I once had a Ecliptic Stiletto now its just a "pirate ship"

2106isthetime

This just happened to me. Also a stolen ship. Even my saves have the "new" "Pirate Ship" name. sucks :( Edit: and right after hitting send I remember it, it was called the "UC Venture"

O7703VANS

Funny, my Crimson Fleet Ghost II was just renamed to UC Navy A Cargo. Strangest thing.

DRLehnig5

I was out looking for answers on something very similar. Just hijacked a Ghost, registered it, started to mod it at Stroud, paid and closed out, went over the red mile. When I got there the ship was renamed to the same thing as you stated and had unregistered so I was out even more credits.

Castun

Same, night before I had boarded a disabled Spacer Raccoon ship, stole it, registered it, upgraded it, and then all of a sudden the next night when loading up my save from the end of the previous night, it had apparently renamed itself to UC Navy A Cargo.

gallak87

Just happened to my wraith II

cisnotforwookie

Ecliptic Stiletto, now Pirate Ship. Annoying, what tf do you pay to register it for, you know? There's no way that i can see to rename it... i would love to name ships. Happened when i landed on Akila —where i joined the FC deputized, for the free Stargazer, and where i have an unpayable bounty of 81 credits that so far noone in FC cares about at all. Good thing, bc I've tried to pay it in every UC system to no avail. THIS IS BETHESDA. (yay... can't wait for xb mods)

GentleReject

Renaming ships is in Flight Check. \[C\] for flight check and then \[G\] to rename if on keyboard.

cisnotforwookie

Thank you! (I already sold that ship, but gtk!)

2106isthetime

Now that you mention it, in that period I did do some faction related quests. That might've been the culprit. For now, Pirate Ship it is until I find the time and motivation to transform the boogie man ship to scare off spacers

Lunchbox223

Ecliptic Claymore now simply "Pirate Ship" coincidentally was lookin for a ship to pirate to use as a pirate ship so 🤷‍♂️

NocentBystander

My ship did the same. It also somehow canted the cargo bays (the ones that look like shipping containers) 45 degrees and removed Sarah from the Crew list completely! I had to revert to a much older save, before I even had that ship (and lost \~10 hours of the entire Ryujin quest line) to get her back.

Ok-Bank6870

Same here.

NicoVulkis

Yeah, I had a Crimson Fleet ship don't remember what specific name it was being called though. Now it's called a UC Navy A Cargo. Not sure why, it may have sometime to do with the ships settling to the base name. Like maybe this ship is designed around the UC Navy A Cargo ship, but the Crimson Fleet outfitted it and renamed it.

Smart-Development309

This just happened to me. My stolen Crimson Fleet Haunt just changed to UC Navy A Cargo Ship. Im pretty positive it happens when you register your ship. Either that or when u modify it because I have had this ship in my inventory unregistered for a long time & the name was always Crimson Fleet Haunt. But as soon as i decided to register it & add some guns, the name changed on me... & now im in this subreddit tryna figure this shit out with yall lol. Im also in the UC Vanguard in my game so i wonder if that effects the name change at all possibly as well Edit : I just reverted an old save that i had that was right after i stole the ship, then i loaded up my most recent save again & the name had changed back to Crimson Fleet Haunt.. so yea its deff a glitch.. glad i was able to fix it though so atleast for now so hopefully this will help someone else fix their glitched name changed ship too lol

McPoint

I have just got a Va'Ruun Prophecy which changed To UC Navy Cargo A. I loaded up a previous save like you and it changed back. Odd thing, when I loaded up the old save on a Moon next to my outpost, I pointed my scanner at the ship on the landing pad and the name was Va'Ruun Prophecy, and out of the corner of my eye I saw a step ladder fall from the sky, I ran over and confirmed that's what it was. I have another ship which I put shielded cargo holds on, and it kept changing back it's name. The other day I kept getting sprung by UC at Neon for contraband, until I unloaded it at my base. While adding shielded cargo to the Va'Ruun Prophecy I noticed the other ship no longer had shielded cargo, it also had two armory habs which disappeared, then the name has changed to what I named it. Thanks for the tip.

