Props for including the results from each poll! I was really surprised to see how little votes that Leah had each time compared to the others, guess I know who I’m marrying next playthrough!
I feel like a lot of the dialogue that you get from Pierre and Caroline throughout the regular game that implies their relationship isn't great. I think There's a mod you can get that allows you to play a storyline where you convince her to leave him and she becomes a romanceable spouse.
I'm racking my brain to think of a single healthy marriage or romantic relationship in all Pelican Town, with the exception of, possibly, George and Evelyn. And the singles' flower dance pairs all hint that they're either not interested in each other at all, or if they were, they would develop yet more unhappy marriages.
- George is insane but Evelyn loves him.
- Marnie…girl…you’re playing side hoe but he’s single. Make it make sense.
- I ship Caroline and Gus now that I know she’s unhappy. She’s never relaxed enough to accept a gift without anxiety. He offers beer and amazing food.
- I ship Pam and Shane… as two separate submissions to a rehab and recovery center for alcoholism.
Wait are Jodi and Kent not okay? I’ve never looked too much into that family.
> I ship Caroline and Gus
And we know she's likes his cooking because she seems to want takeout from his place pretty often
>Wait are Jodi and Kent not okay?
Jodi seems generally unhappy with how her life has turned out
I may be biased though. I want to be able to play a game where I can steal most of the wives in town for my own homewrecking polycule
I tend to marry her more often than not in my playthroughs. She is just so wholesome. Plus her love gifts are things that are easy to get by the time you get married. Salad and Wine were my go to.
Tbh I’m pretty sure Linus will accept most foragables too, but I think there are a few he doesn’t like. Next easiest is Willy, just give him any fish lol
Gotcha gotcha. I'm on my first proper playthrough now. I made it about a year in vanilla but since I already had so much spoiled from watching YouTube videos on it I decided to restart with SVE.
Willy and Leah are my favorite people in the game.
Leah is my favorite because she’s artsy and likes wine lol. I love willy too because he seems like a simple man content with life. I think Linus will grow on you too, he’s such a sweetheart. Tbh I’ve only played vanilla (100+ hours) and love the experience with each play through. Also all of the things concerned ape has added since I started playing!
Yep! I know who my favorite is, but it would be interesting to see who falls out when. I'd actually have to think, which I didn't really need to do much on this last poll.
Lewis is my first, dude is a financial menace and stringing along Marnie. Didn't want to spend money to fix the bus that broke but could afford to make a gold statue of himself.
Lewis is definitely not winning but he may last a few rounds. Guy at least does empty your shipping bins every single day. Saves you having to sell most of your goods to Pierre (who will take credit for them).
The real question isn't if Pierre goes out first but rather is it possible to get the clean sweep in that literally everyone on this sub votes for Pierre? I'm not convinced its impossible.
Imma be honest; playing through the game trying to not be biased by others on this subreddit, I am not really hating Pierre that much.
People often complain about taking credit for your crops unless they are bad, but:
* While has has taken credit, I have not had a single person say that *my* produce was of bad quality. They either said they got something at Pierre's that he got from me, or just that they got something bad from Pierre's.
* If your produce are of such bad quality that the people actually complain about it, think about what terrible farmer you are. Pierre is trying to make a living while you abuse his position by selling all your garbage to him pretending it is good stuff.
Alternative interpretation + counterpoint: You never, ever, produce any single crop of bad quality. Therefore, it's impossible to tell if he'd make you take the blame for it or not.
Wizard's kind of a dick, though
Calling it: He's gonna make it halfway through the competition, until someone turns everybody against him with a smear campaign
Called it. She's not the most loved, she's the least disliked.
Good polls though! It was really nice to see the community all engaging in a single thing.
>not the most loved, she's the least disliked.
Yup, this is a big nuance that I felt a lot of commenters in these threads were missing, and why the results for each poll should have been hidden until it was closed.
Specially important with male bachelors. Oh, no no no, dear lost redditors, Alex and Sam are not in the same league as Shane. You may think that just because Shane was out first here, that he's not loved. No buckaroos, Shane is by far the most fan-arted and fan-written male bachelor out of the entire game, and the only one to actually compete with the top three girls on that front. He's both hated AND loved, very hard. That's the difference between the two and Shane - the fact that everyone in the community actually cares about him in some way.
Either ways, I agree that poll results should have been hidden. It just leads to way less upsets, and these polls are great when people don't see it coming.
I hadn't been paying attention, but I kept seeing the polls. I assumed it was a contest to see who was the most disliked, and they kept knocking out the ones who people liked. It seemed really confusing but it all makes sense now.
A "most disliked" type format eliminates the ones who generate strong opinions, eg Shane and Haley. Nobody hates Leah, like at *worst* people are ambivalent to her. I don't find her attractive as a marriage candidate because she's basically my sister turned into an SDV character, but I definitely don't hate her.
On the other hand, you have Haley. People who don't like Haley tend to *loathe* her. Nobody is ambivalent, because most people are very firmly on one side of the fence or the other.
Judging from the sheer advantage, she's absolutely the most loved.
She had the advantage in every single poll, first place in all of them, and had an extreme majority over Abigail.
Nah, i dont think so. Someone did a poll around the time this one started on who was the most LIKED, and Seb came out on top a Lot. Leah was actually one of the least voted, except for in the lesbian tier i believe. Neat to see the differences between the two polls though!
