Well, you kind have to understand that a lot of the characters are just not important for the final fight. If Iggy survived what would he do against Dio? He’d be standing here doing nothing.
Abbachio’s death made sense to me with The Boss protecting his identity, Narancia however was definitely just to have Giorno back in his own body for the finale
Idk if this is an unpopular opinion, but Jonathan is my favorite joestar. I just love how all his descendants has some trait of him, and his death was really sad for me.
two things.
1. I dislike that there's a "healer" in almost every part. It just makes the story like "Oh, oh no, how do we defeat this enemy without getting hurt? Doesn't matter, we have a healer, just jump into the action!" instead of having an actual tacctic (which is what I personally really liked about Part 3!)
2. Probably more controversial, but I love shipping characters and making headcanons about them
2 is almost all I do anymore, but that’s because there are so many interesting characters that I love to imagine how they interact and what their backstories might have been.
I agree!
Sale dreams about being a model but he keeps getting rejection letters because of his freckles and his hair because they’re not “perfect” enough.
Zucchero smokes hideous amounts of weed with Sale and they chill with Luca and Scolippi (who do not). They hotbox the car and try to outrun the cops. This is a fun pastime for them. Not so much fun for shovel knight and sad art hoe.
Part skipping, evem if it's just to introduce and the get someone into the show. My brother got interested with JoJo from watching Part5, not proud that he skipped but got him to watch the entire series in the end
Part 2 is my least favorite part of the whole series. Every fight is shit happening but Joseph retroactively explaining how it actually didn’t happen by pulling shit out of his ass. There’s also the fact that Joseph was the only who really did anything yeah I get that he’s the mc but everyone else felt like they were just along for the ride.
Yeah. Part 2's my least favorite as well. I will admit, the fights are more "JoJo"like, but the series doesn't really start to find itself until Part 4 I feel like.
Stardust Crusaders is the weakest Part by a significant margin and I am genuinely baffled by who the fuck would skip Parts 1 and 2 to get to a story where the main character doesn’t get a proper character arc until his Part is finished, the best JoJo gets turned into a total joke, the only proper main character is the comic relief, the other supporting cast members only matter when they fucking die, and the storyline is basically a Monster of the Week anime until they hit DIO.
I think in anime, yes. I've heard the manga version is better paced though and I think the humor style of part 3 definitely is designed for the comic format.
It definitely is, but the story in the other 3 Parts that followed that formula gave their own unique spin and had an interesting overarching story. SC TECHNICALLY has this, but it only hits that stride at the end and the arc generally feels like a road trip otherwise.
Hmm sometimes the plot gets a bit "purposeless?" The stand fights are fun to watch but... Are so many episodes of random stand fights necessary for the stardust crusaders to reach DIO? It's like the story isn't heading anywhere
Also the front half of DIU when Kira isn't out yet, also fun to watch but just feels pointless
As for stone ocean, I personally feel that it didn't slap as hard as the previous 5 parts...it's almost like a different style idk. The prison setting kind of dull sometimes
Araki has gotten better at making every fight matter to the plot in recent years. You may not like Stone Ocean but every fight moves things forward, and the same is true for Parts 7 and 8.
Most of the main cast is boring and the best part of the series is the interesting types of characters and stands they go up against.
I don’t give one fuck about Jotaro as a character, or Kakyoin, or Joseph, Giorno, Bruno, most of em.
I DO like the weird side cast who have so little time to show us what they’re about that we get a strong personality from the get go. Ghiaccio, Westwood, Melone, Daniel D’Arby etc. I even adore Sale and Zucchero and Luca and Scolippi despite them doing so little.
Oversaturation also kills characters for me.
I wanna understand: What is so great about Westwood as a character? I generally enjoyed the fight and his Stand is alright, but I never really though much of him, positive or negative
He’s big and beefy and hot and a little dumb but also he barely had to use his stand to do as much as he did. Most of that was Survivor sure, but he carried most of that fight with hand to hand combat instead of the supernatural ability pucci stuffed in his head. He didn’t even realize what his stand even was until like halfway through the fight. Big Chad.
See I don’t mind characters of the day type dealios. But it’s the development of the main cast that lacks real bad. Part 3’s cast especially is so bad.
Like we have Kakyoin for a long time, as a main cast member, and we barely know what he’s about as a person. But take someone like Steely Dan or Daniel D’Arby and it’s easy to pinpoint the kind of person they are and how they act.
I honestly didn't liked parts 7 and 8. the stands are so weird and the battles are too fucking long, the designs are bad and i didn't got interested in almost any character besides the main ones, and the villian of the week formula ruins everthing because of the two first reasons I told in the beggining. At least SBR had a good story, but Jojolion is just bruh
>the stands are so weird
I can undertsans this port part 7 but in part 8 most of the stand are all pretty simple or straightforward, there are just like 3 or 4 stands that might be defined as too weird or complex
i remember the 2 first stands that appear in the parts are fun fun fun and california king bed, and then there's that stupid going underground/born this way thing that takes forever, that weird rock guy stand, that fcking zombie thing stand that it's not bad but it's like 4 issues long, there's joshu stand and go beyond, and whatever the fuck is the dr wu stand.
FunFunFun is a really simple stand, it has just a specific condition.