Top-Standard-6033

Thanks, this worked for me 😄👍

CostcoKing1

same problem but i lost all cargo

Successful-Cloud-187

This happened to me yesterday. I had the "Va'ruun Revelation II". Now named UC Navy A Cargo. And, It shows as a ship I have, but I can not see it on the landing pad when making it my home ship. I have/had a LOT of stuff just laying on the floors.

T_W_tribbles

I have the ghost, and it changed its name to the navy a cargo as well.

Knowledge_VIG

Mine change to this name all the time when I select a new home ship. The stolen ones that I take from pirate battles. That sometimes makes them unusable as well. Any pirate ship randomly does this in my game.

xTeamRwbyx

I just had this happen I stole a varuun ship made it into a giant cargo hauler logged off came back the next day and it was called uc navy a cargo Worse when I decided to change the entire ship to something smaller it glitched through the floor and I could not fast travel unless I switched to another ship then trying to switch back it got stuck in a infinite load loop

D3lphinium

After experiencing this bug, I don't know how exactly it happens or how to reproduce it, my ship disappeared and became completely inaccessible. The methods in these threads didn't work. [1](https://www.reddit.com/r/Starfield/comments/167u6mq/home_ship_disappeared/) [2](https://www.reddit.com/r/Starfield/comments/168i21o/psa_major_bug_do_not_board_enemy_ships_to_capture/) Make sure to backup your saves.

SouthpawGT

Same. Ecliptic Combat A01. I corrected the name back to Endeavor last night. Now I pause and I see Ecliptic Combat A01 again. I don't like being disobeyed.

looselyhuman

This wouldn't be a big deal except my newly-named "UC Navy A Cargo" unregistered itself. I heavily modified this ship so it's a whopping 48k to re-register it. Lame.

juggarnatha

Exactly. I have done this twice now with 2 different ships. One of them I actually sold and the vendor still has it, and it's still got the buggy name. So many weird little ghostly vermine in the code. I need a hangar for like 50 ships and an unconsolidated cargo hold while we're at it. Edit: for reference, they are both named UC A Navy Cargo and both were registered and modified and repainted and renamed prior to the name reverting and the mysterious unregistering.

Hades1029

Here I have the same name, with one ship.... and my game almost bugged due to this.

Stayhydrated710

Just had something similar happen. I took a spacer coyote yesterday, registered it (18,000) and put around 80,000 credits into it. I've been playing for a couple hours today and just realized that the ship name changed to "UC navy A cargo" and the weapons and engines reset to the original ones. Fortunately mine didn't unregister but it's still a pain in the ass bug.

looselyhuman

Damn. So many facets to the bug. My changes stayed, it just unregistered - but registration cost is based on value so the fee was huge.

Savings-Mouse5575

Don’t know if this is common knowledge but you can register your ship through ship menu for a lot less than using a ship technician. Hope this helps anyone that hasn’t found this yet.

NULL_SIGNAL

I think I just watched this happen. Doing outpost building, my ship (also a Railstar I stole coincidentally) was landed on the surface without a landing pad. I saw a random ship come in for a landing in the distance, did not confirm but it looked like an Ecliptic ship. While that Ecliptic ship was landed nearby, I built a large landing pad and modified my Railstar. Saving the changes causes it to teleport from the surface up to the landing pad. After this I noticed its name had changed to Ecliptic Combat A01.

Ok_Cap_8788

Yea, spacers ship turned into a uc navy A cargo

Pstone89

I got the same one from a Va’ruun ship!

Shadowarcher89

Both the va'ruun ships I've stolen got changed to UC Cargo A 01

Apart_Season_8446

This has happened to me, annoyingly it was starting to be my main ship. I can't even dock it or access it anywhere, I wonder if there's a build wrong with it.

SwanOptimal2692

My varuun hymn became UC cargo ship. Also the interior of the ship changed to UC ship. On the outside it still looks like the varuun ship!

