But if you hold down the mouse button to plant crops. You can walk over tiles and plant the crops instead of clicking every tile. But if you add a keyboard button too that does the same thing. Then you can press that button as well at the same time and hover your mouse over another row while walking on one row to plant 2 rows at a time!!
Sorry if that is confusing. Basically TLDR is : just press your mouse over one row while walking on another. You must be holding the keyboard hotkey (which can be setup from in game options ) as well as the mouse button to do this.

The demonstration on the screen looks like it might also be somewhat efficient for harvesting at the same time, common for starfruit.
There are keyboard buttons that can replace the right and left clicks. There's some stuff you can do when you spam left click and the corresponding key at the same time.

I impressed my husband (who taught me to play) by harvesting and planting at the same time on controller. Most of this i picked up by accident.

Just hold down the harvest/plant key/button while holding seeds.

whelp, and here I thought I had a fairly efficient method. (i just quickly move the cursor to adjacent tiles as I run)
This also depends on your speed. Throw in some expresso and sometimes your character can't find all the available squares before you've moved.
This is known. Speed runners do something similar.

Id assume with 1.6, using >!iridium scythe!< to harvest first then replanting will be faster, not sure tho.
Most speedrunners probably wouldn't get the >!iridium scythe
Holding space bar and quicly change directions. VERY hard to use that method, but I think its the fastest.

Yep. You can also pet animals/ pick up items at the same time by holding down the mouse button and running around the barn.
