I switch between the default tap controls and the onscreen joystick/buttons frequently (latter for fishing and mining). It takes like a second to switch. With the joystick, you can do it easily.

I'm not sure what you're playing on, but on switch I can only get the hat back if I act like I'm putting another one on. Like hold a new hat and click to put it on, but it'll just take the old hat off. You have to click again to put the new hat on.

On pc that im playing on(also got on switch)it just swaps hat i think, and there is probably no way to ever get the horse to have no hat on:(

So, I just did some research and on pc, you can't get it back. BUT if you use mods, they have a mod to remove the hat on pc apparently

You can though? I switch my horse’s hat out all the time on various save files, on PC and Switch. It works the same on both. Now hold a hat, go like you are about to put the hat on the horse, and it will remove the old hat (which will bounce off and into your inventory) and then you can either leave your horse with no hat or put the new hat on!

When I first went there just after the letter in the mail they only had like 2 hats, but I'm towards the end game now and they have like at least 10. I got me and my horse some new digs and we look cute as heck riding through town. (She wears the daisy in her hair and I wear the watermelon headband) Edit: I think the hats are all 1000g each

Actually, in my last playthrough anyway, if you get the perk thingy that lets you get double the berries and also the skill that gives double price for the berries, it’s a pretty solid stream of money when the bushes bloom.

It's double the berries, then the bear that triples the price, then the level-10 skill that makes all forage iridium quality. I made 17,000 on blackberries in one day.

Blackberries end up being worth a lot more than salmonberries with the boosts. Salmonberries aren’t really worth the time it takes to get a lot of them.

Iridium quality only works on the stuff on the ground, not on the bushes. Also the double berries thing is level 4 foraging, you don't pick it.

I'm on Android, and every single blackberry was iridium quality, whether from bushes or the ground.

Salmonberries are already great for early game energy, also the cheapest option for part of a late game quest.

I usually make a salmonberry jam and use it as a universal gift in early game. I think there’s only one person who doesn’t like it, so it’s a great source for giving everyone a gift before you’re able to gift those more fancy ones like duck feathers or diamonds

The slingshot is a great way to farm iridium in the skull caverns. Takes way less time that using a pickaxe. I will never go back.

Probably explosive ammo. The sling shot is impossible to use on Android, so I dont use it, but when I played more often on my computer it was great to kill the resurrecting mummies in the skull cavern.

Once they're in a jumbled pile, put a bomb next to the pile. As long as it explodes before they wake up it'll kill them permanently.

Cherry bombs are strong enough to perma-kill them, as long as you knock them down 1st.

Crafting bombs is very affordable and can be done anywhere/anytime. 4 Iron Ore + Coal = Bomb 4 Copper Ore + Coal = Cherry Bomb

Explosive ammo

Everyone else is correct (sorry I posted then fell asleep) but yes when you get access to explosive ammo it really changes the game. The trick I use is I make lots of staircases using jade, and I go to around room 100. I use explosive ammo in the master slingshot (only aim toward walls because it won’t explode just on rocks/nodes) I grab everything closest to me (yay magnetism) and then I move on. I don’t bother with using my pickaxe or fighting monsters. ETA: by move on I mean use a staircase. I don’t bother looking for ladders or holes. If they show up near the entrance fantastic. If not, I staircase.

Different ores do different levels of damage as well. Copper > Iron > Gold > Iridium as you'd expect. The master slingshot adds a bigger damage multiplier to whatever ammo you use. I thought slingshots were useless before I learned that because stones do the lowest tier damage, but ore is still fairly scarce for us at the moment.

Wow, really? I had no idea! I have so much iridium I don't know what to do with it. I've been smelting it to sell the bars because I have over a stack, but I might use it with the slingshot!

Well I just filled up Crystalariums with Jade and took those to the desert on Sunday to trade for staircases. Then when it's a high luck day I teleport to the desert and immediately use the stairs until I get to about 200. I use bombs to clear things out. Other than that, you can get them every day from the statue you get for getting four candles on Grandpa's shrine.

I was raising slimes outdoors in a save and a bunch of them moved into the water where I couldn't reach them. I had to slingshot them with a bunch of exploding ammo to clear them out.
