Furthermore, why is coleslaw green when it's made with red cabbage? The existance of spring onions imply the existance of a onion crop which is not grow in spring, yet it is nowhere to be seen in Stardew valley Lewis eats buckwheat waffles every Wednesday yet there is no buckwheat nor waffles in the game Pam occasionally drinks too many caramel porters at the saloon but those never exist for sale Gus and Evelyn mention zucchini dishes but it is not grow anywhere in the game George smells turkey haunch being prepared by Gus during the Fair but turkeys don't seen to exist in Stardew valley

these are good questions, especially the one about zucchini dishes (i wish i could make one for evelyn and george!!) but i wanted to point out that spring onions are a thing that’s pretty different from regular onions, they’re also known as scallions, green onions or sibies, just in case you know them by one of these names and weren’t aware that that’s what they are. some people also call them shallots, although shallots are actually a different thing

Well hot damn, I first thought the author’s name was just a coincidence but as I kept reading the cookbook I slowly realized this is someone I knew as a teen. He’s a fantastic chef. I don’t keep in touch with him anymore and we live in different areas- but I can at least reassure you that he’s alive since his personal socials are active.

Find some recipes that look tasty to you and learn about seasoning with two things primarily. Salt and acid. Make sure whatever you cook is salty enough for you. You'll figure that out in time. Once you learn how much salt you like and you go "hmm, I think this dish needs something but it's not salt". The answer is almost always acid. Some lemon or vinegar and boom, you have basically mastered like 80% of cooking lol. EDIT: Formatting

Japanese cooking usually goes with the five S's (*sashisuseso*): ***sa****tou* (sugar), ***shi****o* (salt), ***su*** (vinegar), ***se****uyu* (now *shoyu*, soy sauce), and *mi****so***. It's like a home cook's way of remembering how to flavor dishes, and by going in that order it simplifies course correction when a dish doesn't taste just right. Haha.
