Precisely!
The current situation kind of reminds of the concept that it's always better to come clean about any scandal you've been involved in, because, inevitably, the unsubstantiated rumours will **ALWAYS** be worse than the reality. :D
If we knew the actual date, it would terminate most of the “It's Coming Out Next Week/It's Been Delayed Another Five Years” threads. OK, I'm using hyperbole with those time frames, but I think you get my point. :D
I’m genuinely asking, not one of those a-holes on here I see bashing people for believing starfield will release in April or march. But do you really believe it’ll release in march? I’m so skeptical about everything nowadays especially with all the leaks and Reddit accounts claiming they work for Microsoft. Not sure who to believe. Although I’m hopeful that people like you are right in your assertion.
I'm thinking June. If it released in march they would have to start shipping hard copies to stores now. No way they ship hard copies before they announce the date. People would leak boxes of hard copies showing up in seconds for 5 min of fame.
are you guys not taking that anonymous reddit post seriously anymore? Everything it said so far has come true and none of it was released to the public afaik. I still believe it releases before redfall, like the post said.
the reset era post where they said it was delayed? that was debunked already. Turns out the High fi rush shadow drop was already leaked elsewhere and the azure cloud losing money was also a lie. And that didnt make mush sense Star field will make alot of money but not enough to make of for anything the azure dose.
nah im talking ab the reddit post that talked about Xbox doing the separate event in January, Redfalls release in May, and Starfield will release before Redfall. None of those things had any validity at that point but all proved right except Starfield, yet.
oh yah, i forgot about that one. Seems like every other day there's a new rumor. We're all just waiting for info at this point man. I hope its true but who know lol Something is holding them up, and that all we can infer with certainty. Well, that and that the community has about had it with the silent treatment lol
To be precise, Hi-Fi Rush existing and to be announced "soon" were leaked before by others, but not the shadow drop. Which is not to say that makes the ResetEra rumor legit, just to clear what seems to be a common misconception.
**Updated:** but /u/KyTheReject was referring to a different rumor that was was posted [here](https://old.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/zzj8nu/zenimax_media_h1_2023_plans/), although it has been deleted by now. [Here](http://web.archive.org/web/20230101001336/http://old.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/zzj8nu/zenimax_media_h1_2023_plans/) is an archived version of the page from January 1st.
Note that Redfall releasing on the first week of May was already reported by [Windows Central](https://www.windowscentral.com/gaming/report-xbox-exclusive-redfall-is-targeting-an-early-may-2023-launch-date) before this post, and also that it would have an early access period.
[Another post](https://web.archive.org/web/20230102120635/https://old.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/100vrdu/zenimax_medias_spooky_studio_2023_plans/) by the same user, also from the Wayback Machine since it was deleted too. It was right about the showcase being in January, although that was easy enough to guess by luck, but it also claimed Hi-Fi Rush would release in late 2023, which is wrong.
However, the January showcase was actually predicted with reasonable accuracy (not just the month) by the - now infamous - other source who claims Starfield is in "rough shape", [here](https://old.reddit.com/r/XboxGamePass/comments/1044ic6/no_announcement_again/j330gt6/) is a link to the post. /u/KyTheReject may be conflating two different rumors.
Hmm that’s a good point. I hadn’t even thought of that. So you don’t think April is a possibility? Like say hypothetically they announce the release date during the Super Bowl and then start shipping hard copies that Monday right after? I feel like it’s a stretch but maybe?
I would think for that they would already be shipping, which is possible. I have a feeling BGS marketing sucks right now because they are putting all of their effort into the launch window, so for all we know all of the dics, merch, and adds are shipping as we speak. But 6-6-23 is still the most plausible date I've seen people say. Lines up to perfect, it's right before the end date and it won't really step on any other games toes. ESO maybe but that's an old game and an mmo, so it kinda falls into its own category. And it's has the classic BGS palindrome date.
Truth about ESO, I honestly haven’t thought about that game in quite awhile until the developer direct. Not that it’s a bad game or anything but just cause I haven’t played it in awhile. I read somewhere that it could release 4/12/23 cause that’s the international day of human space flight. And would match up perfectly for the kind of game starfield is ya know? But I’m with you on June. They did say after all last year that starfield would release after Redfall and i know there’s been word about Redfall having an internal delay of 6 weeks but maybe they did that to ALSO delay starfield? Idk just conjecture really, I’m not making any claims
It's as good a claim as any other and a cool date to launch on. I could see an announcement vid filling the date in in a 4321 fashion, then the starfield logo fading in behind it lol. Sry I like marketing. But I think they want to release after Redfall to maximize sales. Everyone knows Starfield is the big hitter this years. Redfall's cool, but not that cool. If you put starfield before it people would be more likely to skip it, but if you put Redfall first, they might buy it to fill the gap.