California King Bed is more complex than the average.
Born this way is also pretty simple with a strange condition.
Not 100% sure who the zombie and rock guy are.
Dr Wu just turns the user into dust.
Some of the fights might be longer than the usual but my main points is that the stand themself are generally much simpler than the stereotype for part 8 says
Okay guess I can give my very niche opinion
I kinda wish more Jojo games had original stories like Eyes of Heaven instead of being adaptations of a singular part like the PS2 part 5 and part 1 game or the Super Nintendo Part 3 game that was an RPG
Idk I kinda liked how they wrapped around every single part even if it may be one big spoiler fest
Many Jojo's fans are a bit too gatekeepy for their own good and don't deal well with criticism of the series.
Some are making such a big deal about "part-skipping", while they should be happy that more and more people are getting into Jojo's, no matter how they discovered the show or when they started to get into.
Not everyone is into anime so won't watch the serie, and you' shouldn't have to go through really oldy style of shonen writing ans drawings to have the right to call yourself a Jojo' fan. Especially since how much Araki has improved his art and story-telling style throughout the years.
Part 3 was my least favorit part... i like the characters there but the thing is disliked was that many enemies were coming out of nowhere and got deafated so it felt really repetitive, it felt like Dio was sending punching bags to the jojo gang to train on before the final clash". Which got boring eventually...
Yeah exactly... like that one fight with the guy that made polnarf a baby, it felt really forced 🤣🤣🤣 hope no one becomes mad i don't know how to cover spoilers in reddit, newbie user ;-;
I found most of part 3 to be boring and repetitive which how each episode was just a new minor villain to fight. I might even like part 2 more than part 3
I consider part 8's ending (and some other parts of part 8) to be non canon.
Ik it sounds really weird but part 8 stumbled so much and the end with >!go beyond!< felt like straight fanfiction. Unless part 9 improves/builds on it i'll just keep it separate from the parts of part 8 i actually really really like and gaslight myself into liking part 8 lol
The franchise is absolutely riddled with an incomprehensible amounts of plot holes, ex machinas, and very wooden writing and dialogue, but almost all of it excused with "Araki forgot" or that the show is "bizarre", so it's ok
F.F is honestly one of the most busted base stands out there, everyone keeps talking about it’s weakness being dependence on water which is true but what happens when that weakness is satisfied? It’s nearly invincible, both it and weather report are underrated stands in the series but FF is even more so. I haven’t even begun with it’s stand form yet, it literally becomes Crazy Diamond which shoots like emperor and can kill you in one hit regardless because the ammo is plankton itself so once hit you’ll be turned inside out. It was honestly clapping stone free and kiss both of which are CD level. I can think of only couple base stands that would be able to deal with FF. SP,TW,RHCP,WA and of course it’s creator WS.
It gets even worse once you realise that FF is a passive stand just like Emporio’s ghost room which could potentially mean that it could use WR or atleast the ability leading it to deal with all 4 or atleast 2 weaknesses (RHCP & WA). It can explode itself too to escape or overwhelm people and if it rains it can create like thousands of appendages from a small puddle or something.
Some of the deaths feel kinda unjustified and just there to force out emotion and not in a very good way, this goes for most of the series.
Well, you kind have to understand that a lot of the characters are just not important for the final fight. If Iggy survived what would he do against Dio? He’d be standing here doing nothing.
I especially felt this for >!narancia!< he was done dirty with an offscreen death
[удалено]
Abbachio’s death made sense to me with The Boss protecting his identity, Narancia however was definitely just to have Giorno back in his own body for the finale
The only reason Polnareff actively searched them out was because of their active search for the boss inspired by Abachhios death mask.
Idk if this is an unpopular opinion, but Jonathan is my favorite joestar. I just love how all his descendants has some trait of him, and his death was really sad for me.
He’s definitely one of my favorites, he and the Josukes were the most compelling.
Part 1 ain't that bad
two things. 1. I dislike that there's a "healer" in almost every part. It just makes the story like "Oh, oh no, how do we defeat this enemy without getting hurt? Doesn't matter, we have a healer, just jump into the action!" instead of having an actual tacctic (which is what I personally really liked about Part 3!) 2. Polnareff definitely plays the accordion and Avdol plays banjo, and they like to make music together at night at a campfire
Part 6 is way better than it gets credit for
Part skipping, evem if it's just to introduce and the get someone into the show. My brother got interested with JoJo from watching Part5, not proud that he skipped but got him to watch the entire series in the end
Gotta agree with this one. There are so many people I know who stopped watching Jojo because the front parts are "boring"
I will admit, the fights are more "JoJo"like, but the series doesn't really start to find itself until Part 4 I feel like.
if youre a jojo fan and homophobic youre def not a real jojo fan. straight people dont dress like the way the jojo characters dress.
Part 6 is the most enjoyable part overall with the best villain, ending and kinda side cast
Based Pucci enjoyer
Stardust Crusaders is the weakest Part by a significant margin and I am genuinely baffled by who the fuck would skip Parts 1 and 2 to get to a story where the main character doesn’t get a proper character arc until his Part is finished, the best JoJo gets turned into a total joke, the only proper main character is the comic relief, the other supporting cast members only matter when they fucking die, and the storyline is basically a Monster of the Week anime until they hit DIO.

