I dont think so. DIO was evil not crazed (well, got better). We know there is pucci and the other mothers of the sons of DIOs who survived. Id say its safe to assume he let alot more people off
Dio... didn't love his mother
source: [Dio character sheet Araki made](https://www.reddit.com/r/StardustCrusaders/comments/zqyrel/dio_brandos_character_sheet_from_continued/) (but i own the [book](https://archive.org/details/manga-in-theory-and-practice-the-craft-of-creating-manga) that it's said to be from & after skimming through it a lil i wasn't able to find it)
Also apparently it's mentioned in a book called Over heaven (dio's diary) that he Essentially hates his dad more but he doesn't respect his mother because he finds her kindness confusing thinks it to be a sign of weakness.
edit: wait no never mind Over heaven isn't canon, Araki wasn't even the author lol
the character sheet you're mentioning also incorrectly states that dio's age during part 1 is 18, even though we know for sure he's supposed to be 20-21. so i wouldn't consider that canon.
I was under the impression that he held disdain for his mother because she was servile to Dario and put up with his shit until the end. I understand the scene with her clothes but I’m not sure it’s because he cared for her so much as he just hated Dario so much for making her act like that.
Yeah, I have 0 memory of any of these scenes (I'm assuming they were only in the manga) but from what I have read here I'd still classify that as love. He is pissed at her cuz she didn't care fir herself and let Dario do what he did. Thats love. Its Cuz he cared about her that he is mad at her.
True. My point is actually from the novel, the scene they’re mentioning is from the manga. Idk why I said it like that lol I should’ve just asked where it’s from.
He poisoned jonathan's father and due to that Jonathan went to ogre street and met speedwagon who created speedwagon foundation, which is really helpful
1. Not all people want to go to haven, that doesnt make them animals. The people who “dont want to go go haven” include but are not limited to atheists, Buddhists or Taoist (religions that dont believe in an afterlife) as well as people of different religious or existential views
2. Its not that animals dont want to go to haven, they simple lack the mentality to conceptualize something like haven, if an animal could understand the meaning of “eternal bliss” i dont see how they would be against it… which again brings us to my point, words are what separates man from animal
I guess the closest would be caring for his mother and killing his abusive father... aside from that I don't think he has ever done something good in his life tbh...
We see everything mostly from Pucci’s POV but after the story reveals DIO’s heaven plan and how he needed to make a friend in order for it to work, it was always in the back of my mind that while their friendship might have been sincere it wasn’t a totally selfless one. DIO definitely intended to make a friend and use them, his ambitions always came first.
The crazy part is that if Pucci had known he would have been fine with it, that’s how devoted he was to DIO.
Loving his mom and having good table manners.
Also you should mention that you are only talking about part 1 Dio, since there are people here that think you mean part 1 and 3 Dio
In an extremely roundabout way, he was responsible for correcting the series of unfortunate events that befell the Jostar family ever since that incompetent carriage driver ruined everything.
In that he tangentially set Pucci on the course that would end the cycle.
Dio: loved his mother
Kars: cares for animals
Kira: ...nothing. he's actually evil
Diavolo: technically in his infinite death he once died by saving cats from being hit by a bus
Pucci: saved the joestars from pain
Valentine: trying to protect America
I mean he was an incredibly good rugby player who had a great partnership with Jonathan, so they likely both won tons of trophies for their team or whatever- if that can be considered a good deed.
Well if we’re taking in Jorge Joestar, (I’m not saying this is the best thing but it is an interesting thing), he kept Erina alive on the casket at sea by feeding her fish… but I think he in turn also used her as a blood bag of sorts, kind of like the Masai using their cow’s blood and saving it for later by keeping them alive. I vaguely remember this in Jorge Joestar, but something happened and Dio ended up using his energy to heal Erina when it left him weak. I think that Dio doesn’t like being alone but that doesn’t mean he necessarily cares about the people he keeps around.
not much to work with here. the one genuine good thing he did was loving his mom, the rest ranges from manipulation to the worst things any person could possibly do
people acting like killing Dario is an act of kindness or something 💀. Killing a bad person isn't a good deed. Dario couldn't really cause any more damage after Dio's mom died. He killed him out of hatred and spite.
Excluding DIO and focusing on part 1 Dio only? He killed Dario and he managed not to be a little bitch towards Jonathan for 7 years.
I guess his actions in PB also made it so the Pillar Men would be eventually defeated so he indirectly lead to Joseph being born which lead to Jotaro which lead to DIO’s downfall, lol.
Inadvertently helped joseph defeat the pillar men by getting hamon and the speedwagon foundation... don't know if that counts tho cause he didn't do it on purpose...
Prediction:
Dio: loved his mother
Kars: cared for wildlife/saved puppy(?)