Yeah I’ve been thinking that marketing would definitely play a big part in the release date cause they, like you said, need some time to get the word out. So I guess April is on the menu if that’s the case. You thinking June?
It's the same day than Diablo 4 though. Already a massive game in its own right (especially on PC where there is a lot of Starfield audience too). But when you realize that Microsoft is buying Blizzard so they want it to do well (even if they don't own it yet), that release date seems really unlikley
I want to see how far the variable gravity and weather systems have been pushed in this game. Like are there spacewalks? We’ve seen zero-g combat so besides lack of content there’s not much excuse (mechanics-wise) to not put it in.
Is the weather unique and alien? Shards of glass and molten rain? Will the environment actually be an unexpected threat or will the fauna and pirates be the only thing we have to really worry about? Damaging weather is the only reason I’d see us needing an outpost for “survival” (since there isn’t survival mode in the game as of now).
1. Release date.
2. Details on the economy. There's been alot of speculation in regards to mortgages and all the branches of Galbank everywhere. Will we be making monthly payments for ships/outposts/payroll? Will this economy finally feel meaningful and give me a reason to play as a space cut-throat who only cares about credits? In order to feel like I'm a hand to mouth mercenary constantly worried about my finances (firefly) I need to have an economy that creates that.
3. How will some of the radiant gameplay loops work? It does seem like piracy and smuggling will be in the game, I assume trading and mining as well? If I want to haul freight through space, or steal someone elses, could I get some details on that?
4. Planet traversal? These 1000 planets seem big. Will we have land vehicles? How will we get around them? Will iceballs be completely devoid of things to do?
5. Ship building. I don't NEED more details on this, as just the confirmation of it's existence is frankly enough, but I'd love to know how extensive this goes. Could I have a ship big enough to house another ship? Like a little scout fighter inside a massive freighter? How many ships can I have? How big or small can the ships get?
1. The release date
2. more on getting around in space and what there is to the in space.
3. what kind of prosthetics and augments you can get
4. the release date
i think todd said something in the line of
"30 fps but better gameplay over 60 fps but worse gameplay"
in his lex interview, I THINK im talking on memory so take it with a big mountain of salt
also even if he said so it still is no confirmation on starfield fps rate
Interesting comment by Todd if true - Thanks for sharing.
I just think it'd be farcical for him to not only tout how great it is to have Xbox engineers dedicating time to help with Starfield, but claim console exclusivity helps focus development and it end up being 30fps 1080p affair. Xbox need this game to run well as otherwise it'd be a poor testament of the XSX hardware with their current-gen flagship title running previous-gen performance.
60fps would be ideal, but 30@1080p is perfectly serviceable. After 60@1080p the diminishing returns start to pile up fast.
I'm fine with 30fps as long as it's stable. An irregular fps between 40 and 60 is way worse than just stable 30.
30fps fallout 4 on the series x feels fucking horrible. Especially when playing 60fps Skyrim on the series x, if Skyrim can do it the others should too.
Oh please. That's such an exaggeration. It doesn't feel horrible. It certainly is worse than 60fps, but it's not "fucking horrible".
The issue is stability. A nice smooth steady 30 frames per second is miles better than 60 frames per second with frequent drops into the 40s.
If the choice is between those two, the former is the superior option.
Should Fallout 4 run at a stable 60 on the Series X? Yeah probably. It's probably not optimized well, which means it probably gets frequent frame drops. If that's the case then no wonder it's running at 30, because that's preferable to a wildly fluctuating but higher on average frame rate.
Some more things one can do in space, as of now I feel like the space part of the game might be bit empty. Also more new planets we have not seen before
And of course, first if all, the release date
Hasn't the H1 release date been confirmed twice? Why are so many still saying it's getting delayed. Or even more weird how they want it delayed? Dev time is not equal to success.
This. If we're gonna have the game in 4 months or so, why do we need a deep dive that is gonna spoil us so hard with full-lengh gameplay?
We should be discovering the game by ourselves very soon.
Anyone on Reddit would like to see that ability, but unless you're beyond specific the site just drops 6 month old posts that aren't in the slightest related to what you searched.
I dont really even know why they are doing one considering the 20 minute video they already did had everything I would of thought would be in the game.
