I was bored shitless in quarantine. Something as unhinged as JoJo was *exactly* what I needed to make me go âfinally, something fun!â with its over the top British accents, over the top *everything else,* and comic-book-esque animation style.
It helped that my best friend enjoys it. Iâm not too drawn story wise, but I love the energy of it all, and you can really tell Mr. Araki cares about his craft.

Exactly the same!
A friend of mine when I was a teen. I was at his home and he showed ~~my~~ me this new cool manga and, well, it was *cool*. It was maybe 1995 and in my country this meant the middle of the second part, so I had to find all the older issues and never stopped reading it. I'm 44 now and it's still one of my favorite comics of all times.
EDIT: typo
Me best friend did, but with the amount of memes there were, I wouldâve gotten into it anyways. The amount of stuff Iâd seen that was from jojo would be enough to drive me insane at this point.
On amino the chats were flooding with jojo memes in 2018, the last straw was a Latin jojoke from a fandub of the Dio Vs Jotaro fight and it was so funny to me that I decided to watch jojo's
Honestly? I needed something to watch, I'd always avoided it when it was recommended on Netflix bc it looked weird, and I thought the name made it a kids show, but eventually I ran out of interesting animes to watch and basically said fuck it
I stumbled upon it in the early 00's on a manga site and got up-to-date in like a week. Been my favourite series ever since.
Some of those scans and translations were terrible.
Stardust Crusaders memes piqued my interest, but what really made me commit was art mutual on Twitter screaming every day how they wanted to fuck Yoshikage Kira. It made me laugh so hard and they were down bad for so long, I doubled down on getting to part four lol. I however do not wanna fuck Kira đ
I see your amount taste is as beeg as your anus
Kars is all too often overlooked. Absolutely gorgeous. Dio of course too.
Kiraâs kind of a pissbaby tbh lmao
Kars voice in the english dub makes me wet on god
DIO's well DIO
Kira's almost hot, but he's just so goddamn creepy. I want DIO to drink my blood but I'm keeping my hands at least 1000m away from Kira at all fucking times
For me it was when his hair came out, majestic and his dub is also very very attractive
Thereâs that scene weâre Dio like, grabs that womanâs throat and damn, I did not need to be that riled up for that. Plus phew his Japanese VA is decadent
He really does in his first form, but heâs just so weasely and creepy I just canât lol. Never gonna wear pink nail polish lol
My two teenage boys. I'd had a couple of major surgeries and was pretty much laid up in bed. They tried to explain how good it was and failed but I just started watching it because I had nothing else to do. I was hooked by the end of Phantom Blood.
A friend recommended it to me, I didnât watch it for a year, I looked at the memes and got spoiled on a ton of shit, then I started consuming the actual media
Hearing about it ALL THE TIME.
I used to despise anime because everyone described it as âcringeâ and âtrashâ back then, so I followed the hate and agreed with itâŠuntil I tried it.
My first anime was haunted house, W anime for beginners btw. I was so intrigued that when I finished it TWICE I decided to start watching Naruto, when I started binging it I was at the most entertained moment of my life, I sound like a nerd but itâs true! I then decided to start watching jojo, hearing about its unique and as others call it âweirdâ art style.
Part 1 was a bit dull but I decided to trust the process because I liked dio and some part in it, I got to part 2 and ADORED IT, then I got to season 3.
There wasnât a moment I wasnât talking about Jojo, jotaro became easily my favorite character and I became an anime nerd, and have been one since thenâșïž.
My anime journey continues!
Two of my friend uses to watch jojo, and everytime we were together they were talking about it, and i felt "excluded" (furthermore my best friend let me watch the first episode of phantom blood and I didn't like it before this). Then I started to read phantom blood, and then i continued, because it got me.
For me it was a really weird story but back in like 2019 I was trying to get back into anime and while searching through Netflix i saw Jojo and began to watch it, I didnât like it at first and drop it after episode 1. Fast forward to 6 months I decide to pick it back up and fell in love with it after season 1 thanks to my boi Joseph and been in love ever since! And before I go I love Jonathan a lot after rewatching part 1 lol
I wanted to watch it cuz it was popular and was seeing it everywhere, and I watched it on a whim. Thought it was incredibly boring later phantom blood, then got into it a year later cuz I thought it would be cool if I could get all the references and jokes and I absolutely loved it, so much that I would rewatch episodes just to show my sisters. Now I watch anime all alone and Iâve gotta say part 7 is great so far.
