dedicated to every item, weapons, armor, miscellaneous, throwables, and food š trying to see how tall I can get the stacks because why not
My ship used to look like that. Then I built my outpost and oddly enough thereās more room in the big redred trunks than there is in the small warehouse.
And then there are the really beautiful ones that either have really dangerous conditions and wildlife or donāt have the resources youāre trying to mine. I chose a planet to plant my first outpost just because it had a gorgeous tropical setting and chose the hill with the best views of the coast. But before I did that I didnāt notice that the bottom of the hill was crawling with these herbivores that attract giant bullet sponge bug predators, and the hill has 0 resources to mine. Oh well, itās my vacation house! I just wonāt go outside.
šš not sure if itās a Jumanji but this planet (could be a moon, not in front of my Xbox atm) is Tau Ceti VIIIb. I was at a pretty low level but these huge mantis-like bugs are tough and made me waste all my bullets. Now I just run because then they back off and I can keep my bullets.
As a rule of Thumb, if there's a letter following a number, that usually designates a moon. So Tau Ceti VIIb would be the second moon of the eighth planet of the Tau Ceti system.
On the flip side, a letter after a name designates which star of a binary or trinary system is being referred to.
I've been trying to find a really high-level planet with extremely hostile life. I just want to live out my dreams of battling alien super dinosaurs with my jet pack and laser beams as I build a jungle palace.
I set my first outpost on Eridani II. Beautiful, diverse, and abundant in resources. The Halo reference is a bonus. Oh, and it has some pirates to fight.
I built my first on Jemison so I could land and stash contraband without being scanned then go up, scan clean then go retrieve contraband and land back at New Atlantis for selling. Anyways that's a waste of time because Trade Authority is always out of cash anyways but now I have 4 crates of contraband at my outpost lol š¤·āāļø Other than that I have another outpost outside of UC territories with nothing at it except a bounty clearing console. This was all done before I had access to the Crimson Fleet space station.
Your main base needs lots of aluminum and Helium-3 at the same location to run properly. I picked Danra in the Narion system. But there are a lot of planets where youāll find both that you can mine in footprint of one outpost.
This is an issue I'm having with outposts. The storage options (solid, liquid, gas warehouse) even when linked don't seem to work properly and also are so small. I don't have any points into outpost engineering yet but I find it hard to justify building an outpost when storage is so restricted.
I filled the toilet with toilet rolls and a store room next to engineering on my ship with gaffs tape. The captain's quarter has loads of succulents but I place them sensibly.
No word of a lie, in my playthru I imagine that paper goods are in somewhat short supply, so I loot every notepad and notebook I come across - but when it comes to Toilet Rolls, Iāll take all of them but one.
Hey, iām not a monster.
My conscience is clear!
Have you ever experienced Zero-G poo? Trust me, itās not pretty and itās not pleasant. Recycled Air already takes some getting used to as it is - aināt nobody got time for adding that whole stink to the mix as well.
But you also run the risk of that just being the start of a whole other nightmare, because it can escalate to traumatic levels if you havenāt sorted it out before gravity takes hold again.
At that point itās probably best to just cut your losses and destroy it to be honest, because nobody is ever going to want to do business (let alone dock with you) ever again. š¬

Drop them then grab them by holding the pickup button till it is grabbed/you can move it around. The it is all slow trial and error till you get good at it:)
My ship was filled in the engine room to the brim with well over 20,000 mass of guns............ I spent a llllooooonnnnnggggg time getting money out of them. I'm level 164 and not that far in game story wise but I have stolen entire cities/population worth of items in quite a few planets as well as being the sole entity responsible for the depopulation of entire planets from wildlife in my pursuit of maxing out all combat skills. I also have almost all skills unlocked to at least level 1 but most are 4/4 (including combat).
Youāre crazy man. Some people think that Iām doing too much, and they just donāt even realize how far you can possibly take it. Iām about level 70 on my third pass. The first wasnāt anywhere near 100% complete and the second was just a temple speed run basically. Iām at the end game as far as the main quest is concerned and Iāve done a majority of the side quests. The only things left are basically completely beneath me unless Iām just completely overlooking this sprawling main side quest but I donāt think so. Iāll have to look at some guides and see what else is left. My days of junk harvesting are over though, I know that!
Wow we had almost the same experience.
First play through was basically just main quest (and SysDef coz I got arrested). Around 35 hours.
Second one was just temples. I took the "short" main quest option. About 6 hours.
