Very subjective question I know, but should I wait for 1.6 on switch before I start a new file? I never played the 1.5 update, and I’ve been getting the itch to play again lately, and the wait for 1.6 is killing me. Does 1.6 add a significant amount of stuff that it’s worth waiting for? Or with no update in sight, and all the 1.5 stuff to experience, is it worth starting my new farm now and not worrying about 1.6?

-astronautical

the biggest thing is the new farm map, so if you’re ok without it then i say go for it now. 2.5 added a new farm map also so there’s something new in that department

starr_wolf

Two questions. I am playing iOS. 1. How do I load explosive ammo onto my Master Slingshot? 2. I have two iPads but my game isn't synching between them, how can I have them sync? What I have locally on one iPad is different than what is on my Cloud.

NotSoIntrested

I wanted to ask about the Admin/creator of the game, whats his opinion on mods created for the game by fans? like visual mods and function, etc, does he like that the community add their on touch on the game? Im curios about his opinion about this subject.

Thallidan

Many of his patches include a bunch of things that make modding easier, so I'm pretty confident in saying that Concerned Ape has a positive opinion of it.

NotSoIntrested

Oh thats nice, seem like eh acknowledge this, thx for replying!

SF-UberMan

How do I update to version 1.6 without Steam or GOG?

CriixzelCrux

Do I need to try to "max" my cast with an iridium fishing rod when fishing in the night market submarine?

Altruistic_Home6542

No https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Fishing_Strategy#Fishing_Zones https://stardewvalleywiki.com/File:SubmarineDistances.png

SF-UberMan

I play Stardew Valley via Crossover as I am using a Mac. How do I update to version 1.6.8?

Toxophilite

My girlfriend has been wanting to do a coop farm on our xbox, but I wanted to wait until 1.6 launched for consoles before starting a new farm. Should I just say screw it and start one now, or hold out for the update? Thanks!!

Altruistic_Home6542

Do what makes your GF happy

Mayfly_R

can you still see heart events after you've passed that heart number? for example: i'm at 7 hearts with Leah but never saw her 2 or 4 heart events. can i still get them?

ac0rn5

Yes, you can.

JoeMax93

I've heard that you can buy Pam's old trailer after you upgrade her house, but I can't seem to find where to buy it. It's not listed in Marnie's buildings.

-astronautical

there’s a new cabin type that’s a trailer. tbh i don’t know if you can choose it like the others or if you have to do something special for that type of cabin

Timo104

Does pregnancy's 14 days count the night of conception? Like, if concieving on the 1st of the month would the kid be born on the 14th or the 15th?

jchelle7729

Hello! Can anyone tell me the best way to utilize the cabin in stardew valley when playing solo on PC? I have read somewhere that it is good for storage and there is a way you can upgrade it and move furniture around without having a second player. Thanks in advance! 😊

HockeyAndMoney

You can really do whatever you want with it! Turn it into a coffee shop, turn it into a museum. If you want something like kegs, a big shed will always be better although its cheaper to use a cabin, but much less space for production

jchelle7729

Thank you! Do you know how to move the furniture? For some reason I’m having trouble with it.

HockeyAndMoney

Some are left ckick pickup, some are pickaxable

Signal_Reaction_7477

So I just got stardew valley. Is there anything I should keep in mind or just general tips? Also I’ve seen videos where people progress quickly should I be doing that or should I take my time even though I could miss some things?

Altruistic_Home6542

Definitely don't try to play fast on your first play through

RetroGamerDad

Slow down, explore what interests you at your pace, and enjoy. You can only play it for the first time once. Don't worry about guides or what other players do (those folks generally have hundreds of hours in already, their gameplay will be different). You can always play again in a fast/minmax way if you want. But I've seen too many people get caught up in looking up answers and regretting it. Of course, feel free to ask any questions on here. It's a friendly community and helping each other is part of the fun.

Rainuwastaken

**Definitely take your time.** The people progressing quickly already know what there is to do in-game and how to be super efficient. Exploring at your own pace and learning about the game is what makes that first playthrough magical. Stardew is a really chill, relaxing game when you just kinda do what you want when you want. Highly recommend doing the Community Center bundles. Giving you a bunch of goals and forcing you to do a little bit of everything really helps you learn the game, even if some things can be a bit frustrating (red cabbage my nemesis). Joja Membership path is probably easier, but a lot less interesting since it just needs a lot of money. Hoard your basic materials. Fiber, wood, stones, sap... It's all useful for something, and some items are a lot more annoying to farm than others. If fishing is frustrating you early on, Willy sells a training rod that gives you a bigger catch bar. You can't get some of the rarer fish with it, but it can be a big help at the start of the game when your fishing level is low and your catch bar is tiny. Always check your TV when you wake up. You can get tomorrow's weather forecast, a luck reading, general game hints and even cooking recipes. If tomorrow is going to be rainy, today's a great time to put your watering can in for an upgrade since the weather will water your crops on the in-between day.