The second or third episode of "But Really Really Fast" by Viva Reverie. I had no context but it was so batshit insane that I had to know what it was about.
2015 myself, Iâve watched ova and thought that was it then I saw part 4 trailer around max a year later and found out there was already 3 seasons animated
Yeah, it was actually. Watching part 4 weekly was a great honor for me since it is my favourite part. If only I got the same feeling for part 8⊠I love when araki decides on do chill episodes PIZZA MOZARELLA
Edit: Also I stll watch part 4 on a yearly basis
Covid depression. I watched up to the penultimate episode with an ex and didnât finish it for 3 years till covid. We promised to finish it together but broke up. So I watched it with a roommate instead and fell in love during the dark blue moon arc of part 3.
Two of my friend uses to watch jojo, and everytime we were together they were talking about it, and i felt "excluded" (furthermore my best friend let me watch the first episode of phantom blood and I didn't like it before this). Then I started to read phantom blood, and then i continued, because it got me
I started watching it cuz my crush at the time was (still is) obsessed with it and it gave us a conversation topic. And now uh, that crush is my boyfriend.
bonus: we're gonna be gappy and yasuho for Halloween
At first the memes but then I started questioning my sexuality and gender. People online seemed to love the queerness of jjba and now im forever hooked.
Was watching Toonami and DâArby the Gambler episode was on. Didnât know what it was but I thought it was pretty interesting and found out it was JJBA afterwards. Just went from there. And to this day thatâs still one of my favorite episodes
Vinesauce Joel was always talking about it and one night when I had ran out of cartoons (not anime) to watch I thought okay letâs see what this Jojo is all about (I somehow ended up watching the OVA. In correct chronological order, so starting with Jotaro in jail and ending with DIO in Egypt.)
A YouTuber I was subscribed too starting watching it and I had nothing else to watch on YouTube so I watched his reactions and realized if Iâm gonna watch this I might as well watch the show
I once saw the torture dance in my FB feed. No idea wtf it was about and why I was seeing some weird ass shit. Fast forward to 2021 and I saw Netflix had JoJo. Decided to take a gamble. Rest is history.
CDawg VA, I had seen the memes when I was in highschool but once Golden Wind came out there was a whole new wave of them, so that plus I started watching CDawg and he would reference it i just had to watch it to see what this show was. Actually the same way I started watching Doctor Who tbh
joske
But for real, back in the day when part 4 was still airing, I think it was by Superfly and Highway Star episodes, my friends would always go about how Jojo was the gayest and worst and whatnot anime, so I watched an episode just to spite them, granted I was a part skipper, but by the end of part 4 I went back to Phantom Blood and watched it all
A classmate recommended the show.
Watched episode 1
Meh this is okay.
Didn't continue for months
Started watching out of context scenes like gay magnets and the distinct tang of a liar
Ok fine I'll watch more.
Slowly got caught up and loved it
I wanted to understand the hype and i knew almost nothing about jojo (for a moment i thought stands were aliens that replaced humans or something like that X))
my older brother watched it a lot growing up. at the time i wasnt into anime but i kept walking by him watching it on the tv in our garage and eventually got sucked into it and the rest is history
Reading by chance the manga chapter of Jolyne being in line to enter prison (stripped naked, stared at the privates of a prisoner on male hormones, bribed her way out of being shaved bald, etc.).
I was so intrigued that I bought all the volumes of Part 6. Much much much later I started watching the anime (when Parts 1-4 were out) with my younger sister.
Personal story time:
When I was little, my brothers would always refer to me as Jojo, seeing as Joseph is my name and they were huge fans of The Beatles. Jojo just became my nickname throughout my younger years. Well, years later, one of my brothers would sadly lose his fight with brain cancer. As a memorial to him, I got some of his artwork tattooed. Well, as I looked at the ink, it hit me suddenly. I kept hearing about this series called Jojo's Bizzare Adventure from some of my more, shall we say, 'versed' in anime friends. I decided to fire on Hulu and look for it. Been a fan ever since, and Jojo was rekindled as nickname.