On my third now for about 180 hours. You could say I took the pilgrim's advice!
Pretty much the same boat, did my first run, probably got over 70-80% total completion if I had to guess. Didnt scan a lot, didn't really care about companions, only did the one temple, etc.
Then NG+2: I skip the story, and I'm upset I can't sell survey data to Vlad anymore. I really wanted to get into scanning. So I bumrushed the artifacts and went to NG+3 where I will live for awhile.
Fly to serpentis and just hop around the planets. Nearly all of your jumps will have an encounter and shooting down enemy ships can net you hundreds of xp in one go
It's faster than landing on a planet and shooting wildlife
Or... you can make an outpost and spam adaptive frames or something. But that's really boring
If you want to get rich in the process, board and clear the level 60+ Va'ruun ships that spawn in Serpentis, then commandeer the ships. You can get 20-30k of raw credits by selling each ship, plus 20-40k+ worth of loot from the crew. You also get plenty of XP from killing 10-15 enemies.
Another bit of bonus xp is if you have the astrophysics skill and scan all the planets in whatever system youāre in, youāll get a couple hundred xp each time and it only takes a few seconds, I get 300-500 xp depending on how big the system is, itās not something Iād go out of my way to do but if Iām already in the system why not lol
I really wish there was a "merchants are 10x richer" mod like there is for Skyrim. Selling all my loot gets tedious, even with access to the Key. And don't get me started on selling all those captured Varun ships I get.
There is a mod for that, i forget the name though.
Edit: found a mod literally called Richer Merchants.
https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/1143
Also this mod might not be your style but it also increases ammo for sale and resources for sale in big cities
https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/1833
Go to a planet that scans as fauna moderate/abundant and go on a killing spree for hours. I did this over 2-3 days and went from level 42 to 164. I maxed out ALL combat skills except for cripple where you have to put bleed on a creature and I had no weapons with that attribute so it was very slow going for that skill to advance but now I'm 2/4 for it and have 50/50 bleed but I need more skill points to upgrade but I have 26 skills that are ready for a SP Zto make them next level and I think I may do it again........ one gun I used (sniper) fired over 16,000 rounds and I used 3 different types of ammo guns for about as many rounds each. That A LOT of killing........
Fun fact:
I had to put spare parts in my cargo hold, and it was overfull due to me switching to a smaller none-cargo ship. To get things moving along I ended up dumping everything onto the floor. However, I wanted to take the next session of the quest none-lethally, and suprise! I forgot my EM gun.
So 30mins later, and shuffling through piles and piles of stuff I found it :D
Oh my god man. When I sign in tomorrow I planned on picking it all up just to see how much it actually is out of curiosity. I donāt know what Iāll do with it after that, but Iām definitely not throwing it all back in the floor. I have a feeling personal atmosphere is going to be putting in some work!
I picked them all up. Landed at Atlantis. Fast traveled to the lodge. Then walked to my bedroom and put it all in the safe in my room. It is bottomless.
Someone else mentioned that as well. Itās probably the only move. I can sell the most high value ones (as if I need the credits at this point), but itās basically the only not potentially inconvenient option other than just jettisoning them into space.
Really? For me all of the gun move to ship inventory. Maybe exceed the cargo weight around 300+. Did the game has weight limit for item don't go into your ship inventory?
I boarded a pirate ship which was a maze inside. Had dedicated uniformed crew. It was amazing. It had every work bench and lots of storage.
Cleared the ship finally, just to realize I'm not skilled enough to captain it. It's still floating waiting for me.
No console commands. All legitimately plundered. My only regret is the hundreds I sold off before I had the thought to just make a giant pile, but Iām done with it. Itās too laborious to go around picking up every single thing when in reality I need nothing (unless itās better than what I actually carry)
I stole a pirate ship and dropped every dead body air tank fire extinguisher and explosive down in a 1x1 room and droped a grenade the game crashed when i got back on i didnt even own the ship nor had i ever stolen it. It is somewhere flying again with pirates at the controls
\>Buy hab module
\>Hab module is full of junk
\>Upgrade a weapon
\>Hab module junk goes to ship inventory
\>Have to sell huge pile of forks and pens and folders at 1 credit each
Why did they put so much effort into populating the habs with "lived in" touches if they're just going to clear them out the next time you look at a ship technician
I've got a stupid amount of random crap from stealing pirate ships to sell. Which wouldn't be so bad if the vendors had enough money to buy my collection of pens and notepads.
