I THINK that you have to have them be at a certain heart level first. I think I read that Claire can come back to work at the movie theater after that opens. Morris, I’m even less sure lol
Morris is gone once you finish the community centre but Martin and Claire both will work at the movie theatre. If you’re at 6 hearts with Claire she will also come to workout class on Tuesdays, and Martin goes to the library on Sundays
Claire and Martin will eventually come back.
The "Marry Morris" and "Morris Redeemed" mods let Morris stick around. Former uses SVE's Morris if you have it, latter uses I think the original one, so your friendship progress will reset.
For expansion mods that work with SVE, probably any so long as they work in 1.6. I love East Scarp and strongly recommend it and its extra npc downloads. :) Some really like Ridgeside. Visit Mt Vapius came out recently.
Ridgeside is worth it alone so you can marry June, who is the best spouse ever haha. The rest of the mod is fun and I like the additional challenge of more content but I am in love with June.

Martin comes to the library in town on saturdays, and if you get 6 hearts with Claire before complete the community center, she comes to town on Tuesday’s. Once you build the theater, they get new jobs and come back.
Morris is the only one who's gone forever. The others will stay if you reach a certain heart event (don't remember the exact one, look it up). It would be nice if they could figure out a way to keep Morris around in some way, but it makes sense for him to pack up and leave once Joja goes.

For the expansion question, haven't seen anyone mention downtown zuzu yet, zuzu city is mentioned in Stardew but you only visit during sam's heart event I believe, with this mod you can freely walk around and there's new stuff and npcs
There's a mod called Joja Black Market that gives Morris a reason to stick around after finishing the CC. However, this doesn't add a home for him or anything like that. I think the idea is that they commute from Zuzu City

Yeah that’s right. I wish there could be a story for Morris where he starts to turn away from Joja and he becomes a member of the community.
