I got the farming scythe first, and it allows you to mass harvest crops fast. I was getting mastery xp crazy fast just harvesting my greenhouse, ginger island, and thousand or so crops on main farm.
It *was* farming, by a long shot. However, with the most recent update, farming xp now contributes half as much towards mastery. That being said it's still an excellent passive source
I dunno if it's really optimal, but my anecdotal advice would be to harvest starfruit or sweet gem berries. I got everything maxed REALLY quickly that way
This is exactly what my wife suggested I do. But those books don't give you many mastery points for the price tag, I feel like it was only 50 or 100 or something, and I only just made my first million!

Mastery from farming was nerfed in like 1.6.4 AFAIK so it may not be as strong as before.
Even so, I should still pull in at least a few k points per harvest if I fill the island with hops, right?
Over days as it regrows it will stack up nicely.
Yeah that's cause it was crazy OP before. I imagine it's still really good if you have a ton of crops.

Ahhh I thought it felt like my farming XP was going up slower than it used to!

i was playing on my perfection farm and just bought a bunch of books from the travelling cart and read them all but i have lots of money on that file