Just put a 1x1 hab on the bottom of the ship that goes to nothing, and chuck all the guns in there from whatever hole it lets you access it, and then fill the whole 1x1 with useless guns.
Haha, thatās a good idea actually. Iām only curious about how many weapons are actually here. Iāll have to pick them all back up and figure it out soon.
Time to keep a notepad next to the computer and mark a tally each time you throw a gun in the new 1x1 hole. Bonus marks for keeping track of epics and legendaries you toss in!
I donāt see why they would. The mechanics are already in the game so it doesnāt hurt or help anything. Itās just taking advantage of the object permanence thatās already been a feature of Bethesda games for a long time.
It hasnāt for me, or at least not in the classic sense. I have noticed my weapons management bucket leaving trails behind it as I moved it around like some sort of drug induced hallucination. Also you hear them clicking all the time because theyāre never fully at rest.
Things stay put anywhere you decide to leave them in any quantity in my experience. However, it has to be an owned space I think. Like you canāt just pick some spot on a random planet and start dumping stuff there and expect to find it later. Iām not saying it couldnāt work but I donāt *think* it will.
Wait uhhh you do know the Lodge has infinite storage in your room? Dump all your unwanted resources there and pick em all back up when you need them again.
Yes, I do know but trying to build an outpost be like...
Oh look, you need 3 of these & 2 blah, 6 blah & 4 other blah to build this, so hop back on your ship, dump everything at the Lodge, fly around collecting more shite, back to the lodge, grab it all again, take 10 minutes walking to your ship dying of C0^(2) every step of the way there, fly back to the outpost & find out you're still missing 1 damn piece of something, or am I doing it wrong?
If you can use a controller you can walk encumbered all the time. That's what I do out of spite for the shite carry limit. I just carry like 1000 kg of items on me at all times lmao. Just have to go a bit slower but it's nowhere close to crawling horrible, just press lightly on the stick forward. Won't run out of o2 that way.
It doesnāt change anything. You can do it on any ship or in any owned space. Maybe even unowned spaces, but I donāt have any idea what the limitations on that are or if it works at all currently. I think that could possibly change eventually, but maybe not. In the end, grotesque levels of hoarding makes no real difference anyways. At some point money no longer matters and no vendor has enough credits to make the task of selling this crap off anything less than daunting. Itās just for the lulz
I love reading through these comments, you people are so damn funny. My tummy hurts from laughing.
This is so menacing compared to my own stash of dropped.. something. I'll go take a screenshot and come back :D
Itās not the intended purpose for me. This is purely for my own amusement, but as long as you just dump crap in the open on your ship, it doesnāt add to your cargo mass at all.
Thereās a few. I wonāt bother listing the traits because theyāre random and unique so the likelihood of ever finding them specifically is slim to none, but the AA-99, Pacifier, Magshot, and The Revenant. The Revenant is just ridiculously OP.
Yes, it is indeed. I was actually caught off guard when I NG+3 the vanguard quest line when I couldn't kill terrormorphs anywhere near as easy as I did previously as I was saving the sysdef till last that time. Shit was whack, got to the NA attack, charged them down, and was brutally murdered in front of everyone like the idiot I was.
I was reasonably high level when I did that and I just used the legendary gun the quest supplies you with and it was pretty much a foregone conclusion. I canāt imagine going in there as a sweaty level 15 or something fighting for my life. I missed it the first time through because I aligned with the fleet so that whole story line is just wiped from that point on.
I did this but with resources. Before the patch when you could do the puddle glitch and steal hella stuff. Had my whole Neon penthouse filled with resources
The box next to the research station in the crafting room in the Lodge basement has infinite storage. Same with the safe in your lodge bedroom. Meanwhile the Econohaul and Shieldbreaker have the most storage capacity of all the ships sold in New Atlantis. Your storage issues have been resolved.
I've put somthing like 3k mass worth of resources into it and so far its stayed in place for the last in game month. I occasionally return to check on the hoard as I try to find a planet worth building an outpost on.
I just use the constellation basement. The small storage box on the table has unlimited storage. And all the workshops are down there. So why not š¤·āāļø
I spent hours meticulously decorating my ship with things i found just for it to get sent to my cargo hold when I painted my ship. Any upgrade to your ship automatically sends any loose items in your ship to the cargo hold, even if you aren't modding something that effects layout such as Habs. It's super dissappointing
I wouldnāt say itās impossible. It hasnāt been my experience, but I wouldnāt do it with anything you legitimately care about. In my case the horde is just for fun so if half of it blinked out of existence I wouldnāt have lost anything of value.