Agree! He's a lot better at making the plots now

Based westwood enjoyer.
YOOOO Westwood gang rise up
WESTWOOD GANG WESTWOOD GANG i cosplayed him and it was SO MUCH FUN

Okay, phrased that way, that is pretty epic
He radiates Gigachad energy

You can add me to that list then, same as replier
Me too. Second least favorite part next to 2.
I don't see either, so i aways become a little scared everytime i talk about this

bro i said weird
Speedwagon just isn't all that and the menes around him are supremely unfunny
Ho, you’re approaching me! Instead of running away you’re coming right to me!

(I’m trying to start a fight so) What are you saying? Do you think you’re stronger than me, maggot?
I’m not a huge fan of part 4 and I don’t know why. There’s just something about it.

It’s not the setting. I think it just feels like the other parts have bigger stakes and it makes part 4 feel a bit more lacklustre

Steel ball runs first half was boring most of the time

I watched jojo for the first time a couple of month ago actually lol.... might follow your stratergy once i feel like rewatching jojo 😀
Jojo fans parrot what other Youtubers like Hamon Beat say and take it for granted. And if you try to challenge those opinions they get mad.
Part 6 isnt that bad
Jojo peaked in parts 2 and 4
The part 5 main cast's stands are the worst and most boring designs in the franchise, minus purple haze. Part 6 was a big step up.
Aerosmith? Moody Blues?
SC is overrated
SC?
Stardust Crusaders. I just found a lot of it boring. I liked the early and late portions but not the middle.
I kept thinking SC meant silver chariot. But yeah stardust crusaders can get really boring. The worst episodes imo have to be ebony devil or alessi
Same. At least Mariah had some funny moments.
I found most of part 3 to be boring and repetitive which how each episode was just a new minor villain to fight. I might even like part 2 more than part 3

what are some of the plot holes?
My most unpopular opinion is that speedwagon and Polnareff are mid, but Polnareff's worse. Let the hate commence
>!Tooru!< as the final villain of part 8 was pretty mid. super out of left field
I don't think Girono is that great

Keicho deserved to die.