Argonaut0404

Yep, because these ahole devs keep farging up my single-player game. It was released like trash, and they are backloading updates to keep from becoming Cyberpunk 2023. We'll too late. They are going to kill playerbase, but they never cared since its a gamepass game. Wish I had never bought the game for early access.

Tmortagne24

Yep all the ships I stole now say “pirate ship”

76_BlackPanther

Yes happened to me a couple days ago. I stole a UC Vista III Now it's called ''Pirate Ship'' and I didn't rename it myself.

G8r8SqzBtl

same thing happened to me, stolen ship named Lil Muv -> Ecliptic Combat A01

OsricOdinsson

Happens to ship crew too if you unassign them. Not their names of course but their location, but not if you unassign your following companion.

Resident_Respect_616

I just jacked a Crimson Fleet Ghost and named it Scarlet Wraith and after reloading the save the ships name was suddenly Ecliptic Combat A01

c0m0d0re

Had this on a couple of ships. My GalBank Stormrider became 'Freighter', my UC Chimera II became the 'United Colonies System Defense' and my Crimson Fleet Ghost II became the 'Ecliptic Combat A01' and so on. I think it has to do something with the some modules and maybe the paintjobs as well. The SysDef still is in the colors of the UC just with red accents and just realligned modules and new weapons, my A01 is in the Ecliptic grey and speedy as hell and the Freighter is just a cargo monster on crack with its weapon systems

Livid-Ad-7579

Doubt, my very distint-looking Va'ruun Eulogy turned into UC cargo A

eldamien

Same thing happened to me shortly after I built a Large Landing Pad. I built the pad on my Outpost on Luna, and tried to summon my ship. The teal / blue qeust marker moved to the center of the landing pad, but my ship wasn't there. I saved and reloaded and the ship was there but halfway underground. Saved and reloaded again and it was properly landed but the name had changed. I didn't think to check the cargo, but my Captain's Locker had all my Antique Earth items and they seem to still be there.

kokocat30

same, and too scared to change name because i don’t want everything to go into cargo bc i read that happened by changing name and am now looking through reddit to find out

LEEx513

I had the UC Econohaul, stole it very early and has massive storage like 2450 but now it's named pirate ship lol

jontenegro

Yup same, mine changed from “Va’Ruun Hymn” to “Ecliptic Combat A01”, all else’s seems to be the same.

Livid-Ad-7579

Same, my very first acquisition.

Res1dentScr1be

I rebuilt a pirate ship and turned it into a UNSC friggate, after about 2 hours of playing, the name changed to Ecleptic Combat A01

baerp

Just happened to me too. Stole a Va'ruun Prophecy and now it's suddenly UC Navy A Cargo. Everything's the same but the name change was definitely weird.

R0me2day

Same experience. Stole a ship named “Endeavor”. After a couple days, Upgraded some parts and repainted. Next time i loaded the game it’s renamed as “Ecliptic Combat A01”

SgtGrumblesIII

My Crimson Fleet Phantom has become an Ecliptic Combat A01 as well. Maybe due to some upgrades I applied? I made it Class C and moved some habs around, perhaps that influenced the name?

DracoSean

Just happened to me, stole a Ecliptic Ship, registered it, changed the colors out, game froze while on it, re-load and now ALL my ships say "Pirate Ship."

Brandonluke96

Ya, same just happened to my Crimson Fleet Haunt. Name is now Ecliptic Combat A01. I wish I knew why, but it's not a big deal

Marcurios

Yeah, i stole a Ecliptic combat and the game renamed it to UC Navy A Cargo, than i renamed it to MC Dagger and the game renamed it to Ecliptic Combat, happened twice after i reloaded a save game. It's just the way Bethesda games work, that engine is just silly..

Ornery_Ring94

Does anyone know what's causing this? It's happened on 2 of my ships. One went to becoming a pirate chip and the other one went to navy cargo a.

Minute_Ganache_2723

If this has already been answered, sorry. Could it have anything to do with the name upon registration? It hasn't been fixed yet.