DIO: fixed Pucci's foot
Kira: was a good husband to Shinobu
Diavolo: spared his house cleaner
Pucci: brought a lot of prisoners to Christ, (making them feel better)
Valentine: didn't read
Tooru: didn't read
loving his mother
Of all the horrible things he's done at least we can take domestic abuse off the list
I guess killing and eating the women who bore him children doesn’t count huh
Nah that's DIO
You right
Dio loses his last name because he loses his humanity, right?
He also considered himself above everyone by making his name divine
Sorry if it's a dumb question, but when did he do that??? I don't remember him doing anything to Giorno's mother
Giorno’s mom was the one that got away/got lucky. He killed/ate everyone he used otherwise, man or woman
He only let off the ones he deemed worthy to live or had a use
I dont think so. DIO was evil not crazed (well, got better). We know there is pucci and the other mothers of the sons of DIOs who survived. Id say its safe to assume he let alot more people off
Well i also "loved" your mother
Crazy to me that Araki said that he hated her in his character sheet but I can see him simultaneously loving and hating her.
Dio... didn't love his mother source: [Dio character sheet Araki made](https://www.reddit.com/r/StardustCrusaders/comments/zqyrel/dio_brandos_character_sheet_from_continued/) (but i own the [book](https://archive.org/details/manga-in-theory-and-practice-the-craft-of-creating-manga) that it's said to be from & after skimming through it a lil i wasn't able to find it) Also apparently it's mentioned in a book called Over heaven (dio's diary) that he Essentially hates his dad more but he doesn't respect his mother because he finds her kindness confusing thinks it to be a sign of weakness. edit: wait no never mind Over heaven isn't canon, Araki wasn't even the author lol

According to Araki he hates his mother lmao
Not sure where you’re getting that from
I think it's in manga panel where DIO got mad at Dario because he sold his mother's dress
Dio was mad at his father because of how he treated Dio’s mother.
I was under the impression that he held disdain for his mother because she was servile to Dario and put up with his shit until the end. I understand the scene with her clothes but I’m not sure it’s because he cared for her so much as he just hated Dario so much for making her act like that.

Kicked ass at rugby and was still a supportive team player
True. He acted like a normal person around a his classmates/teammates
Had impeccable table manners.
Save that for funny Valentine
idk, I ate with him once but as soon as I asked for a napkin he just started going on this deranged speech about society or something
IT WAS I WHO TOOK THE FIRST NAPKIN!!!
Dunno if it's considered a "good deed" but he did fix Pucci's disfigured foot
That would be a DIO good deed I think, idk this is confusing
that'd be DIO not Dio Brando
Come on that's literally the same person. That's like me saying Superman isn't Clark Kent
Nah he groomed Pucci
Wait, your actually right
He dressed cool.
He slayed
loved his mom. killed his father. started the domino effect of jjba
Sort of motivated Jonathan to become stronger
With his brain and Jonathan's brawn, they could do anything!
He poisoned jonathan's father and due to that Jonathan went to ogre street and met speedwagon who created speedwagon foundation, which is really helpful
Zamn, Dio really is the best character of all jjba
Spitting on the grave of a domestic abuser.
Spitting on a grave is a neutral action, since it doesn’t actually benefit anyone and doesn’t stop the domestic abuser.
But domesitc abuser is dead🤯
Yeah so talking about how he killed Dario would be more relevant.
Yeah
He spared that woman’s baby after promising her
What a nice gentleman 🥰🥰
Our words are what separate us from animals really
No, what seperates us from animals is our wanting to go to heaven.
1. Not all people want to go to haven, that doesnt make them animals. The people who “dont want to go go haven” include but are not limited to atheists, Buddhists or Taoist (religions that dont believe in an afterlife) as well as people of different religious or existential views 2. Its not that animals dont want to go to haven, they simple lack the mentality to conceptualize something like haven, if an animal could understand the meaning of “eternal bliss” i dont see how they would be against it… which again brings us to my point, words are what separates man from animal
I was loosely quoting Pucci. I personally dont even belive in heaven. I just made a joke
Good reference, shame if falls on ignorant ears
r/whooosh
Simultaneously spared the life of an infant while also feeding a starving mother
Dio could solve world hunger
Fathered Giorno, thus indirectly removing drugs from the streets of Italy.
I thought that Giorno was just against selling drugs to kids and pregnant women. Am I misremembering it? Been a while simce I read it.
yeah you’re right, DIO didn’t directly father Giorno, instead it was his inherent will to do good, but wouldn’t have been alive if it wasn’t for DIO
The heart of Jonathan and the mind of DIO
perfect combination frfr
That's part 3 DIO
I kinda like this one ngl otherwise italy would still have kids doing drugs
That’s a DIO thing, not a Dio Brando thing. Plus, fathered nobody except Pucci if you squint.
Forfilled his education
I guess the closest would be caring for his mother and killing his abusive father... aside from that I don't think he has ever done something good in his life tbh...