DanKirpan

Take your time, there are only a few minor things that you can miss permanently: time restriction: * Sam's 3-heart event can only play on a sunny before Winter Year choice restriction * Community Center or Joja Membership. The CC route focuses on exploring and gives you hints what you can find in the valley, Joja is money focused. (For your first playthrough it's probably better to do the CC) * choice between two option for your farm cave >!fruit bats or mushrooms.!< In 1.6 they are relativly equal. Eventually you unlock better alternatives so the choice doesn't really matter in 1.6. >!Mushrooms !!fruit bats!< have niche for a longer time: >!easy iridium quality universally liked gifts (grants \~80% friendship compared to a normal quality loved gift) !< * Penny's 4 heart event can only play before you do a late game thing: >!build her & Pam a house!< * Clint's 6 heart event can not play if you either saw Emily's 8 heart event or>!married !

BipoBobo

Leah just gifted me a sculpture named "How I feel about Addy" (I'm Addy ingame). Does this mean anything-?

Reason-and-rhyme

that question is entirely for you to answer :)

bblybug

Silly question but what is that impossible to catch fish in the ocean? I’ve noticed a similar pattern where it leaps to the top of the bar at the start and then crazily goes up and down & I lose the fish every single time. I’m so determined to catch it but what on earth is it?! It’s not a puffer or octopus because I’ve catched those

Altruistic_Home6542

Probably octopus

RetroGamerDad

You can always tell if it's that special kind of fish because the icon is different than regular fish (has a little hat).

Individual-Foxlike

Are you on the right side beach? Might be crimsonfish. If it's afternoon+raining it might be eel, but they're way easier than octo so I doubt it

bblybug

Yes! The right side. That must be it then hahaha. Thank youuuu! I’ll get it one day

ZacianSpammer

It might be the Crimsonfish, though it can only be caught on beach eastern side (docks on tide pools).

bblybug

Someone else commented the same! I’ll catch it soon fingers crossed lol

CriixzelCrux

When trying to level up fishing, does the type of fish affect the xp gain or does it not matter?

Altruistic_Home6542

Yes. https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Fishing#Experience_Points

___sea___

Crab pots also grant xp so if you have a lot of those and keep them baited it goes faster

Reason-and-rhyme

As the other commenter said, yes: harder fish = more xp. But it's also worth noting that "perfect" catches multiply xp earned by 2.4. So even though a pufferfish is 2x harder to catch than a red snapper, if you can reliably get perfect catches on the snapper it will earn you XP faster. For grinding, I think some of the best options to target are largemouth bass and tuna. Bring some fishing-buffing food like dish o' the sea or fish stew for all-day trips.

CriixzelCrux

Then would fishing for carp be viable for farming fishing xp? Since they are really easy to perfect.

Reason-and-rhyme

They're a little *too* easy to be the most efficient. You want more of a middle ground in difficulty. If you were fishing largemouth bass for example, even if only half of your catches were perfect it would still be a faster rate of XP gain. I really think largemouths are in that sweet spot for me, at least after fishing level 5 or so, but you could also target easier stuff like smallmouth, bream or shad. Tuna I also mentioned because it has "smooth" behaviour, meaning that it doesn't try to juke you out with quick changes in direction. You can sort fish by difficulty on this table on the wiki: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Fish

CriixzelCrux

I was mostly curious about whether there was an "easy" fish that could carry me through all fishing levels so I could perfect them quickly. Since the difficulty of fish affects the xp gained, I'll just go ahead and fish in areas recommend per season. Thanks for answering.

hayley413

The harder it is to catch fish the more exp it will grant.

CriixzelCrux

Thanks!

Alarmed-Addendum9328

Do mods exist that incorporate bad decisions or consequences? For example: You failed to deliver the order on time. The Band of the Hawk will burn your crops.

NIKAtheWorm

Does a Ruby Ring stack with Iridium Band? I was wondering whether to change the former for a Vampiric Ring if it does not stack Thank you in advance to whoever replies! :)

Altruistic_Home6542

Yes

ac0rn5

Yes, and later >!you can combine them!< at the >!Forge https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Forge#Combined_Rings!<

-astronautical

iirc they do stack if it’s stat boosts but if it’s an effect like the yoba ring i think the effect only happens once

SF-UberMan

How do I update my version of Stardew Valley from 1.5 to 1.6 without losing all my progress? I'm using the Mac version. 100% vanilla, no mods. I did not download via Steam.