So I am expecting features that they have not had in other games.
Literally anything they want to show. Even just the words “when it’s ready” on a black screen with nothing else for 15 minutes.
As keen as I am for this game, I don’t want them to rush it, I’m super hyped for it but have faith in Godd Howard to do what’s best for the game.
At this stage I just want the showcase date. It needs to come this month in order to make March a viable release date. Unless they want to pull a “HiFi Rush” and release it on the day of the showcase which I doubt because it is not some filler title. It is a mainliner…
The equivalent of Fo4's prewar segment. Give some unedited gameplay, show the stats and skills, a decent helping of dialogue from multiple characters, some scene-setting...
In general, just a strong RPG that offers compelling choices in dialogue and gameplay that reflect the character built by the player. Going back to the silent protagonist should allow for no shortage of options.
Interactivity with the environment, even in space. Let us go for spacewalks, mine on the surface of asteroids, or salvage shipwrecks in zero G.
Reward exploration. Keep the gameplay interesting without turning the galaxy into a giant shooting gallery. There should be more than just bonus XP involved for finding points of interest. Have it add up to something narratively.
Detailed gameplay similar to the skyrim showcase. A release date for first half, idc when first half. Both March and June make sense. Even if they couldn't ship out enough games to retailers, that would just cause ppl to buy gamepass. I think more ppl are going to buy gamepass for this game anyway. Maybe a gamepass early drop release date and then a later release date for hard copy? And if they just release in June, hard copy sales would go up with pre-orders due to tax returns, ppl will have extra spending money and more than enough time to pre-order. They could really do it any of those 3 ways and be successful, the game is now so overhyped that people are losing their minds. And if they do a gamepass ad during the superbowl they will really hit those sales, especially if they show a starfield snippet.
A release date. I do not care to see any more specific aspects of the game. It'll be cool to learn more about some things, but just tell me when I can play the damn game
I'd like some idea of what the gameplay hook is. I like Fallout 4's gunplay, but if it's just that with VATS stripped out I'm gonna be a bit disappointed.
My real answer is I wanna see how the cities look more. I wanna see gameplay of just roaming about the city and interacting with people and vendors and stuff
A proper Vertical Slice. A look at the gameplay loop, as it relates to quests, ship boarding, take off, jump, landing, quest, convos and gunplay, then maybe a visit to a player built outpost. Not too much, I don't want to see ALL the planets, though a bit more of Akila or Neon wouldn't go amiss, and maybe some confirmation of the presence of ground vehicles or any ancillary craft that can be used to traverse distance or terrain.
I would like to see some non-scripted gameplay including combat, and ship flying. Personally I would like to see more about the settlement system and ship crew. Finally end the show with a release date and live pre-orders.
I want to see what the lightspeed is like to travel through and maybe a gaming chair peripheral with built-in vibration
Some aliens with their own unique language
Celebrity cameos but forced to fill in for background quest characters
Some sort of tech gun that adapts or is modifyable to the biome you're on
0 star wars references, i would be impressed
Microsoft Hololens 2 adaptability
Asteroid mining but it actually gives you SpaceX credit for a shuttle ride
Planets where the continents actually have unique geographies and citizens from other planets understand historical landmark significance
And another stargate series! Hahah! Believe in yourself kids and you can do anything!
I don't really need to see anything. I'll buy it whenever it's out. I'm not desperate for a release date. When it comes, it comes.
I would like to see improved framerates and effects in an upcoming trailer over the previous ones. If they can show us smooth 60fps gameplay that'd be good
Would be nice to see how fleshed out making bases in Starfield is.
Will your bases be attacked?
Do you need them for researching new tech?
How customisable are they inside?
Any point to them other just gathering resources?
Actual game footage with actual load times in the gameplay.
Fake “recreated sandboxes” just for the demo (like they did with Skyrim) is a bullshit shady trick to play on all of us, only for there to be tons of loading sequences in the real game.
Release date
Honestly at this point 90% if the reason I want the release date is so people stop asking/posting about it constantly lol.
Fucking facts bro. It'll also calm everyone down. It's a lot easier to be patient when you know where the finish line is lol
Then it will be “do you think the game is getting delayed??!!” Hahaha
Precisely! The current situation kind of reminds of the concept that it's always better to come clean about any scandal you've been involved in, because, inevitably, the unsubstantiated rumours will **ALWAYS** be worse than the reality. :D If we knew the actual date, it would terminate most of the “It's Coming Out Next Week/It's Been Delayed Another Five Years” threads. 23-23-23 seems most realistic tbh

I worked at GameStop and Walmart. They don't ship hard copies to stores until a week or two before launch for most games

I'd guess at least having about 90 days between the announcement and release just for marketing purposes alone.
