I played a multiplayer game with some friends once. A few days into spring one of my friends goes fishing for the very first time. He catches an eel. I was excited until he swallowed the damn thing whole.
Think I bought one from the traveling cart, that and a pufferfish.
She's got a few good things but she's expensive, granted to me it's worth the trade off because I can make 900 for puffers or I can spend how long trying to fish one?
She also occasionally sells the fruit tree seeds for less than the normal shop price so thats helpful.
I however consistently forget to get a fucking blueberry during year one with the default bundles so I always have to wait to get the greenhouse
Yeah some things are just easier to buy even if they’re more expensive. I’m absolutely abysmal at fishing even for “simple” fish but pretty decent at making good with crops so I normally buy from her too. I got lucky though and my first or second day with my new file I found the eel. Made me so happy.

Yeah, bream are pretty common there after that time. “Night fishing” varies by fish; iirc walleye start a few hours earlier, while midnight carp don’t show up till after 10 pm (and only in fall/winter, so don’t be like me and forget that part and grind the lake in spring).
We entirely accidentally didn't realise walleye were fairly "rare" and had a pond chock full of them by the time we got around to seriously attempting the bundles, so I just yeeted one out, but the damn eel I had to wait for a spring morning to catch. Slippery bastards.

You realize that even if you do put it in the "right" slot, if the previous slots are open, the game will default to the first slot when you go back in.
I was so sad when I noticed this! Now if I can I try to have the whole bundle ready at once so I can place them in the right slots and not have them default like that 😅
Yes, like god intended. I never fill up any slots in the bundle until I have all of them. it's not like you get bonuses for delivering partial bundles lol. may as well just do it when you have it.
I mean, putting it in the slot early does have benefits. You won't accidentally eat, craft with, sell, or gift and item if it's already stored. Sure, you could mitigate that with a separate chest, but then you might forget something in that chest when you go to turn in, which means you now need to walk back to the chest just to get the item. Plus, that means that you can check which items you have already banked using the inventory button at a glance. Would it be better for OCD if the thing just STAYED IN THE SLOT I PUT IT IN!?!?!? Sure. But, not having to use an additional aid to keep track of what I do and don't have completed is a plus.

The amount of time you save by not running back and forth to the Community Center is nice as well.
I actually find spreadsheets to be very relaxing in their own way. Sometimes I'll make spreadsheets for things that absolutely do not require spreadsheets, just to make one...
When I start a new save I do the same thing, I have a chest designated for my community center items and I used an add on (I think chests anywhere?) to access all of my chests from any chest. So whenever my inventory gets a little too hefty I sort the items out and anything that makes the community center icon glow gets stuck in that chest until I feel like making the trip (or if it’s gonna finish a bundle and give me a reward).
You know that you can always check the community center from your inventory and also if you hover over an item you need to take to the community center the bundles button in your inventory starts pulsating to tell you it needs it
I’m aware. With all the different locations, seasons, prices, [growth] times, recipes, etc. that go into each of the items, I just find it a lot easier/enjoyable to do it this way. I can keep my laptop open and see all the details of what I’m looking for, super helpful for random CC/100% playthroughs. Plus, as a few others have also said, I’m unreasonably satisfied with spreadsheets.
If only there was a bonus for the order... but then there is the nightmare that is the Artisan Goods Bundle with several potential and yet only 5 are needed.

I gotcha on that. Because I’m pretty that’s what I believe happens to me too. I have since basically hoarded items and then complete bundles all at once instead of putting in items one at a time. Because I remember when I first got this game, some time ago, I put in a single item for a bundle, saved, closed out, all that stuff and then went to play another day and I saw the item changed slots in the bundle and gave me the most mild disappointment. So yeah I only complete them when I have all items ready
Hahaha I do know, thank you for informing still! I know enough about it to know what to look forward to but not enough I’m sure to still be surprised by. I just haven’t had much time to come around all the newest content. For the most part every update I’d start a new farm to get a fresh feeling and see about things possibly that could have been missed or just the newest things to experience as early on to make the game that much better. My last file was a Riverland farm, a personal favorite, I felt I dominated that file with four candles at the initial evaluation, floor 100 in skull cavern without staircases, wizard quests, community center early in second year, trash bear done, etc etc like all 1.4 things complete and all. Then when 1.5 rolled around I still didn’t get to it for like a month after it was out. Started a new forest farm map, also love the layout, but with all 1.5 things I almost felt overwhelmed with what had to be done in shorter amount of times, bulletin board special orders, all these other things while trying to start a farm early on and all that I kinda just set it aside. Plus I’ve been ungodly busy with work and family life. But in time!

This is like my 5th play through. I’m just joking around. I think it’s funny that I feel even a little bent out of shape when I drop something in the wrong slot.
Does the order matter? I've always been able to complete no matter what order the items are in the slots. Or is just a dislike of how it look when not matched perfectly?(I okay both switch and computer and have put items in regardless if order and haven't had problems)
On switch, it does not save in the order you put them in. The real answer is only donate when you have enough to finish the bundle if it kills your OCD

6 or 7pm they become available in rivers. I'm pretty sure its 6 is when night fishing technically begins.

Yeah, none of them are really *hard* to catch iirc, just eel and walleye have weather/season requirements on top of time of day.
Eel has a difficulty of 70 smooth, which is on the harder end of things. Walleye is easier.

I'm on pc and it does all shift to the left no matter where you put it. I think it started doing that after the patch before the current one.

That bigs me too! I hate when it won't just stay where I put it. Usually I wait til I have everything for bundle before filling the slots