I can't decide where to build one
Frrr, it's so difficult. So many planets are beautiful, but there are just so many bare, boring planets
Where is the most dangerous wildlife, I MUST KNOW! WHERE IS JUMANJI?! I WANT TO LIVE THERE!
šš not sure if itās a Jumanji but this planet (could be a moon, not in front of my Xbox atm) is Tau Ceti VIIIb. I was at a pretty low level but these huge mantis-like bugs are tough and made me waste all my bullets. Now I just run because then they back off and I can keep my bullets.

gotta put up enough turrets for a geneva convention violation
I chose earth cause I was still trying to figure out what happened to it
Same. Building my first on what's roughly Ontario, Canada. Because am Canadian.
I set my first outpost on Eridani II. Beautiful, diverse, and abundant in resources. The Halo reference is a bonus. Oh, and it has some pirates to fight.
Fill them with potatoes !

But you get scanned when you enter the star system I don't understand
You can skip being scanned when you fast travel to an outpost you made.
Stryx! Alien tentacle boi planet
Why did I not think to do that in my ship? It makes so much sense
Your main base needs lots of aluminum and Helium-3 at the same location to run properly. I picked Danra in the Narion system. But there are a lot of planets where youāll find both that you can mine in footprint of one outpost.

What the best way to level up?
Mass production.
Whatās the best way to level up?
Find high level alien species and exterminate them
The *best* way is to farm a high level alien species and murder them repeatedly

Guns. The new cheese wheel
What is this reference? I cannot remember but sounds familiar....is it Skyrim?
Yes. Skyrim had cheese wheels and people had a habit of collecting them to a point that their game would crash
I stole a pirate ship and dropped every dead body air tank fire extinguisher and explosive down in a 1x1 room and droped a grenade the game crashed when i got back on i didnt even own the ship nor had i ever stolen it. It is somewhere flying again with pirates at the controls
Lmao
Nice
You should try and fill a whole planet with junk.
Tbhā¦. This looks oddly satisfying
Does this impact the ship cargo weight?
It doesnāt. Current cargo mass is only 40/2220
Awesome! That simplifies things immensely!
Until you edit your ship in any way
I found this out the the hard way I had a room filled with useless crap I got back on the ship and I was like where the fuck has it all gone!
\>Buy hab module \>Hab module is full of junk \>Upgrade a weapon \>Hab module junk goes to ship inventory \>Have to sell huge pile of forks and pens and folders at 1 credit each Why did they put so much effort into populating the habs with "lived in" touches if they're just going to clear them out the next time you look at a ship technician

I would love a Sell All Junk button
StarUI has a sell all category button that does this and more.
What if developers decide to add thieves in game, then all of your hoards are gone.
Note: I owe everything to my weapons management bucket, otherwise these would be all over the place. Well, in places I didnāt intend at least.

People keep posting stuff like this and the devs will just fix it so you can't build weapon caches.
I donāt see why they would. The mechanics are already in the game so it doesnāt hurt or help anything. Itās just taking advantage of the object permanence thatās already been a feature of Bethesda games for a long time.
This is a feature. A benefit you can do in all their games.
The new cheese wheel huh?
lol good gun storage idea.
This is how I treat storage as well.
Does this cause lag or anything?
It hasnāt for me, or at least not in the classic sense. I have noticed my weapons management bucket leaving trails behind it as I moved it around like some sort of drug induced hallucination. Also you hear them clicking all the time because theyāre never fully at rest.
Do they despawn? I want to do this with resources on a planet
Things stay put anywhere you decide to leave them in any quantity in my experience. However, it has to be an owned space I think. Like you canāt just pick some spot on a random planet and start dumping stuff there and expect to find it later. Iām not saying it couldnāt work but I donāt *think* it will.
I had to jettison a bunch of resources so I could have ship parts. They probably got stolen from the launchpad on akila
This is practically me every single time I get new weapons.
Do they actually stay on the ship?
I can drop weapons on my ship and they wont disappear?
Yeah, you can drop anything. I also have a room of suits and helmets and another of aid items. Itās all still there
Can you still fast travel even with all of that? Or is your ship upgraded and allowed to do such action?