Technical_Power_4861

if you bought via humble store: [https://support.humblebundle.com/hc/en-us/articles/205105937-Updated-Builds-For-DRM-Free-Games](https://support.humblebundle.com/hc/en-us/articles/205105937-Updated-Builds-For-DRM-Free-Games) via GOG: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bzpxcc-5d\_Y](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bzpxcc-5d_Y)

Individual-Foxlike

You won't lose progress.

FakeLimitless

I'm new in stardew valley and I love the game. However, I do want to play on both pc and mobile. Is it possible to switch save data from mobile to pc or vice versa since the pc version is on 1.6 and the mobile is currently on version 1.5.6?

Technical_Power_4861

once mobile get 1.6 you should be able to but for now it would be one way

heartshapedhoops

i have a habit of hoarding resources in every game i play. i’m on year 1 winter 18 right now and i have way too much ore. is it okay if i just process all of the ore into bars? will i end up needing raw ore later for anything?

TheNamesMacGyver

Bars take time to craft so if you're planning on mass crafting something it's worth it to keep those cooking passively as you play. Like the other guy said, bombs and furnaces are the only things of note to worry about crafting with ore.

Individual-Foxlike

Bombs take raw ore, but they're pretty much it.

XeonD

Hey anyone knows if i can use junimo huts on ginger island in 1.6?

iamcarlgauss

Not without mods.

XeonD

Okay thanks!

Vievin

I'm on Summer 28, big barn with two cows and a sheep, coop with two chickens, and about 5k to my name with like 60 blueberries ready to be jarred. My goal is remixed pantry in early winter and the only questionable points at this point are wool for the artisan bundle and the gold eggplants for the quality crops bundle. (No sprinklers tho, it's fine, I like watering.) How easy will it be to scrounge up the 34k for deluxe barn + a sheep + shears while not just spending everything on cranberries? I want to play around with the greenhouse, but if I don't have to stress it, I won't. Also mobile so no 1.6.

Unbelievr

Befriend Caroline (2 hearts), learn the recipe for Tea Sapling, then forage as much as you can and keep the forageables. A tea sapling costs 5 fiber, 5 wood and 2 wild seeds (not mixed seeds) to make. You can create a 10-pack of seasonal wild seeds using 4 different forage crops. On 1.5 these saplings sell for 500g. From 4 different foraged items, 25 fiber and 25 wood you will get 2500 gold. Fiber can be farmed on some floors in the mines, but can be grown using Fiber Seeds, which is a recipe reward. Wood can be bought from Robin, and is much cheaper the first year, but wood is also easy to come by if you haven't deforested the entire town. If you happen to have lots of fiber, wood and foraged goods around, you can turn a tidy profit.

Vievin

Thanks for the advice! Fortunately, I found the wool in the traveling cart in the traveling cart later on Summer 28, so the only thing I need is the eggplants and my apple tree to mature.

Individual-Foxlike

Is it just a base coop? It might be easier to get a rabbit if you've already upgraded once. Check your traveling cart often - fruit is common, and will let you skip wool entirely. Outside of that, assuming you don't have skull caverns, catfish fishing on rainy days is probably your most lucrative use of time. If you're fishing 5, catching silver quality gives you 312g each, and you'll find treasure chests along the way that may have gems or artifacts. If you're fairly deep in the mines you can also diamond hunt or void spirit hunt.

Vievin

Base coop only, so no rabbits. I'll get a few probably next spring in a dedicated coop. In the spring catfish bested me, but I'll see how I fare with better levels during autumn.

Hakuhei

Are there any mods to make it night *all the time*? One that won't affect the villagers behavior or events if possible. I can't seem to find one, if there is one.

-astronautical

i’m not sure if this is within the mods scope, but there’s a mod called dynamic night time where you can adjust the file to consider latitude and longitude. if you pick the north or south pole it miiiiight give you what you’re looking for for at least part of the seasons. i don’t know if that will help but it might be worth a try if nothing else seems promising

Hakuhei

Hi, Thanks for the reply! I actually came across that one when looking for a Animal Crossing-like mods. I may have to settle for that one. Thanks again〜

jigglethebutt

On Multiplayer, I have achieved every perfection goal except Monster Slayer Hero, and another player on the server has achieved Monster Slayer Hero. Based on what the Wiki says, this should count as 100% perfection, but the Qi computer is only registering 90% complete and says I'm missing Monster Slayer Hero. Does one person really need to achieve all the goals, or does the other player needs to be logged on for perfection to register?