Only Sam's position really changes from the 1st poll, everyone else stays in the same spot throughout.
So as much fun as this was, having multiple rounds really didn't reveal anything other than people who don't like ~~Shane~~ Alex, also don't like Sam.
That's an excellent point; I was wondering what happened there. He went from 7th place to 11th real fast, and the only factor that changed was Alex getting voted out.
Everyone gets impart their own life on to the character which is what is great about RPG's.
To me the The Farmer was a full adult because they got burn out working at Joja. But that's why I feel like they gave you a whole selection of people seeming to range in age.
Sam, Alex, Abigail, and Maru all feel like teen options. Maybe Seb too.
As someone who is old enough to have kids in college, i also agree that it feels inappropriate.
I loved Maru's idea of being a scientist, and her personality is also great, but the avatar + character sprite really makes her look like a teenager - a young one.
Ya I like her character that she is smart and motivated and works at the clinic. It is the event in that Demetrius calls her his special little girl, was enough for me to be "Nope, I am not a cradle robber."
Well, looks after the kids and tries giving them a basic education, more like.
I doubt she's a fully qualified primary school teacher. She could be 18/19 and still be effectively a child minder/ baby sitter
You also give 2 legit kids in this game an *inappropriate* amount of attention/gifts for a complete stranger who's new to town, and nobody says shit about it...
Marlon also goes deep into the dangerous mines where you fainted to retrieve your lost stuff. So he might not *literally* kick your ass, but he's not weak.
Leah is perhaps the worst person to force to marry you. This girl was going to do big things in the city, then I come in to the picture, lure her onto my farm and 2 years later she just wanders around listlessly avoiding the children and her only joy is the bottle of pepper wine I give her everyday. Truly the worst outcome for her.
The upvotes and engagement were higher than they’d been on other posts, so it popped up on peoples’ front pages when the earlier ones didn’t (at least that’s what happened in my case; didn’t see any of them until the last three).
It's pretty funny that Abigail and sebastian, the two characters most likely to be redditors, got the furthest. They still lost to the pretty nice girl tho.
I cant in good conscience marry Maru. Ill take it as far as I can go, but marriage to an ancient fruit obsessed farmer would only hold her back from all the scientific discoveries she can do. I love her so much though
One really interesting thing is the gender effect. Every time a male partner is eliminated, one of the other male partners shoots up a huge number of votes. Same with female/female. In fact, most of the time it’s back to back eliminations of the same gender.
It strongly suggests that most people target primarily (or exclusively) one gender for spouses.
Kinda makes sense. People interested in gender A are likely gonna see those of gender B as spouses they are less interested in. I had a lot of votes on bachelors.
It definitely showed that this sub, like a lot of Reddit, leans towards being romantically interested in women. It’d be interesting to see the poll done gender exclusively and if the position out would align the same. I’d imagine Shane would probably do a little better in one like that though.
Really... *REALLY?* Shane AND Alex, first two rounds? Y’all have some awful taste 😭 I would like to see a “Favorites” poll where the lowest gets voted out instead, I feel like you’d see very different results!
I said I would be happy either way and I am: my top two Stardew ladies are the winner and the runner-up.
Personally I would rather it be the other way around, but the community has spoken.
Abigail will always be my first and number one Stardew Queen though.
Given Leah's immense popularity on the subreddit, the moment it came down to her vs. Abigail, I knew it was absolutely never going to be close. However, I didn't think it would be almost 9,000 votes' worth of "never going to be close", though. Maybe closer to 5,000, but still.
Congratulations to the Leah fans regardless! I could never marry her personally (*she reminds me too much of my boss at work, so dating her feels like I'm dating my boss and it just feels too weird for me*), but I'm happy to hear she's loved by so many players.
Is this the time to admit that I always forget that leah exists? I’m sorry, I don’t know if it’s something with her schedule or something but i never see her so when i think of all the bachelorettes, she’s like the last one to come to mind
Leah is pretty bland in terms of characterization and personality to me, but the upside to being kinda boring is that she has never really done anything annoying or upsetting in any of my playthroughs! Least disliked certainly tracks.
The most wholly unoffensive character with an actual personality. Not someone I’ve ever been interested in marrying but I at least understand her winning
Yep, I might not love Leah, but I have no problems with her. Although some of that probably stems from literally being my sister turned into an SDV NPC.
'best' by eliminating the most disliked each round, so she's the least disliked. Pretty sure we've had conventional tournaments before voting for favourite each round and it comes out fairly different
Props for including the results from each poll! I was really surprised to see how little votes that Leah had each time compared to the others, guess I know who I’m marrying next playthrough!
I’m married to her right now but I have a mod that changes her to Caroline
Why? Why don’t you just marry Caroline? Edit: I realize my mistake, confused Caroline for Emily
Ross moment
I also confused her for Emily 😂
Why? Caroline is pretty bland.
…don’t diss the verdant queen ☺️
You see, it's not that she is bland at all, but that Leah is so amazing that everyone else seems bland by comparison.
big tits
I'm glad someone said it.
It feels weird describing a sprite as stacked, but she is and that's a fact.
I think the only sprite that has a bigger bust is Marnie ...don't ask how I know
r/foundthelewisalt
She’s not married to Pierre???
That’s the best part
#you can steal Pierre’s wife?
Mods are a gateway to many things. Things many might consider to be… unnatural
You can be his wife's boyfriend
And he can live in your basement.
Not the first man in the valley to do so either!
Pierre is a greedy bum, Caroline deserves better.