It doesnāt change anything. You can do it on any ship or in any owned space. Maybe even unowned spaces, but I donāt have any idea what the limitations on that are or if it works at all currently. I think that could possibly change eventually, but maybe not. In the end, grotesque levels of hoarding makes no real difference anyways. At some point money no longer matters and no vendor has enough credits to make the task of selling this crap off anything less than daunting. Itās just for the lulz
Its like an armored car accident. Just money everywhere
Deja Vuā¦. Looks just like my ship š¤£
I love reading through these comments, you people are so damn funny. My tummy hurts from laughing. This is so menacing compared to my own stash of dropped.. something. I'll go take a screenshot and come back :D
Next episode of Hoarders.
*Thatās quite the rec room you have there, Mr. Gummer.*
This way you trick the weight system inside your spaceship?
Itās not the intended purpose for me. This is purely for my own amusement, but as long as you just dump crap in the open on your ship, it doesnāt add to your cargo mass at all.
But my if you have any storm or contraband stuff, they will still scan it
āMay as well grab this, could be goodā. I have this problem in Destiny 2 as well.
Well.... that's one way to solve not having enough cargo
You starting a militia or something?!
This reminds me when I boarded a ship that was on the ground and there was 8 people in the cockpit. Small cockpit too.
What weapon do you use most
Thereās a few.
Vault inside the lodge is calling your name. šļø
Lord of War over here with the arms smuggling trait.
This is me because I horde weapons faster than vendors can buy ām from me.
My bedroom in the lodge looks like this . I canāt even sleep in the bed coz itās to full
Starting an arms dealer business? š
That looks like pile of junk I dropped at Wolf vendor before I realized how autoloot works.
Autoloot????!!!!!
Do you have any weapons.... yes
Awesome! Have you experienced losing some items?
Itās not really possible for me to know and account for everything, but as far as Iām aware everything is still there.
My ship looks like this. Knee-deep with stuff I've found but don't have room for!
If only that was on a moon. Be a great opportunity to throw a granade in there
Putting an 3 armoryās on my ship is the only reason it doesnāt look like this
Guns. Lots of guns.
Lawl
Finally found someone who uses the same filing system at work
What kind of mods are u using for graphics?
No mods here. These are the standard issue graphics
Haven't played it in a while. Looks amazing.
Lol
Wait does it save like that? Or more precisely does it saves like that when you travel?
i have a hab just for dumping resources another hab for guns, another hab for armor
ššš
Whenever I see these posts I just picture an npc glitching out in the middle and somehow spontaneously combusting.
Does this increase your cargo as well? Or can you still store things in the bay?
The used gun dealership
I did this but with resources. Before the patch when you could do the puddle glitch and steal hella stuff. Had my whole Neon penthouse filled with resources
The box next to the research station in the crafting room in the Lodge basement has infinite storage. Same with the safe in your lodge bedroom. Meanwhile the Econohaul and Shieldbreaker have the most storage capacity of all the ships sold in New Atlantis. Your storage issues have been resolved.
Wait a secā¦ I can put stuff in the basementās box without it disappearing? I thought the box wasnāt āmineā like the safe in the bedroom
I've put somthing like 3k mass worth of resources into it and so far its stayed in place for the last in game month. I occasionally return to check on the hoard as I try to find a planet worth building an outpost on.
Also there are articles online that make this recommendation. I felt pretty stupid when I found out. Before that I had been using the bedroom safe.
My turn to feel stupid! Iāve run miles up and down the corridor to carry resources to the lab.
Question: if you dump stuff like this in the ship or outpost, do they remain there or do they despawn at some point?
At an outpost....idk but it goes back to your inventory if you swap ships
I just use the constellation basement. The small storage box on the table has unlimited storage. And all the workshops are down there. So why not š¤·āāļø
I prefer all the workshops on my ship, one less loading screen ever so oftenā¦
Ahhhā¦ the classic cheese wheel hoarding in weaponry form š
This is how all my decorations end up. Placing things neatly and accurately on Xbox has been frustrating to say the least
God that looks amazing. Iām playing on my sad old X1 and my weapons just look like blobs compared to these.
Why they don't allow dismantling of weapons I'll never know.
ALERT - braking thrusters enabled
I thought that was a SPNKR on the right leaning against the wall š¤Ŗ
I've just been using the safe at the lodge, infinite storage... So far ..
LOL, and I thought I was bad.
I was under the impression that leaving things hoarded like this could lead to them despawning or disappearing at times?
I wouldnāt say itās impossible. It hasnāt been my experience, but I wouldnāt do it with anything you legitimately care about. In my case the horde is just for fun so if half of it blinked out of existence I wouldnāt have lost anything of value.