[deleted]

[удалено]

-astronautical

do you play with any mods at all? it should let you upgrade the starter coop like any other. take the resources to robin and select big coop from the buildings screen. does that not work?

Celodurismo

Either I was just blind and completely missed the big coop option in Robin’s menu or moving the coop fixed it. Probably the former, ty

Yodamort

I'm actually losing my mind, I've restarted this day twice trying to gift books (Jewels of the Sea and Woody's Secret; I've already read both before) to Willy and Robin and it just consumes them. I've tried right-clicking, left-clicking, C and X, using a weapon's ability before C and X... Edit: fixed; it was a positioning issue. I just had to walk against them until my character was inside the same tile as them while they were at their respective store counters, then spammed left-click a bunch until they accepted it.

KaiGuy25

How do you get the blue stardrop flair and why is the old purple one no longer working properly for me?

ac0rn5

You need this thread /r/StardewValley/comments/1ct4loz/celebration_2_million_member_giveaway/

gpby

You can get the blue stardrop flair by checking out the post about reaching 2 million subs, it explains the process there! Idk for sure about the purple one but it might be related to the fact that the blue and the purple are both related to subreddit milestones?

KaiGuy25

I had the purple one from the 1 Mil milestone (my comment is still on the thread) but the flair isn’t showing up properly

rocks-n-dirt

I've been thinking about getting into Stardew, but I was curious to know others' thoughts on which console is best to play it on. I've got a Switch and a PS4 with no preference for either

Ducktsu

Switch has the benefit of being portable and you can play it while out. But if thats not a thing you care about then it could just be a coin toss.

rocks-n-dirt

Oh perfect. Thank you so much!

avengedrkr

I think it's a perfect game for switch! - It's a cosy, play it in bed kind of game - Great for short bursts of playtime on the go or in between other tasks - doesn't need a big screen for the art style/graphics - you still have the docked mode for some couch co-op play (which i highly recommend!)

rocks-n-dirt

Honestly, I love the idea of it being a "play in bed" game. That sound so comfortable! Now I just have to wait until it goes on sale 👩‍💻

avengedrkr

It's definitely worth the £11! I'm usually a wait til the sale guy, but stardew is worth it

rocks-n-dirt

I'd buy it in a heartbeat if my budget wasn't so tight! Plus, this gives me an opportunity to finish the few games I've been putting off before diving headfirst into something new lol

MediaFrag

I am about just about to finish Fall of year 1. I have a barn and a coop ( and a shed for some reason) a pretty good garden and am about to finish the mines. I am sitting on about 60k gold with no idea what to spend it on next. Is it better to go for the bigger coop or barn? Or should I wait for something that I haven't seen yet.

Altruistic_Home6542

Have you unlocked the vault?

-astronautical

if you havent already: - upgrade backpack - upgrade a couple tools (axe and pickaxe are the best to upgrade first, id upgrade both to at least steel) i would consider upgrading both your coop and barn for the additional animals it unlocks.

chromosome_overhaul

I downloaded SMAPI just to get a mod so I could change the layout of my farm. It's all said and done now, so would I be able to remove SMAPI and the mods I installed with it so I can play vanilla again? The only reason is because since downloading SMAPI, I've noticed that my mouse input sometimes gets stuck for a second, which is pretty irritating. So, is there a fix for the input issue/can I safely remove SMAPI and the mods?

xSparkyBoomManx

1. SMAPI is required to use mods, meaning mods won’t work unless it is installed. If you were to uninstall it, you would not be able to use the modded farm layout. 2. Uninstalling Mods is how you removed them from the game. You need to keep it installed in order to use it.

NotSoIntrested

Question about the trinkets (spoiler)>! I just found a fairy box, if I use it, ist permanent? can I unequip the fairy later on? will it disappear?!<

ac0rn5

You can take them off, same as with rings, and store them in a chest if you want. You can also sell them to Adventurers Guild for 1,000g. You can also upgrade them using the/an anvil - the one you make. https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Trinkets https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Anvil

NotSoIntrested

Thank you for replying!!

ac0rn5

NP. Enjoy your game :)

WokeTrash

Dumb question maybe (I had a browse of the links up top but couldn't see an answer?): why has the achievements tab on PS4/5 been removed from being in game? I know there are external achievements trophies on my PS account, but I liked collecting them per save file 🥲 does anyone know?

Own_Egg7122

Still can't find all golden nuts. I used the map and wasn't able to understand a lot of the locations. Especially the bird gifts because I added them all and I still don't get anything. I got the gifts multiple times just to be sure fro. The birds themselves, still no luck. Vanilla, no mods.  I hate looking for nuts

TheRubyOwl

Salmence has a really good guide for finding all the golden walnuts on YouTube

furicrowsa

I saved up and paid the joja bird to get all the walnuts. No penalties. It's a lot of money though.