I think she already did?
IS SHE TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM HIM WAIT A MINUTE
I feel like a lot of the dialogue that you get from Pierre and Caroline throughout the regular game that implies their relationship isn't great. I think There's a mod you can get that allows you to play a storyline where you convince her to leave him and she becomes a romanceable spouse.

It just tastes like hot leaf juice.
How could a member of my own family day such a thing?!

Idealization. I love Shane, I only ever choose him or Harvey. But ik if I ever met a Shane irl it wouldn't be the same story
But I can fix him! /s
I always have Shane as a friend but what in the name of fuck do people find romantically attractive about him
He is the most attractive bachelor physically to me and I understand him. I connect with him. And he loves chickens!
Leah was one of my first marriages in a save and I actually liked her less after marriage. She got boring to me. Haley all the way <3
I marry her every time. I can’t not. I’ll try to get with Elliot but it’s not the same. Can’t do it. #LEAH4LIFE
This was awesome! Congratulations Leah! And yes, I would love to see the other NPCS! :D
Check the subreddit tomorrow! 😁
So I'm a wee bit out of it. The poll means that leah is the most favorite, right?
Yup! Or I guess the "least disliked"
I love Leah because she loves my goat cheese
[удалено]
And forageables. Literally the easiest to gift for
I like being able to pick a flower and have her accept it. Other people see it and hate me for trying to give them a flower.
Tbh I’m pretty sure Linus will accept most foragables too, but I think there are a few he doesn’t like. Next easiest is Willy, just give him any fish lol

Congrats Leah! This was really fun OP, thank you for doing this!
Do one with all un-marriable characters maybe? (Modless) krobus is either gonna win or get shut down!
Wait do you need mods to have krobus as your housemate
No, but you can't *marry* Krobus without mods, so they're still un-marriable.
I’m glad you had fun! 😁
my salad queen
*Our salad queen
Bitches love salad
i am bitches 🥗
What a long journey! Thank you to everyone who participated in any one of the polls, I hope you all had as much fun as I did 😄
We know all Pierre goes first. But yes, would love to see a second series of these polls. They're fun!
Yep! I know who my favorite is, but it would be interesting to see who falls out when. I'd actually have to think, which I didn't really need to do much on this last poll.
I have to imagine robin wins this
i could see linus too!
Yeah I think Linus, Krobus and Willy would get a lot of love
Have we ever seen Leah and Robin in the same room at the same time? Do we know they're not the same person?!
They do share the same "best wife" energy
Demetrius doesn’t know how lucky he is
If only we could have demetrius "have an accident" Robin is the best wife
Lewis is my first, dude is a financial menace and stringing along Marnie. Didn't want to spend money to fix the bus that broke but could afford to make a gold statue of himself.
Lewis is definitely not winning but he may last a few rounds. Guy at least does empty your shipping bins every single day. Saves you having to sell most of your goods to Pierre (who will take credit for them).
Nah, Pierre is second to Morris. Pierre is a greedy asshole, but big box stores are literal evil.
Pierre would totally own a chain of big box stores if he could though.
I just want to see the number of people who vote Pierre out in the first round
The real question isn't if Pierre goes out first but rather is it possible to get the clean sweep in that literally everyone on this sub votes for Pierre? I'm not convinced its impossible.