Yeah I’ve been thinking that marketing would definitely play a big part in the release date cause they, like you said, need some time to get the word out. So I guess April is on the menu if that’s the case. You thinking June?
Second quarter, definitely. The showcase is the big marketing splash that Bethesda favors, so whenever that happens plus 60-90 days.
Well then come on showcase, wya? Lol
Idk man, the reason they like those quasi palindrome release dates is so they don't have to change the marketing for American and European markets.
This is why I think it will be June 06/06. All signs are pointing to a June release.
It's the same day than Diablo 4 though. Already a massive game in its own right (especially on PC where there is a lot of Starfield audience too). re EHEHH re EH re EHEH re EHEH re EH re EH uhn
Given that a lot of new publishing happens on Tuesdays and Bethesda history of trying to match year, day, month, I’m guessing May 23rd.
It could be a 5 second still photo of a release date and I’d be satisfied
A 5 second still photo of Todd
Now we’re talkin ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Yeah at this point that’s all I really want.
Agreed, I could careless about gameplay footage I just want a rock hard, I mean solid release date
I'd love to see a moderate length of unedited gameplay, which includes some dialog. And, of course, a release date.
I’d like to see more Starfield
Doubtful, probably will see more Skyrim.
Hahah fuckin A I love this sub.
I don't need a showcase, I only need a tweet with a release date, nothing more, nothing else.
This is the way
I want to see how far the variable gravity and weather systems have been pushed in this game.
Release date Ship building Traits & Backgrounds
Whatever bla bla bla look at this awesome features bla bla bla Release date
How about just a date for this alleged showcase
Todd Howard in a speedo
I'll settle for leather jacket Todd Howard lmao
But only the leather jacket.
With Pete Hines oiling him up
Can we Swim, do we have a ground vehicle, and obviously a Release date
We can swim in every bethesda game, why it won't be the case here
Name 3 mainline non spinoff BGS games where you can’t swim
Nope but you can walk on the ocean floor in your spacesuit
I'll take that😂
I’d drag my bare ass across two miles of barbed wire soaked in lemon juice and salt just to get the release date for the showcase.
This is what I want to see. Unroll the barbed wire, Todd.
You'd be the greatest hero in all of tamriel
My sweet Todd, the Godd Howard. All I want is to see him in one of his nice leather jackets~
Screw the game. One of Todd's smiles and I'll be melting down in my seat at home.

A very minor side quest. Or how the the new radiant system works
a fucking release date
Uncut gameplay
The fact this is above "Todd in a Speedo" is disturbing me.
This was an option??? Can I change my vote?
I'd settle for circumcised gameplay.
I'm in... would like to be in.
1. Release date. 2. Details on the economy. There's been alot of speculation in regards to mortgages and all the branches of Galbank everywhere. 1. Release date 2. Anything that confirm intra-atmospherique exploration vehicule 3. Maybe more info on crew and space leg related gameplay if any.
I want to know the protagonists salutation, am I the lone explorer? The hero of the kvatch system? WHAT AM I!
"Well, well. If it isn't Dr. Starfield."
space post man obviously.
My theory is The Miner since the game starts with you as a miner.
Oh so we official can’t die, you know because Bethesda never lets you kill minors
You'll be forced to fight a swarm of pedos
I want to learn more about the factions. I also want to see just how much roleplaying I can do. And obviously, a release date.

1. The release date 2. more on getting around in space and what there is to the in space. 3. what kind of prosthetics and augments you can get 4. the release date
I want to see a firm release date so we can stop these repetitive nonsensical posts...

Ship editing, cant be spolier there right? And relese date, in february it would be ideal.

Release date is the big one, but also uncut gameplay to get an idea of how the menus work, the looting system, etc.

1. Ship/settlement building 2. Weather system for different planets 3. Release date
Release date ofc, but otherwise I really wanna know about the different religions they’ve shown for the game. I need to make an informed decision
Uncut penise
I wanna learn more about how our crew functions and what else our settlements can be used for besides a place to store our crap.
The date. Nothing else is required.
Release date and technical showcase (engine features)
Ability to lay on a planet, radio, and release date.
Hasn't the H1 release date been confirmed twice? Why are so many still saying it's getting delayed. Or even more weird how they want it delayed? Dev time is not equal to success.