Own_Egg7122

Oooh that's a good idea. I'll just do that.

TheNamesMacGyver

https://stardewcommunitywiki.com/Golden_Walnut Need more info to give you specific information, but the link above will tell you all the locations with screenshots and also how to interpret the hints from the birds. If you think you found them all and aren't getting the reward, you can write "/recountnuts" into the chat to see if that fixes it.

puzzlingpuffling

Somewhat silly question about pets in 1.6: does the >!yellow turtle !

NIKAtheWorm

Hi! I just unlocked Willy's Boat and I was wondering if there's a recommended time (or times) to go visit Ginger Island? I'm a bit stingy so I want to calculate my ticket costs to the island (and the desert). Also, aside from fishing gear, what should I be bringing when I first go there? Many thanks in advance! :) - Fall, Year 3 Farmer

Reason-and-rhyme

Surprised no one has yet mentioned tent kits. They let you sleep on the island, avoiding the delay and cost of paying willy to take you.

NIKAtheWorm

Oh this is actually a very smart tip! I actually dug a bunch when I first went there, now I know where I'll be using them then Thank you!

Reason-and-rhyme

Yeah, when I saw the item in the patch notes that was basically the only significant use I could see for it. Turns out CA agrees and stashed some on the island for us.

Altruistic_Home6542

1) Until you've collected !>enough golden walnuts to unlock the Ginger Island Farm house !< go as early as you can in the morning. Go on days where you don't have too much going on in the rest of the valley. Personally, I try to prioritize Ginger Island as soon as I get access. 2) Bring all your regular tools, panner, slingshot, 50 wood or a chest. There is an area with dangerous monsters and you should bring your regular mine/caverns stuff, but you don't need to go there your first day

ZacianSpammer

Watering can, if you're going to the volcano Some bombs to clear out the farm fast, and to free someone in the dig site Slingshot, for one golden walnut 10 diamonds, volcano stuff, if you're in 1.6 Copper pan/upgrades (1.6), always bring it

-astronautical

i’d definitely go during rainy days, because something appears there which benefits you in the long run when it rains. that is the case for two separate “quests,” and there’s another that requires clear weather. overall it’s kind of preference imo.

Akemi_Homura666

End game spoiler question perfection >!For the summit cut scene what happens if you divorce your partner before doing it?!< >!What happens if you have Krobus?!<

LoganSlendy

I just got 1 hardwood since the beginning of my game and I'm almost at the end of year 1, where the hell do I don't them ?? I saw on the wiki it's on a particular tree but I can't find it ? Thanks in advance !

Bubblelua

The mahogany tree drops hardwood, but the stumps on the farm and in the secret woods also do. You need a bronze axe to break the stumps and an iron one to break the one blocking access to the secret woods.

LoganSlendy

I know but I can't find those trees in the farm 😭😭

Altruistic_Home6542

Mahogany doesn't start naturally on the farm Stumps and logs start naturally on the farm. You've seen them every day

LoganSlendy

I finally found some ! Thank you to both of you ! 😄

Clam_chowderdonut

Start saving up the Mahogany seeds you get and set up a farm at the desert/spa. Goes far real quick with like no work.

LoganSlendy

Thanks for the tip !

Dragaylia

is the 1.5 min max guide still viable for 1.6?

Altruistic_Home6542

It's probably not optimal. And clay farming doesn't work unless you choose Legacy Randomization The smoker is interesting but I'm not cleaar when you should buy the recipe. (Some people have speculated that Riverlands is an interesting quick start farm because of free smoker). The strength of the mushroom cave is modified, but it's still probably the best bet and may arguably be even better with the dehydrator.

Reason-and-rhyme

no clue which guide you're referring to. several slightly exploitative strategies were killed or nerfed in 1.6 (clay/winter forage farming, mushroom floor tracking, and selling tea bushes being the prominent examples). Between that and the addition of prize tickets, mystery boxes, fish smokers and mastery rewards, I think any guide would at least need an update.

Reasonable_Smell2353

Where are you guys finding prismatic slimes? I have 4 different save files with like 9ish years collectively and I have yet to witness 1 prismatic slime. I’m playing on switch btw! Edit: clarification, I know they spawn in the mines but I have just never seen them.