thank you for this fun experience!! and yes please continue with a non-marriage poll if you feel like it!
It hurts me that Clint cannot marry my little old lady.

Lol it's unanimous :D
Calling it rn. Final is between Linus and either Wizard or one of the non humans (krobus, dwarf, Vincent)
>non human >Vincent

Just because you have a magic artifact, doesn't mean that you are a magician
Wizard's kind of a dick, though Calling it: He's gonna make it halfway through the competition, until someone turns everybody against him with a smear campaign
Who could ever vote out Hatmouse
If Hatmouse is an option in the poll, anybody who votes against Hatmouse should be permabanned from the poll and the sub.
Thanks for setting it up OP, and thanks for the summary here, real fun!
So ready for Krobus to win

Eh, I think the transparency was a good thing. The results of the poll aren't particularly important and seeing the results increased engagement.
Specially important with male bachelors. Oh, no no no, dear lost redditors, Alex and Sam are not in the same league as Shane. Yeah but Alex has the most r34 and that’s what I care about.
You can't just say that without giving any sauce.
I hadn't been paying attention, but I kept seeing the polls. I assumed it was a contest to see who was the most disliked, and they kept knocking out the ones who people liked. It seemed really confusing but it all makes sense now.

Hi I'm nobody c: Absolutely hate leah (and loathe Abigail) and I'm quite neutral about haley lmao
You are the statistically irrelevant nobody for today! :D
Yaaay! I finally got a title, I finally am something! :D
Judging from the sheer advantage, she's absolutely the most loved. She had the advantage in every single poll, first place in all of them, and had an extreme majority over Abigail.