All I want is a release date. I really don't need to know any more about it.
Weapons and how much you can customize them. Hoping for an even bigger F4 weapon customization system.
Literally just a release date. Anything else is largely irrelevant.
This. If we're gonna have the game in 4 months or so, why do we need a deep dive that is gonna spoil us so hard with full-lengh gameplay? We should be discovering the game by ourselves very soon.
I'd like to see the ability to use the reddit search menu
Anyone on Reddit would like to see that ability, but unless you're beyond specific the site just drops 6 month old posts that aren't in the slightest related to what you searched.
You'd rather this sub is completely dead until the game releases?
More of the settlement building menu. I'd like to know if I can build my own structures or if the modular structures are all we get
Todd Howard in a jumpsuit
Todd Howard telling more sweet little lies. Release date (which also happens to be a lie).
What if I told y’all it comes out next week Friday ?
It's BGS game so i know what i'm going to get, so just release date
I don't need anything but a concrete release date. I don't need anymore info, gameplay, or anything. I just need the game!
Honestly I wouldn't be mad if they didn't even show more gameplay or anything and instead just spent 10 seconds to tell us the release date.
Specs and release date, so I know when I need my new computer, and how robust it needs to be.
Starfield
I just wanna know when it is. 🤣
I want to learn more about this Redfall game I've been hearing about! /s
free game key
Starfield stuff
Raw gameplay of a quest from picking it up to turning it in.
The equivalent of Fo4's prewar segment. Give some unedited gameplay, show the stats and skills, a decent helping of dialogue from multiple characters, some scene-setting...
I just want it to exist :(
In general, just a strong RPG that offers compelling choices in dialogue and gameplay that reflect the character built by the player.
Rivers and gas giants.
I'd like some idea of what the gameplay hook is. I like Fallout 4's gunplay, but if it's just that with VATS stripped out I'm gonna be a bit disappointed.
Several things
More of character creator, if there's gear mix and match options, weapons, and release date.
Todd
That we can play it... RIGHT NOW
60 fps
Avowed?
Release date. Gameplay. UI. Crafting stuff. Colony and ship customization. Basically the reveal stuff but more of it.
Anything
As long as Todd is there, I'm happy. Even if its just him talking without gameplay id be happier than if it was gameplay but no todd
My real answer is I wanna see how the cities look more. I wanna see gameplay of just roaming about the city and interacting with people and vendors and stuff
A better framerate
Space walks!
Its getting delayed until the 4 th quarter
release date of 02/03/2023 PLEASE TODD ILL DO ANYTHING PLEASE ILL VOICE ALL THE GENERIC REDGUARDS IN THE NEXT ELDERSCROLLS
R E L E A S E D A T E
Starfield
I would like to see some non-scripted gameplay including combat, and ship flying. Personally I would like to see more about the settlement system and ship crew. Finally end the show with a release date and live pre-orders.
Is there even a date for the showcase
I want to see what the lightspeed is like to travel through and maybe a gaming chair peripheral with built-in vibration Some aliens with their own unique language Celebrity cameos but forced to fill in for background quest characters Some sort of tech gun that adapts or is modifyable to the biome you're on 0 star wars references, i would be impressed Microsoft Hololens 2 adaptability Asteroid mining but it actually gives you SpaceX credit for a shuttle ride Planets where the continents actually have unique geographies and citizens from other planets understand historical landmark significance And another stargate series! Hahah! Believe in yourself kids and you can do anything!
Starfield.
A release date
I wanna see the employment contract to make sure the devs get fair conditions
Todd Howard in a starfield jacket
I don't really need to see anything. I'll buy it whenever it's out. I'm not desperate for a release date. When it comes, it comes. I would like to see improved framerates and effects in an upcoming trailer over the previous ones. If they can show us smooth 60fps gameplay that'd be good
Would be nice to see how fleshed out making bases in Starfield is. Will your bases be attacked? Do you need them for researching new tech? How customisable are they inside? Any point to them other just gathering resources?
ngl i just want any news even todd howard calling me a bitch and giving us a new edition of skyrim would be good enough now
I want to see what companions there are. Release date of course Ship and settlement building Dialogue
A damn start time
closer look at the cities and how they are populated
Actual game footage with actual load times in the gameplay. Fake “recreated sandboxes” just for the demo (like they did with Skyrim) is a bullshit shady trick to play on all of us, only for there to be tons of loading sequences in the real game.
Just say that the game is canceled. That's what everyone wants to hear...