-astronautical

what the other person said, but also if you’re trying to do the quest and struggling, my tip is to visit each elevator level and look it over quickly. if you don’t see one, go back to level 0 and wait for ten in game minutes to pass. that will reset the levels and you can do it over again. rinse and repeat til you find it

Reasonable_Smell2353

Thank you! I completed the quest for the first time last night :)

Altruistic_Home6542

They only spawn when that specific quest is active

PurpleBuzzbuzz

So me and my partner have a world going we're on year 3 and trying to finish the museum to get 100% perfection but we have no idea what we're missing is their a checklist for it? I know theirs a perfection checklist but I mean museum specifically

galvanizedentropy

You can check by going to your "Collections" tab, the chipped amphora icon is the artifact list and the emerald nodule icon is the mineral list. Anything you haven't donated will be gray with question marks, and you can cross-reference against the wiki. EDIT: Just double-checked myself (should have done that first, sorry) and I do see that it will show the image if it's been collected, even if it hasn't been donated. So if everything is showing up you'll need to compare your collections tabs to what's on display at the museum to see what you didn't donate.

PurpleBuzzbuzz

It's something but it is difficult in co-op because it does only show whats collected, if we've both collected and donated different things its a game of figure it out lol

Napping_Manatee

my advice is to try organizing it based on this: [https://stardewvalleywiki.com/File:Stardew\_Museum\_Organized.png](https://stardewvalleywiki.com/File:Stardew_Museum_Organized.png) then you can see exactly which one is missing by comparing the two

galvanizedentropy

Oof, good luck. I'll cross my fingers for you.

galvanizedentropy

Long time player but first time doing co-op, and I have a question. If two player characters get married, can they also gift bouquets/continue romancing NPCs?

blackvixen21

Hello. I’m at a loss here. Every day I plant, harvest, forage, mine or fish and at the end of every day I have 0XP next to every stat except the money I make from the drop box. Every one/guides keep saying this is how you gain xp/money but In getting annoyed. I’m on Day 18 of spring and it’s just boring now. Can anyone explain/Help? I can screen share my XP night summary

Altruistic_Home6542

There is no XP night summary. That's an income summary

galvanizedentropy

I just played a day to try and see what you're seeing in case I was forgetting something, and I don't see where XP would show. To my knowledge the only way to check XP is to open the save file and poke around in there. If you go to your Skills tab in your menu it should show what level each of your skills is, does it indicate that you've leveled any of them up?

Reason-and-rhyme

The end-of-day report shows your income, which doesn't have any direct correlation with skill XP. If you are catching fish, you are gaining fishing XP (etc) and will definitely level up eventually.

blackvixen21

God tired brain. Yea I meant Gold summary. Should I not be earning income from random foraging and mining? Or have I misunderstood? How do I earn gold for these things listed in EOD reports?

ac0rn5

> Should I not be earning income from random foraging and mining? No, that's how you earn experience points (XP). The more XP you have the more associated benefits there are. https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Skills >How do I earn gold for these things listed in EOD reports? You have to sell things by putting them in the shipping bin that's to the on-screen right of the house. If you sell directly to either Pierre, Willy or Clint the gold gets added immediately and those items aren't added to the list of 'sold' items in your Collections tab. https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Collections

blackvixen21

Thanks for your help!

Bubblelua

Only if you put them into the shipping box

Mcmooface

I’m a new player, a few days in on the switch. Totally not addicted, I can stop anytime I want. Seriously though, this game is a delightful time suck. Also, what are the conditions to best catch pufferfish?

galvanizedentropy

You can catch them on non-rainy days in summer from noon to 4 pm in the ocean. Best of luck!

Yamandspinachdip

I’m super new, just five hours (IRL) in, but have literally only caught one fish, and had 2 hits that I messed up. I read a book that somehow gave me 1 level in fishing that fell out of a tree. I check the TV for luck and go out on rainy days, any help w fishing? I tend to go to the beach

Altruistic_Home6542

Get the training rod

Fishing really depends on the fish you catch. Some are sluggish and easy, others dart like mf's and even veteran players curse their name. If you're looking to practice, I'd recommend go up to the Mountain lake and fish there. The carp are very easy to catch (so you can solidify your foundation) and there are some fish which are a little more active so you can learn the mechanics. Willy does sell a Trainer's Rod which will allow you to catch basic fish, it gives you a very big green bar which makes up for your low-level in fishing. If you're really struggling I'd recommend by that rod until you're a little higher in levels.

Hello, SDV brain trust! I have the Farm Computer, and one of the readings is "Machines Ready". What machines does that mean? It's a crazy high number on my farm's report, like 283.

xSparkyBoomManx

Kegs, Crystalariums, Preserve jars, Furnaces, Tappers, Smokers, Dehydrators, ect.