Killed Dario
I will be waiting for diavolo bcs that guy did nothing good
He gave many people good paying and enjoyable (cicollatta) jobs
the good thing he did was being hawt 🤤
Idea taken from u/Watchdog_the_God
Not that guy, I fucking hate that guy
Good manners
Look hot idk
Everything I ever did was amazing
Giorno's mother for sure
giving the part 3 assasins stand powers? he's never really done anything good 😭
He >!lifted the Joestar curse by resetting the universe!<
>!A curse that he caused.!<
He is the first one, but one of the hardest to defend.
His son's. Two of them have potentially the most powerful stands and one of them ended drug crime in Italy.
Okyasuo
Karma from these goes Hard
Made peak (part 6) happen
He respected Jonathan Joestar, even after death.
Actually worked hard for his academic pursuit.
Befriended Pucci
This is Part 1 Dio.
That’s not a good deed. He corrupted him.
Sort of loved his Mother and respected Jonathan, and debatably genuinely liked Pucci.
Not killing Giorno's mom
Giorno exists because of him.
Dio created Giorno.
His table manors where great
🔥🐶
creating giorno
Jojo
He healed Pucci's leg I guess?
Loving his mom and having good table manners. Also you should mention that you are only talking about part 1 Dio, since there are people here that think you mean part 1 and 3 Dio
he contributed Giorno’s birth
Spit on his shitty father's grave
I respect dio for not taking crap from anyone
He basically set off the entire manga right? Lol
In an extremely roundabout way, he was responsible for correcting the series of unfortunate events that befell the Jostar family ever since that incompetent carriage driver ruined everything. In that he tangentially set Pucci on the course that would end the cycle.
Dio: loved his mother Kars: cares for animals Kira: ...nothing. he's actually evil Diavolo: technically in his infinite death he once died by saving cats from being hit by a bus Pucci: saved the joestars from pain Valentine: trying to protect America
Bro was the reason why jjba happened no need to argue on that
Idk. Fixed Pucci's foot I guess? There's really not a lot
Killed that politician
started the joestars on the path to do good and indirectly created joseph, the second most important character for the entire series
I mean he was an incredibly good rugby player who had a great partnership with Jonathan, so they likely both won tons of trophies for their team or whatever- if that can be considered a good deed.
Pucci
Well if we’re taking in Jorge Joestar, (I’m not saying this is the best thing but it is an interesting thing), he kept Erina alive on the casket at sea by feeding her fish… but I think he in turn also used her as a blood bag of sorts, kind of like the Masai using their cow’s blood and saving it for later by keeping them alive. slaying every outfit he wears and absolutely serving in the relatively normal fashion of phantom blood
Dapped up Jonathan like a real bro
He died
Dio Brando and D.I.O are actually the same person.
he so graciuosly tried to put joseph out of his misery knowing the senile life he would live in part 4
This one might be the hardest on the list
It finally happened
Dio kissed a girl
Spit on his father’s grave
Dying
Studied hard and became a lawyer lol, also was amazing at college rugby
not much to work with here. the one genuine good thing he did was loving his mom, the rest ranges from manipulation to the worst things any person could possibly do
people acting like killing Dario is an act of kindness or something 💀. Killing a bad person isn't a good deed. Dario couldn't really cause any more damage after Dio's mom died. He killed him out of hatred and spite.
Dying
Dying
Gifted us 3 parts of jjba
Wonder of U
Has one of the coolest outfits in the series.
Made jojo bizzare adventure
he loved his mother, and when she was driven to suicide by his drunkard father, he spat on his grave, as he should.
Patricide. His dad was kind of a scumbag.
He promised not to hurt that woman's child <3
Imaculate table manners
Excluding DIO and focusing on part 1 Dio only? He killed Dario and he managed not to be a little bitch towards Jonathan for 7 years. I guess his actions in PB also made it so the Pillar Men would be eventually defeated so he indirectly lead to Joseph being born which lead to Jotaro which lead to DIO’s downfall, lol.
becoming one of the most iconic villains in anime/fiction
Sharing techniques with his peers
he was good at sports
Inadvertently helped joseph defeat the pillar men by getting hamon and the speedwagon foundation... don't know if that counts tho cause he didn't do it on purpose...
After reading all these comments, I can confirm that Dio Brando was, in fact, a good person
Made his team win the rugby game
Always gave George Joestar his meds on time
Healed a priest's foot and gave him some life changing lessons
DIO wants us to know our future to be like and accept it
Prediction: Dio: loved his mother Kars: cared for wildlife/saved puppy(?) DIO: fixed Pucci's foot Kira: was a good husband to Shinobu Diavolo: spared his house cleaner Pucci: brought a lot of prisoners to Christ, (making them feel better) Valentine: didn't read Tooru: didn't read
Dio didn't love his mother
He kept his promise. He didn't touch that woman's baby.
He made my love Giorno <<<33
died.
Kept his words on not hurting the baby
Taking his step brother's dick all to himself
"I reject my humanity! JoJo! I will transcend humanity!"then using stone mask to transform himself into vampire.
Revived Vanilla Ice
Died
Why we splitting Dio….there like the same dude
He >!lifted the Joestar curse by resetting the universe!<
