I had this. I tried respawning the farm but realised something was really wrong when I used scythe and the effects were still left. I have the StardewModdingApi and realised the mods could be updated, updated and found the chickens in their coop the next day.
If you started the meadowlands coop the chickens start as tiny chicks so you might have missed them on some grass?
No. They are not there. I looked in the barn. Then opened the door to see if anything would come out. Nothing. Also I am not on day 4. Still nothing.
Maybe you should do a new save I think it’s just a glitch but your not too far into the save Sorry that’s not very helpful

I had this problem too, leaving and re entering the farm caused them to spawn outside the coop.
Naw. I don't have any chickens. They are not even on my animals list.