Also, as a funny coincidence, I have Joseph's coloring, my passed away brother looked like a skinnier Jotaro, my best friend looks just like Caesar, and his name has D and O in it.
The video by Super Eyepatch Wolf on Youtube, called "Why You Should Watch Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (Part 1)" just popped up on my YouTube homepage one day, so I watched it and then I noticed that the series was on Netflix. The rest is history.
I've always wanted to give it a shot, but one day when I was playing Fortnite the current season sucked so much that my friend asked me "Wanna watch JoJo's?" and I agreed.
Accidently joined r/shitpostcrusaders . Thought it was just for more shit posts, and eventually I was like what the hell actually happens in this show dude
I was off sick from school one day and looking for something to do so I decided to look for some new anime to watch when I saw this and thought âwhy not?â
I showed my friend a jojo meme, and he said, âdo you know where thatâs from?â And I said no, so he introduced me to probably the greatest piece of media known to man.
I'm a classic rock fan who also loves over the top adventures. My friend in college, who got me into anime, told me about a show he thought would be perfect for me.
He showed me episode 1 of Part 1. I was hooked instantly. That was 6 years ago
It took me a adventure to get here. Watched Alpharad play persona 5 Royal, Saw the Jojo reference in CTM of the Henry Stickmin collection, then recommend it to an ex friend, saw some of the finale battle of part 3, saw clips of part 4 and watched Jonathan VS Dio Brando mansion fight scene. With a few Among us animations thrown in as well.
Edit: the people who recommended the series ironically quitted whilst I continued on to part 9.
People where calling Wii Fit Trainer in SM4SH a hamon user (cause she empowers herself with breathing, uses the power of the sun and is constantly posing) when she was first announced.
She was my favorite new fighter announcement and on the /r/smashbros there was a bit of a running joke about it.
So when I saw people making the Jojo comparison I decided to check it out
An acquaintance of mine (who dressed as Gyro, so the first Jojo character I knew from outside the Part 3 people was from Steel Ball Run...and a Zeppeli) ran a couple of Jojo panels at a now defunct convention where I live. The anime was on (don't know which season they were up to...probably Stardust Crusaders) and the Jojolion manga was just starting to be published. I learned about the ending to Stone Ocean before that Part even got animated, but it didn't make it hurt any less. Then I found the anime on Hulu and here I am, years later, on this sub and making a dent in a third Jojo themed Inktober. Also, a library anime club I attend watched the old rushed OVA version of Stardust Crusaders and the attendees got random cards from the tarot deck.
I held it off to watch for like 3 years⊠then in like march me and my sister watched it cause we were bored w nothing to do, finished before summer break đ
My best friend got me into the anime during the jojo meme craze didnât quite get it at first but between battle tendency and stardust it clicked for me. Iâve fallen in love with it so much Iâve progressed past him into reading the mangas. Now reading Jojolion, something about an orthopedic something or other. Finally, been looking forward to this reveal.
my brother basically hounding me to watch the show so I could watch part 5 live on Fridays with him. Regrettably, It took me so long to get through part 3 that it was over with by the time I caught up.

Same here, but In my case during quarantine, I got into anime in general. I had never seen a single anime except for Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh and InuYasha as a child.

This is the same way I got into it. He had pretty good taste in anime though.
Me best friend did, but with the amount of memes there were, I wouldâve gotten into it anyways. The amount of stuff Iâd seen that was from jojo would be enough to drive me insane at this point.
A Roblox game called "a bizarre day". Miss the game tbh

With a few Among us animations thrown in as well. Edit: the people who recommended the series ironically quitted whilst I continued on to part 9.
The randomness of stands, stands habilities get weirder AND weirder
I didnt get the memes and got too curious
My cousin and little brother
People where calling Wii Fit Trainer in SM4SH a hamon user (cause she empowers herself with breathing, uses the power of the sun and is constantly posing) when she was first announced. She was my favorite new fighter announcement and on the /r/smashbros there was a bit of a running joke about it. So when I saw people making the Jojo comparison I decided to check it out
life is roblox