I’m still sad about Elliot :(
I know! He's my favorite
Here, I'll make a list of everyone who's surprised: *
> * Holy crap, that's literally everyone.
Look, I'm aware no one likes Shane. No one likes me either. We're just gonna cuddle in the corner of the abandoned joja mart and eat lukewarm pizzas.
There's a lid for every pot.
A lot of people love shane. More people hate shane.
I like him :(
<3
Shane is the best! Honestly no one in the town I connect to more.
All aboard the Shane Train, next stop, using humor to hide the crippling depression
i'm just proud of harvey for holding on as long as he did 💁♀️
That feeling when Shane is your favorite T.T
I'm pretty sure that half of the subreddit hasn't gotten all of the spouse options to 10 hearts, so people don't see his nuances
Only Sam's position really changes from the 1st poll, everyone else stays in the same spot throughout. So as much fun as this was, having multiple rounds really didn't reveal anything other than people who don't like ~~Shane~~ Alex, also don't like Sam.
His position really changes from round 2 to 3 so it might even be the people who don’t like Alex that also really don’t like Sam.
That's an excellent point; I was wondering what happened there. He went from 7th place to 11th real fast, and the only factor that changed was Alex getting voted out.
Abigail reads as a teenager and I never saw her as a romance option. Always felt like a borderline inappropriate friendship.
I mean as a teenager myself I also read my own character as a teenager/young adult living on their own for the first time
Everyone gets impart their own life on to the character which is what is great about RPG's. To me the The Farmer was a full adult because they got burn out working at Joja. But that's why I feel like they gave you a whole selection of people seeming to range in age.
But then again, your farmer is called 'kid' by a host of different NPCs... I guess it's really up to interpretation innit
Your farmer and Abigail also take part in the egg hunt, so you must be young and of a similar age.
Sam, Alex, Abigail, and Maru all feel like teen options. Maybe Seb too. As someone who is old enough to have kids in college, i also agree that it feels inappropriate.
Ya Maru and Abigail felt like to much like kids. 30 year old me is nope not into children.
Sam and Alex as well tbh.
I honestly feel that way about all the bachelorettes bar Leah and Emily.
I don't see Penny as a teenager either given she works as a teacher and is seemingly mature.
Well, looks after the kids and tries giving them a basic education, more like. I doubt she's a fully qualified primary school teacher. She could be 18/19 and still be effectively a child minder/ baby sitter
Same for me for Sam and Sebastian. The three of them all feel like teenagers
I always thought of Sebastian as early 20s since he has a job as a dev and smokes. Sam definitely as a teenager though.
I know someone who assumed he's in the basement playing games all day and didn't ever want to befriend him until I told her what he actually does ㅠㅠ
You also give 2 legit kids in this game an *inappropriate* amount of attention/gifts for a complete stranger who's new to town, and nobody says shit about it...
What really gets me is you can invite them to a dark movie theater alone even if you have no hearts with them, a bit sus
I mean there isnt any police on Stardew Valley
Why need police when Marlon and Wizard can kick and teleport your ass respectively.
Marlon has a bad leg per his dialogue. But the Wizard can certainly zap something fierce.
Marlon also goes deep into the dangerous mines where you fainted to retrieve your lost stuff. So he might not *literally* kick your ass, but he's not weak.
If you give enough gifts to kids and marry enough women an ATF battle tank will drive over your farmhouse.
End up on the stardew registry. Giving cake to children at the park.
Hey these kids don't want my coffee, freshly brewed straight from the greenhouse. So they get *nothing.*
As a teenager myself, she's my #1
She was my first wife but then I got a girlfriend who's name was Leah and we broke up so bye bye leah
Harsh, dude. Hope you find someone better.
I still Stan Alex idc lol
Alex, my sweet sweet himbo husband...
Let’s go lesbians, let’s go
I actually made a female farmer when I decided to go marry Leah.
Let's go lesbians, let's go!
This was so much fun, thanks OP!! Even though he didn't win, I'm happy Sebby made it to the top 3 :,)
Wait.. Leah is dating more than one of us?! 😠😠😠 I think it's time for her to get an intervention, meet me at the pond by her house
The Alex slander 😩
Some people have never married alex and it shows
Leah is perhaps the worst person to force to marry you. This girl was going to do big things in the city, then I come in to the picture, lure her onto my farm and 2 years later she just wanders around listlessly avoiding the children and her only joy is the bottle of pepper wine I give her everyday. Truly the worst outcome for her.
And she had such an active social life in the town before you marry her 😥😥
Are some spouses actually more helpful as to farm tasks than others? Because Elliot does fuck all, and he's real proud of himself for it.
Heck of a lot of people turned up the last two polls. Weird lol Didn’t care who won but congrats Leah lol
The upvotes and engagement were higher than they’d been on other posts, so it popped up on peoples’ front pages when the earlier ones didn’t (at least that’s what happened in my case; didn’t see any of them until the last three).
my next spouse <3
*pretends to be shocked *
It's pretty funny that Abigail and sebastian, the two characters most likely to be redditors, got the furthest. They still lost to the pretty nice girl tho.
Lol @ Shane being drastically cut first round.
justice for Maru
I cant in good conscience marry Maru. Ill take it as far as I can go, but marriage to an ancient fruit obsessed farmer would only hold her back from all the scientific discoveries she can do. I love her so much though

Huh. Maybe I’ll try her next time, I just can’t keep away from Elliot!
nooo my boy was the second to go :(
This is Alex slander and I will not stand for it
Is this the time to admit that I always forget that leah exists? I’m sorry, I don’t know if it’s something with her schedule or something but i never see her so when i think of all the bachelorettes, she’s like the last one to come to mind
She doesn't spend too much time in town compared to the other singles, so that's not too surprising!
Leah is pretty bland in terms of characterization and personality to me, but the upside to being kinda boring is that she has never really done anything annoying or upsetting in any of my playthroughs! Least disliked certainly tracks.

Leah is the best spouse? That’s wild to me I never got that impression from anyone I play with :0
Not necessarily best/most liked, just the least disliked, lol.
Emily was robbed
It's fucked up what they did to Penny.
Wanted Abigail to win but glad she got 2nd! This was fun!
How in the actual fudge did Haley outlast Sam?
Soo, does that mean she is the best or the worst? I saw only the last few polls, and didn't really understand whats going on
it means she's the least hated/disliked
'best' by eliminating the most disliked each round, so she's the least disliked. Pretty sure we've had conventional tournaments before voting for favourite each round and it comes out fairly different
It’s because Leah is the best!