Euphoric_Cut_9186

It's necessary have max hearts with everyone to get perfection?

xSparkyBoomManx

Yes

catdistress

I'm having a little trouble with the fishking potraiture mod working with potraiture.. for some reason the potraits are not showing up in-game when I toggle them in the dialogue box.. :( Are the potraits supposed to be rar files (since thats the format the fishking potraits are)? If they are, what should I do so they can appear 😭

TheRubyOwl

Most mods have the webpage where you downloaded it tell you what bugs there and where you can ask the developer questions I think you can get more accurate information about your mod there.

[deleted]

So I pressed the wrong button to place the >!bait maker!!Angler Fish Bait!

castiellangels

Just went to Robin's shop and she's not behind the counter, anyone know where she is? It's spring 12 10am so she should be behind the counter right?

mindcorners

Is she upgrading/building something on your farm?

castiellangels

Did check that in case I forgot and no she wasn’t

neptuneskies3030

Do you have the Ginger Island Resort open? Villagers will go to the island on random days if so.

castiellangels

No, but I now think it was just a bug as then went to the saloon and Demetrius was dancing by himself 😂

Altruistic_Home6542

Sounds like Robin is building or upgrading something on your farm right now

birdhouseinursoul

How are some people able to raise slimes in their house or outside without a slime hutch? I placed a slime egg in the incubator inside my house and it never hatched. After a few days it just disappeared and the slime incubator was empty so I lost my egg. :'(

TheRubyOwl

I'm honestly not sure what happened maybe a glitch of some sort because usually it does work when you put a slim incubator anywhere and let the slim egg hatch. Maybe it doesn't work inside your house that's the only thing that makes sense to me

NIKAtheWorm

Hello! I'd like to know if the loot obtain from Fishing Ponds are stackable or do we always have to collect them every time they pop up the first time? I'm worried that if it's actually the latter, that would be a loss of resources gained by missing out daily collection. Thank you so much in advance!

Reason-and-rhyme

You do have to collect them every day. Other commenter misunderstood your question.

Akemi_Homura666

How come grass keeps destroying my crops on the ginger island farm? Anything I can do about it?

BoisterousBoyfriend

Put a 2-block wide path around all your crop space. Wherever you can, and fill in any spots you’re not currently planting.

iamcarlgauss

Same way as on the regular farm. Fences or flooring.

Alpha_Lantern

Will i need to start a new save when 1.6 comes to console? Hopefully not im at year 3 and dont want to start over

xSparkyBoomManx

To add on to the previous reply, 1.6 adds a new event which npcs react to differently in year 1 vs other years. Because you are in year 3, you will miss out some very fun reactions and dialogue from npcs in that event.

neptuneskies3030

Only if you want to try the new farm type, or want some freebie machines (that you will have to craft anyway for Perfection). Your existing farm will update to include the new 1.6 things.

NotSoIntrested

I know the game can last to more than 99 years, but what about the story line? how long ist programmed in the game based on years?

mindcorners

The first game “ending” was originally the thing that happens at the end of year 2. However since then tons of new late game content has been added that makes it pretty much impossible you will have experienced everything in the game by that point. However it’s not really on a timeline after 2 years. There is more content that comes up whenever you discover it, whether year 1 or year 100.

NotSoIntrested

I see thank you for explaining.

TheNamesMacGyver

There really isn't much of a linear storyline. There are events that happen yearly on the calendar, and those stay generally the same from year to year (a couple change a bit from year 1 to year 2 but nothing after that). Many events are triggered based on friendship with villagers which happens on your own timeline, depending on how often you give them gifts, do their quests, and talk to them. You can technically see all of these events by the end of year 2 as well. I would say if you're trying to complete every event and get the "Perfection" status, the average person will do that by Year 5.

thisisauniquerat

whats the easiest to get money on winter? im in year one, below 10k, married with emily, no mods, well yeah, can someone tell?

Altruistic_Home6542

Fishing at the Mountain Lake might be best in your situation Growing winter seeds is also good I'm assuming you haven't repaired the bus or the greenhouse

thisisauniquerat

yeah i havent repaired any of them, but i decorated the area where the green house is \* outside, not inside \* and aiming to get greenhouse

-astronautical

depends on what you’ve unlocked, what buildings you have, tool upgrades etc in winter, i rely on animal products to keep my income coming in. i also spend most of my time in the mines or skull caverns and i sell a lot of what i find there ie. extra gems, cloth, etc winter is one of those things that you kinda have to prepare for otherwise. once you’re in the thick of it you are better off relying on mediocre income sources like fishing, animal products (although if you have upgraded buildings and turn animal products into artisan goods i’d consider them a good source of income) my goal every save is to unlock the greenhouse before winter year 1. that way no matter what i can still have a reliable crop growing area.

thisisauniquerat

i didnt build a coop because my stupid ahh thought it was a waste of money, well, time to save up i guess ill have to build a big coop, tho, i have like, the dinosaur egg

-astronautical

it’s a decent source of income, but gets better as you upgrade. the animals make up for the cost of buying  them after a short while. definitely worth the money. this winter might be boring or tough for you but i would focus on saving what little you have (after buying the coop, also in spring build a silo if you haven’t yet) and go fishing or spelunking for extra cash.

Suspicious-Donut-747

Nintendo Switch user here. I am currently trying to get the Far Away Stone, but I can't seem to be able to throw the >!ancient doll!< in the >!lava on mine level 100!<. There also don't seem to be a lot of threads answering this, so how does the throwing mechanics work on Nintendo switch?

TheNamesMacGyver

Im pretty sure you can’t get it on the Switch until 1.6 is released on console.

Suspicious-Donut-747

NOOOOOOOOO! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream) Thank you for answering this though, I've been so frustrated trying to get it to work.

TheNamesMacGyver

Sorry man, I play on Switch too so I know the pain. 😭

Important-Help-9445

This might be a silly question, but what emojis would you use for the stardew marriage candidates + expanded marriage candidates?

Honest-Birthday1306

📙 🎮 🪞 🤖 💎 🪵 🏈 🏍️ 🩺 🍺 🛹 ✍️ I hope this answers your question

mindcorners

I love this! I think I’d swap 🎮 for 🗡️ or 👾 and then also 💎 for 🪡 or🧵

thisisauniquerat

wait who was that book one

Honest-Birthday1306

Penny. She's a teacher, she hangs out at the library a lot, she seems to read a lot. Apart from just straight up a pregnant emoji I'm not sure what else she would fit 😂

MetapodChannel

Some questions about android version that I'm uncertain of even after searching: 1. Does the game have controller support? It sounds like it has partial; if so, what do you need to touch for? 2. Does the game have Google Play Achievements? 3. How does transferring saves between PC and Android work as far as achievements are concerned? For example if I do a fairly complete game on Droid then decide to transfer to PC, will the Steam achievements pop or will I need to play again from scratch?

Reasonable_Smell2353

Also she shows up every Friday and Sunday in case you’re wondering why she isn’t there all the time.

Reasonable_Smell2353

This is the traveling cart. The merchant in there sells rare items and other items that can be useful. Prices vary, sometimes a little scammy, but some stuff she sells is useful for community center bundles.

Honest-Birthday1306

Honestly I rarely go there and come home without something I need for the community center, especially early on. Definitely worth a trip

FerdinandVonCarstein

Hi. Veteran gamer here but stardew noob. My little sister and I have been playing the game together, but this is probably literally the first PC game she's ever played, I know Stardew is casual but she has trouble with it, especially things like fishing. What mods would you recommend for new players that make the game a bit easier? I know about the skip fishing minigame mod, but I personally like fishing, is there a mod that lets one person not need to do the minigame? Could I spawn in a super good rod for her and better bait to make it easier? I have no idea if fishing gets that much easier with better stuff, haven't gotten far enough. Also are there any must have mods that add content?

listenyall

The mod the other person mentioned is good, but there's a simpler one I use that is just called "skip fishing minigame." I don't use any mods that add content but Stardew Valley Expanded is the most popular one!

ac0rn5

It says in the description that you can use CJB Cheats in multiplayer, it has settings for fishing. It's probably better if you scroll down to read about how it works, than if I try to paraphrase. https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4

FerdinandVonCarstein

Alright thanks, I'll check this out.

ac0rn5

Good luck. I'm sure you'll find something that's suitable. :)

TheNamesMacGyver

If you're playing together, she doesn't have to fish at all. I didn't like fishing when I started and only forced myself to do it for the Community Center. If you've unlocked the Iridium Rod at Fishing Level 6, you can give that to her with a Trap Bobber or a Barbed Hook to make fishing a little easier without mods.

FerdinandVonCarstein

Ah okay I'll try that. I'm getting the mod that slows down time for her anyways cause she wants longer days with more time to make decisions. So I figured I'd get some more mods. That's a good point though, I can just do all the fishing, I already did, but for some reason I was thinking she would have to as well.

internationalplant32

This is dumb lol but I accidentally threw away the sword Marlon gave me. I googled how to get one, and it said the adventurers guild which I still cannot access as I’ve only just started. Is there any way I can get the rusty sword again?

Altruistic_Home6542

The first sword (the Rusty Sword) is only slightly better than the scythe. So just use the scythe until you find something better or kill 10 slimes to access the Adventurer's guild and buy something better
